I was fully aware of the bad reviews but didn't have time to go to Chico as I have the past few years. The experience at this shop was horrible. The Vietnamese lady that did my pedicure was elderly, small and frail. She definitely is not strong enough to give a leg massage but regardless she didn't even attempt to as she only very briefly rubbed something on my legs. The nail tech is lazy and rushes thru her job and the owners don't care. She very briefly attempted to file my nails then didn't even push back my cuticles at all. I asked her to file the nails and push back the cuticles. She looked over at the female owner who had given me dirty looks and said she did not speak English. Then the owner proceeded to tell me that she said she did push back my cuticles. The lady did a crappy attempt to partially cut back some of my cuticles. The owner then proceeded to tell me that the nail tech would not do my nails/feet again. There were other customers that were very loud talking to the male owner, Peter, in a crude conversation across one end of the shop to the other. This is definitely not a pleasant experience with no music or anything other than trashy people talking loudly and the owners are rude in this cramped shop. This never occurs in any of the shops I've gone to in Chico. This place is an uncomfortable experience that do horrible work and are rude as I wasn't even greeted when I showed up. One positive note is that the pedicure chairs are nice but that's the only positive thing I can offer. read more

I couldn't be happier with Lovely Nails! I was recommended Lovely Nails by a friend when looking for a nail salon open on Saturday that took walk-in's. I walked through the door & believe I was greeted by the owner, 30 minuets later he was making my nails look beautiful. I haven't had the best service here in the past but because this place is convenient I tried it again. Big mistake. I was treated horribly. I'm not one to complain. I was shocked when the lady told me of an additional charge and all I said was "really?" The guy(probably the one MANY reviews are saying yells) yelled from across the room while DOING SOMEONES NAILS in front of a packed room "WE HAVE TO PAY FOR SOLUTION!! WE ARE A BUSINESS!! THINGS AREN'T FREE!!" I said," I didn't say a word". And he yelled "YEAH BUT YOU ACTED SHOCKED!!" Sooo very UNPROFESSIONAL!! I should have walked out the door because what is suppose to be a treat wasn't. I gave the lady a big tip as I headed out the door FOR THE LAST TIME even tho she didn't do the greatest job. So far it's one star due to the misshaped and uneven nails I had to refile myself when I got home. It also doesn't help when I got switched to a different person to paint my nails and was forced to wait for her. It should not take an hour and a half to get a manicure of this poor quality. I went in to get a mani and pedi but as I walked in I heard the man who runs the salon talking to a customer on the phone who was upset at the service she had received he then proceeded to tell her if she wasn't happy with the service to come in and they would see what they could do for her now what came next was something so unnecessary he then went on to say "oh no she's going to come in lets see how it goes and watch out she is black" and then laughs the customer he was helping said "ohhhh" and he then says "what should I not have said that why cuz Black Lives Matter" and then laughs again it was so wrong in so so many ways and no one in the salon thought it was funny. During this same visit I also witnessed him serving large amounts of alcohol to some customers which then began to get intoxicated and loud and rude making everyone else very uncomfortable but he kept on encouraging it on. I paid and left ASAP very uncomfortable and upset with it all never again will I be going to this nail salon I will be taking my business else where even if I have to go all the way to Chico. read more

Terrible place DO NOT GO. The were rude to me when i came in and asked for a design to repair a couple nails that had broke. They took off the powder and drilled down my actual nail even further then normal and cut me several times will drilling me and the when it came to the paint they did only a gel black and would not listen to me when i told them that not what i asked for. It made me feel uncomfortable an unwelcome. The experience left me in tears at the end and for two nails i paided 7dollars for a black gel acrylic. WORST SERVICE & UNPROFESSIONAL, NEVER RECOMMENDING! My nails have turned yellow while I have there nails they put on . & They reuse there tools my friend got fungus because of them!!! And they did the shittiest job on my nails theyr chipping ! The owners are freaking asshole they thought I didn't know what they were saying but I studied there language in college . Decided to try them out for the first time a few months ago with my mom. I ended up getting a man im assuming was the manager and my mom ended up getting a female. During the whole time he was very rude to me didnt do a good job on my nails and kept coming and leaving while doing my nails. While the lady was trying take her time and do a good job until the guy and started talking to her in their language im assuming telling her to hurry up. They treated us horribly but not only us but this elderly lady and another lady and we all decided not to come back again. I don't understand how such a bad business and rude man can still have his business. I'm going elsewhere for sure. read more

