Won a leather chair then got into a bidding war for the one ottoman that went with it (paid more for the ottoman than the chair, ugh) only to find that the chair wasn't the leather chair as advertised, but the linen version which I didn't want (and the ottoman to which I also didn't bid on) so I'm left with a mismatched set, $760. I left it at the warehouse and am hoping they refund me for their mistake at best, false advertising/fraud at worst. Again .. only buy what you SEE PHOTOGRAPHED because they don't check inside the boxes, and they tend to err on the side of 'more valuable.' My other issue was late last month, I won an 'appears new, overstock item, never sold' Christmas tree, only to get it home to find one giant section missing and no base. (also, clearly a customer return because it still had the guy's return address on the box) No biggie, $15 and a Saturday of driving. I bid on the same tree a few weeks later and got it for $20, and between the two of them, I Frankensteined together a reasonable tree. Over the years I have seen this place grow, overgrow, and go through stages. Well, I give huge credit to the leadership. The tone of communications feels nicer, the warehouse area has room for people again, and most of the warehouse staff is aces. Only one, manager perhaps?, has no time for people. His typical answer is either "stand there and they will help you," or "no." Never been able to finish my first words. Alas, he is atypical for this place. Some of the super nice folk have moved on, while others have stayed. And the new people all seem friendly. Fun vibe. As for the customers.... Come on, these people work hard in an often hot environment and try to help everyone. You got a decent deal, most likely. So, TIP these folks!!! Can't hurt to throw a few bucks into the jar. Be nice, share! As for stuff.... It's hit and miss. Usually, you will be tickled, especially if you are a fixit type. If the item is way out - not what it said, the customer service folks, like Ernesto, are quick. The emails have even felt friendlier, even if we don't agree, there is a more casual and nice feel. Overall the employees are great there doing as there told. My issue is the auction was for the whole sofa and ottoman which in the picture shows. I get there they bring out just I ottoman I asked were the rest was he says that is all. I show him the invoice he says let me look at the auction which show the whole order shows the sofa and ottoman then he says it's not here just the ottoman. I don't think I will ever want to deal with Loveseat anymore. I paid over $1,500.00 on a coffee table which was described 'Appear New' and it was actually a damaged table. They didn't provide the photos of the damaged parts when they listed it and there is no way to see the real conditon when you place a bid. I refused it at the San Diego warehouse and send the photos of the damaged parts to the support team and requested a refund on this damaged table. I was told the request was under investigation. I sent another email to ask the status on my request and received the same answer. Finally I received an email today saying "Thank you for your patience. Unfortunately, we will not be able to issue a refund for LOT #731083, however, the item was resell on your behalf. This means that Items will be re-auctioned, and you will receive 50% of the proceeds once the customer who purchases the item/s pays their invoice in full. " I don't feel I was treated fairly. They told me that my request was under investigation and in the meantime they just put it in the auction and told me that I would only receive the 50% of the proceed. I was treated like a fool. TLDR Summary: STAY AWAY. Wasted $100 in gas and numerous hours trying to get my items. FULL REVIEW: If there was ZERO or NEGATIVE stars, that would be my review. Wish I would have checked the reviews first. I even gave them a chance to make it right, and they screwed it up again. I've used online auction sites and been very happy with the results. Even when there has been an issue, customer service took care of it and even DROPPED my items off at my house!! Now that is service. Not Loveseat.com. I won a lot of 2 and a lot of 4 chairs, two "live edge" mirrors, and a fountain. Ready for this? I was given the two chairs, but told the lot of 4 chairs was not in the warehouse. I was told I would be given a refund. When I arrived home, the mirrors were not as pictured, but cheap wood that was definitely NOT live edge or anything like the picture. The fountain was broken beyond repair. I requested a refund for both items. I was told the mirror did look like the "retail" pictures. I returned to the auction to find a link to the mirrors on another site and it had both the misleading picture that Loveseat.com had used and a picture of the cheap mirrors I was given. My refund was denied. I was also informed I would have to return the busted fountain for a refund, so that's a $50, 2-hour round trip to get $70 bucks back. It gets better. I received notification that I hadn't picked up everything in my original order and it was waiting at the warehouse. This was also confirmed by a response to my support ticket, Ernesto emailed and wrote: "Thank you for your patience! We confirmed that you can pick-up LOT #XXXXX on Sat Aug 14, 2021 10m-5pm or Tue Aug 17, 2021 1pm-5pm. We have also waived the $20 Storage Fee for your items so you won't be charged for this." Whew! That's great they won't charge me a storage fee for the item they DIDN'T HAVE. I returned today, August 