We went to the showroom in Culver City and Daniel with the cool cowboy boots was very helpful. We got a small sectional couch and a dresser with the mirror. I love my furniture! The sales people at Caprice are pleasant enough to work with. The quality of the goods and the follow-up are "0". We bought a couch here and they assembled it in our home. There were two legs missing along with the caps that go on the legs that contact the floor. Multiple phone calls never resulted in the two missing legs being delivered. We made do. Mostly because the couch was cheap. Well, you get what you pay for. Within the first year, a Macbook Air laptop we left on the cushion ruined the cushion. We've left the Macbook on beds, chairs, even on top of a pile of newspapers. It doesn't get hot enough to hurt paper! But somehow, it ruined the cushion. The big mistake we made was to get the cusion re-upholstered for $90. The new cushion was fantastic but what a waste of nearly $100 when another cushion did the same thing when we left some LP's sitting on the cushion. Photos posted are the damage from leaving some LP's sitting on a cushion for two days. What else can I say but do NOT buy a couch here. See our photos and the photos from others. Maybe they're good for things with hard surfaces, but do not buy anything soft from here. With this kind of quality though, I'd worry about VOC's from the hard furniture you buy. Yes, it's all coming from China, but do you really know what it's made of and whether there are banned chemicals in them? This post is long over due. The furniture, the pricing, and the customer service are amazing. I have bought several pieces from here (couches, bed, mirror, etc.) and they all look great and hold up even better. The store manager is so great and will help you find exactly what you're looking for. Delivery is top notch as well, and they assemble everything for a minimal cost. I will be hard-pressed to shop anywhere else. Don't be decieved by the small store front. The order everything to deliver straight to you. Caprice furniture is pretty much catalog furniture from Coasters Company. There's a ton of lil independent stores that carry stuff made by Coasters (i.e. all those Chinese furniture stores in SGV). Furniture Vision up the street on La Cienega gets their stuff from Coasters Co. as well. The funny thing is you can go to http://www.capricefurniture.com/ and http://www.furniturevision.com/home.php and compare prices by matching up the pictures. Some prices were higher at Caprice, some higher at Vision. Caprice charges for delivery vs. Vision delivers for free over $300 or something. Of course, you can bargain a bit. I originally found Caprice thank to YELP reviews-- thank you yelpers--you're the BEST. I am a confirmed furniture-phobe and have been avoiding buying a bed for TWO YEARS. This place rocks. Go online, pick out what you want, call & see if they have it on the floor if you want to check the color/stain, whatev. They have tons of delicious other things like side tables, bars, etc., so that even if you're not in the market for something else, you might be tempted...which is perfectly okay, b/c Caprice does not try to triple its profits off of you. You might actually be able to get something that you thought you couldn't afford otherwise...I did. I first went to Caprice in November '07 to look at a platform bed that I'd seen online. I was amazed at how nice & laid back the saleswoman was, and that everything was REAL WOOD. Other stores were charging more than twice for the same bed that was only partial wood or particle board. Anyway, I'm gushing, and I know it, but this is a watershed moment for me...ok!? I ended up going out of town for most of this year, got back this summer and was back to looking all over the internet, thinking that maybe I was missing some other Caprice-like store with Caprice-like prices. Nope. Even Target charges $100 more, not to mention ridiculous shipping costs and no assembly for one of the beds Caprice also carries. Ha! I finally put my furniture phobia aside and went in to order my bed and a box spring. It was effortless. Unfortunately, I can't remember the name of the guy who helped me, but everyone who I've encountered there was pleasant. He answered all of my questions, humored me when comparing heights of headboards, etc, and wrote up my paperwork quickly and efficiently. Delivery and assembly turned out to be less than I'd estimated, and I got a call from the deliverymen two days later to set up my delivery for between 1:30-3:30 today. Yes, it gets better. These dudes showed up at 2pm, called to make sure I was home, were nice polite & cordial, and the whole process took MAYBE 20 minutes. They asked me if I was happy with the assembly & furniture, there was no pressure, no rush, and there was no question but to offer them a cash tip, cold water and a nice day, and now I feel like the Princess without the pea. After searching for a dining set at many stores (e.g. Living Spaces, Ashley, and several local stores), I was lucky to stumble across this furniture store and work with Paula. She was very communicative, responsive, and helped me buy a Clayton 5-piece dining set and even