Very clean but I'm disappointed there wasn't more soap in the bathroom. Two dispensers at 9 am shouldn't be completely empty. There isn't a huge drink selection for soda/juice/kombucha. Worst Loves we've ever used pulling our fifth wheel. Go to the OTHER place at this exit. Exit and turn RIGHT, not left to Loves. Truck lanes are situated such that you must queue and form a semi circle. This ends up blocking the lanes of semis wanting to park. When you are able to get near the pumps, oh one of them is down. Oh and two of them are blocked by trucks doing who knows what inside. I saw two truckers complete their fueling and STILL waited for the trucker in front of them to come move their rig. The whole time the speaker advises for those done to move forward. Then there are the cheaters. The ones that know that you can follow the Auto entrance and sneak in to the right of those queuing. Then they act shocked when you get angry they cut in. The bathrooms weren't gross but they were NOT CLEAN. And finally, the "dog area" is carpeted and DISGUSTING. Poo everywhere. Well, traveling from Arizona to Texas came across this love. There's actually multiple left throughout the interstate in route to Texas. This one happened to be very clean. The staff was friendly and gas. Pricing were a lot cheaper here in Texas than they were in Arizona so that was a beautiful site to see. Blessed - we are very blessed upon all that Freddy the general manager did for us at loves. We walked in and ask him if he knew who had printer services, as we were journeying back home to California from being with our daughter in Texas who passed away. Freddy helped us with the printing in a way that will always be part of our memories. Their bathrooms were clean as well, had lots of staff taking care of everyone. I'd have to agree on a 3-Star rating here. The premises were not very clean (especially the bathroom). Outside, there were no towels in the dispenser by the fuel pumps, and when I indicated I wanted a printed receipt, nothing came out. On a positive note, the place seemed well stocked with the usual items - snacks, drinks, and auto accessories. Gas. They have it. You need it. So you stop. Great parking? Easily navigable pumps and parking lot? That's a hard no. I almost hit several people walking through the parking lot from the pumps to the store, talking on their telephones like zombies without even paying attention to their surroundings. Great Place to Stop on your Interstate 10 Drive ! There's a Subway attached and friendly employees who greet you when you walk in This place is Super Busy and I can see why ! I love Love's and trust them with all my needs while I'm on a long roadtrip. This one is admittedly subpar compared to most of my experiences at their facilities. It's a bit smaller than most, with fewer offerings at not as good of prices! :( I couldn't find a package of donettes under $2, and the soda fountain prices were all hiked above a dollar no matter the size. Love's usually has great bargains for those needing a snack and refresh. Additionally, the restrooms were not very clean... stuff was scattered all over the floors in the stalls, and no one had changed out the toilet roll and just set it across the back of the john instead. There was a lengthy line to checkout because for awhile there was only a single cashier. Maybe they're just having a staffing issue causing some of these issues, but this location could use some "spit and polish" to bring it up to the standard I'm used to seeing at Love's. read more

There aren't many options for surface travel [by bicycle or (motor)vehicle or walking/hiking] here on the Northern Chihuahua Desert from El PasoTX-USA, and I-10 is a major East-West road. Usually I'm in a (motor) vehicle, and after more than a year of the cursed COVID19 pandemic crisis restrictions, my most favorite #1 daughter requested me to help her relocate within the awesome community of AustinTX-USA. Even though I was only half inoculated, I eagerly accepted my duty as "Dad". Anyway, this is an extremely regular fuel/bathroom/food/stretch stop (going East or West) and likely the last (if going West) or first (if going East). I really like the "pay-at-the-pump" feature, which means not having to go inside initially. All major cards are accepted. I also like the segregation between the big 18-wheeler tractor-trailers from the much smaller 4-wheels/family "cars". The super staff easily work with all customers regardless of whatever vehicle they are driving. Always important, this fantastic station is crucial for roadusers rest & recuperation. The truck entrance is terribly designed so if there is any kind of line for semis they are forced to wait on the on-ramp where they block traffic for normal drivers. Also, they advertise there being a dog park on site. There is a fenced in area, but it has nothing but a bunch of gravel. Being in the middle of the desert, this isn't a smart stop for your dogs due to high temperature on their paws. Overall, disappointed. read more

Despite being inundated by a charter bus full of Mexicans, a small bunch of truck drivers trying to get gas and pay for their items, and other travelers such as myself, he kept a cool head and had a great sense of humor. Reliable in it's layout & offerings, every one I've been to is clean. Vast array of food & beverages, a fun place to buy & try lots of crap food while road tripping. Also lots of misc things to buy that you didn't know you needed until you wander the isles & see them. THE BATHROOMS ARE CLEAN! The coffee options are pretty good. Traveling back home and stopped in Van Horn for the night. Subway and the employees at loves both need better customer skills in my opinion. Went to subway and asked if they were open. Woman said we are we're just busy restocking. Both employees continued talking about other employees and what was out of stock. Working in food service myself, when customers come in you stop what you're doing no matter what. Also purchased stuff from the loves gas station. Stood in line, no customers ahead of me while both cashiers just looked at me and talked about issues that other customers were having outside. Do better guys read more

