Be ware! Do not use Lowco Garden Center to install a pool! [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have absolutely no customer service![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]In fact when you call their number, they will not take your call. They ask that you come to their location in Beaufort![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They will not return emails![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I still have a warranty on my pool. I have 2 pipes that are leaking, and they will NOT return my texts or emails. They were supposed to clean my newly installed pool last summer. They would not make the final cleaning, but asked that I get another company to do the work. They said that they would reimburse me. The cost was $175!!! They never sent payment to me! Do not trust these people! Especially their sales rep Ben! He will not return my calls or texts! This company is absolutely HORRIBLE!!!! read more

Had a pool installed and it has been a nightmare. Over a year and not completed, failed inspection and no response in 3 months. They did not installed the equipment we contracted for and they just don't care. Search and you will also find the owner screaming at a customer that he ripped of. Firstly, the reason for the 2 stars is because the ladies at the office are kind, welcoming and friendly. However, that's where the professionalism stops. We hired them for a small job for our front beds that would have progressed to a large re-landscaping of our back yard. The lack of communication from Dusty is frustrating at best. Once you get and sign the quote, you won't hear from him again. I know, I called and left 4 messages for him. He showed up to our job long enough to say he was there and peeled wheels out of our neighborhood. We called to voice a concern and he hung up on my husband! 1/2 of the install had to be ripped out and redone due to the poor work. The rock they laid is a much cheaper product than Lowe's. The job look amateur and I'm embarrassed by the price I paid. Overall, the craftsmanship didn't live up to the price. I cannot recommend them. read more

[[HIGHLIGHT]]I waited months to post a review, hoping the original integrity and value we saw would come back around, but after zero follow up from the owner and his staff I feel compelled to share![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We contracted a pool for well into the six figure sales amount and once the initial contract was signed we could never reach the owner again.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Horrible communication thru the whole process, unless they had a draw due and wanted their money instantly.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] No real project manager , just subs - the child at their office that they supposedly have running the projects is terrible. Never ordered products on time, ordered wrong products regularly! Wrong Pool heater - gave us a natural gas heater when we only have Propane on site, ordered lights for the pool that did not align with the system, poured the pool shell wrong and than wanted to charge us for what their sub was charging them to fix it to the specified and permitted design! Ordered the wrong pool deck pavers because what we selected months prior wasn't available due to waiting and then selected something on their own that was not even close. Never ordered the pool tile we selected and then had to go thru 12 other choices to find one they could get to keep the project moving. Didn't handle inspections properly, cramming several in that they needed near completion for payment, resulting in our pool deck pavers now sinking everywhere due to them pulling up to expose grounding wire everywhere and than not compacting where they dug things up! Not paying their subs on time resulted in some of them calling us apologizing for work delays until they got paid ..... clearly seemed our full on time payments were funding other pools and we got progress when they sold another one and likely got an influx of cash to catch up ..... super dangerous process! The list could go on, so please call someone else! [[HIGHLIGHT]]We asked weeks ago to call for a final inspection... literally 8-9 months post contract.... 3 weeks have gone by and no call back, no inspection.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Called for help with the Pool heater they clearly ordered and installed incorrectly ..... they never responded and the poor pool cleaning company that supports them is the only one that has tried to help.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Two months after pool completion and Still NO working heater. The owner should have his license revoked for such poor leadership and horrible business practices. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Joe Bryson was the only person that had good follow up and integrity, unfortunately after full payment which we knew was a mistake without the heater working yet has also chosen to not even acknowledge our requests the past few weeks.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] LowCo Pool & LowCo Gardeners should be banned from working in Hilton Head and surrounding areas. Don't let these clowns fool you!! We hired them to install a pool and back patio. Gave them deposit on Feb 5 and didn't start til May 29 for starters. When they first started they dug out the pool backwards, then once corrected we became their weekend project (their words (Ronny). [[HIGHLIGHT]]This was not shared with us prior that due to us being an hour and a half away they couldn't get to us often. Despite our multiple inquiries about the distance before we hired them.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] A month in the build they relocated a large tree so violently that it never stood a chance of surviving, once dead we asked multiple times for them to remove it. Once the pool was in and the old patio torn down the backyard became a mud pit and they were in no rush to pour concrete. When it finally arrived it was a poor quality and had to be redone. They "outsourced" the patio concrete pour and it was head and shoulders better than the first pour that they did. When they started on the patio we asked Rony if he knew how to build a covered patio and he said "I can read the directions" and "it Was a simple build." Luckily our city inspector came out and inspected along the way, because he pointed out all the failures and had to tell them how to fix. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We kept getting messages from Ronny that he knew they had neglected us and promised it would get better. It did not.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They hired a company to finish the build and they left us with poor craftsmanship and left 3 major "errors" on the roofing that if not fixed would cause much water damage eventually (after all said and done we hired our own guy to fix LoCo's mistakes. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ben (project manager) would only reach out to us when he wanted money and didn't return calls.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Buy when he would call he'd say "when it's all done, it will be beautiful". When the pool was installed the filter flapper didn't fit and Rony said "just don't use it it works without it" (we bought one and replaced) and when we noticed the handrail was tilted he said "that's the best we can do". Also the lighting on the pool was installed using an off brand that was not compatible with the pool equipment and they had to show us a very confusing workaround just to change the colors of the lights. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They quit responding to our texts and calls in Sept (and asking us for more money).[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We had to spend more money fixing their unsafe and shoddy work. Do not let them talk you into anything! They promise everything and deliver crap! We would never recommend them to anyone for ANY kind of job! While we do have a pool and a patio it is so sad that it was NOT installed and completed by professionals... they are fast talking children attempting to be professional pool/patio builders. read more

