Let me preface this by stating this rating is not indicative of the business as a whole…read more The owner did offer to "fix" this for no cost, however I'm on a plane out of the country tomorrow so that's impossible. It has to heal before anyone even attempted it, and quite honestly I don't think this is fixable. I really struggled with leaving this review. I dont want to make it harder for the artist (Brett), I dont want to hurt the business, however I've been looking at this for 5 days now and every day I get more upset. Also, there's a burden of emotion I need to remove somehow, and since I got no offer of a refund on this 600 dollar disaster, this forum is all I have to make myself feel just a little bit better. Yes, that's right - I prepaid. Mistake #1. Make a note, anyone who's reading, don't ever do that. The pictures speak for themselves. I asked for some gray pattern work behind the existing designs, to enhance the overall sleeve without taking away from the art already there. I honestly thought at first he had mixed the black with a little white, and after the first wipe I saw the dark lines and thought well, let's see where this goes. One thing that really gets me is that his lines on the top of my arm where I was watching him work were actually OK, consistent, not wavy, generally decent for free hand. On the back of the arm, well you can see for yourselves. Abhorrent. Absolutely ridiculous and lazy. On top of that, have you ever heard someone sigh or make that sound of disinterest, bordering on apathy, indicating that they don't wanna be there? That's what he did at least 3 or 4 times while he was working. So much so the other artist who was busy on another client said something about it. Red flag, I know... shoulda got up right there and left. Once he started shading though, I really saw how inept this artist is. In my profession I need to react quickly to unforseen contingencies, and quite honestly I'm angry at myself for allowing it to go on for the 10 minutes he destroyed my arm with his shading. At first I figured with the rough, patchy, and inconsistent work that this was his method of gray work. Nope, he was done "shading" that spot and moved on. Then he goes over one of the small lines with a shader and made it huge, going outside others, making a blowouts, and letting the shader go dry a few times and honestly I was kind of in shock. I watched for another minute before I stopped him, and honestly that was too long. I blame myself for the level of damage, but, at least I did react. Not fast enough. Brett honestly had no clue why I got up and left. In his conversation with the other artist who was inquiring why I was leaving it was evident, and thats a problem. One I couldn't let go considering there's no other way to warn others except here. Unfortunately this is one of the reasons I HAD to write this review. The other, I mentioned before, I gotta get this off my chest somehow. I'm pissed. This is permanent. Again, I need to re-emphasize the owner did offer to try to make it right to the best of their ability, sadly that's not enough. I'm certain my experience is rather isolated. There's plenty of good examples of work from this shop in the reviews, but I had to say something to the rest of you. Learn from my mistake if you can. I have to look at this for the next 3 to 4 months on my next rotation overseas. This is embarrassing and unacceptable. I found an artist in Austin who said they'd take care of me, so perhaps in October or November (depends on when the taliban decide to take over Kabul really) I'll be able to roll up my sleeves again.

Mind you, I'm vacationing here with the BF so I wanted to ensure my stubborn butt cartilage piercing wouldn't close up. Since we were in downtown Carlisle, the parking was on the street but wasn't busy. Thankfully, we were there when they opened at 12. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by all the gnarly art work and the this dope guy who asked how he could help. I told him my issue and he was helping alongside the assistance of who I believe is their residential piercer, Lexi. Lexi was able to hook me up with a flat back stud that matched my second cartilage piercing. She helped put it in and we were set to go. Pricing was decent and they were super sweet. Sadly, I was only in town for a short amount of time or else I would have gotten another piercing. Overall, loved this place. Kind people, fun environment and reasonable prices!

I'd been wanting to get some tattoo work done for a while, but finding a new shop had never quite made it to the top of my to-do list. This seemed like the perfect opportunity to check one out! The grand reopening event was fantastic. The shop was packed with energy, all of the artists were there meeting people, and they had plenty of giveaways--including some really cool Viking Armor swag. It was a great way to get a feel for the shop's personality and the artists' styles before committing to an appointment. While I was there, I spent some time chatting with Emilee, the newest artist at the shop. After looking through portfolios and talking through ideas, I ended up booking an appointment with her a few weeks later for a cover-up of a tattoo I got in my younger days. (Turns out a Chinese symbol tattoo didn't age quite as gracefully as I imagined it would LOL!) One thing that stood out to me from the beginning was how welcoming everyone was. The shop was clean, professional, and comfortable, with plenty of parking right outside the front door. The artists' portfolios demonstrated some serious talent, and the pricing felt fair and reasonable for the quality of work being produced. Fast forward a few weeks and it was appointment day. When I arrived, Emilee was ready to go. She had already drawn up the design we had discussed and was incredibly accommodating when I requested a few small additions and adjustments on the fly. She listened carefully, made thoughtful suggestions, and never made me feel rushed. Throughout the appointment, Emilee was warm, friendly, professional, and clearly passionate about her craft. She took her time, paid attention to the details, and made sure I was happy with everything before moving forward. The end result was exactly what I was hoping for, and the entire experience--from the grand reopening event through the completed tattoo--was a positive one! If you're looking for a clean, welcoming shop with talented artists who genuinely care about their clients and their work, I'd absolutely recommend checking out Viking Armor Tattoo. Based on my experiences so far, I wouldn't hesitate to return for future work!

I kind of can't believe this place doesn't have any reviews on Yelp honestly. Looking up tattoo…read moreshops in Harrisburg, this was always the first one that popped up and always intrigued me the most. On first glance - all the artists have great portfolios, their website is well organized and informative, and the shop is clean and nice. Overall, I couldn't be disappointed with that. I chose to go in to schedule an appointment - I was pretty open to whomever doing the tattoo I wanted simply because there wasn't a single person there whose work wasn't impressive. I ended up scheduling with Brad for a Thursday evening after work. The experience was nice. Everyone there is nice (I can't be sure, but I'm fairly awkward myself, so if people are nice to me, I generally just think they are nice because I'm not overly bubbly or out going) and the place is comfortable. The tattoo was done perfectly and I left happy. More importantly, the next day when a friend mentioned a mistake she thought she saw (thought a photo, I really don't know anyone here, at least not well enough to go parading a tattoo to) and I panicked (with a tattoo on your back, not only is it hard to see, but you can't really read anything) Brad was happy to basically console my insanity and take a photo for me. Which was really nice and something he definitely didn't have to do as I was just being completely and utterly wacky. There was nothing wrong. At all. It was perfect. I am nuts. Let me reiterate. I am insane, the tattoo is amazing. Overall, a great experience. Everything was clean and well done and I felt it was fairly priced. Then again, I'm not one to mess with someone putting something permanent on my body - same principle as don't mess with people who make your food. I'd definitely go back here in the future.