customize the set with different chairs. The set arrived in about a week and delivery was very smooth. I live in a 6-building apartment complex with security, and to top it off I live on the 4th floor, so finding my unit can be difficult. I was pleasantly surprised when the delivery people showed up right at my door with my furniture at my assigned time window. I do hours of research before I buy anything, and I can confidently say that Caprice has the lowest prices. Almost all of the local stores here receive their furniture from Poundex or Coaster, the most popular manufacturers, but all stores set prices differently. Although the show room isn't as stocked as other major competitors, their website is easy to navigate and I purchased via their online catalog. Overall, I'm very happy with my experience and would highly recommend this store to anyone. read more

I love Caprice. I bought a couch, living room set, and dining set from them a few months ago. The delivery was a little longer than I wanted (one week), but no big deal. When they delivered the items there was a few problems (scratches) and they took the stuff back without any argument and delivered new items the following week. In store, the selection isn't great on the floor. Most everything is in the catalogues. They sell them same stuff as all these other furniture retailers in LA but for so cheap. And you can haggle a little bit. It's definitely nicer than IKEA. It's a good transition for trying to buy stuff that looks like grown up furniture without spending a fortune for the high quality stuff. Overall I love this place I would go back for more! read more

Buyer Beware. Ordered a modern black leather sofa from them. Great price: $1,000. They delivered it. It looked great. Thought I got the deal of the century! Then... within 2 months... stress tears started appearing from where people would sit. WITHIN 2 MONTHS. I called Caprice. They said send pictures. I did. I kept following up with them over several weeks. THEY NEVER RETURNED MY CALLS OR E-MAILS. Eventually, I just gave up. I paid an independent leather repair person to come and fix it. She said the leather used to make this sofa is defective leather and should never be used to cover a sofa. She said the leather is so thin because they split the leather multiple times to stretch a single hide. Now... every couple of months... new stress tears open up and I have to fix them. I know the furniture looks great online but it's inferior stuff that Caprice will NEVER stand behind 2 months after you purchase it. This is my partial review, as i have yet to actually purchase anything from them. The store is one of those hole in the wall places and in a pretty nondescript location. The store doesn't have everything it sells in its showroom, and either gives you a physical brochure to browse through, and they go to their website for all the price quoting. The prices were indeed very nice, where i'm looking at getting a full and love seat for around 550, and a leather queen bed for around $400, with delivery to Santa Monica for around $80. The quality does seem better built than ikea, but i can't tell until my ass has made friends with the cushions. read more

I have to admit that at first I was hesitant about this place, since it only has a small showroom, and a lot of the purchasing is done from their catalogs, but after buying a few pieces from them I am more than satisfied. Their store is located right by Sony Studios (where I work), and I had been hearing the buzz about them for a while from friends and coworkers, but never really thought much of it till I was in the market for furniture. So I walked to their place from work one day, and after going back a few more times and picking out what I wanted, they gave me the best price, delivered it on time (to the valley), and had it set up by their delivery people. Quick and easy. Now I know why that many people at work were talking about such a tiny store, since they are a pleasure to work with. This store offers furniture from the Coaster catalog. It's not the highest quality but it is affordable and looks nice. I've found that buying through the store is a better bet than buying online, due to the customer support at Caprice. For example I purchased a California king bed frame from the store and when it arrived it became obvious that the way the supports under the bed were designed it would not support the mattress. The staff at Caprice came to my house and constructed a proper support system for the mattress and I've never had a problem with it. They have great customer service is all I can say ! read more

