I did some research for a local hairstylist and I came across Carrie and decided to give her a try. It was nice she has online booking... I usually don't book unless there's online booking. Anyways, I sat down and told Carrie I'm feeling ugly. I wanted a very asymmetrical Bob, which nobody seemed to be able to give me and some color underneath. I also have a hair, pulling disorder, called trichotillomania, and don't usually open up about it, but Carrie made me feel as if I could tell her anything. Since my hair had to be bleached, the process took several hours, but we talked the entire time. I feel like I've been friends with Carrie for years. At the end, I seriously teared up. I don't think she knew that because I felt absolutely wonderful by the haircut and the color. Carrie's incredibly humble and to my surprise when she showed me the price, I thought it was going to be a lot more. But given how humble she is, she refuses to charge an insane amount of money as some stylist do. If you love good music like, classic punk rock and Elvis Presley, you'll be in for a treat because Carrie does too. 100% recommend Carrie over and over again. Well I ended up with bleached , blonde highlights. They dont "blend in" at all. The reason for this rating is because I let her know in an email (to request appointment ) that I wanted dark bayalage highlights to on the dark side since my hair is so dark and also showed a picture of what I wanted upon arrival. I now literally travel over an HOUR in traffic.... from LA to her salon near Thousand Oaks..... just so she can color, cut and install my extensions. She asked if I wanted highlights and dimensions I said yes. Most of the references have highlights. What she gave me was the opposite of what I asked for. 12 hours before my vacation I ended up with bright blonde highlights on a dark brown base. I had darker hair then what I came in with somehow. I asked her why the color was dark she said it oxidized dark. I didn't question her. She told me she has done hair for 25 years. I don't believe that based on what I received. I explained I wanted the highlights to be copper. Once she started blowing out my hair I was getting incredibly upset. It wasn't even close to what I showed and we discussed. I had not touched my hair in a year to let it grow and get healthy. She botched it. I told her I was extremely upset. She told me she could fix it the next morning early before my flight and that she would text me. Unfortunately I had to leave for another appointment and paid her $400 for my hair. She wasted my time, my hair health, and my money. I shouldn't have paid her at all. After an hour I become really upset after getting a look of my hair in the sun. I called lather salon 12 times. No response. I decided to drive over because Kati had still not texted me to fix it. I showed up and she was gone. The salon owner was still there and tried to call her but nothing. She apologized but offered no real solution. Saying she was done and couldn't help me. She suggested to go down to one of the 7 salons on the street and try to get help. I did and found a gem of a stylist. She told me my hair was so botched she would have to lather my hair in bleach. Further having to destroy my hair health to undo what Kati had done. By the time I have the bleach on my hair I finally get a text from Kati. Offering a 50% refund because she also had give me a dusting. A dusting costs $200 apparently. Instead of going back and forth with a stylist who obviously didn't care about the service she provided just the money. I didn't continue fighting. The entire process I was in the dark about what was going on with my hair. Lies were told saying it's going to be copper. Do not come to this salon. They wrecked my hair and I had to spend more money fixing the damage she caused. But I guess it was worth $200 to her.