14th, and was told they still didn't have it. WOW. Can't believe it. To boot, a table I won was busted in half when I got home. Their return policy requires two pictures. Great. But then they require you to take the broken item back to them. RIDICULOUS. Well, what can I do? I won an auction for a "recliner," what many of us would call a "lazy boy." Woo-hoo! It was described as having "wear and tear," and had no guarantee that it would work, as advertised as a "power recliner. Being wheelchair bound myself, I had to drag a friend the 50 minute drive to the City of Vernon in hopes that he could wrangle this beast into the back of my 2005 Element. Just don't do it. So not worth it!! I hope I can save someone the money wasted here and feeling scammed like we did. Can't put 0 stars so 1 it is, but it should be negative stars. This company is a scam and unethical. I've never had something like this happen before. Almost every listing is hidden behind the "open box" description. Photos online showed the stock photos and the original box packaging. It states that the origin is "returned" and it's in "open box" condition, which means it was purchased previously somewhere . Due to the false advertisement - the stock photos and a photo of the original box with no further description, we were made to believe that this item was returned because someone no longer wanted it. We did not expect it to be missing most of the weight plates, which essentially render the gym set useless. Upon receipt, my husband realized that 25 out of the 30 weight plates were missing. He contacted their customer service to see if there were any plates left behind. The online original price for this at Costco where we were considering buying from is $1499.00. This set from Loveseat only came with 5 plates, and it did not mention any of this at all. This renders the gym set useless with that amount of weight. Each plate set of 5 is $120. $120 x 5 = $600. We paid a total of $700, plus a 15% buyers premium charge of $105, bringing the total to $887.51 after tax. This is a large and heavy item so we contacted Loveseat's preferred third party delivery partner Goshare to help us retrieve the item and deliver it to our house. We have photos upon the item's arrival. The 5 weights were in a separate Sunkist beverage cardboard container that was NOT listed in the photos for the auction listing. We thought there was a mistake so my husband contacted Loveseat to see if they forgot to include the rest of the weights for the delivery partner pickup person. The extremely frustrating part is that they offered to reconsign the item which means trying to sell it to someone else, until the same false pretenses, and give us 60% of the "proceeds". This is saddening to us that someone else would get scammed and cheated of their money because a gym set is not worth buying unless all the weights are there. Super unethical of this company. We would have not purchased this for $887.51 plus the third party delivery company charge of $241.88, totaling $1129.39 if we knew it was missing weights. The photos did not include the extra Sunkist cardboard box with 5 weights in it. Had the Sunkist box been included with the original set of auction photos, I would not be pushing to dispute this as I would be at least fully informed of what I was bidding on. We would have just bought it directly from Costco at the price of $1499.99 which includes free delivery and the full set of 30 weights included in the large box. Unfortunately our credit card didn't find the dispute valid pretty much because of this "open box" description and us needing to return the item. I have never disputed a charge or filed a chargeback in my life until now, and the company automatically blocks you from the website. This company is lying and unfair, and consumers are not being protected from this company. I don't see why we as consumers have no protection after being misled through false advertisement from a company that refuses to take any responsibility when they knowingly had pieces missing. How can something be classified as partial, damaged, or perfect condition all at the same time? This just absolves any accountability for them and takes advantage of the consumer. We were also told from the company that they would consider refunds under "reasonable circumstances". When I let them know that the gym set was useless without the weights, I was very shocked to be informed that this was NOT a reasonable request for a full refund. This begs the question of what then would be classified as a "reasonable request". I truly hope that this appeal be considered to the fullest extent as the company willfully decided not to include ALL photos of the product during the auction. Allowing this to take place would only encourage poor business practices and result in others asking to dispute. I would be very happy to discuss further in detail. I'm sure whoever responds to this will paste a generic reply, and I'm never buying from them again. Since my last review I have an update. I purchased and LG washtower in June for our home in New Mexico and I finally got it here this week and had a pro installer come do the job. Basically he said the machine is not working and when I called LG they cant do anything because I don't have a proof of purchase receipt. You never know what you are going to get, if its all going to be there or if its going to work. I have seen them have a ton of sofas in my first auction then a couple the next, and a few each week since then, same with other things. A couple of weeks it was all kitchen items. They often have a few weeks of stuff, so don't worry if you miss your item. You are taking your chances and there are no refunds, so its a gamble too. The sofa might have a rip or stain or the refrigerator doesn't work. On occasion you even get something different in the box. I bought a Wolfgang Puck hot plate that is dead. No wonder it was returned. I'm sure it had a tag that said Not Working on it and it could have gone in the damaged category for parts. Realize the money you spend may be for trash. I have a few more things that could be better, all on the website. 