Stay far away from this company! We contracted them for fencing our yard.They used the cheapest wood and it began splitting in 6-8 months time. Boards are warped and the gates are as well. Totally disorganized from management down. Untrained and uncaring crews - damaged my home, threw the plants in the ground, did poor work on repairing my irrigation systemand after this winter most of the plants they planted are dead. Not a single thing on this job came out right. No management would ever contact me unless they were trying to get paid. Extremely unprofessional. It appears that all they are trying to do is sell as many jobs as possible even if they can't handle the ones they have. I ended up with improperly installed drains. $1,000 of dollars of damage to my lawn, a slab poured the wrong size. I have not been able to talk directly to an owner or manager about my complaints for weeks. My only mistake was paying them the balance on their word they will make everything right. They have some slick talking salesman but these guys are hacks and broadline thieves. I don't use those terms lightly and don't ever right negative reviews but I could not walk away from this with out warning our community about these guys. read more

They planted our shrubs and trees on our neighbors property and installed our French drain on the neighbors property and refused to come out and fix it. These people have no idea what they are doing. BUYER BEWARE! Unprofessional, incompetent and unethical liars. Contracted in January 2023 for complete new front, back and side yard landscaping including raised beds, pavers, edging, mulch, shrubs, trees and irrigation. A total cost of over $13,000 plus a separate design fee charge of $250. Project began in extremely rainy/muddy conditions resulting in severe damage to existing sodded lawn. The approved Design Plan was not adhered to. All of the beds, front, back and sides were constructed much large than the approved plan, resulting in insufficient shrubs, plants, mulch and rock. Irrigation drip lines were left exposed and laying on top of the soil. At least 12 different plants and a $600 tree were not planted deep enough, resulting in plants laying on their sides and the tree uprooted entirely within 2 months of planting. 24 of the planted shrubs were either the incorrect variety or color per the contract. The sprinkler system does not cover one side of the front yard. It was never tested. I notified the supervisor and the owner Hames Varnes of all of these problems as they occurred. Mr. Varnes assured me that all of the issues would be "made right" if I paid the final invoice. I took him at his word and made the final payment on February 1, 2023. Huge mistake! No action was initiated by LowCo. After many phone calls, I was directed to Joe Brinson, the General Manager, for resolution. Initially Mr. Brinson was responsive and agreed that the job was incomplete and inadequate. He also provided his own guarantee, in writing, to "make it right". They apparently love using that phrase. Mr. Brinson made an appointment to come to the house on March 18, 2023 to completely assess the problems and coordinate resolution. Mr. Brinson never showed up for the appointment or called to reschedule. I have made dozens of phone calls, sent text and emails to both Mr. Varnes and Mr. Brinson in the subsequent months without any response of any kind. I have also filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I am a 76 year old widow on a fixed income and unable to correct these issues on my own. I expected better. read more

