Broken gas man hole cover caught my shoe and caused a fall. Manager took my info 9/13 but have not heard from anyone. My phone screen required repair, my wrist still hurts, and unsure if there's damage to my knee I cannot see. Not sure how else to reach someone. I contacted Loves on their corporate website. Manager did not seem to concerned with this problem in the thoroughfare where people drive to refuel. I suggested they put a cone so a car will not damage their wheels or tires or another person to potentially fall. Recently, my family and I had to drive from Virginia to Nevada. We found the love's travel stops to be the most convenient, clean, and friendly place to stop. I super love that in every bathroom they had an option to select whether you thought the bathroom was clean as you exit the door by pushing a thumbs up or thumbs down. They also have this really delicious organic cold pressed go green juice. I bought it every time we stopped in one!! Just writing about it now makes me want another one! read more

Directly next to the Gallup Indian Plaza, this Love's Travel Shop was a quick stop on our way to the Grand Canyon early in the month of April. My husband needed to fill up on gas, and I needed to use the ladies room. The bathrooms are clean, the gas is on the cheap side, especially if you get $.10 off when using their phone app. They have the same snacks you come to expect from a Love's travel shop like salads and even a container with hard boiled eggs. You can also buy the snacks you would expect from any gas station like combos or a bottle of soda. Employees were friendly and this location made a decent pitstop on our road trip. Worst Experience ever! Service writer Sebastian was lazy as hell and rude! Along with that so was the tire tech. The tech didn't even know I was also getting a tire pass and was ignoring me when I was trying to explain what me and the previous guy talked about. Ok my temper receded . I'm a positive guy that enjoys my life & positive reviews but not now. . Here's the beans: was under a load & did not have any lunch & had to use the restroom and fuel. Had my big boy pants on & held my mother natures phone call. Put fuel & left the bay & front of bay clear (was wrong for parking in the red zone) but left plenty of space to allow to flow plus another driver was doing the same in front of me. Lady told me I can't park there... ok she won so moved truck back to an air pump station (not really needing trailer air) but fair excuse to goto restroom & buy quick subway. . Used restroom (tinkle only) & washed my mits & then jumped in the subway line (next in line) employee jumps onto speaker to the store staring drama for no real reason rattling off immediate THREAT TO TOW TRUCK IN TRAILER! For sure was instructed from the manager to make the threat. Flustered because at the moment no other driver was honking or complaining about the trucks location. Called back to apologize to the employee because it wasn't his fault to make that call. Raised my voice explaining that im trailer air on trailer !man! He replied something like the air is at the shop! Back to me & I shook my head hope I said thank you & left. . If someone's truck was in danger or immediate safety hazard was the concern then they should remove the work card reader at the air pump & advise it's not working. . I stop here frequently for gas, when traveling through town. It's not one of my favorite stops to be honest. Too few gas pumps and too much parking lot traffic. Getting off and on the freeway is not for the faint of heart either. The inside of the Love's is small and crowded with too few restrooms. Having said that, they do have a Subway inside but more importantly they also have a Chester's Chicken here as well. Chester's Chicken is, in my opinion, the perfect traveling food. You can just set the bag of chicken strips on the seat next to you and scarf away contentedly while the miles roll by. read more

There's a reason this place is so busy; it's a great place to gas up, empty out, and stock up. The gas prices were some of the better ones I've seen in a while (but that's not saying much as I'm coming from California) and the window cleaning squeegees had extra long handles for us shorties. I just wanna start by saying I have excellent reviews on loves and never received bad customer service however New Mexico Gallup store has some of the rudest people that work on your counters A security guard who likes to stare People down like he's fucking crazy when they're walking in your store not knowing I'm a truck driver and won't break his stare. A long ass line to get sandwiches two workers working and only one working and to top it off I buy a sandwich that cost me $12.43 and my bank says I was charged two more times and in my statement it says that I was charged three times that is $36 for a sandwich that cost $12.43 and then when I call they tell me that there's not a manager on shift I explain to them that I am going to be driving through a snowstorm in Colorado tomorrow and the guy says oh well you're just going to have to call or find time to call and talk to someone because I can't do anything about that sorry have a good night and hangs up absolutely no concern very rude and I hope that you check your calling recording boxes and cameras Also go through a few trainings with your employees because your store sucks whoever you are. We plan our cross country trips by stopping at Love's because of their bathrooms and most importantly their dog parks. This one had no fenced in dog park. Just a waste bag can. Bathroom was maybe a 4/10 for cleanliness and comfort. read more