1. Why have categories on the website when they aren't used on the auction items? It's way too mixed up. Please put things in their proper place. 2. The pictures should include the tags if there is one (and they shouldn't just be ripped off). It's not really fair if you know the item is broken by the tag on the item (says damaged) and you have the item in the regular category and don't even take a close up of the tag. 3. I understand being too busy to check if things work or not, but maybe you should make a few exceptions like with items likely to be bid over $200. 4. Last can you put a measure stick on the wall or post and put boxes/items next to it, so we have an idea of how big our item is. Buyers need to prepare with the right sized car/truck. The people working on the dock are friendly and efficient and they do check to make sure the person who won auction is the one picking it up. Also, they don't help you load it, so have someone strong if you buy something heavy. When it is summer they put up a canopy so us winners didn't have to wait, while they get our stuff, in the hot sun. It's only a minute or two while they get it. Bottom line, if you are a gambler, live close enough to Vernon that it isn't a bother to go, don't mind if what you bought might not be working (often fine), and have a vehicle that is big enough and you are strong enough to load what you buy, this is a fun and great website auction/place. (If you have to hire someone to load and hire a truck, there go the savings, and you might as well buy at Amazon or someone with free delivery. You will save your back and spend the same.) And the best part is the prices won't hurt your wallet! My favorite space was the chairs they have upstairs! Don't forget to give it a look! You won't regret it! One of the items I won was a modern bookcase (see attached image) in white. Not only was it the complete wrong color, it was BRIGHT RED. Pick up took forever. I was stuck on "24 minutes" for about an hour. That's not why I'm writing this or why I rated them low. My roommate got called in to work, and I went to request if I could get my item since we had to go back home for her to get ready, the guy was like, "We can't help unless we've texted you." The deals were so good that I overlooked poor customer service, late late checks sent to me for my sales, inability to contact management and management not getting back to vendors in a timely manner. Buyer beware. Bought items from Loveseat in December. In April, they erroneously issued a refund for the purchase from December. This was all caused by an error on the Loveseat side. So, they issue this credit for $373 back to my credit card on file with them. To resolve the issue, Loveseat clandestinely decided the best option was to charge the refunded amount to my cc. Unfortunately, Loveseat's miscalculation was operating under the assumption that the refund would immediately apply - but the refund did not apply and the chargeback was not successful. Then the chaos ensued........ Loveseat decided since they couldn't charge my cc, then they would charge my personal bank account using the original form of payment from the purchase in December (which is my personal bank account). Yes, you are reading this correctly. THEY TOOK MONEY FROM MY PERSONAL BANK ACCOUNT WITHOUT PERMISSION OR KNOWLEDGE AND THE FORM OF PAYMENT WAS NOT STORED ON FILE WITH THEM. Then the identity theft alerts began to ring all over. They caused my bank account to be frozen and my card to be deactivated. All attemps to contact Loveseat were pointless and fruitless - they did not resolve the matter whatsoever. They do not answer the phone and the do not correspond well via email. Now, it gets even better. By now, Loveseat is responsible for ripple effects from my personal bank account being frozen and all my bill pay accounts being stopped. Loveseat caused several missed automatic payments because of their unannounced and unauthorized withdrawal of funds from my personal account. But it gets even better...... I won an auction the same night Loveseat had the accounting error that started all this nonsense. So Loveseat charged my cc on file another $385 for that purchase. If you have used Loveseat, you know you can only pickup on Wed and Sat. Well, based on the auction closing, my next available pickup date was Saturday. I went on Saturday and the items they tried to present as "NEW" and having multipe parts to the set were brought out incomplete (missing whole chairs and several light fixtures from listings that CLEARLY said "Set of 2" and "Set of 4" respectively. I refused the order outright and the manager on site said they would fully refund my money. Do you think they did that? Nope. Issued a refund of $37. I now have to: (1) File a fraud complaint with my cc; (2) Re-setup a bank account and wait for a new card; (3) Potentially wait 90 days for this matter to be resolved and a proper refund