So many beautiful items to choose from but I bought a multi color tuxedo cat painting , since I have tuxedo cats. I would add I did see some small Trump and Desantis items at the register area but the owner has a right to carry items of their choosing, and people have a right to purchase or not.What is deeply troubling to me in previous review , is a visceral reaction which apparently entitles someone to unleash a tirade on a store owner they do not know , it defies logic. Really hesitant to give Lovegrove Gallery and Gardens anything more than a 1 star review, but I feel that a lot of her prints are worth more than the lesser rating I'm giving. The pro-Republican / Trump / DeSantis / GWBush items shut me off from wanting to contribute to a local artist, which is sad because this mix of stances can jeopardize a lot of people (tourists beware). Although there are plenty of Beatles pictures around (on canvas, on paper, on coasters), the sunsets and palm trees were just as splendid, I think the political attitude needs to be kept out of the gallery unless it's a national museum or part of an installation piece. Like a lot of users have stated, there's a disconnect between supporting your rights and supporting nature, surroundings and people. Sure, everyone is entitled to an opinion, however, the Beatles aren't the only band who promote(d) peace and love, and I feel their discography doesn't completely jive with one portion of a governing body. Do painted coconuts know what our leaders do, unless we write something creative on them before we mail them? Are the palm trees fanning the ocean and bridges as the sun sets, or are they shading something wicked from eyesight? After seeing the giant Trump 2024 flag and a corner case full of other Republican memorabilia, I can't put myself on a political bus that looks like it is going down a one way street. I know there is more out in this world than following a one track mind, even though the sculptures and colors were pretty cool. If, by chance, there were positive paintings of Democrats or Liberals alongside the canvas of DJT, I'd totally be on board with this place. Even with the slight obsession with the aforementioned Fab Four... I wonder what they would all think about facility selling their image next to "we love you, George Bush!!"??? Lennon would probably dig it and say there's nothing wrong, but what about the Quiet One (Harrison) or the snare kicker (Ringo)? Macca would probably want his face out of the picture or take 45 compeltely out of the picture. Whatever is easier to remove. Beautiful art gallery and garden! The backyard is very colorful, nice and facing the river. If you like taking photos, you sure can find many cute spots in this garden. There are also plenty of arts for sale. Prices range from 18$ to over 3k. They also take orders for custom orders and special sizes. If you are going specifically for garden make sure you call ahead and ask if the garden is open ( sometimes they close it due to weather conditions). The are also 3-4 parking spots right in front of the store. Masks are required due to pandemic and there is hand sanitizer at the store entrance. Don't worry if you forget your mask, you can buy from them for 1$! read more

Colorful cute place to visit with some affordable pieces you could bring home with you - but then you turn the corner and there's a case filled with Republican memorabilia including things signed by Sarah Palin, lots of Bush era stuff and even Trump. Not only that- You go out into the beautiful garden in the back which asks for a dollar donation and in the middle of all the beauty is a giant trump 2024 Flag ... most opposite thing I can think of for a place like that but it says a lot about the artist but makes her art feel cheap & cheesy lol read more

I have been counting the days until I could finally visit this gallery. The staff were pleasant. I REALLY wanted to do a wine and canvas but they weren't offered during my visit. Also, I think a "paint your own coconut" would have been awesome. To all of the people complaining about her political art... art is expression. It is HER gallery, and she has the right to express herself through art however she wishes. Her style is bright, vivacious, and really gives a personality to her animal subjects. Absolutely beautiful gallery and garden! However, this is NOT a place for kids. Kids were asked to stay off the stage, and basically we were asked what were we doing there, after they finished painting bowls. Seriously strange comments from gallery manager in relation to kids in garden. If kids shouldn't be there, paint a sign for that, too. Very strange feeling as a guest, but overall, a lovely art gallery. The no photos sign on the dock is a total turnoff. Gardens were closed when we went which was the whole reason we drove an hour. The woman working inside wasn't too friendly either when my mom was asking about the way that the art is made. In seeing some of the political signs she posts, it doesn't surprise me that she wasn't friendly. Luckily, I live real far away and won't be coming back. If I had heard some of the comments that other reviewers heard or experienced while in her store, there definitely would have been a problem. read more

Love going to Lovegrove!! Have been many times on my own and to take friends who are visiting from up north. It's always a great excursion to Matlache...have breakfast at the Perfect Cup which is across the street from Lovegrove. Then walk along the street and visit the fun little shops until you reach the Pinnacle which is Lovegrove. Wonderful art created by a one-of-a-kind woman who had me from first time I stepped foot in her gallery 5 years ago. Have bought several pieces for my daughter who loves Leoma's work as well. I most definitely enjoy Leoma's work. I have bought several pieces and I just find a warmth and serenity in her artwork. I can't say and comment on the people that put the bad reviews on here not sure of their experience. But I will support her and her work. Every time we've been to Matlacha we visited and have felt very welcome Lisa was the lady at the desk when we were there the last time and she was very accommodating. Lived in Florida for years & have never been to this area - I had heard of this art gallery & from the colorful photos of the outside I new I wanted to visit some day - I took my 12-year-old one afternoon for a little excursion to check it out and loved all the colorful art - it just makes u happy to see light hearted un-serious art work that has a sense of humor & loved the little colorful butterfly garden outback- just a happy little place. We went to get ice cream down the street on the corner just a few shops over & I wish I could recall the name but it was amazing homemade ice cream served up by 2 of the most genuinely friendly teenagers! This is a quirky shop full of Island art, but it is one of a few that is like that. A lot of the art here references pop songs (especially the Beatles) which means you either think it is pretty kitchy or you feel the need to buy it all. I wish I would have read the Yelp reviews before visiting. The items are very tacky and the owner was unwelcoming and had an attitude. This was our last stop on our day trip and I can honestly say all other business in Matlacha were courteous and friendly. If you're looking for a gallery I suggest the gallery attached to Great Licks Ice Cream, they have very tasteful items and an extremely personable staff. read more

Leoma Lovegrove has a fun little gallery in downtown Matlacha. Her work is zany, beautiful, soft & bold, often large pieces. Her website is currently "down" so I can't send you to the link. She has a section of the shop dedicated to Beatles likenesses and pieces of their words spouted as "wisdoms". She was not in the shop on my visit. I left there wanting to see more of her works. read more

The other reviews on here suck. This place is awesome! Leoma can be found in the shop or gardens fairly often from what I've seen. Her artwork is amazing, a true prodigy. I just wish my little doggy was aloud, haha. You can't beat the Beatles artwork if you're a fan. Also the fish paintings are my favorite.