We seem to stop here every time we're passing through Gallup, whether heading east OR west. It's super-convenient right off the freeway (I-40). Quick in and out.. OR one can walk around and stretch their legs. It even has a place for dog walking! The bathrooms are large and clean. The convenience store is big, BIG. It has a wide selection of drinks and snacks. Many you don't often see anymore, so it's really nice. They have many types of gadgets for truckers and road trips (cell phone chargers, DVDs, and SO much more!). All at reasonable prices. Did I mention the restrooms were clean? They are. Probably the main reason we keep coming back: It's reliable. Across the parking lot, there's a "Navajo Travel Plaza". They sell lots of Navajo blankets, clothing, gems, and jewelry. My wife likes that. It's just another reason to stop at this Love's: Restroom and snacks in Love's, wander over there to stretch legs. On our way home to Kansas from a trip to California we stopped here. We needed gas, it was probably 6pm? Ish? There was a van parked with a man sitting behind it with a sign that said "need gas, anything will help" and he had a 5 gallon gas can. I was on my way inside to prepay for fuel so i said hey bring your gas can over by my car I'll spot you a few bucks. I go in and prepay. I come out and start putting gas in his gas can before i fill my car, the pump stops about the same time a man employee from loves starts yelling at me that "we don't allow gas cans here!" I was thrown off and confused and I asked why? He didn't answer but just keeps yelling "No gas cans!, no cans allowed!". ....So I said "Im sorry dude, I didn't know!. About that time i noticed my pump stopped. So i go back in and i say hey my pump isnt working, the lady at the counter says yeah we stopped it because you have a gas can, so i said "oh, Im sorry we didnt know gas cans weren't allowed." She restarted the pump, i told the dude maybe just pull in behind me and you can have the rest of what i prepaid. So he did....they stopped the pump again. At which point I'm understanding that they dont want me helping anyone out with gas....but i go in again and ask whats up. At which time the lady behind the counter turns to me and LOUD says "We ToLd YOU nO PaNHanDLing!!!" To which i said, "No what you said was no gas cans, thats not the same message."..... So. Luvs. Instead of telling people they cant loiter or running off your panhandlers that are apparently an issue, you instead humiliate paying customers?? That seems like a bad business plan to me. I didn't have a great experience here but it wasn't bad the food was regular gas station food and the cashiers were mostly socializing in the back which was pretty annoying having to wait at the gas station for a long time. And there was no theme or design in there and the bathroom was disgusting. Sorry for the bad review it is ok to stop there for gas or a bite, but it's nothing special or good. read more

I love Loves! I stopped at a number of them on my most recent travel and I will be posting the same review on each one because they were all basically the same. I mean, literally, until right now, I thought I had stopped at the same Loves on the way home that I stopped at the way there. What I have found is their washrooms are the cleanest. Their gas prices are also fair and there are always people around which is a nice feeling for a lonely gal traveling well, alone. I was stoked to find some "fresh"ish fruit in an ice bin when I stopped for gas, coffee and bathroom. I hadn't seen that and didn't even know I wanted grapes until they were right there. Not to mention, most of them have Subway or some other quick place to eat inside. I love Loves, that's it and that was my theme during the trip. I didn't want to stop anywhere else but at a Loves and I'm glad there were so many to stop in at. read more

Came here at 8:30am with my family of 4. Chip reader on the pump doesn't work. Forces you to go in the store? The parking lot is dirty with trash and smells like pee and poo, probably from pets and humans. After filling up, we pulled into a shaded parking area. There were shattered glass all over the parking spaces. A man, who looked like he was up to no good, approached us while I had my kids out of the car. He asked what time and walked away back to the door of the store. After about 10 minutes, a different man who also looked like he was up to no good asked us for the time. After we told him, he squatted under the tree about 3 feet in front of our car. I noticed him making eye contact and gestures towards the first guy... we felt extremely uncomfortable so I immediately buckled the kids back into the car as my husband watched our surroundings. I have a pretty good inclination to danger and this felt like it could have been that. read more

Stopped for gas and restroom while traveling. The last couple Love's we stopped at had clean and well maintained restrooms. This location proves that Love's CANNOT be relied on for consistently maintained restrooms. 2 of the 4 stalls had broken off locks so tissue was stuffed into the big holes left (for privacy). Toilet seat covers empty. This was 10:30 am-no excuse for late in day nor too early. Restrooms and entire place was just grungy. read more