issued; (4) File a complaint with the State Attorney's Office; (5) File a complaint with the BBB; (6) Write this review on Yelp and Google; (4) File a police report for theft; and, (5) Seek legal remedy. I had one transaction with Loveseat in December 2022. Look what it has turned into.........and I can gaurantee they won't say anything contrary to what's been stated above. Otherwise, I'll also hit them with a defamation and fraud suit as well. I'll be seeking damages - compensatory and actual. And I won't take this post down. Everyone be warned. Look them up. They have no phone number and no mode of dispute. I learned the hard way. You don't have to. Find another vendor/source for your online auction fancy. Otherwise, these Loveseat folks will take you for a FULL RIDE - and, they'll be entirely unapologetic and dismissive for their unethical behavior. Run. Away. Quickly. read more

While both stores are a pleasure to visit, I definitely enjoy stopping by the LA store. The employees are all top notch, the warehouse is very large, and they have almost everything imaginable regarding vintage furniture. Most recently Jorge, Bryant, and Noah assisted me with finding my customers items, getting them wrapped up, and loaded into my truck and trailer. These guys are professional, experienced, and know what they are doing. I want to give a huge thanks to all three of them for being the best at what they do. As you can see from Loveseat's response, I was refunded for my lost item. Well, eventually. I had to open a dispute with my credit card company because after 2 weeks Loveseat still had not processed a refund. However, I gave it another chance this week and everything went smoothly with my newly-won item. Also, the warehouse staff is very nice. read more

Auction was great but when we went to pick up, we were led so a rundown warehouse in a VERY shady area. Nothing like what is shown in the pictures. This was definitely NOT the showroom depicted in the reviews. Looks like the business moved? In addition, due to the COVID situation, they had a numbering system and were bringing things out for one customer at a time and we had to wait 2 hours to pick up one small item. I get that it's not entirely their fault, but it was frustrating and maybe could be better handled with an appointment system or something like that. Overall, not worth the hassle unless you're ordering a bunch of things and getting them delivered. read more

I have purchased from the LA and San Diego location for almost 2 years! I have had good and bad results. Sometimes it's been my fault and sometimes theirs. You have to really pay attention to the website to follow the changes. There have been several! Their inspections were in person then not at all. The items could be easily picked up and now you have to make sure you're awake at 6:45am on a Saturday to reserve an early day pick up. I've gotten some items that have been in great shape and some that I've had to just throw away! It's truly a crap shoot! The warehouse staff are great if you treat them nicely. If not, you get what you give. Disappointed in this new "as-is" "take your chance" mentality though. If it's going to be that way they need to document the item more clearly! If they post a link to an item they're selling and it's from "Wayfair" or "hayneedle" or wherever don't compare the "brand new in box" item to what you're selling. If it's been returned and/or damaged someone should know this and show actual pictures. Example: We purchased a "returned" tv stand with fake fireplace. It showed the box, but you couldn't open the box when you went in to preview it (they used to have times when you could preview items). When we got it home it was damaged- SEVERELY! We lost $375! We expected a few scratches, but we did NOT expect to waste $375 on something we couldn't use! Keep in mind there IS a Reason items are returned! If you love vintage furniture, you will love Loveseat.com. I came here on a preview day to check out a few item in person. It's always hard for me to get a good idea just by looking online. The staff was very friendly and answered all my question. Half the place has the current items for auction and the other half is closed off for staging new items for the following week. All the items have QR codes linking to the auction items. If you can poke your head through, you may get a special preview. Their items change weekly but you will have to bid online. I recommend scoping out the items in the beginning but making a final bid near the end. It's pretty crazy how high some of the items reach in the last few minutes. I wanted to leave a review after actually placing an order dealing with pickup and assembly of auction items. I ordered 2-3k worth, pickup was a breeze, items were actually pretty nice and great quality. I would just warn anybody purchasing something that requires assembly as 80% of the items that required assembly had missing pieces, needed repair. One item was the same category as advertised but a totally different style and after a couple of emails haven't had any reply. What a great place! I originally bought a table online and when I went in to the warehouse it wasn't exactly what I was looking for. It was just as easy as they said to return it on the spot and I ended up finding an absolutely incredible vintage coffee table while I was there! The people working were really compassionate and totally helped answer all my random questions and also put up with my crazy indecisiveness about which table to take home in the beginning.
