It's a Lowes Foods, y'all, but it's a good one! Lowes has become a staple in our household when the local Food Lion doesn't cut it. This location is clean, well stocked, and the employees have incredible customer service. What more could you ask for in a grocery store? Oh, and getting kid cakes that are reasonably priced, is one of my favorite parts. Last year, I spent $70 on a custom cake and my daughter liked the $30 cake from Lowe's just as well. Single momma on a budget and this made a difference. I will absolutely support local bakeries when she's older and cares more about flavor than pretty princesses and icing. read more

Listen! If you want some good fried chicken order ahead and give them a try. When KFC went so high I couldn't afford it anymore i started looking elsewhere. I am happy to say i found it at Lowes Foods on Dixie drive. Its fresh and good. I ordered before to take to a family who had lost a loved one. It was a instant hit. Comes in a pleasing package too. Mindy is fantastic, and keeps an excellent selection of local NC craft brews. The chicken kitchen is always stocked and fresh, the deli is great. Deli staff is awesome! The folks in the front suck. I shopped here 3 evenings in a row whilst in Asheboro and each time my positive deli experience was all but ruined by the checkers. Jobe is a lazy clown who regularly engaged his colleagues in conversation when they were trying to ring out customers. On my final visit, Jobe's chatting resulted in some items that I paid for not being included in my basket. I only realised this upon return to my hotel and forced me to drive back. I then had to wait as the staff looked for JOBE who was supposedly in charge?!? Not finding him after almost 10mins; the checker finally told me to go get the missing items on my receipt. With prices going through the roof, paying a bit more you expect a bit better. Holds true here for the most part. BUT, nothing like going to the market and wincing about how much you spend, only to have a panhandler hit you up in the parking lot as you load. Four out of the last 5 visits. Enough. Amazing customer service! Lowe's Foods has such a comforting atmosphere, and the employees are always so kind and helpful. Only thing is it's a little pricey. I will say though Lowe's has some of the best produce out of all the grocery stores in Asheboro. read more

This is the nicest grocery store in Asheboro, no it's not the least expensive but it is not competing with Just Save, so it's not supposed to be. The produce dept is A+ and if you appreciate quality and great service, you will like this store. read more

Been shopping here for years because its the best place in town to get quality produce and a really good selection of fresh produce and meats. They are buying from local North Carolina farms when possible, which helps real farmers who grow real food. Friendly, stable staff. Clean store. Convenient parking. Relatively easy access from and back onto Highway 64. Lowe's Foods is my go-to for groceries. read more

I actually give this place 4.5 stars. Always clean, full of friendly people, huge selection of higher end groceries. And the wine selection really ain't shabby for a grocery store. I stop at the last .5 of a star because of the checkout. Cashiers are super friendly, but what is up with the staffing? Where is everybody? Why do they have to bag their own groceries? And the platforms to place your groceries are super tiny. I'd rethink the front end. Everything else is fine. read more

Overall Lowe's was my #1 store and I was loyal weekly until I listened to others saying "OMG.. they are the highest on groceries". I found out for myself shopping around as what I've mentioned above don't even scratch the surface. I found 80% of the groceries at Lowe's Foods to be the highest. From Jan. 2018 thru March I paid close attention to Lowe's prices snapping a pic of prices. When comparing I said to myself "why go back to Lowe's and pi$$ my money away again" ? I have not shopped at Lowe's Foods now for almost 4 months as they are between 2 FoodLion's in a 4 mile stretch. Paying close attention I know I am saving money mostly going to Foodlion buying the same name brands for less and some items even $2 to $3 cheaper. read more

Lowes Foods in Asheboro has made a significant change!! The food is fresh, the service is friendly, and they have lots of unique amenities. For instance, you can choose your produce (great selection) and they will prep it any way you ask while you shop. There is an actual garden planted in produce from which you can snip the fresh herbs you need. They have yummy pizzas to take home and cook in about 10 mins. They have a great beer and wine selection. The prices are good too. My favorite new convenience is there Food To Go. I made a grocery list on line at where they give you photos to choose your products...they prep the produce like you tell them and I added to it the next day before I chose my pick up time and hit send. They called 1 hour before pick up time and ask me to make one substitution. Then on the way there I thought of something I'd omitted so I called them and told the clerk about it. She very friendlily said 'sure'....I drove up, pushed the buzzer, popped my trunk, read my email, in a few moments, the clerk popped out with my groceries, swiped my card and we chatted. I was pulling away in less than 15 mins. I had homemade dinner cooking within 20 mins. read more

This week's special: Buy one pound of boars head deli meat, get maggots for free!! The deli is filthy and there were at least 10 flies swarming the meat with the workers nonchalantly waving the uncovered meat at them. When a slab of roast fly loaf--I mean roast beef--was picked up from the meat slicer, several more flies flew up off the meat. Buyer beware, as the dreary employees looked like they were cast out of Upton Sinclair's "The Jungle." Fly away from this store...unless you want free protein. read more

The store has been redone and looks lovely. Lowes has truly step up there game. I will have to say this is the nicest store in asheboro or randleman. The check outs are named after local streets witch I thought was a cool idea. Also the Beer Den has some of the most knowledgeable staff, that will break down every beer for you. The fresh made pizza are so good and only 2-10$. If you have not been in to check out the revamped lowes then you need to make it your next shopping spot you will not regret it! read more

About as large a selection as you'll find in Asheboro sans Wal-mart. Recent renovation looks nice, inside and out. Fairly well stocked deli featuring Boar's Head brand meats which is basically the reason I shop here. Fresh baked items, freshly prepared chicken, (I especially like the rotisserie garlic and herb) a new growler station too if you're into that sort of thing. An Asheboro first I would think. They also have a new "clip your own" herb section, but I've no idea how it works and didn't have to time to browse it my last visit. My largest complaint would be their produce section always seems like shelves full of seconds. Know what I mean? Bruised and unappetizing looking produce is not conducive to wanting to purchase. Especially lettuce, green onions, baked potatoes, cilantro and other easily bruised items... It seems like the kind you would find at discount stores which carry less fresh items. A better product in this area could get my shopping down to one place other than having to go to Wal-mart to find Baked Tostito Scoops. lol. Lowes carried them in the past, but I haven't seen them since the renovation. I usually run over to Food Lion on Hwy 49 for my produce needs though. (they don't have the baked Scoops either, nor do they carry Boar's Head deli meats) I usually find much better quality produce there though. read more
