Before scheduling, I was told my records needed to be reviewed first, which I understood and sent over. I initially misspelled the email address but corrected it shortly after. During my follow-up phone call with Stacey, I was trying to better understand why I was being referred elsewhere instead of scheduling directly for imaging. Unfortunately, the conversation became unnecessarily tense and dismissive. I felt spoken to in a passive-aggressive and condescending manner while asking questions about the process. I understand medical offices are busy and stressful environments, but professionalism and patience matter, especially when patients are already confused or dealing with health concerns. People make mistakes, ask questions, and need clarification. The way staff communicate can greatly impact someone's experience. I hope the practice takes patient communication seriously moving forward, because no patient should leave a call feeling belittled for trying to understand their care process.

His staff is friendly, compassionate, and will go the extra mile to assist you with all of your needs and concerns. After my visit to the emergency room, I made an appointment to see Dr. Johanesmeyer. He saw my X-Rays and we discussed his plan of action has including Ankle repair surgery, fitting me with splints, boots, and physical therapy. I have been prescribed pain medication to hold me over until the surgery. He did advice that due to my multiple broken bones, i will experience arthritis. 3/29 @ 6am I underwent Open reduction and internal fixation (ORIF) is a type of surgery used to stabilize and heal a broken bones. In my case, I had 6 plus broken bones. 2 weeks later I had my post-op appointment. X-rays were taken and I waited for the doctor. Upon removal of my cast and bandages We discovered extensive swelling along with monstrous looking fracture blisters. I was in total shock. Dr. Johanesmeyer Explained to me what fracture blisters were and how to treat them. He also Explained the Titanium hardware in my foot ( I nearly fainted). He went over the process of the surgery along with the incisions he made around the fracture blisters and why. My stitches are neat, and the incisions were all in straight lines. I must say he did a wonderful job. Dr.Johanesmeyer advised me to return in a week to see if the swelling goes down enough to remove the stitches and fit me for a stabilizing boot. He also provided me with pain medication and Gabapentin for my burning, tingling, ice picks, and cold nerve pain. 1.) Office Staff : 5 2.) Location: 5 3.) Dr. Services and treatment plan:5 4) Prices: 4 5) Office following Covid Protocols: 5 Dr. Johanesmeyer takes the time to ask you questions and to address all of your concerns. He is Wonderful! I am looking forward to recovering from this injury and getting on with the rest of my life through Dr.Johanesmeyer treatment plan. I seriously injured my left hamstring during a marathon, which required an ultra-specialized surgery to reattach and repair. Prior to the surgery I phone-interviewed and researched physical therapy provider options. I wanted a no-nonsense, respectful philosophical approach to guide my recovery activities. I spoke with the Center's director, Erin. It was clear that we were aligned here; she included a recommendation that I start physical therapy prior to the surgery, to strengthen my leg and prepare it for rehabilitation. As I had never used crutches prior to the surgery, there was also practice assistance there too! So I began my relationship with Carolina Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine's therapeutic staff, consisting of Erin, Joe, and Liz, and Amber, as their able assistant. My pre-surgery strengthening exercises included not only leg strengthening, but also hip and core and balancing and exercises. My post surgery rehabilitation plan was phased over the course of several months, and included the first phase which included quad sets, ankle pumps, abdominal isometrics, and upper body cardiovascular exercise to maintain my fitness level. Phase two weaned me from crutches and included stationary bike exercise, balance drills, gait training, hip and core strengthening. Phase three included a gradual return to light running drills, impact drills, elliptical machine use, in addition to the exercises in Phase two. Phase four included strengthening drills, higher velocity training, and a return to running. As a result their guidance, I was able to progress through the recovery protocol well ahead of schedule, and have been able to run 9 miles straight without pain in less than four months. In addition, the core and hip strengthening exercises have also improved my running mechanics. Erin, Joe, and Liz and extremely knowledgeable clinicians, and their pleasant, straightforward approach with me was aided by the atmosphere of the Center, which was always incredibly positive. It is clear that this team enjoys their work and enjoys working together. A real difference maker!

I was worried, because the lobby was full, but this was probably the quickest that I've been taken in to a back room. I was given the pre-exam by an assistant to the assistant, and within a few moments, PA Sawyer came in to check me out. A couple of x-rays were done, and I was told that I had very photogenic bones, and that they looked very youthful. This brought the visit from a 4 star to a 5 star. I was then explained in detail what my symptoms were a result of, and how to help alleviate them going forward. Her bedside manor was top notch and even though I was given a shot, and some semi-not-so-good news, I left there feeling really good about my visit and the future of my elbow. I'm going back in six weeks for a follow up, but she said if I was feeling better, that I could cancel, which shows me that they're not just in it for the appointment revenue. I'll be back again for sure if I ever need anything.

More often than not, Adam Moore is our assigned physical therapist but having hung out in the back personally, the entire team is great. Even the trainee I dealt with was very personable! What's great is Adam is geniunely out for your best interests and doesn't have you keep coming back more than you need to. He also told me last time that I didn't need to be referred to my primary doctor for future reference so when had nagging pain that wouldn't go away, I was able to call Sports Plus and get an appointment without wasting any money on a different doctor to get referred. He had her 100% pain free in 3 or 4 visits! I'm still pain free after my physical therapy but I've also got two worksheets of exercises and two bands of varying strengths so if the pain returns (because I'm old and that's what happens), I can start doing the physical therapy on my own without having to return. Even the front desk ladies are wonderful! It's never a good situation when you have to get physical therapy, but the entire team at Sports Plus does an excellent job at making a sucky situation much more bearable.
