But since my handyman capabilities are not this evolved, i find this store borderline oppressive. Huge isles i hardly ever manage to find what i am looking for (unless escorted by an amazingly friendly staff), carpet selections i find hard to understand the difference between (Italy has gotten ridden of carpet floors back in the early 80s... and for good health reasons). Their tiles choices are really not my style. Overall, this place is a humongous BRICO CENTER meet LEROY MERLIN. I simply adore their garden section as well as their patio selection... The 4th star is for their AMAZING kid's project. Every week end during the summer yoy can sign up your kid for a wood building work shop. I swear this is one of the worst places I've ever shopped. Please make sure that whenever you're buying something new, you open the box and check that it's actually brand new before you take it home. My husband spent over $300 on a new air conditioner. We got it home only to find it covered in dog hair, leaking, and clearly used. It was absolutely disgusting. Then today, we came back to buy paint. The employee assured us the paint was white, but when we got home, we discovered they had given us red paint instead. Lowe's, you really need to do better. Everyone tries to shop local, but sometimes Lowe's is the place to go. Big Box means great selection and sometimes a good price. Sometimes it takes a while to find straight lumber. Sometimes 500 screw choices is too much. Finding help can be hard. But I usually find what I need and leave happy. One good thing is the new My Lowe's account. You get points for your purchases, and that adds up to discounts. I'm in! Just get the Lowes app and give the cashier your phone number. I've already got 4 or 5 discounts, and it helps! Lowe's didnt get our business today. We got passed over by 3 different employees today that refused to help us, so we went to home depot instead. One employee went so far as to tell us that he was busy helping another customer and then right in front of us walked up to another man and say hey how can I help you. We ordered all appliances needed for our new home two weeks in advance. The day before scheduled delivery, no one contacted us as they said they would. I called the store and they said our appliances would be delivered as scheduled. The next day I went to the store and they said everything was on the truck. Three hours later, they called me to say it would be 12 more days. I cancelled my $2600 order and went elsewhere. read more

No one walks into lowes thinking they are going to have a great time shopping with a stranger but I sure did!! I had a laundry list of supplies to gather and I was greeted right away by Kelly. She knew what aisle and what end every single thing was on without flaw. She was fun and the most helpful person I have had the pleasure of meeting shopping anywhere! I ended up with 3 buggies, she took them up front and brought a new one when it was full, just amazing and appreciated for sure. Would have taken half the afternoon for me to find it all on my own. There is no such thing as customer service with this store. After waiting two weeks for a refrigerator, the day of the delivery the guy basically dumped it in my kitchen and left it. He never showed me any features and left it wrapped in plastic. I would think after paying about 1400.00 the guy would take the plastic off. There was a time when customer service mattered. Bought a Whirpool washer from here on 11/10/22, it lasted 3 months and broke on 2/26/23 their service provider came out and ordered the part. Had to wait till 3/24/23 for the part to come in & get installed, washer worked for 3 loads of laundry and Broke again! I had to wait until April for them to come check it again and order parts, mind you Whirlpool would make an appointment for me & nobody would show up, so I had to call myself to get an appointment. This washer is under a Manufactory Warranty! The service provider came back out after the parts came in May 3.."fixed it".. so I put a load of towels, go to work come home, the towels are soaked..not washed and this washer will not do anything! Now it is May 9th,2023, it has been 3 months & one week since I have had a washer! 5 Service calls! 2 different techs! Called Raul a store manager at Lowe's (TWICE), you sold me this defective product I want in store credit or a full refund! He said the only thing I can do since it is under a Manufactory Warranty is call them, I asked if they had a direct line to Whirlpool, he gives me the same number I already have! Went to Lowe's (Abilene) today. What an ever disappointing experience. I can't tell you how many times a year I go in there and leave empty-handed and aggravated. I have been in there enough the last 7 years to know where everything is. Almost every time I am there I have another customer that comes up to me needing help finding something. And then they start telling me about how much they hate coming into these 2 stores. How counter-productive that you're so short-staffed, further exacerbated by the fact that you will only hire young, unknowledgeable people that you seem to be counting on quitting in about 2 months or less, as opposed to hiring an educated, knowledgeable, loyal, customer friendly older person such as myself. In the last seven months I have submitted about a dozen job applications with Lowe's and had 6 interviews. I was even told after one interview that I was hired and expect to be called in two days for further instructions. After hearing nothing, on the fourth day I called that manager (Raul) to remind him that I hadn't gotten my call. He tells me that he decided to hire some one else. So, what is wrong with these managers? How can you have successful businesses when exceptional mediocrity is acceptable? Three days ago, in the tool area, a fellow down the isle from me, got my attention him cursing Lowe's out loud, he says it just pisses him off to have to come into that******* store because no help, and to get one thing he has to buy a package of other things he has no use for for more money. I really like this store for variety of products it carries. From bird feeders to bathtubs. I took a star off because they seem to always be short staffed. But I guess that's the "new normal". I liked the old normal a lot better. They are very military friendly. Many of the associates are ex- military. However, when you do locate an associate they are very knowledgeable (or they find someone who is) friendly and very helpful. Went there today to get ply board. Went to look for an associate to assist us w cutting it to dimensions we needed. Went out back and seem to have interrupted two men talking (not about work). I politely asked if one of them could assist us and he said yeah. When they came inside we had to wait for them to off load a cart of PVC pipes. They didn't care that we were standing beside them waiting. I notice the cutting machine at the back. So, I thought maybe he didn't think that we were ready. So, I asked if he would like us to push our cart towards the machine and wait. His response was... well that's where the cutting machine is, as if I was supposed to have known that's where he wanted us to wait. There was no need to be rude. It's not like we made you do something that wasn't in your job description or inconvenienced you bc you were busy. Your job involves assisting customers. It's good for business. There was something about us that he didn't care for and he let us know the entire time. read more

Worst experience of my life in the kitchen department!! Designer ordered the wrong size cabinets after waiting 4 weeks for them to come in. Then they wouldnt make it right and try to tell me that I would just have to deal with what they ordered like if I didnt have any other choice. Finally got a manager to place the correct size order so we sent them back and had to wait 5 more weeks. They would never return calls I had to deal with the manager directly. The delivery dates kept getting pushed backed. No one ever knew what they were talking about except the manager. I went without cabinets for 3 months bc they did such a poor job of designing, ordering and customer service was horrible. Never again!!!! read more

Beware of garden center advice!!! In March I went into Lowe's to find a crabgrass preventer, and to find instruction exactly when and how to apply it. He explained procedure and recommended weed n feed approximately two weeks later. I purchased Scott's Halt Crabgrass Preventer, and followed the directions he gave to me. I now have crabgrass!!!!! I contacted Scott's and they told me I should not have applied the weed n feed. I contacted two different managers in the garden center regarding the problem. Neither one apologized for the bad advice nor were they willing to do anything to remedy the problem. They only recommended another product that I could buy instead. I certainly will not buy it from them. I will use a local nursery from now on. read more