Yes, they have a small showroom and offer many more items than in their showroom through catalogs...that's probably how they're able to keep prices low (low overhead costs). I've done a ton of comparison shopping because I never buy without making triple sure I'm getting the best deal, and Caprice definitely had the best on the bedroom furniture I was looking for. Since I do a lot of comparison shopping, I really appreciate that there is no salesperson hovering over your shoulder as soon as you enter the store. It's really annoying to be looking around for best prices/doing research before buying while some dude itching for a commission is trying to shove a product down my throat. I like asking the questions I want to ask when I've had a chance to formulate them. When I approached the guy working there he was super friendly and answered all my questions immediately. Sooo disappointed after comparing the yelp reviews and the Caprices website versus the actual experience. What was said: great quality furniture, selection, and customer service. Comparable to Crate & Barrel for cheaper prices. (which I assumed was a bit exaggerated in comparison to the prices, but the website looked very promising). What was actually there: Small showroom with furniture that looks as though it has been resting/dieing there for quite a bit. Understuffed, overused sofas and mismatching pieces. Service - I was the only one in there and after 10 mins of wondering around confused in plain sight, I had to approach the salesman. He seemed slightly upset to be taken away from his magazines, but willing to answer my questions. Conversation: Me - "I noticed on your website there were a few nice pieces I was hoping to look at. Do you have this or that model?" Him - "No, what you see is what we have. Other than that you can order from the website, but there is a "Final Sale", no return policy." Me - "So is there a way to look at it before buying then?" HIm - "No, unfortunately we can't let people do that." Me - *thinking* Hmmm, sounds like a bit of a scam. If the items in the showroom look this badly, what would show up from the warehouse? *what I actually said* Oh, ok thank you for your help. And I left seriously baffled as to the good reviews. I researched a lot of furniture stores on the westside and I have to say that a lot of them have horrible customer service. They just want to make a sale and carry on with their life. The sales guy at Caprices is no different - he doesn't get excited when people walk through the door. He'll say "hi" if you make eye contact with him. It's ironic because the store front has a sign that says "yelp users love us", yet if you read the following reviews, it doesn't support that. Caprices had the exact table that I wanted and it was the only table I found that was like it, which is surprising considering most of these discount furniture stores all buy from the exact same suppliers. I purchased a table and was able to get it less than 48hrs later. They wanted to charge me $35 for delivery, so I brought a minivan and picked up my table from the store myself. I had to assemble the chairs and table myself, but the boxes came with tools and instructions which made it really easy to put together. I've been pretty happy with the table and can't say I have any complaints. I really had no problems with Caprices and would recommend them. Sure, they're not an A+ in customer service, but you are paying dirt cheap for an item, not for customer service. Be careful what you buy - yelp users say don't buy couches from Caprices. But their chairs/table were fine on my end. read more

I have never bought anything but Ikea stuff and he was able to help me draw a floor plan of my new pad, walked me through measurements, explained the difference between platform beds and regular, dressers and chests, and in the end I walked out with an entire set that was less than I would have paid at another store for just the bed. Oh, and did I mention that he did this while helping other customers both in store and on the phone. Go elsewhere. i went into their store and ended up paying $600 for a sofa. set a delivery date. the following day after my delivery date they call me saying they dont have the sofa i payed for and i can substitute it for something else. I wanted a sofa right away so i found something similar but i still had to pay the difference. A few weeks later they deliver the couch but i realize they forget the two decorative matching pillows that come with the couch. i call the next day and he said the delivery guys should have dropped them off. i told him they didnt. I am totally thrilled with my purchase at Caprice Furniture, since they ended up having the nicest stuff at the absolute lowest price. Not only was I able to get a dining set, tv stand, bed with nightstands, and sectional for under $1200. . .but they were also friendly, knowledgeable, and had my furniture delivered on time in a few days! I had no idea that I would be able to afford new furniture for my place, and was thinking of just getting old used stuff , but Caprice gave me an incredible package price that came out to the same as buying used (probably even less). Not to mention that all the stuff I had delivered was solid wood (not the cheap particle board stuff) and the styles are the same ones you can find at Pottery Barn / Macy's, just for a whole lot less. I had gone to about five different furniture stores who carried similar stuff, but they all had a ton of issues ranging from not being able to deliver and set up the furniture, needing 4-6 weeks for delivery, most wanting almost double the price I was quoted at Caprice. And although some stores did offer me a good deal, Caprice Furniture just matched or beat their prices plus their