They also had a High Point police officer at the door ensuring no issues, I'm not clear if that's a daily thing, or just during busier times of the year. They carry a good selection of alcohol, in many cases, even offering several brands for more common items like vodka, whiskey, and bourbon. They don't sell any beer at the ABC store, and I don't frequent them though to be able to say if any do. But they cart the hard stuff, some mixers and a very small selection of snacks.

The group that I travel with is about 25 people total. Last week my friend and I went to buy a few things and the employee was very pushy for us to buy drink mixers, which we absolutely hate. We politely declined to buy them, paid for our stuff and left. Tonight we go again and he AGAIN tried to push us to buy nasty drink mixers, we politely declined AGAIN (same guy) and when it was time to pay for our 4 bottles of different liquors (don't judge) he said he couldn't sell to us because we had a TEXAS ID....REALLY?? REALLY??? WTF is that about? So if our ID is issued in Texas, somehow we can't buy liquor? That's weird, because he did last week, and every bar in town has had no problem with our Texas IDs. Funny rule for a liquor store in a town where 35,000 [eople come from all over the world for the furniture market. Also, my biggest problem was the mean and almost insulting way he said it. He was just a huge jerk. I would understand if that actually was the law and he explained it nicely, but it's like he got satisfaction telling us no. I seriously don't know what his problem is, but we are both pretty angry and we will just drive a few extra miles to avoid that total douche bag. The humidor is well stocked with many lines from a few brands, rather than stocking a few lines from a bunch of brands. I like this approach. They have an extensive selection of Fuentes and Padrons, and feature Drew Estate in a smaller humidor in the main room. If I had more time I would have enjoyed having them walk me through some of the brands I did not recognize. I was also impressed by the low pressure sales strategy. I went in looking for a butane insert for my Zippo lighter and the guy (regret not getting his name) said they didn't carry them because they could not compete with Amazon pricing. He then walked me through their selection of butane lighters, from $8 disposables up to $100 Xicars (we didn't look at the Duponts b/c not in my price range). I ended up buying a $60 Xicar and can of butane and left very happy. It's not the biggest store, but what they carry is smartly curated. There are seats and ashtrays on the front porch of the house for smoking, and I think you can also smoke inside as I spied a lounge in the back. I n addition to the name, the location is a bit unusual, across the street from a park in a residential neighborhood a couple of blocks off of Stratford Road. So, it is not at all hard to get to, but it's no place you would just drive by and stop at on the spur of the moment.

I went twice during December for vanilla vodka (hello Christmas vibes!) and to my surprise, the Stolis vanilla vodka was on sale for $15.99! What a steal! It's usually $21.99. I'm sure this was a holiday special and maybe all the stores had it but I was still pleasantly surprised and delighted.
