Now, I know what you're thinking: "Gas station burrito? Really?" But if there's one thing I believe, it's that you can find delicious food anywhere. So, as we were heading out of town, we made a stop at Allsup's to try their famous Beef and Bean Burrito. Allsup's is a regional convenience store chain, primarily in New Mexico, West Texas, and Oklahoma, that's been serving up these burritos for over 50 years. With over 400 locations, they sell more than 27 million of these burritos every year. Although they're called burritos, they're more like chimichangas since they're deep fried to crispy perfection. Each Allsup's Beef and Bean Burrito is handmade with slow-cooked beans, beef, cheese, and a special blend of spices, all wrapped up and deep fried. The story behind these burritos is pretty cool too--they started in the 70s when a sales associate decided to deep fry the burritos to boost sales, and the rest is history! So, how did it taste? Honestly, it was the best gas station burrito or chimichanga I've ever had. It's hands-down better than any frozen, fast food, or fast casual version I've tried. The burrito was delicious, crave-worthy, and smothered in Allsup's taco sauce, which was the perfect pairing.

I'm not too freaked out by crickets, but I felt that the rest of the establishment was probably pretty filthy. Possibly other insects crawling/eating food items around the store. Yikes! Just think about that for a minute the next time you grab a drink or food item. The bathroom was a typical bathroom at a gas station. It was definitely no Buc-ee's. The Mexican rice bowl was delicious, and the steak in particular was excellent. The chai latte and strawberry colada were also both really good. Unfortunately, several other parts of the experience went downhill from there. I ordered the quinoa wrap specifically because I wanted a wrap, not a bowl. When it was brought out, the person delivering it actually said, "If it falls apart, I'm sorry." Sure enough, it immediately fell apart. It wasn't rolled properly, the opening was positioned on the bottom, and the tortilla was already extremely wet from the beans. There was essentially no way to pick it up and eat it as a wrap. I tried, failed, and had to dump everything into the container and eat it as a bowl. The resulting quinoa "bowl" was actually pretty good and was similar to the Mexican rice bowl, just with quinoa instead of Mexican rice. The problem is that I specifically ordered a wrap, not a bowl, and the amount of food I ended up with was considerably smaller than what comes with an actual bowl. My girlfriend ordered the Mexican rice bowl, and hers appeared to have roughly twice as much food as my wrap once it was dumped out. If the staff already knows a wrap is likely to fall apart before it even reaches the customer, that probably needs to be fixed rather than apologized for preemptively. The avocado toast was another disappointment. It was supposed to come with boiled egg, but the egg was missing. As soon as I noticed, I went to the front and asked whether it was supposed to include one. I was told, "Yes, but we are out." Nobody had mentioned that when we ordered or before serving it. When I pointed out that nobody told me, the response was simply "sorry," followed by looking away. There was no offer to substitute something, adjust the order, or otherwise make it right. I didn't ask for a refund because the money isn't really the issue. What bothered me was receiving something different from what I purchased and seeing essentially zero effort to address it. If you're out of an ingredient that's explicitly part of a menu item, just tell the customer before serving it so they can decide whether they still want it. The avocado toast itself was okay. My girlfriend liked it more than I did. Also, the sweet tea was definitely not sweet. I tipped over $12, and in hindsight I regret doing so. There was good food here, and some of it was genuinely delicious, but the service made the experience far more frustrating than it needed to be. Mistakes and shortages happen. What matters is how they're handled, and that's where this visit really fell short.

I immediately Called Southern Tire Mart , and I asked when they closed. It was 4:47 and I was told they closed at 5:00. I asked if they knew anyone open after 5:00 and they asked we what was going on. When I explained what had happened they asked me if the car was still drivable and when I told them I thought it was , they told me to come on up and they would take care of us , even if it was after 5:00. Well my Mother and I made it there and they fixed us right up! Our big fear was that there could be damage to the rim, but they assured us that was not the case and it only called for a patch. What a relief all around, and the cost was so reasonable at 10.00! They even made it easy for my Mother to get back in the car by backing our car up instead of her having to walk around! When the gentleman that fixed the tire personally came out to make sure we were happy, my Mom offered him a tip , which he refused saying he was just doing his Job! Thank You all again!
