I have been attending LoveBug classes and special events with my two boys for over 7 years with Ms Mary!!! I joined when LoveBug started with my oldest and my youngest loves his classes currently. The classes are always high energy, engaging, fun, and the teachers are just perfect when it comes to connected with the children. Since we had to go online the Zoom classes are just as amazing. Even in this hard time LoveBug brings us all Love. Each class is always learning and colorful, invovled, and exciting. Our grandson loves going the bilingual class with Maestra Marlen. We have watched our grandson develop musically, socially and emotionally as we have attended the summer session. At first, he was very shy and withdrawn and even a little bit afraid of the Love Bug puppet! Maestra Marlen was gentle, funny, and kind and now as we reach the end of the class, we see our grandson having such a great time, confidently participating and even giving the Love Bug puppet a "high five". My daughter has been attending classes through LoveBug & me on and off since she was about 8 weeks old. I was skeptical about bringing her while she was so young, but she has really enjoyed them! The age range is from 0-5 years old on their website, so I signed up and I must TRULY say that there really is something for every kid to get out of it at every age. Although my daughter can't sing and get up and dance, she has come to love lovebug and she adores the music and watching all of the other children. The instructors are so kind and inclusive to all ages and abilities. She has grown so much through these classes and I really feel like it has jumpstarted her development. In the earlier months, she would have a hard time staying awake through the entire class, but now she laughs, listens and babbles thru the whole thing. She's now even banging on her little drum and shaking the rattles, maracas or trying out whatever instrument she can get her hands on. They also offer a scholarship program for those who can't afford the registration fee. I can't say enough about how wonderful these classes are and we will keep coming back! read more

Went to a few of the classes with the wife (whom also wrote a review) and baby and we always had a good time. We go to a lot of these types of things and there's quite a spectrum of adults: anywhere from totally not getting kids to amazingly engaging, warm, and welcoming. Mary's definitely at the apex of the spectrum. She took the time and effort to get the names of the kids down, kept our little boy riveted, and didn't make him feel unsure or afraid at all (as some adults did when he was this age - he's pretty much passed that now). She also has a knack for keeping the kids focused and engaged through her charisma while not needing to be all schoolmarm(or man)ish; None of that everyone must stay seated in their correct spot BS that doesn't really work with little tots. If you can afford the classes, don't hesitate. read more

Miss Mary is amazing. She has an incredibly positive energy and is able to engage little kiddos unlike I've ever seen before. It was a joy to start the day singing along with Miss Mary and be able to expose my son to music in such an inviting way. It was a perfect blend of singing, dancing, and hands on with instruments. In addition she surrounded herself with other talented musicians to provide a well rounded musical experience for all. Both my daughter (22 months) and I love going to LoveBug classes! We have been going to LoveBug classes since she was 5 months old and every time we go, there are new surprises mixed with familiar routines (good morning welcome song, instrument time, clean up song, and everyone's favorite, LoveBug puppet high-five time, just to name a few!). All of the songs are educational and the atmosphere is so welcoming. Miss Deborah is absolutely amazing with the babies, kids and adults. My daughter even had a LoveBug first birthday party. LoveBug and Me Music classes have given me a way to start the day with my children with the songs we learn in class. "Good Morning to You" is one of our favorites and we sing it at home all the time. She was very sweet and accommodating! we were running behind because our food was delivered late and she was very understanding and waited until our guests were done eating. Miss Mary and LoveBug Music class has been such a source of joy for my two kids. Mary is super sweet, patient and engaging with the kids. She teaches traditional sing along songs, songs from her theme as well as original music all while strumming her guitar or ukulele. You can participate and sing your heart out or chill and take it all in with your little one. New instruments for the kids to try out. Fun dancing play. New themes for each series, to get a little variety. The whole class has a beautiful flow to it. The songs she writes are our favorites. And if you are having a birthday party, she is PERFECT! I have just finished an 8 week course with my 6 month old. She was 4 1/2 when we started and is totally infatuated by Miss Mary! Ms. Mary was phenomenal at my son's first birthday party!! We had about 13 kids, all under the age of 3 on a cold and rainy day. She was able to captivate everyone's attention (babies and adults alike) and saved the party! We had the party at Garfield Park in South Pasadena and did not expect the rain. When it started drizzling, i started panicking. We were all in the pavilion and no one got rained on, but I was worried that all the kids would be bored and antsy because they couldn't run around. Not the case with Ms. Mary! She had fun instruments (drums, guitar, and xylophone, etc), puppets, and a parachute to keep all the kids' attention. We sang and danced for 45 mins!! The rain didn't dampen the mood of the party because of Ms. Mary! Many random passerbys at the park joined in as well. The most impressive part was how she incorporated the theme of the party into her program. She was great with all the kids, kind, prompt, and easy to work with. She was able to entertain all the kids herself, while the adults are uninterrupted the entire time!!! She is worth the money! Highly recommend her!!! read more
