Directly next to the Gallup Indian Plaza, this Love's Travel Shop was a quick stop on our way to the Grand Canyon early in the month of April. My husband needed to fill up on gas, and I needed to use the ladies room. The bathrooms are clean, the gas is on the cheap side, especially if you get $.10 off when using their phone app. They have the same snacks you come to expect from a Love's travel shop like salads and even a container with hard boiled eggs. You can also buy the snacks you would expect from any gas station like combos or a bottle of soda. Employees were friendly and this location made a decent pitstop on our road trip. The location was also convenient because we stopped inside the neighboring businesses to continue to stretch our legs.

After being on the 40 across three states I noticed the Chester's in New Mexico. Decided to stop at the this stop. I'm not sure if these are only found at gas stations, but If I knew in was at a gas stop I would not have stopped. This is a busy stop. A lot of movement. People walking around checking on cars. The restrooms were clean. The items looked pricier than other Gas station.

Best Travel Stop off Interstate 40 in New Mexico! Super friendly employees and sparkling clean restrooms. Today is Christmasand this has been the ONLY place we have been to today that had cheerful employees exhibiting the Holiday Spirit. I totally understand that nobody wants to work on Christmas, but if you are working, why not spread some holiday cheer . There is also a Subway Restaurant here. I highly recommend this travel stop for fuel and/or food ( or restroom)

Bathrooms were ok. Friendly staff Old station but clean. Cute stop with food and gift novelties. Gas was cheap for 2023. 2.99 p/g but gas poured over no auto stop. Car smells like gas now. Yuck.

    The location of air pump.

Ok my temper receded . I'm a positive guy that enjoys my life & positive reviews but not now. . Here's the beans: was under a load & did not have any lunch & had to use the restroom and fuel. Had my big boy pants on & held my mother natures phone call. Put fuel & left the bay & front of bay clear (was wrong for parking in the red zone) but left plenty of space to allow to flow plus another driver was doing the same in front of me. Lady told me I can't park there... ok she won so moved truck back to an air pump station (not really needing trailer air) but fair excuse to goto restroom & buy quick subway. . Used restroom (tinkle only) & washed my mits & then jumped in the subway line (next in line) employee jumps onto speaker to the store staring drama for no real reason rattling off immediate THREAT TO TOW TRUCK IN TRAILER! For sure was instructed from the manager to make the threat. Flustered because at the moment no other driver was honking or complaining about the trucks location. Called back to apologize to the employee because it wasn't his fault to make that call. Raised my voice explaining that im trailer air on trailer !man! He replied something like the air is at the shop! Back to me & I shook my head hope I said thank you & left. . If someone's truck was in danger or immediate safety hazard was the concern then they should remove the work card reader at the air pump & advise it's not working. . Nothing against loves as a company but management is ruthlessly inconsiderate for this incident. What yelp think ?

I was triple charged for a sandwich that cost 12 and 43 cents at loves subway

Panhandlers drive you crazy at the pumps. Going from car to car asking for money. Decent price for gas but nerve wracking if traveling solo.

*Everything in this review is from the perspective of an almost 40 year old, working class person,…read morewho is by no means a jetsetter, but has been around the block and worked / traveled around the country enough to know better* ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ "Hey man, I'm just doing my job...you don't have to give everyone an attitude." - Anonymous male employee ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Folks...instead of being a victim, pulling the race card, and especially before "akkin a fool" at your store, let me instead pose to you these simple questions, preferably for the next team meeting (if you even conduct those at your establishment): 1) When was the last time any of you reminded each other to smile at work? Either for each other, or for the customers. 2) When was the last time any of you said "Welcome in!", or "Welcome to El Sabino!", or "Have a great day!"? 3) When was the last time any of you offered your own names, or even attempted to have a quick interaction with any of your customers? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I'll own it if I'm perhaps a little cranky because I forgot my ID and roll my eyes at having to drive home after working all night, that's on me. But guess what? You work in customer service, at a liquor store. I've worked at liquor stores, and at bars, and a couple night clubs, and I know for a fact that your hardened shells and grim faces as you conduct the necessary, but mundane and repetitive daily operations at your store are a failure of your leadership, and management. (Most likely the big ex college football player bro guy who has never been rude to me, but who also kind of walks around aloof, unengaging, with one air pod in) While I certainly don't walk into a mom-and pop or franchise liquor store expecting to be "wow-ed", I can certainly say as a new-comer to New Mexico who has had a 93% positive experience just about everywhere I've traveled to across the state........that you guys are super wack, and need to stop projecting your frustration onto customers, and that means any customer, as long as they are paying, and abide by all the signs posted on your door; indicative of how many truly intoxicated and actually unpleasant people you deal with every hour. You might be the only place within 15 miles of the Rez to buy booze and snacks for people passing through, or on their way home from work...but don't let it go to your heads. Fix your face, fix your attitude, and pause before you accuse a paying customer of having one. Thank you for relieving me of the displeasure of ever having to kick myself for forgetting to buy my beer on the way home from Gallup....I'll save money, and keep my spirits where they need to be, considering the admittedly slum lord prices you guys charge for everything in the store, especially the gas station level food. Having said all that, the 2 stars is for semi-convenience, and the cool selection of vintage candy. Will not bother posting a picture of this converted gas-station dump. Park the brand new Toyota Tacoma in the shade genius, it's better for re-sale value. and don't forget to whistle while you work. :D ----------------- Update -------------------- Instead of calling me 12 times from multiple numbers and leaving incorrectly addressed voicemails.....have just one team meeting, and take a step towards addressing your workplace culture. It would probably take less time, and result in more business. PS - Before expressing my opinion, I checked out what other people thought....yall know you got some work to do. Thanks and regards

This place has some of the rudest employees you will ever encounter, specifically this chubby lady…read morewith a short lesbian haircut. The first encounter I had with this lady was when I arrived to the store just before they open and was waiting outside for them to unlock the doors. after a bit I noticed the time they should have open past but I continued to wait on a Sunday morning. after about 20mins of waiting she comes to the door and says her coworker hasn't shown up so she's not going to open the store. When I asked when they might open she just muttered something and shut the door on me. On the second encounter I think she recognized me and when I get up to the counter I give her my id and ask for a bottle and she just says "no, not today." I asked her why and she started saying I was drunk. I told her I hadn't had a drop of alcohol and would gladly take a breathalyzer or sobriety test. Then she just rudely tells me to go somewhere else. which I did and will continue to do. Avoid this liquor store whenever possible, it's just cheaper down the road anyways. and if u must go try to avoid eye contact with the lesbian haircut lady.