Wow?! It's late afternoon on Christmas Eve. We are traveling to Elida, NM due to our Matriarch's emergency triple bypass surgery, in a rented Airstream. Stopped for gas at this Gallup, NM Love's Travel Stop and realized the electrical wiring cable for RV lights had come loose and had shredded. Without lights and in inclement weather, we were essentially stranded. We saw the Love's Truck Tire Care and took a chance. The mechanic not only said he could fix it but was also willing to drive elsewhere for the necessary part and then in the damp, freezing cold repaired it better than any I've seen (included a safety latch and zip tie to ensure it can't happen again)! It was worth every penny. Incredible service! They also had a great convenience store and two fast food restaurant choices. Love's is now our "go to" when on the interstates! read more

I just left this loves and pray on my next route through NM it doesn't take me through Gallup. First of all let's touch basis on the obvious STANK!!!! In the air and in the attitudes of the employees. It's not clean and really smells like your walking into a sewage plant, I just drove from CA through AZ, end up here to stop and use the facilities and grab a bite to eat. So it's only two people at the sandwich station understanding on my behalf that it may take awhile since there were ppl ahead of me, However once it was up to me there was no interaction or excuse me while I help this guy who skipped the Line down to chester's. Fast forward you got the Michelin Man (Heavy set guy at the front register) staring you down and thinking he's striking fear in you, obviously looking for trouble and making the guest feel very uncomfortable. Training would be an understatement to use when describing what that store and its employees need. Whoever is the owner needs to reevaluate the employees and get rid of all of whom was there tonight and start over with new employees except the lady who greets you when walking in. Throw the whole few away. I will definitely make it my business to by pass Gallup NM if that's the only loves there distasteful, funny how all the unhealthy looking employees had the stank and bad vibe on them but the one healthy looking lady was the only kind and courteous person there. Love's Gallup, NM - I've always enjoyed stopping at Love's when I am traveling, whether back home in California or here in New Mexico. Love's are usually located right off exits on main highways allowing for easy access both on and off the freeways which is nice when you're traveling. Their gas prices are some of the lowest available along the road. Their convenience stores are lean and well stocked. What struck me about this particular Love's is that they offered so many healthy snack and meal options. There is a Subway Sandwich shop inside the main convenience store if you'd like a healthy salad or sandwich for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. There were also several ice filled tubs located around the store with healthy snacks like fruit cups or broccoli and carrots with dip priced two for $5. There was even an artfully displayed stack of bananas on the counter near the main register. If you're not as worried about eating healthy, there is a Chester's fried chicken takeout counter inside the store, and a number of chips, candy, and other goodies for sale. Their selection of refrigerated drinks is very good, and they not only offer Diet Pepsi, Diet Coke, and Diet Dr. Pepper in the soda fountain, but they also had 'flavor blasts', flavored syrup shots that be added to any drink. I had a Diet Dr. Pepper and added some vanilla syrup for fun. They offered six different varieties of coffee, mor than I have seen anywhere but in Danville, California. I'm talking REAL coffee, not flavored powdered mixed with water as it comes out of the machine (check out the pictures). The convenience stores also offers a variety of items such as cute blingy flip flops, DVDs, even cords and chargers for electronic devices. Love's has a much wide selection of items for sale than would be carried by an AM/PM or a Circle K. This makes a great all-in-one stop for gas, food, machines, beverages, and random supplies you've forgotten to pack. Stop in and check it out! read more

I always stop here on my way to Albuquerque to get the chicken. It is Chester's chicken. There's also a subway in there. I take a bucket of chicken home. My wife loves it. I usually eat the subway. It was an OK experience the lines were long with Subway. But the food was normative. Chicken experience can always be hit or miss. I don't think they make enough at certain times. So either had to settle with a few slim pickings or wait 25 minutes for them to make more chicken. They also ran out of biscuits. I'm not sure how that could happen if you're planning well. There are usually people asking for money in the parking lot. Just an FYI but they've always been harmless to me. read more

The truck parking is a joke! Actually out of all of the loves stations I've been to this one has got to be the worst for truck parking. The store is decent. You can tell it's an older store but the staff were friendly. It gave me a break from driving in the wind but I had to park in a no parking spot next to a run down building.