I went to this nail place on a whim on a Saturday afternoon. They were very busy, but I didn't have to wait long at all. The people were very nice and it looked like everything was well cleaned. My main issue was that although I don't get my nails done often, I know "the drill" and the service was way too fast and I ended up with a couple cuts - first time ever- and for some reason my nails ended up crooked. Lets just start off by saying that I WAS a very happy and loyal customer... until today that is. I've always come to Nancy to do my nails. I decided to try out the "gel" polish. It is advertised that it is chip resistant up to 21 days. My thumb nail started chipping only 3 days after I got my nails done. Nancy reluctantly fixed the nail. I asked her to brush the tips of all my nails so that the same wouldn't happen (it chipped on the tips) and she refused and told me she would not do my nails anymore. I am a paying customer and feel very offended that Nancy refused to correct the situation. Instead she drove away a loyal customer. I will not be coming here anymore. With my last full set, i received cuts on almost every finger, from the drill and files. Not good. Dont know what the problem was. When Peter is there the business is upbeat. Music playing. Peter singing. Its fun to be there. The girls dont converse much with the clients and the atmosphere is not as fun. The prices are very fair compared to other salons. read more

Well... my first time going to get a mani pedi done and decided to take my daughter as well to get hers done for the first time! All I can say is I'm never going here again! I was there for 5 in a half hours and then they told me that I would have to come back the next day to get my nails finished because the lady that does design wasn't available any more!! like She could have done my nails a long time ago instead of helping everyone else that came in wayyy after me!! so I ended up just getting a basic color done so I didn't have to come back the next day and the acrylic nails don't even fit my fingers the nail polish doesn't even go all the way down or cover the whole nail, it looks like it's been two weeks since I got them done and I need to get a fill already I have glue and acrylics stuck all over my cuticles and down my fingers it was just not it is very disappointed 140 bucks down the drain‍ read more

My toes we done nicely, but as they were slog my toes a lady did my nails. They are not the same length and the acrylic part is very thick and the paint is all over my skin. I did not ask for gel nor did I get gel but I payed for gel. I would not recommend this place read more

Every time I make an apt or call to check before coming in I still have to wait at least 30 minutes before they see me. Worst nail experience in my life. :( went in there with my mom. I don't know the lady's name but she did my nails and when she cut em they looked fine and then she filed them. And they looked terrible!!! I've gone to her before and they were great!! But I mean every single finger was crooked!!!! And she said it was my fingers. I tried to put my hand up and says okay we take em off lovely nails isn't for you. I work in customer service so I hate complaining. But it was the worst I've ever had. So she ripped me off with clippers. And "soaked" them off. My nails look like complete shit!!! I cried the entire time she took them off and she was unbelievably rude about it. I don't recommend this place! Got a gel manicure and the owner I'm assuming did my nails and he was buffing my nails and telling me how for gel manicures they don't drill your nails like how other shops do (basically putting other shops down and saying his is the best) and how damaging their techniques are and his are the best. He got done with my nails and the sidelines and cuticle of my nails weren't fully painted in with polish. He didn't evenly file my nails or cap the edges of my nails, therefore causing the edge of my nails to look sharp and scratchy. Plus with his so call "healthy" technique of buffing the nail instead of drilling I walked out with super paper thin nails that bend so easily and this has never ever happened before with other shops I've gone to. He over buffed my nails to the point where they were paper thin. I rather save my nails and money and drive 30 mins to Chico to where I usually get my nails done. read more

Very unprofessional and RUDE. Have been there 3 times and this was my last! Peter thinks he's way to special to acknowledge a client sitting at his station waiting for a PAID service. I sat there for 15 minutes while he answered the phone and smoked and NOT once did he acknowledge me. I got a full set of gel white tips, this is day 4 and ALL of the top coat is peeling off on every one of my nails. I had a very nice experience there today for a pedicure. It was comfortable and cool. A great get away from the heat. The lady who did my pedicure was very gentle with one of my toes, at my request, because the nail had finally grown back. All people were nice. Last week i went back to Lovley Nails to get my fill . Peter ask me how long it had been since i came in . I told him 4 weeks. And i told him that was perfet because thats usally how long it take before i could come back in since i work so much. He said thats too long. I said well thats what keeps me coming back. I kind of felt him get a little angry about that .He said you know this is a business . He did my nails and i could tell that they were not the same (very thin) . . I had payed for the fill plus gave him a $5.00 tip because thats what i always have done. So 4 days passed and all of them had broke and chipped on the bottom around my cutical. So i decided to go back in and ask of he could fix them then i went in he was very irritated that i had came in and said they were brakeing . So i show him and he was rough with my hand and twisting my fingers and was short with me saying" show me " !! Show me were they are broke . When it was very obvious. He filed them down at the bottom and said "So what do you want me to do about it ! I said can you please just fill the spots were they broke . He was mad and said " Ok , im going to charge you for it ! " I said no thank you im not paying twice for the same thing. He was very rude to me . So i left his establishment. Im not sure what i did to Peter for him to be so rude , because i was very polite about it. But this is just a warning! His wife and the other girls are very nice and do good work.