We decided to switch our services this year to another gardener that provided a private home flower landscaping package. We were mostly pleased with the other company but they experienced staff changes and we weren't comfortable moving forward with them. For the most part, company A provided us with outstanding florals that were packed into our beds into a beautiful colorful medley. You could obviously tell this gardener had tons of experience in commercial planting, as when they left each bedding site on our property the area was beautiful and completely FULL right from the start. Public spaces and businesses don't want to wait weeks for impact and neither do we. The quote delivered to us seemed way over the top, and I was hesitant to agree to it but knowing I couldn't do it myself I acquiesced. I would have loved to oversee the planting materials and project as it was unfolding, but I was wheelchair bound due to an accident. I could see that there was a large crew and they were very busy in our backyard. I thought, ok, this going well. I hadn't had a chance to actually peruse each garden until a few days ago. And I almost cried. Thousand of dollars were spent and it looked no different (actually it would have been waaaaaay better) then if my husband and I went to Lowe's and planted them ourselves. My biggest complaint regarding the services of Company A was that my request for instant color under our majestic live oak didn't seem to register. We ended up with spiny type greens that never amounted to anything. I stated this oversight again and again with the staff person from Loco when they did the preliminary walk through. Apparently, the crew here has no ears either. Crushed and disappointed. I would say that you provided only 35-40% of the specimens that we received from Company A. And it was at a fraction of your cost. The design was haphazard with absolutely no cohesive thought. Even the plantings you chose were weak and not the most desirable. We asked for huge punches of color and big blooms. Never, never again. read more

Hired LowCo Gardeners for landscaping repairs (shrubbery that froze, low wire fencing around backyard planters to keep dogs out, & new mulch front & back). The job was not finished (although they were paid in full) & then became nonresponsive to calls, texts -- they were even a no show twice & never came back again. Dusty, their sales rep, is full of promises & dates he's going to be at your house but but don't rely on anything he tells you! And sadly LowCo Gardeners does not back up the work of their employees! read more

Poor Customer Service, Unreliable, Actually cut the wrong yard by mistake, no management, look somewhere else save your time and money

On April 3, they sent a landscape designer out for a consultation. We gave them $1500 for a consultation and design. We were to have a follow up meeting to get our design on April 26. The designer texted us to let us know she had been fired. The business never called us and explained. Finally, a new consultant called and scheduled an appointment, came to the house and did the same exact thing. They said it would be a couple of weeks before we got our design back. When we got the design back, it was exactly what we had designed ourselves using free online software. in the meantime, we had spent the previous week trying and trying and trying to get someone from the business to give us a call back. They did not call us back until I left a message stating we wanted our money back. We received a couple of emails stating that they could not give us a refund of our $1500 because of all the time they had spent on developing our design. It took us exactly 90 minutes to develop the same exact design using the free online software. So, not only did we not get our moneys worth, the customer service was extremely poor, and the emails we received were not exactly friendly, or customer oriented. Then on top of that, they wanted an extraordinary amount of money to do the work that we asked for. Very, very disappointing. read more

I got some concrete done in the back yard for a patio I'm building. part of the concert is the slope the wrong way and water builds up every time it rains. Which means foundation issues in the long run. I have called them and even went to the building. they keep giving me the run around about how they want to fix it and they agreed it's a problem. but it's been months now and still no follow up or and date set to come and fix it. I didn't know much about concrete and when I started learning I kind noticed, how unprofessional everyone was. they didn't put plastic on the house so concrete splattered on the walls. I understand that this kind of work is dirty but they didn't bother to bring anything to clean it up. I had to go to my house and use a towel. If I didn't say anything, they would have left it, this company really made me feel that my hard earned money was nothing. I paid $4,000 for 16' x 21' broomed concrete. I'm still waiting for them to fix it and til then ima keep this review a 1 star read more

I have several beds that need trimming, cleaning out, and new plants added. Joshua came out, took notes, and sent me a quote within 2 days. I told him I was only going to start with part of the job and asked if he could stop by to explain the plants and plans to me. We set up 9am on 3/17. He didn't come and I never heard from him. I called LowCo and left a detailed message with a real person - still nothing! I stopped into the business on3/28 and explained it all to a woman who took all my information and took it into the landscaping department. Still nothing!
