Big relief. I'm moving over to the west side and when I yelped supermarket this little gem didn't come up. (whaaaa?!) The first thing I scope out about a new neighborhood is food. It's not the first place I'd head to stock up and buy staples (ala Trader Joe's, The Co-Op and Smith's)--BUT, it is an excellent quick stop for a meal or groceries to tide me over for a few days. I got a few of their prepared food items and I think as far as supermarket deli-type items, these were the tastiest to me all of ABQ (with the exception of The Co-Op.) It's hard to get tasty supermarket pre-prepped food--the macaroni salad, cheddar broccoli soup, and rice pudding. Someone's palate there is good. I thought their prices were just about in line with Smith's and other stores. Some items were higher, some lower. read more

Lowe's is my neighborhood market. The butcher shop and produce are good. The liquor department is expensive and with COVID 19, they've shot up their prices even more. The staff is friendly and helpful, but the day manager is another matter. He's a small man with a Napoleon complex, and he likes to order customers around with a type of rudeness that is unlike anything else I've experienced. Today, he ordered everyone in the Customer Service line to wait outside, even though there was no sign that we were to be treated differently from other customers. I complained stating that this is not clear when we've 15 minutes to go into the store that customer service is not considered a regular part of its service. I've had run ins with this man before, and every time I think this is the last time I'll go in there, despite its convenience. Now, I'm convinced. read more

FRIENDLY AND HONEST PEOPLE!! I lost my wallet around the store (im here for vacation from Illinois) and one of the staff put it in the office for me, money, cards, ID and all. I shop there 2/3 times a week as I live two blocks away. Unfortunately, they don't have all the brands I like, but for emergency staples they're fine. The help is great, except for a sullen, dismissive cashier named Vivian. She barely grunts a response if you talk to her. What's the prob, Vivian? Lighten up! read more

Great store! Awesome prices on produce, good selection of healthy, "high-end" groceries and also budget items. I was surprised at how much they got packed into that little store - a full meat &a cheese counter, sushi deli, olive bar and rotisserie chicken stand and more! Lowe's Market is the worst grocery store in Albuquerque. Maybe anywhere! This grocery store offers a pathetic selection of literally every type of thing: produce, canned goods, vegetarian-friendly foods (like fake meats, of which they have none), etc. They don't even have a full aisle of cosmetics/shampoos/soaps to offer -- only a pathetic, tiny section of one aisle. This store is tiny, unwelcoming, and the cashiers are rude. They have never once looked me in the eye and said hello (or anything else) when ringing me up. Then, despite its shortcomings, this place has the audacity to be expensive, too! I spend about 30% more on my normal grocery list than I do at someplace infinitely better, like Sprouts. Even their bags of ice are expensive! To top this all off, this is the type of place that makes you weigh your produce and print labels for it. This is not the customer's job -- it's the cashier's job. To make matters worse, they have a recording playing on an infinite loop in the produce section detailing how to do this. This type of practice is understandable in a grocery store like Whole Foods that has a huge produce section. Looking up the specific type of specialty jicama you have could take a long time and hold up cashier lines! But I must repeat: I can fit the entirety of Lowe's pathetic produce section in my bedroom. There is no need to make the customer do the cashier's job. Don't shop at Lowe's. Go literally anywhere else. This place is horrible. read more

More like Blowe's! This place is super overpriced, ghetto, has terrible selection, and makes you weigh your own produce. Horrible. Rather than a grocery store it's more like a big convenience store. They have most of the stuff you need but will invariably be missing something. Case in point, I went in with my shopping list and they had everything except black beans. Who sells out of black beans? On the up side they have a good beer selection. Downside, they have a horrible bread selection. At least they've got their priorities straight. read more

Had a very strange experience checking out here. The card reader asked me to slide my card - as a consumer most of us know that the card readers say this even when you need to insert. I asked the cashier if I needed to insert or slide and instead of answering w a simple one word answer, "slide," she preceded to lecture me about how management forbid her from prompting customers on how to pay at their portal and all she was allowed to do was tell me to read the written instructions. She told me at length that an elderly woman had complained about her prompting to slide. I pointed out that I specifically asked and was therefore not likely to get mad and that she was refusing to answer my question and she retorted that she could only help customers w the credit card reader under "extreme circumstances." Very odd. read more

One star for judgemental, condescending treatment from staff. My fiancee and I are visiting our friend who lives in Albuquerque, right near this store. We came in to buy groceries to make dinner at around 8:30pm. We had just been at a brewery where my fiancee had literally one beer, our friend had the specialty half non-alcoholic kombucha, half beer drink, and I had one non-alcoholic kombucha. I had selected a bottle of Korbel champagne to go with our dinner and as we were being rung up, the woman ringing us up looked at the three of us 30+ year olds and out of the blue said, "how much have you ladies had to drink tonight?" We were all surprised by this very unexpected, vaguely invasive question in this context of a grocery store and that we were completely sober. Taken aback, but congenially, my fiancee answered this question truthfully, saying the list of what we drank. The woman then said, "you all smell like booze so I can't sell you this," and put the champagne bottle under the register. Nothing about this interaction made any sense and felt like an arbitrary, subjective misuse of power, paired with completely tactless delivery. read more

Was in D.C. on travel. Went for lunch. This is probably the most fresh, diverse, nutritious and delicious salad bar I've ever had.

This is a great stop for fresh deli meats and fresh vegetables. You have got to stop in for the sushi. It is made daily, chef on demand. Delicious stop for a quick and fresh lunch. They also have soups, and other great grab and go bites. read more

The staff are very nice and helpful. Has a small town neighborhood feel to it. Drawback is that the prices are terrible. I realize they may not be able to offer walmart size savings but everything seems to majorly overpriced. read more
