There was no litter in the parking area, the bins at the pump area were not overfull, the men's room was clean, and the coffee area was well stocked. This place has all the basics covered. Gas is competitively priced, they've got what you'd expect at a Love's, and there are both a McDonald's and a Chester's here. The area around the pumps is not well marked, and trying to navigate to one of them can be a bit of a free-for-all when it's busy. The shop inside is a bit smaller than other Love's I've visited. The men's room had not been cleaned for a while, wads of paper and wet spots in many places on the floor. It's still an okay place to stop, just be a little careful as you drive or walk around. read more

Really decent spot here! Food/Drink: Plenty of snacks, chips, jerky, sweets, taquitos, and fountain drinks. Dinning Area: None. Prices: Relatively inexpensive, minus the big ticket items. Parking: Plenty of space, side and back private lots. Bathrooms: Bathrooms were clean and well stocked. Stock: Plenty of items, all stocked well. Clearly priced, and placed in correct areas. I reach out to the corporate office and spoken to Davis Osborn-Davis.Osborn@loves.com in Risk Management regarding the false charges of the work that wasn't performed by two of the Loves 'Travel Stop. After further investigation he stated he would reimbursed me $873.23 which I never received and he has never returned my email or phone calls. I also stated I would recommend that the cost of the radiator in the amount of $1.258.74 and the labor expense in the amount of $955.45 be refunded since the other location never correctly repaired which caused me to replace it within 2 weeks of the previous invoice refund that has been exhibited in the prior email which shown discrepancies from Magee's location -1790 Simpson Hwy 49, Magee, MS 39111 regarding the following company compliance and practices. Friendly staff with a Chester's and Subway attached to it. Keep in mind that this a super busy pit stop, but bathrooms are clean. We usually hit the Chester's for the 6 piece tender combo (no drink) and it is pricey at $10.99, however, I noticed their fried chicken gizzard was a popular option! There is grassy area for relieving your dogs. Overall, a good place to stop. read more

You got to love Love's. This chain of truck stops is chock full of most every form of snack food, accessories, fast food and truck related services. And there is most always a fast food restaurant or two, even sometimes a restaurant/coffee shop, showers and rest rooms. I was driving to and from Lewisburg, West Virginia to attend the funeral of one of my Vietnam War soldiers, so needed a comfortable place to stop, rest and refuel myself and my car. And...they have Chester's Chicken. Chester's is excellent fried chicken AND they sell freshly fried livers and gizzards. Well, that was an instant taste of heaven to me. I got back in the car with a half pound of them to munch on while driving. Iced tea is great, also. The restrooms are very clean, so not to worry while traveling. I like most Love's travel stops. This one is "ok", it had all the amenities that one would expect. Food, gas, bathrooms, and friendly cashier(s). I would recommend giving this location are try. We often travel from Texas to Maryland and stop at Love's the whole way. There is a Love's along the highway about every 50-60 miles so it's always nice to stop and rest there. Minimal parking for truckers, the showers are an ok size. There's no dog park but it's plenty of walking room to relieve your dog. Only downside was the high priced chester chicken 2 tenders was over $6 with tax. There's a Dairy Queen across the street but they only have hot dogs, chips , milkshakes and blizzards. read more

Don't bother to stop at the max meadows, va loves if you need ANY tire work of any kind done. They are the laziest tech I have ever seen, especially the night shift 1. When I complained to the manager about it he said the guy was in the shop when it was obviously empty, locked & an out to lunch sugn had been hanging on the door for over 2 hrs. The manager stood right there & straight faced lied about it & then called me a liar when I had been on the list for 4 hrs & sitting directly in front of the shop. Clean rest rooms, good coffee, and friendly staff. Not much to write about a truck stop. I won't stop at an off the highway gas station if it isn't a "truck stop." Tip. Truckers use these places as a second home so restrooms are clean and there's always hot food if you need it. On our journey from New York to South Carolina we stopped at this loves travel stop which seems like a hit among truck drivers and road tripers alike. Chester's chicken was recommended to me by my mother and upon purchase it was lightly breaded and delicious fresh chicken I couldn't ask for more after 12 hours in the car. Staff was great. Bathrooms/showers were extremely clean. Parking is limited. Plenty of food and a grocery store within walking distance. Originally parked here to get food across the street but was very impressed with the quality of this Love's. Avoid this exit if possible. Kids had to use the bathroom, so we pulled over. Unfortunately, the bathrooms were gross and overflowing with garbage, poorly designed, and poorly lit. The whole building was jammed packed with merchandise and an older building. I gave more than 1 star because they had a good number of gas pumps. read more

I had a very bad experience with the Chesters Fried Chicken inside the Loves Truck Stop off of I 81. The cashier/cook named Heather was very rude, disruptive and even called me an "ol Bastard". I'm a Pastor and causing any kind of disturbance is not in my character. I was totally caught off guard by only asking questions that should never have escalated to the point of the whole lobby becoming concerned. This type of customer service is more deflecting than it is inviting. If I can help it, I'll never stop there again. I just hope no one else has this experience with Ms Heather or the manager. Ok...this place is NOT closed...it totally should be...but its not. Mullets, Over-alls, and buck teeth abound (not that theres anything wrong with that if thats your thing :-/). I stepped out of my car and into a scene from Deliverance...someone literally cued the banjo duel. As I pumped my gas I watched an older gentleman who looked like he drank one to many Four Loko's on accident (1 is too many)...topple over mid pump and fall to the ground. So odd, but so funny. As the old man picked himself up, I tried to find a place to hide my face (you know out of respect) but my eyes meet a skeevy truck driver who was staring at my girlfriends "lovely lady lumps" from behind another gas pump. It was clear by this time we should have held out for the Hess, Exxon, or ANY other gas station for that matter, this place is not a good look. read more

My friend and I stopped in here on our way to DC for gas. It's amazing how people can manage in the middle of nowhere! The inside is clean enough and the food didn't make me sick so I guess you win an A-OK. Yeah I bought fried chicken from a gas station. Don't judge me I was hungry. read more

My brother is a truck driver and stopped at this truck stop last night to fuel, eat and sleep, the next morning (today) his truck did not start and decided to use the service of mechanics of this truck stop, the mechanic said the Starter had to be replaced because it was damaged, my brother told him it was just one of the cables of the solenoid that was broken but the mechanic said it was not the problem and he said again that the starter had to be replaced, brother decided to fix the split cable and connect it and could start the truck, this means that these people do not have scruples and deceive to earn more money, so I recommend you to be careful with these practices that use in this place where honesty does not exist . read more

The shower was pretty gross. Hair in the shower, dirty mirror, dirty toilet. Looked like the shower hadn't been cleaned prior to us using it. Disappointing. read more
