I've been to several groomers in the area, and since our local and favorite groomer passed away we've had difficulty getting appointments for our little Bichon mix dog. I've been to PetSmart, Tractor Supply and Pet Supply Plus with favorable results. Not so with Love my Pet. Worst job ever. I diligently combed out any matts paying special attention to his ears and his tail. But they chopped off both ears and his tail. I was aghast when I saw him. They're obviously very lazy to have done what they did, and I will never let them near my dog again. Never!! And don't get me started on their prices! read more

The worst haircut ever on my puppy !!! So messed up and each day it looks worse ... Asked them to leave her Black tip's and when I picked her up they had cut them off which she will never get them back because they were tips not down to her flesh Just very upset and disappointed . She had some mat's around her neck so there was no need to cut the hair on her back . Still brings tears when I see what they did to her . read more

Today was my first experience at Love My Pet and I couldn't have been more pleased. I brought in a very, very stubborn dog to get her nails clipped and the girls working handled her with great care AND got the job done - which is impressive with how much my dog fought them. This place is awesome!! And so good with my dogs! I have 2 Labradoodles and a yorkiepoo......my female Labradoodle corona needs regular grooming.....I only want her to see Jackie (the store owner) because she is so amazing with her! She looks perfect every single time, and I know she is gentle and sweet with my babies because they always get excited to go see her! My male Labradoodle needs less grooming....and doesn't go as often.....but she does a fantastic job with him as well My yorkiepoo is only 6 months, and is going to need regular grooming as well....and can't wait for Jackie to make her look precious too! The owner also has another shop about 10 minutes from this location called Lil Doggie salon.....and I would recommend that shop just as much as this one! read more

Jackie is AMAZING. I have always taken my cat to her for grooming. my cat is super difficult to work with & very mean & Jackie always handles her great. Today my girl was not happy at all and Jackie was unable to cut her on her own but offered for me to come in and she would try to get as much done as she could. We did it & man was Lucy super unhappy but Jackie was awesome and got her fully shaved & bathed. This is why she is so successful . read more

WARNING!!! PLEASE, PLEASE NEVER TAKE YOUR PET TO 'LOVE MY PET' (Dog & Cat Grooming/New Baltimore, Michigan)!!! I took my 10 year old dog to Love My Pet to be groomed. As a result of that appointment, he suffered several injuries and serious trauma. For those that know me, you can say that I would never post something like this typically. In fact, I have never written a negative review. It hurt to see my little buddy wince and cry when I tried to pet him, and for days he coward and hid from his family members. My main reason is to make sure others do not have to go through what our family pet experienced! Upon examination by our FAMILY VETERINARIAN, the injuries included a subconjunctival hemorrhage (broken blood vessel) to his left eye, a pulled muscle to his left shoulder, an injury to his head, and a gouge to his tongue. He suspected that my dog had either been neglected and/or abused by the groomers. It was evident that he had either had a seizure, induced by the stress of being in a cage unnecessarily for 5 hours, or had suffered these injuries during the apt in some way. He also wondered how they would not have been able to hear him thrashing around in the cage, had it been a seizure. I also consulted with a REPUTABLE DOG TRAINER with over 10 years of experience. She believes that these types of injuries are evidence of abuse and that his behavior is consistent with experiencing a traumatic event. It breaks my heart to know it will take him months to recover from this trauma. Additionally, an investigation was done by deputies from MACOMB COUNTY ANIMAL CONTROL. Deputies noted many things wrong with Love My Pet, but most importantly that their story was not consistent and that they were unable to produce any evidence to support their alleged story. The groomer initially alleged that Happy TRIED to bite her, but then it grew to where Happy had viciously attacked her. She claims to have pictures of her injuries, yet after numerous requests by the deputies (for over 2 weeks now), she has not produced any such pictures and avoids their calls. Also, she had never told us when we picked our dog up 5 hours later that a "vicious attack" had occurred, nor did she document anything or seek medical attention. Because of her inconsistencies and the deputies suspicions, Animal Control is currently enforcing the implementation of strict protocols/procedures/cameras, is currently pursuing them, and will continue to perform further (unscheduled) site visits. I waited on posting this, as I have been working with Animal Control and their deputies and I didn't want to hinder their investigation. I have since received their permission and support to move forward with publication of this. Like I said, I have never written a review before, but this one needed to be shared! read more

Wasn't very impressed. I drove 35 minutes because of the good reviews. It was my first time there and I understand they were busy but they were not very welcoming nor did they communicate much to me. I brought in my two cats, one to be shaved and the other to be groomed, and after 3 hours, I had not heard from them. I called to see if they were done yet and they said it usually takes 3-4 hours!!! Also, when they finally did call AFTER 4 hours, they told me they do not accept credit cards. Mind you, it was Saturday at 4pm now. Luckily, my bank was close by or else I would've had them take off the couple dollars it would have been to use an ATM. When I mentioned this to the lady, she "justified" it by saying "well that's why I told you before you got here at least". I replied, "yes I am a first time customer and it would have been nice to know that I needed to make sure I stopped at the bank." Her response? "Well either way, I told you." No responsibility taken whatsoever. And she also never discussed or told me the final cost until I got there. I know I could've asked but again, as a first time customer, all of that should have been disclosed to me without having to ask. So all of that would have been fine IF they explained any of that to me, a FIRST TIME CUSTOMER, before I left or even when I booked my appointment. I did give them 2 stars because they did a good job with my cats and even washed one's bedding and provided a new towel since he did some business in his crate. Regardless, I will not be going back. read more

Took our cat in today. We had a 1pm appointment dropped him off at 12:30 so that I could talk to the associates. Moo does not like dogs and doesn't like being in his carrier. Explained to the groomer that he may try to bite since he is declawed. Was told that he would be put in a room away from the dogs. Was told over the phone that it would be a few hours to bathe and shave him. Went and did some errands and went back at 3pm to see if he was almost done. He was still in the carrier in the same spot that I had left him and hadn't been touched. He was hissing and growling and completely stressed. I complained that he hadn't been touched this whole time and took him home. This was my first time taking him to this place and will NEVER do it again. I wouldn't even rate them half a star. They didn't even apologize. read more