package prices were already really the lowest I found. Like others have said, the showrooms they have are kinda small, but they have many floor samples so you can see the colors, quality, and fabrics of most things and their catalogs have like a million more styles to choose from. Overall, finding what I wanted was pretty easy, and the sales person kept giving me plenty of options to choose from (which was a lot more helpful than the other stores I visited). Went to this store today to buy a King Bed, dining room set and bedroom furniture. They have a nice online ad and seem to have plenty to choose from. But the truth is The location is small and they only have a few items in the showroom. The three sales people were soooo busy on their computers to even ask me if I needed any help. I finally asked a few questions and someone finally came to show me the bed I had come to purchase in a catalog. (No price) He then told me if I wanted anything else I could go to the website. Seemed very strange since I was in the freakin store already?! Anyway, After all of that I decided to to buy and spend my money elsewhere. Buyers Beware!!! I found Caprice furniture online and decided to check out some pieces of furniture in the store. I waited for 15-20 min before I was even approached to see if I had any questions or if I needed help. The store was NOT busy. Instead one of the sales guys was too engrossed in whatever he was reading to help me out. Despite the horrible service, I found some furniture that I really liked and paid for it in full that same day. Since I was going to be moving in a month, I decided to pick up my furniture in a month when I would have my moving truck. Three weeks later and less than one week before I was going to move, I was informed that they made a mistake and were sold out of the furniture that I ALREADY PAID FOR. Instead of appologizing, they tried to convince me to switch the bedroom set that I wanted and bought for another bedroom set that they had in stock. Not surprisingly, I declined and asked them if they could ship the furniture to the place where I was moving when they got more in stock (which was in 4 weeks). They said they did not ship to San Francisco and wouldn't pay for it even though I offered to split the shipping cost. This place is AWFUL and they don't know how to run a business. Basically, I was offering to spend more money for THEIR MISTAKE and they weren't will to do anything. Buyers Beware-this is the WORST company that I have ever dealt with. read more

After it took them 2 days to install it (first day they didn't have the slats), they told me it did in fact require a box spring. I will be disputing the charges and contacting BBB but wouldn't order from them again. They don't know anything about the furniture they sell and don't take accountability for giving customers the wrong information. The furniture is cost effective but you get what you pay for. The couch I ordered came with a missing leg and one of the other legs on it is shorter than the rest. (They acknowledged this on the delivery receipt with a promise to contact me about redelivery, which never happened.) I've called them twice since then, asking when they would return with the correct parts. Both times they promised me that the parts had been ordered, and that they'd get back to me as soon as they came in to schedule a delivery, but never did. (It's been almost five months.) Spoke with salesperson and he was friendly and answered all my questions. After looking around and thinking about it for a couple days I went back and placed an order. Took about 5 days for delivery(was quoted 5-8 days). Delivery was managed very well. They were able to call me 20 minutes before they reached my place so that I could deal with it during my lunch break at work. Very nice! Everything for me has worked out well. My ongoing search for discount furniture stopped at Caprice Furniture. Both show room locations are small and very basic. The service at Overland location was terrible and I would not recommend. I do recommend the drive to Noho to meet Paula. She is a great laid back rep who is quite knowledgable. I met with another rep who set up my order and set our expectations. Once I met back up with Paula she had to fix our order and accomodate to the other rep mistakes. It all seemed very shady (copy of the bill was handwritten, crossed off etc). The delivery were really nice and showed up at their scheduled time twice (one piece of furniture was defective at the warehouse and had to come out the next day). Since then, a week later is great to have sectional modular couches in our new place. Our friends have given a lot of compliments and I do recommend Paula at Caprice! Just be prepared that this is not a showroom like Ikea, and you can find the pieces in a disorganized fashion. You will be ordering out of catalogs, and definitely look for the BIG discounts on Craigslist. Make sure to have the posting id's from cl. I walked into this store TWICE and both times I had horrible customer service experiences. My roommate and I just moved into a new place and have been hunting for pieces for our apartment. Our first thing on the list was a dining