Store is clean and staff is friendly but lines at the register are always long with only 1-2 cashiers working.

Great neighborhood store for us Old Towners. Surprising selection of items for a corner market.

Was in D.C. on travel. Went for lunch. This is probably the most fresh, diverse, nutritious and delicious salad bar I've ever had.

I was surprised at how much they got packed into that little store - a full meat &a cheese counter, sushi deli, olive bar and rotisserie chicken stand and more!

They have a MASSIVE selection of western herbs and the quality cannot be beat. They also have a ton of Chinese formulas plus tinctures, salves, balms ointment and......HOME-MADE-FLORIDA WATER!! Oh, and they have a bunch of beautiful teas as well. The ladies working there were very kind, patient and knowledgable. I will certainly be back begging them to take my money. Even better, now I have a local shop with everything I need and I don't have to call up Berkeley for my herb orders. I feel really grateful to have found Red Root.

Before the workshop, some friends had the opportunity to peruse the wide array of herbs and plants offered by store. It had to be the largest selection I've ever seen! Thank you Kate for answering all of our questions. I'd also love to give a big shout out to Dra. Mónica Lucero! She is a light in every room and inspires -- the community is lucky to have such a great practitioner in their midst. Unfortunately I didn't have time to get treatment during my visit, but the interactions I observed between client and practitioner reassures that Red Root is dedicated to providing care kindly, with vast knowledge, and professional excellence.

Playing tourist for our friend's birthday on this lovely June Tuesday! Rode our bikes here which…read moreis always a bonus. I hadn't heard of this place before so it was definitely a shot in the dark. We hit a bullseye. Lunch menu consisted of New Mexican favorites, Posole and fry bread. Also, the salads look amazing. It's really cool because on the other side of the bar there's a tiny grocery store serving fresh produce as well as dry pintos, red chile pods and posole of course! Can't wait to come back again for some cocktails on the patio! If you haven't been here, I'd say it's a must!

The food and coffee here aren't excellent. No question. Surprisingly strong spice level for an old town location, good range of New Mexican AND coffee shop menu options for breakfast and lunch. I had the enchiladas and added eggs and bacon, which is essentially Huevos Rancheros the way it is served in bowl form. Potatoes, beans, and chile flavors all complimented each other well, nice garnish and nice presentation. Had house coffee which is SOLID. The service style is counter ordering with a number, which for me is a great system. Negative - the coffee service with food is a bit confusing. Coffee comes in a paper cup for everyone apparently, which feels a bit sloppy. Mugs would be really nice. Also, because coffee is served with meal by table delivery, coffee takes a long time to get to the table. I personally like my coffee immediately and intravenously, so this was frustrating. The patio is lovely - the tables are weird. There are only large group tables, no small tables. BIGGEST Negative - parking. I looked at the social media, menu, website, and the parking problem is not addressed anywhere that I could easily find. The adjacent city lot is priced for tourists - $12 flat rate. Given that the numerous other breakfast options in the area have free and close parking, in our lamentably car-driven culture, Tiny Grocer is at a big disadvantage. I'm sure this is a recurring and difficult problem, and I would suggest blasting a solution on all social media, pinned posts, first line in bio, menu, everywhere. People could park on 18th st, 19th st, next to Tiguex park, and take a short walk to a lovely experience.
