My mother in-law and I needed our nails done for a wedding we were attending today and decided to check out this salon. We were shouted at as soon we walked in the door, the techs were rough and made multiple nails bleed, they added so much remover to the polish because it came out chunky within the first nail so they needed to "thin it out", put a dirty top coat on our nails, AND the nails bubbled on both of our manicures. After giving it a few minutes to dry we both were displeased with the outcome. When showing the techs the bubbles we were told to pick a different color and they would fix them.....because it was not a good color for us. Like what?! They told us only pink or red would do. From the 1st pearl Essie polish to the 3rd pink OPI we walked out so upset. We went in for a pampering and walked out with sloppy nails for our event. Never again. read more

I wish I could give this place NO stars. While visiting back in January, my mother and I went to get pedicures around 7pm on a Saturday night. FIRST mistake. Us ladies are always warned, if you HAVE to get a pedicure, go in the morning when you know, OR HOPE, the tubs are thoroughly cleaned. Well, sure enough, i got a nasty, painful fungus infection in left big toe. I know it was this place because it developed after about a 1.5 weeks and when the pain set in, i took the nail polish off and saw the discoloration in my nailbed. After 3 months of antibiotics I was still unable to kick the infection and had to get the toe nail surgically removed. No pool/lake/ocean for 6 weeks. Now that SUCKS, especially living in the south. Ladies and Gents, get your pedicures elsewhere and go in the MORNING! read more

Nails were fine. But service has been declining since I started coming a year ago. The tech was rude and very rough. I don't like being shouted at first thing when I walk in the door. And it rubs me the wrong way when the tech starts messing with my chair after I already fixed it as well as just saying, "you pay now" when she wants to be paid. I get my nails done to relax and although the nails are priced as though it is a relaxing spa, that is not the vibe I got. read more

Highly unimpressed. The girl who did my gel manicure was clueless as to what she was doing and took over an hour to finish the manicure. She cut my fingers while cutting my cuticles. My nails starting ripping apart just 3 days later. Just awful. To top it off, they charge higher prices than a lot of other local salons, but their service does NOT back it up. Honestly the worst pedicure I have had. She hurt me. Polish looked terrible and it was all over. I'm pregnant and can not reach my toes. So i thought i would go get a pedicure instead of asking my boyfriend to help. I think my boy friend would have done a better job. She forgot half of the things they normally do. Very disappointed. Went here today for the first time. Needed a place for pedicures for my sister and I and didn't know what to expect. The salon is very nice and much bigger than expected. We were quickly greeted and even though they were busy, someone took us back to the pedicure chairs to wait. This is a place you don't mind getting stuck in the massage chair waiting. These chairs are incredible and so relaxing. The basic pedicure was only $25 and was definitely worth it and you get a nice long scrub and massage. This is going to be my new go-to spot for pedicures and gel manicures!!! read more

Been going here for 3yrs (starting back when they were in Walmart facility first), and like them. Cheaper than the mall. Quality is good, new building and environment are nice. Last year, they got new massage chairs to use during pedicures; yummm!! (I'll take this on any busy day, and run the massage program twice!!) They have full service nail salon and waxing. Young daughter occasionally comes. English-speaking is a plus, too! read more

This place is an absolute disaster. I go to school in the area and have visited this nail salon a few times, and after today, I am never going back. I went in wanting to get a regular manicure and pedicure. When I sat down to get my pedicure, I was handed a brochure with all the different types of pedicures they offered. I pointed to the regular spa pedicure which is $25, and said that was the one I wanted. The lady gave me my pedicure but gave me this fancy spa pedicure that I did NOT ask for. I got regular polish on my nails, which was not carefully done at all. The lady was talking the whole time to the other technician, barely paying attention to what she was doing. At the end, I asked what I owed them and they said $50. Excuse me???? I asked how much they were charging me for each and they said I asked for a special pedicure when that was NOT what I asked for! They even mentioned I got gel polish when I brought in my own nail color from home, so it was most definitely not gel. I ended up not putting up a fight and paid the $50. I left no tip because this experience was horrible. I honestly think that they scammed me into paying more, which I am not happy about since I am a college student! $50 is a lot of money to blow off, especially when I'm not working full time. Very unprofessional staff. Waited 15 minutes after the woman already started my nails so she could do 3 girls eyebrows. Meanwhile there's 4 workers not doing anything but watching TV. Once the woman comes back she tells me only she can do my acrylics because I have short nails? My regular nail salon does my full set with my short nails perfectly every time. I went here on Saturday, got a French acrylic manicure. I had the young girl who was super detail oriented about her work and I was feeling really good about the experience. I left and my nails weren't 100% perfect but I am also a perfectionist and very picky about my nails so I'd say like a 90% to me which is great. On Tuesday evening, the nail on my middle finger broke off where the tip was placed and all I did was grab onto my dogs collar so there was no force to it at all, I was able to get the rest of the acrylic off of my nail and went to the salon after work the next day, the owner/manager began working on adding on a new nail, she then took a phone call within two minutes of starting the process and sent me to a different technician so I had to move stations, the girl was nice and was joking but made my finger bleed around the cuticle when she was filing my nail bed down. My aunt noted to them that the french was already wearing off and chipping, the manager came over and asked me if im a smoker, what does that have to do with the paint chipping, I don't scratch the polish with my cigarette, i thought this was very rude. I went home with a full set of nails again, only to be eating dinner and realize that the index finger now broke off the tip for no reason at all. Now I am down a nail again. My aunt wants to call and complain but I think im just gonna bite them off and go back to Annies in Peckville. read more

