First of all, this place is primarily a catering restaurant and they only have two tables for dine-in seating. Just make sure to call ahead of time for availability. I ordered the chicken and waffles and shrimp and grits. The shrimp and grits portion was smaller than other restaurants. The shrimp were tiny but the grits were perfect and delicious! The chicken and waffles came with a side of collard greens (amazing!) and mac and cheese. The waffle itself was more like a dessert donut but was super tasty. Definitely worth checking out if you are in the area and looking for southern comfort food. The prices are reasonable too. read more

I did not get the opportunity to try the food. I'm rating specifically on the customer service I received. I called to place an order for the shrimp and grits. I'm a pescatarian, so I asked the if there was beef, pork, or chicken used and/or in it. The lady on the phone told me it was not. Said they sprinkle bacon on the top and they could leave that off. I inquired on what stock was used and told it was seafood. I asked her if she could verify prior to placing the order and having to go picking up. She came back to the phone and said no chicken, beef, or pork used in anyway. I placed the order. I go to pick it up. I go to check and of course there's bacon on On-Top. The same girl who answered the phone takes the bowl back to have it fixed again. Only to be told that it's CHICKEN based stock. read more

I've been here several times for some gourmet take out. First heard of this place through Groupon. Overall, it's pretty delicious, but it puts your calorie count way over. I hope to have an event and get them to cater it in the near future. Really cute set-up when you walk into their kitchen studio. There's a sample of cupcakes and cake balls on a serving tray for you when you walk in. Try their Peach Tea on the counter. It's really good, however, a little bit too sweet for my taste. Check out their calendar for daily offerings. Here are some things that I've tried: Grilled chicken with mushroom cream sauce- delicious!! Garlic mashed potatoes- So Tasty! I wish I could order an entire box of it. Alma's mac n cheese- I love mac n cheese, but I didn't like this one. It's difficult to reheat, and the cheese doesn't entirely melt. Just a plate of grease with elbow noodles. I can see and taste some eggs in it. Pass. Shrimp & grits- Delicious! It's only $5 on Thursdays. And it's made to order. Definitely worth the $5, and they don't skimp on the shrimp either. Pecan crusted chicken- Yummy too! Red velvet cupcake- It's kind of dry for my taste. I've had better elsewhere. This is the one cupcake that they offer every day. White velvet cupcake- That was also dry Strawberry cupcake- My favorite cupcake from LCQ! Delicious cream cheese frosting. This means I can relax on the bench at a beautiful park on a river to eat instead of sitting in a boring restaurant. Her website has a menu detailing foods available each week for the month, so check before you go. The absent 5th star is only for the wish of a little table and chairs on the sidewalk where I could sit if I didn't want to go to the park or hotel to eat. To be honest there aren't going to be enough words for how amazing my experience with Low Country Quisine was for our wedding. I had a very specific menu vision in mind and the entire LCQ team knocked it out of the park! We selected the shrimp and grits, and chicken/waffles for cocktail hour - I'm not normally a grits fan (my husband loves them) but I cannot stop telling him daily how I just want more shrimp and grits!! Our dinner was served family style and was chicken pot pie, pot roast, mashed potatoes, green beans, and mac-n-cheese. The service was amazing. My husband and I had a dedicated server, Lisa, for both cocktail hour and dinner. Lisa was so attentive and so sweet. She made sure that we ate and was constantly making sure we had water and drinks at all times! The food for my wedding was very important to us and picking the right caterer was something I spent a lot of time and energy on. Jolie, Kenisha, Tomekia and the rest of the LCQ team made the entire experience so easy. Almost a month later and I'm still getting calls and texts about how amazing the food and service was. When I saw the name I assumed it was food, but when we walked by we saw cupcakes and cake balls in the window. I can't speak to their food but WOW, the cake was moist and delicious and incredibly flavorful. I wish they weren't so far away from work because I'd love to try them again (or maybe its good for me and my hips?). Very disappointed in this business on the catering side. We had a chance to try the food at a wedding venue's open house - and to be clear, it was phenomenal. So good we were wanting to change our whole menu on the spot to do a southern style meal for our very northern families. Then, we reached out. We emailed, submitted a form on their website, called and left our information or talked to someone multiple times - and heard nothing. I called again, and someone said they would contact the sales department and tell them what was going on. We finally got an email! It had a different couples names in the salutation and was simply a PDF of their brochure. We had the brochure, we'd told them what we wanted for our menu, and we were hoping to get a real estimate with catering information. After many attempts over about a month from our side we decided we wouldn't be able to trust them for our wedding day if it was this difficult just to get an estimate. read more