room table. We saw one we loved on Caprice's website so we went to check it out. We walked in and were not even acknowledged!!! There weren't even any other customers there that they were busy. After roaming around confused we had to ask for help and the guy who "helped" us acted as if we were bothering him. We walked out. I came back a second time with a friend to see if he could negotiate the pricing of the dining room table with the guy. Once again we walked in - no other customers there - and not acknowledged. They wouldn't negotiate price which is fine but then they quoted me about $30 more then what they originally told me!! He wanted about $500 for a six chair dining room table (not including delivery and assembly). My friend took me to a store on Western where I was able to pick up a larger six chair dining room table for $300 which includes delivery, assembly and tax. And for those thinking the quality is much worse or something be advised I was given the same exact catalog at this store as I was at Caprice. read more

I was shopping around for a bedroom set and a sectional for my livingroom for a couple weeks and stumbled onto Caprice's website. Since I was renting, I did not want to splurge on high end furniture but also didn't want college dorm room bean bags either. I realized that several furniture stores all carry identical items so I'm assuming they are distributors mostly and caprice is one of them. Anyways I went to Caprice's website and they had a pretty extensive catalogue of items with very good prices so I went into their showroom in culver city and as many reviewers mentioned already, it's a pretty small joint with very limited amount of furniture available for viewing. But they do have color catalogs of everything they sell. So the strongest point for shopping/buying at Caprice is their wide selection and very good prices. I purchased a bedroom set (dresser, nightstand, bedframe, bench) and a leather sectional for my living room. I was able to preview the bedframe and the couch in the showroom and I liked how they looked/felt. So that was the pleasant/good experience portion of my purchase. The delivery was delayed for several days so I had to deal with not having a couch for extra week, which was a downer. They estimated 5-6 business days but it took fully 2 weeks. In addition the dresser/nightstand arrived damaged so they had to take them back and I had to wait another 2 weeks or so. In my opinion they did not do a great job of apologizing or explaining the delays. So I got very good furniture for a very good price. My friends were pretty impressed at what I paid for my new furniture. Also the delivery people were very friendly and always slightly early. Bottom line is that this store is a no frills, barebone store where you are going to get very good prices but you are going to sacrifice service. When hubby and I decided to buy a new mattress, we wanted to get a new platform bed frame as well... I went to all the furniture stores on Venice by Helms, went to Burbank to check out similar beds to Caprice that I found in the usual Craiglist ads... and then I found Caprice. It's much closer than all the other stores on CL to the west side. It's not a big store and the selection on hand is limited. So you can flip through their catalogues to see what else is available - JUST LIKE most of the other stores I went to as I was in the market for a Eastern King size. My first visit was just to scope out the place and see what the beds look like in person... the sales lady who was there was busy on the phone and I did have to wait and approach her when she was off the phone - no biggie. She let me look through several catalogues before I inquired about a couple different beds. The next 2 times I went in (what can I say, I was hesitant to buy and not sure about the look I really wanted) the owner was manning the store. He's a very nice, young guy. Again, he had to man the phones as he was the only one there (besides the guys doing deliveries) but I prefer not to be jumped on for a sale when I enter a store, frankly. So, 3rd time is a charm. Picked out my bed, paid for it and then explained I really needed the bed THE NEXT DAY as my mattress I had ordered was coming in... He figured out a way to make it happen. It was there the next day for me to pick up. He helped me load it in my car and then when I had a dead battery when I left, he jumped the car for me, too. Left the store unattended (as far as salespeople go) and retrieved his car to jump mine. So nice. Now, I've had the bed for almost 3 mos. The construction of one of the side rails is faulty. It's stripped and now I have one side falling apart. I walked in last week and told him - wasn't in the store more than 3 mins and he said he'd get me a new side. It's in - going to pick it up now. It's not super-high end stuff, folks. It's not priced as such. But I've been quite happy with my purchase. Poor quality furniture. My couch broke after on 1 year of mild use. All my tables and chairs are falling apart as well. Net time I will definitely spend the extra money for some good quality furniture. Don't waste your money on this garbage or you will regret it. read more