HORRIBLE service getting a refill on my gel nails. Although they have the best color selection of gel nails in the area, the guy that did the actual refill did a horrible job. It was extremely messy and looked like a 10 year old painted my nails. Even after he fixed it, I was still very disappointed and will not be going back there to get my nails done. Oh, I love getting my nails done with Vivian, her girls and guys. It's that valuable tiny piece of freedom I'm given, so I choose wisely. I have been with Vivian for a very long time and always worry about losing her. I have sensitive fingers and no one ever has given me the attention that she has. When I try other salons at hotels or on trips, and even that expensive place in Scranton, (someone gave me a gift certificate), I'm always disappointed... I received cuts on every finger, crooked nails, or they fall off. While, Vivian at Lovely Nails, near Red Lobster is so careful and has never hurt me. She uses an autoclave and the place is very clean, even the bathroom is spotless. Her prices are reasonable and the place is beautiful. Vivian is thoughtful, intelligent, funny and pleasant to be around and she has an amazing memory. You will enjoy that valuable free time in Vivian's salon. I would recommend Lovely Nails and I also buy gift certificates for my friends and family. She does a lot of men and children too. A children's chair is available, along with huge tv's,and massage chairs. She also does hair removal because I get my eyebrows done too! This place is the best. read more

By far the worst manicure and pedicure I have ever had. My fingernails hurt afterward! They buffed them with a coarse buffing block and you could see the scuffs in my nails. Paint on my toes - was missing on some sides and on skin on the others. Paid for a pedicure upgrade - did not get. Will never go back there! read more

ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING!!!!!!AND VERY RUDE!!!!!! MUST READ!!!!!! I needed a pedicure and a manicure for my upcoming trip to Florida. When I walked in on a Sunday afternoon there were about 6 people at manicure stations and 1 waiting ahead of me. I was screamed at to " go pick your color" and then I was sat in a pedicure chair to "soak" for more than a half hour with at that point already cold water, as was 3 other people by this time. Why didn't they just tell me it was going to be a long wait.... I guess they wanted and needed the business, I was trapped. I finally had this older man come over for my pedicure with his little box of utensils and already wearing latex gloves, which I swear we're not new from the last person and the utensils were not taken out of an autoclave. Gross!!! Worst pedicure I've ever had and the lotion they used on my feet for the "massage" smelled like lotion my 100 year old grandmother uses. It stunk. On to my manicure..... The man refused to file my nails because "they were too short" listen, my nails are kept in the shorter side but are well kept and fileable. He barely pushed back my cuticles and used his " little box of utensils" again. Also, Whenever the phone rang in the store they would answer it on speakerphone and totally ruin any relaxation you wanted to have. When I was finally done I was drying my nails and watching the man with his little utensil box "cleaning" his utensils.... Well he didn't he ran them under water and used pump soap on the counter to clean them. So gross... The department of health needs to come in here and investigate. And never ever did I see any employees wash their hands in between customers. And after all of this, 2days into my vacation my fingernails and toenails are chipped, so I guess they use shitty polish too....to top it all off. The woman who owns this salon is crazy. If I did not have witnesses and have this on video, no one would believe me. I took my daughter into this salon for a pedicure. There was no sign posted that they did not accept checks and the woman who paid right before me wrote a check. When we were done, she asked me cash or credit . I said check . The woman went ballistic. She started screaming in her so-called English no checks. no checks. Cash or credit only . When I explained that I had no other form of payment, she had no sign stating that she did not take checks and the woman before me wrote a check so why would I think otherwise, she started screaming and carrying on that she wasn t going to take the check. After about 20 minutes of her carrying on, she reluctantly took the check (after she told me I had to leave and get cash and come back. She tried to take my cell phone out of my hand to keep it as collateral-no kidding!). She did take the check but followed me out of the store asking me to come back in so she could see my ID . I went back in and she proceeded to call the police stating I refused to pay (while she was holding my check in her hand). She then proceeded to lock my daughter and I in the building refusing to let us out. When my daughter and I tried to go outside, she proceeded to physically push me. I then had to call the police because of false imprisonment and assault. The police came and talked me out of pressing charges stating that they would have to press charges on both of us since there was no witness . There were plenty of witnesses and the entire event was on video. I think they simply did not want to do the paperwork. However that is another story. Avoid this place like the plague. Do not go there. This was all over a $30 check. I later heard of somebody else who this woman physically chased down because they complained about the services rendered there. read more
