It started with a lovely phone call for us to get to know each other and for Liz to get to know what our goal was for the photos. In our case the studio session was the right call. Our little one had some minor issues that left our hospital discharge date in limbo but Liz was so kind and accommodating in working with us to find the best day. It was a relief because it allowed my husband to join and worked around his crazy schedule. The studio is warm and welcoming. Liz is such an easy and gentle person and it was such a pleasure to chat with her during the session. Being a nurse and having little ones herself made me feel extra safe handing over my two week old for a couple of hours. She was really receptive to our wants for the photos. They turned out absolutely adorable! I squealed when I got the final images. We got some family shots, some cutesy shots, and some detail shots as well. I paid $450 for professional photography for my daughter's first birthday, a once-in-a-lifetime celebration that cost over $7,000. I trusted this photographer to capture such a special occasion, but the final gallery was extremely disappointing. Many of the photos were taken from low, unflattering angles, had poor composition, or were unnecessarily repetitive. Several important moments were either missed or not captured well. What was even more disappointing was the response afterward. When I raised my concerns, the photographer claimed that the angles had been "edited to eye level." That explanation made little sense. While editing can adjust exposure, color, and cropping, it generally cannot change the original camera angle or perspective. A photo taken from a low angle cannot realistically be transformed into an eye-level shot through editing alone. The photographer also failed to avoid obvious reflections in people's eyeglasses. Can you imagine paying $450 for professional photos, only to receive images in which bright white glare obscures people's eyes and faces? Instead of acknowledging the problems or offering a reasonable solution, Mary, the owner, refused to take responsibility or provide a refund. This was my daughter's once-in-a-lifetime first birthday, and after spending over $7,000 on the celebration, I expected professional-quality photographs that would preserve those memories. Unfortunately, both the quality of the photographs and the customer service fell far below my expectations.

I went to James for help with getting a 54 year old photo, that has seen better days and survived two floods, restored an enhanced and bring new life to it. He looked at the photo and explained that due to its extensive damage, it might not come out as I expect. He then went step by step through what he would do as far as brightening it up and putting it through filters. Most of the faces in the photo were only half legible, so I didn't give my hopes up. When I tell you this man performed a miracle, believe me when I say that I teared up when I saw it. My grandmother, who passed away when my mother was only 11 years old, was given new breath and looked absolutely stunning and I could finally see what my family always talked about her being a natural beauty. My grandfather, who passed a few years ago, looked so young and lively and my mom and uncle were legible and I could see their young faces smiling. I didn't expect a whole lot as far as the photo restoration and enhancement, but James exceeded all expectations, including his own. His fee was very reasonable and he gave me an extra print of the photo. If anyone needs professional photos done or photo enhancement, James Ferry is the man for you. I'm still in awe of how amazing this photo turned out and I can't thank him enough. Not only did his work prove to be impeccable, but he's also a naturally friendly guy and a pleasure to talk with. If you're on the fence about choosing him, I hope this review settles your reservations. He is worth every penny and worth the wait time for the photos (which still wasn't long. She violated our baby's privacy and when we expressed our displeasure, she was really rude in her response. ELISA has an over bloated sense of self and treated us really awful. We deeply regretted attaching a memory as precious as that of our new born baby to her. She is very insensitive and acts like she is doing you a favor by hiring her. I strongly advise that you find a more personable and professional person to make a memorable experience for you and your family.
