She knows animals don't get sick by appointment and is always there for the animals. Our last rescue was seen by 4 incompetent vet clinics here in Calgary with us being told they were the best. When they diagnosed our cat wrong each and everytime because not one of then did tests on him we were told to try Dr. Rowe at that point we had nothing to lose and we're going to Take him to Vancouver. Well she was AMAZING!, She ran tests and fixed the problem. It's hard to write this review because we don't like to share and once pet parents go to her they won't go anywhere else guaranteed. And for the record she has the MOST AMAZING STAFF and I mean all of them. BEST VET EVER

As a first time dog owner They were very informative and made sure I understood all the at home care and gave me some helpful tips about what to expect. They also followed up with a phone call. They put all my worries at ease. I also use this vet to get my dogs nails clipped, he has a lot of attitude but they are always friendly towards him and treat him with respect. They have also been helping me introduce him to other dogs while I'm there, to make my dog less nervous. Staff are extremely helpful and that's why i keep going back.

I was also surprised that when I told the employees they also didn't know that other locations had dogs and they didn't . As for the store I feel like having the dogs, perhaps, has to do with the size of the store and this store did feel smaller than the other locations. However, it felt like they were trying to put the same amount of items in this store, therefore, making it feel very crowded and smaller isle space.

The vet wanted to send us to a cardiologist ($$$) and join their care club($$$) as it would include the costs from that days visit. He wasn't willing to start heart meds in the interim (I asked) which made me feel like I'm sitting on a ticking time bomb. It just seemed like after a $300 visit (which also seems pretty steep for a wellness check and vaccinations), I wasn't given any options - felt like I was being held hostage in a way. So I made an appt for a consult with a vet in diamond valley. He'd reviewed her chart, and I explained the situation. He raised his eyebrows and said "this is a vca clinic?" Started heart meds immediately and we'll check in in a month and then talk about how to proceed for dental surgery. Way more reasonable and practical approach. My guess is that the vets and techs at vca are lovely people, but work for a very profit driven organization. it seems like they use emotions and a bit of fear to push people into making very expensive decision As my new vet said "good veterinary care shouldn't be only for the wealthy."

Just called about having my 5 lb pup neutered, and not only is their price 350, but they REQUIRE not only a 'new pet exam' prior to the operation (new pet exam is basically basic physical exam, listen to heartbeat, real basic stuff that could, and should, just be done as a part of the neuter operation; IMO it is just a way to charge clients 72 dollars extra...), And then they also REQUIRE every dog to have blood work done before they will neuter (or spay) them (at 73 dollars extra!)!. So looking at basically 500 dollars to have a 5 lb Chihuahua snipped! Unreal the amounts that some clinics are willing to charge customers for quite basic and routine, as well as necessary, procedures. Vets around Calgary have really lost their moral compass, and seem to have very much gone towards a very profit-driven model. Sad, especially for people who rely on their dog for various services and supports for their mental or physical health.
