When you pull up to this gas station in rural Davie County, the last thing that goes through your mind is "I want to eat some Italian food here". Well, you would be surprised to find that the food here is actually pretty good. The pizzas are made fresh. A lot of the Italian dishes are made from scratch. You can see the cook in the front making your food. It is a pleasant surprise to say the least. FYI, Crossroads Mart is the name of the gas station. You will also see references to The New Yorker Pizza which I believe is a franchise for the restaurant side. Summary - New York style pizzas - Good Italian food including pastas, calzones, spaghetti, and alfredo dishes - Subs, cheese steaks, burgers and hot dogs for those who want something else - There is NO official web site, but you can find "The New Yorker Pizza" menus on the web. - You can't order online, which sucks. You have to call in your order if you are carrying out or having it delivered. - They do deliver for free if the order is over a certain amount - There are a few booths if you want to eat inside the gas station - The pizza prices are higher than the chains but they do have specials you can take advantage of If you find yourself just south of Mocksville on US 64 then I highly recommend Crossroads Mart (AKA The New Yorker Pizza) read more

I was dubious. Hesitant. Incredulous. How could a gas station convenience store POSSIBLY make a decent pizza? Well...they do. Let's start at the beginning. I made my annual trip to the Davie County Solid Waste Transfer Station (or as everyone else calls it: the dump), and on my way back I had to stop at the Crossroads Mart to tie down a misbehaving empty box. A neon sign in the window declared that inside you could find pizza, wings, subs, stramboli (sic), and calzone. In a convenience store? And not the ubiquitous Hunt Brothers pizza? My curiosity got the best of me, so I went in. They were not cooking yet, but they had a full fledged commercial grade kitchen and a 97.5 sanitation grade. I asked the clerk about their offerings, and she proudly gave me a menu and bragged about their popularity and touted their delivery service. I took the menu, which has a great deal more than just pizza, and left. My curiosity continued to smolder until I decided I had to give it a try. As the bank robber said to Clint "Dirty Harry" Eastwood in 1971's Dirty Harry: "I gots to know". (Yes, that is my second Dirty Harry reference in as many days.) I called the store and a woman with a very deadpan, monotone voice answered. I told her I would like to place an order for delivery--a large pizza with pepperoni and mushrooms. I was flatly told "we're out of mushrooms". No apology. I stammered for a moment as I altered my order, changing it to pepperoni, sausage, and black olives. She asked me to hold, and then a man came on the line to give me my total and flatly said "we'll have it out there as soon as possible". What does THAT mean? It means 45 minutes. I'm actually fine with that. I live 13 miles/20 minutes away. The delivery driver also won no points for Mr. Congeniality--he was by no means impolite, but he betrayed no emotion whatsoever, not even when I laid a $10 tip on him! But it's really all about the pizza, right? The pizza itself was very respectable, and is a nice departure from the other delivery places. The toppings were tasty and of acceptable portion size. The crust had a very good taste as well. I found myself pleased and pleasantly surprised. So if you live in the Mocksville area, don't discount this viable pizza option just because it's in a convenience store--they make a good pie! read more

Wings are great got no complaints on the food. But me an my wife called in a delivery order at 640 pm. called to cancel bc it had been 2 hrs was told it had done left an we never seen it. Thats the first time ever dont know whats going on up there but u might wanna get them people out of there. read more

Love the calzones!! Perfectly cooked with lots of yummy, gooey cheese. My husband and I can only finish half our calzones in one sitting. No problem!! You can pop them back in the oven and feast on calzone leftovers!! read more

This is the worst place ever to order food!!! They are never on time and when you call back the manager acts like it's your fault. Every since the new ownership this place has went way down hill. Are you looking for the worlds WORST customer service? If so, I'd suggest this place. Literally will never spend another cent at this place. If they get your order wrong and you call to let them know that it was wrong (no complaining, just saying hey just wanted to let you know my order wasn't right) the owner will be sure its your fault. You sir, need to not be in the customer service industry if you could care less about your customers... You know, the people who keep YOUR business open..... What a joke you are. I ordered delivery multiple times and was always satisfied! My fav. Is deffenitly the strombolli, which are huge! The pizza is great though I have not tried the wings yet. You can easily feed 3 for under $20 and they are scary fast! Their stombolli and pizza can both be very greasy and can be messy eating. Over all it is sooo worth it!! read more

The food is great. However prices are becoming a little extreme for a short order restaurant in a convenience store. Buyer beware the last two delivery orders my family placed we've been over charged. The first time we didn't notice because the driver did not give us the sales receipt. However on the second attempt when my bill was 79 dollars, I refused to sign and immediately called them. Do to crossroads already processing my credit card they quickly returned with the cash they owed me. I've bought from this company for 15 years and never had any problems till recently. I truly hope they correct there current issues because they have outstanding food. read more