We had Fried Mac & Cheese, Buttermilk Pecan Fried Chicken, Braised Short Ribs, Rustic Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Sautéed Vegetables and Jalapeño Cornbread. We received so many compliments on how good the food tasted. Everyone kept asking who cooked the food?!?! It was definitely a hit! Especially the cornbread!! They were also nice to work with. I don't know where to start! From our first contact with Low Country Quisine to the day of my daughter's wedding everything was AMAZING! The extra special personal touches from the framed sign with Claudia & Patrick's name at the taste testing to the surprise box that was delivered to the house to the very final goodbye at the venue everything was top notch! The food...Oh my...The BEST tasting food at any wedding, bar none! No soggy unflavored food here!! They brought an oven to cook things on site! It was amazing! Shrimp and grits, chicken and waffles, and brochette for cocktail hour. The guests were raving about them! Salad, post roast, vegetables, mac n cheese and jalapeno cornbread for dinner. The pot roast melted in your mouth and the flavor was incredible! The vegetable presentation was grand. They were on a huge round metal plate that was heated to keep them warm. The mac n cheese was sinful! SO good!! Best ever! And of course whats not to like about jalapeno cornbread?! I am left wanting it all again!! The event staff was excellent! They were so helpful. Even when I needed something non food related they were there to assist. They cleaned up quickly and I never heard dishes clanging. The clean up was so thorough and once done they made sure that I had no other requests before they left. The day after the wedding LCQ called to make sure I was satisfied with their services. I finally used a Groupon I purchased about 6-8 months ago for dinner for 2 plus 2 cupcakes. I've been checking the menu and called 2 days ago and ordered for my pick up today. When I walked in I was greeted by two, beautiful smiling ladies. They had my order to me in a minute and there was no attitude due to this being a Groupon transaction. Dinner was a huge chicken breast with a pecan crust, green beans and Mac and cheese. The portions were huge! I loved the chicken and green beans, the Mac and cheese not so much. The cheese took forever to melt in the warming process and it left a oozing grease puddle on the plate. So overall, 3.5 stars. They are known for their shrimp and grits but I came here for their cupcakes. They offer different flavors everyday and the cupcake frosting is not overwhelmingly sweet. Low Country Quisine catered our wedding and it was the best decision! We have been told multiple times (both during and after the wedding) that it was the best catering-- and we agree! The shrimp n grits hor dourves were my husbands favorite (he would've been content if that was all we served!), and I loved the mac n cheese! For main courses, we did buttermilk pecan chicken and pot roast. The pot roast was amazing. We have no regrets and loved working with Jolie, Susie, and their staff. After my wedding, I received a few compliments on my flowers, music, dress... but no one could stop talking about the food!!! It was the highlight of the night. People went crazy over the chicken with honey sriracha glaze, but honestly, everything on my plate was insanely delicious. Jolie and her team killed it. This place is great!! I live nearby and ordered a custom cake for my friend's birthday. It was beautifully designed and delicious. Their red velvet is some of the best I've had. Plus, it was less than $100, which is a steal for a custom cake that serves 15-20 people. Great service, Jolie was very helpful in assisting with design selection, and even Googled pictures for me to have ideas to combine. I had a Groupon and it literally took 6 months before I could actually place an order. No matter when I called or how far in advance I attempted to place my order, I was told the meals were sold out. The ordering instructions were not clear on the site and neither was the menu. I couldn't believe that I kept getting told that I could not place my order. I even tried to place my order a week in advance, but to avail. When I was finally able to place my order via email (after the expiration date), I was told to choose any meal from the following week. When I requested the Monday meal on the previous Wednesday, I received no response until after 11 am on Monday stating that I couldn't get that order. So I placed an order for that Friday, the only day I could actually pick up a meal, and never received a response. As I was fed up with the back and forth, I decided to go in that Friday to pick up my order- shrimp and grits and cupcakes. I went in armed with my chain of emails in case there was a problem. Upon entering, I was given a really weird look by the own and head chef. I told her what I ordered, handed her my Groupon and the emails. I then had to explain the last 6 months of my life and this horrible ordering process. After waiting 20 minutes, I finally left with my order- a special lunch I had planned for my husband and I. The cupcake icing was good, but the cupcake itself was very dry and crumbly (cookies and cream). The shrimp and grits were very good. Unfortunately, due to the horrible customer service, the company's superb unorganization, and overall negative experience, I will never frequent this establishment again. read more

I'm one of the Groupon purchasers also. I can't say enough about the shrimp and grits and cupcakes. I have never tasted anything so darn good. Creamed spinach very tasty with a cream cheese and buttery flavor. Cupcakes were extremely creamy and the frosting was smooth as butter and just heavenly. I had never had shrimp and grits before, but I am ordering them again and again. Best food I have possibly ever had. No, I do not know the owner and I had never heard of this business. I called before the expiration date and was told they were "sold out" of groupon meals until the following week. They were very generous about letting me use the groupon BEYOND the expiration date. We had a wonderful dinner of chicken, mac & cheese, green beans and cupcakes! Having read the review about someone's mac & cheese not being heated fully, I put it in the oven ALONE for 10 minutes then followed up with the chicken and then put the green beans in...I did this all at 350 in the oven instead of the micro. The quality of the food was good (I'm very picky about chicken and it was very tender.) As I said before, I will definitely be back to try the Shrimp and Grits and many more of their meals. This place has good food. It's a little place with little to no seats. You don't usually see people coming in because the place is ducked off and seems hidden. The service doesn't match the taste of the food. I been here plenty of times and they will NEVER have your food on time...NEVER. That's why I gave them a 3 star rating because it keeps happening. You call in for a reason, and they give you a time when it's "done". Just add 15 minutes in the mix and you're good. These people are completely disorganized! They sold Groupons that expired on 02/20, I called today (02/12) to place my order only to find out they have sold out of food for the Groupons until 02/21. I was told that I could get soup instead of the two meals and cupcakes I brought the Groupon for or I could on the 02/21 get some of the disgusting sounding BBQ Lasagne instead. If they sold the Groupons and collected the money for them, they should allow customers to use them thru the expiration date. Very poor planning on their parts. They ran a special on Groupon & I purchased the 2 dozen cupcakes deal. I ordered the Red Velvet & they are incredibly delicious! I loved how their cupcakes are different. They have cream cheese (instead of whipped cream) & a pecan topping. The best way to eat it is to devour it slowly, if you eat it too fast it may seem a little too sweet.