Van Horn is a run down feeling town and none of the stops are great (we've stopped at most of them over 10 years), but this one is the best. This is your standard issue midsize Love's. It's usually quite busy. Commonly we find a wait for the pump and a wait for the restrooms. Women's restroom has 4 stalls, and there's always a line of women waiting during in the dinner hours. The restrooms are usually clean and have the great sanitary features of handsfree towels and no entry door. The men's restroom has 4 stalls and 4 urinals and is usually clean. Food is the usual truck stop junk with hot dogs and a full Subway sandwich shop with seating. read more

Next best thing to BUC-EE's in Texas! It's located near the interstate so you don't need to go that far out of your way. It seems to have been recently renovated & the restrooms are very clean. It was busy but it wasn't crowded & the staff was friendly. Subway sandwich restaurant located here as well. The gas prices were better here than other places. read more

UPDATE...they are now back open and all construction is done. They added a Subway and the store is all clean and updated. Nice to have it back open for our I-10 travels. Wow - this place is booming. It's kind of hidden behind another big-name gas-station, but I stopped here because their gas was 10 cents cheaper than the big name station. Sure glad I came here, it seems their gas price pretty much attracted all of the business in the area. The inside was really busy! Usually if I see an empty gas station, I'll go elsewhere since I get nervous if no one else is around. This station had so many employees and customers. We cannot share enough good comments about Love's Travel Stop in Van Horn, TX. We were traveling from California to return home in Texas. We had a flat tire while at a pump at the Van Horn store. We went into the store to ask for assistance with our flat tire. The manager was there and quickly offered to call the Love's semi truck repair service to see what they could do to help. After some discussion, it was decided to change the flat tire out for the full sized spare. Another customer offered to help with the job. In short order, we were back on the road to continue our trip to San Antonio. The kindness of the manager, the repairman, and the good samaritan cannot be overstated. Came here for the Subway sandwich shop inside but its a full service convenience store also. Saw that there were showers for the truckers also if that's something you might need. For the most part, everything was clean and bathrooms are usable and not disgusting. Not much else at this exit but a nice stop along the boring I-10 to refresh yourself and take a break. read more

To whom it may concern, In June of 2011, I happened to pass through Van Horn, TX. Rather than put up with the noise at the truck stop, I asked a law enforcement officer if it was safe to park on the street in town, he said yes, and that I would have no problem. So I did, and of course I awoke to a $75.00 ticket on my windshield. The ticketing officer didn't even knock to see if the vehicle was occupied, or to tell me that I couldn't park there, (I had no way of knowing that I couldn't). I went to City Hall and informed a woman of the situation. She said that it must have been a county deputy I talked to, and that if I had parked on the other side of I-10, outside of the city limits, there wouldn't have been a problem. In March of this year I happened to be passing by again, and against my better judgment, I stopped to take care of a problem with my motor home. Being late in the day I was going to stay at the truck stop, get my parts and do the repair the next day. But just in case, I asked the Pilot gas station manager/owner (?) if I would get a ticket staying overnight at the truck stop. He said that I would, and that I HAD to stay at one of the RV lots. I told him that I understood that side of I-10 was out of the city, he said it was not. So rather than do ANY business in Van Horn, I went on down the road. I did NOT buy gas ($150.00+), I did NOT go to McDonalds to eat or rent a movie, I did NOT buy parts from NAPA, I did NOT stay at one of your forced RV lots, and I will NOT stop in, or do business with ANYONE in Vanhorn again! The city counsel (I believe the pilot manager is one) should consider the damage that is being done to Van Horn, for the advantage of three businesses. The chamber of commerce and all business owners should look at this situation, and realize it is a detriment to EVERYONES good! I found it a bit odd when leaving town, that one of the RV lots was all but empty, considering the purpose of the ordinance. I went online to some internet motorhome / Rv sites, and saw that Vanhorn has been black listed, that's a LOT of lost $$ for the merchants of Vanhorn! I am CC'ing this to City Counsel, chamber of commerce, all merchants with emails, the news paper, Pilot gas stations, Loves gas stations, and the State Attorney General. I am contacting the A.G. because, by targeting a specific group you are in violation of the, "Equal Protection Clause" Of the Constitution. (If truckers can overnight, so can RV's, or, neither of them can). This "Scam" cooked up buy city counsel is an affront to common since, freedom of the individual, and the laws of the United States. It is nothing more than favoritism for the few, and revenue enhancement for City Hall. I see in your city code, that there is a provision for exception on private property (truck stops). I would highly recommend considering this option, Rv'ers looking for a few hours sleep will NOT go to a RV lot, and NOT stop in Van Horn. My husband and I stopped to grab a bite to eat,the service was very good and the staff was plesent.While eating I noticed how well the manager treated the staff and how well everyone was working together. The Subway at this location is AWFUL! Asked for Steak was told they were out of it so I ordered a Spicy Italian with jalapeño jack cheese. Was told they were out of jalapeño jack cheese, so I asked if I could get onions on my sandwich before they toasted GUESS WHAT they were out of onions too!!! So I said fine, my sandwich comes out of the toaster ask for lettuce, YOU GOT IT!! Out of lettuce too! I looked at Fatima and asked her can't you at least go to the back & her the lettuce? I know it comes in a big bag. She got mad & started slamming stuff around! She said yeah I guess I can. I didn't lose it until she started slamming stuff!
