Home Depot has a great tool rental section. A multitude of items to rent that will make your job or project easier. I needed to rent a jackhammer. Went in, did the paperwork, loaded the tool in my truck. That is when I looked at my receipt. It turns out the rental does not include bits. They are a separate charge. SO, they rent you a tool you can't use in less you rent something else. I went home and took care of business and then returned the tool. I told him I only used one of the bits, so he did take off the charge for the other bit. Well, there was also a rental insurance charge on my bill. I asked if this was optional, and he said yes. I was not given that option and was charged for insurance that I didn't want. The point of this is to look at your charges before you sign anything. It will probably save you some money. read more

SO ITS BEEN ALMOST A YEAR SINCE USING HD BUT NOTHING HAS CHANGED I put in an online order on 05 July 23 (approx $5,500K) and got an email said 59 of 61 items were ready. Its after 6 pm and called to ensure I could pick it up that evening so the guys could continue working the following day. I called and was put on hold for more than 18 min then when someone went to pickup they hung up. I immediately called back bc its more than 15 miles to drive back into town to pickup this stuff with a trailer. They finally answered and immediately said "please hold" "I said NO bc its been another 15 minutes. Esmerelda said "well you have 3 customers ahead of you" I said "no-I doubt they been standing there for the 30 minutes while I was on terminal hold." She had a shitty, snotty tone with me. I said Ill drive in and the 3 of us can have a discussion" she says "well you just do that" in an arrogant tone then hung up. Now I'm pissed and drove into this hell hole they call HD. I arrive and immediately ask for the manager on duty. Myke finally comes out and now I see the problem with the employees. His attitude isn't much better. I asked him if more than 30 minuets on hold is acceptable? Depends he says. I asked him we need to have a discussion on your employee. He's like "wont do any good to you to say or do anything" and just wanted to get me and my order outa there. Hence the problem-the employees are never held accountable. There was 3 HD employees sitting on stools next to one guy running the cash register. Management failure! Again management is still the problem there! This store has gone thru 4 managers in the short time I've lived near here. I own houses in many different states, used many different HD's and this by far is the worst HD in the nation! I quit using HD for about a year bc of the fiasco when I was remodeling my kitchen, nothing has changed! One register open in the lumber area. One! Being that I parked by the garden center entrance (which was closed) only have to walk to the other side of the store to check out one item. There were four clerks at the customer pick up area at the other end of the store two of which were just standing there talking. You would think one of them could have walked the six feet to the closed register counter and opened up the register? Just one more reason I don't like to come here. This Home Depot currently has 2.5 stars. With the experience I had however, I have to give it five stars. I came to Home Depot to fix an emergency. I was able to hunt someone down and they could not have been more patient or helpful. They were able to customize what I needed to my exact specifications. Maybe fifteen minutes later, I was out of the store and on my way to handle said emergency. Now, I nearly made the mistake of going to Wal-Mart and I am so glad I did not. The result would not have come out the way I needed it and I don't even want to know what my day would have been like then. You saved me, Home Depot Abilene! Thank you very much! read more

Do not order anything from Home Depot. I ordered a 4 ton minisplit for 5500 bucks they keep changing the dates of delivery, lie to me when I call them. Do not call back like they say they will, and will still not tel me a possible delivery date or where the unit is. Buyer beware. read more

This Home Depot continues to go down hill.. We waited 45 minutes to try and get help with an unusual lightbulb we were trying to replace..... lots of employees wandering around or visiting with each other but no one could assist us. After 45 minutes of waiting for the intercom pages to be answered, I went to customer service and requested to speak to a manager. Customer service called him but he would not come speak to me, I waited another 15 minutes for him.... Never showed. I asked for his name but customer service said she didn't know who was on duty (even though she had just spoken to him on the phone).... Do not order curbside pickup here. I needed two items today. One item was ready for pickup. The other was not despite being available in the store. In the store, I was told I could buy the other item but they couldn't cancel it there because the original order had already started shipping. After getting home, I called Home Depot to cancel. For some reason, they were shipping that item to me and would not cancel the order. read more

if I could, I would give it zero stars for customer service. The lady at the pros checkout counter was extremely rude and almost snotty to me. Her cockiness and better than everybody attitude at the pros desk extremely offensive. As far as the store goes, it has less his selection than Lowes. I don't know the guys name but whoever worked today (18 Feb 23) around 3 pm in the paint department at the southwest drive store, was so damn nice. I was so interested in the paint making process, he let me come in and create my friends paint that she needed. He taught me how and let me do it myself and i was so fucking excited. He was the sweetest and funniest guy. He made me die laughing. If anyone knows who he is, let me know so i can take him out on a date. He has 5 days left there and he deserves the best! read more

The "manager" at this store sucks and needs to be fired. My husband was picking up some lumber and the guy, who had never ran a fork lift before, dropped the lumber. Instead of helping him, the manager went inside where the AC was. The two guys and my husband loaded the wood on the trailer. A whole group of men stood there and watched. Called in while at my house. I was on hold with the message saying all associates are busy, for 20 min. Had time to drive to the store while on the phone and got there before the store answered. Once there asked to speak to a a manager, you could tell they were asking what the manager was needed for and basically it was an inconvenience to the store. I will not shop at Home Depot again. We were in this location looking for a particular product--a young man asked if he could help us find something. We told him what it was, but he was unfamiliar with it. He called on his radio and 2 additional employees showed up to help. Not only did we find our product, but we were given some "helpful hints" as to its use. Fred & David in paint were great! I had an old paint can that I took into Lowes. They said it was too old and they couldn't match it. Then I brought it into Home Depot and it took them about 5 minutes to completely match it. Great service really appreciated! read more

Home Depot's prices are good, and they are very military friendly (discount, veteran's parking spot, veteran hiring practices, etc.). Selection has been iffy at times. I have had some success with their plants, soil, mulch, etc. Customer service has always been good. One major warning though: DO NOT buy Christmas trees or wreaths from this store. We stopped by recently to take a look at their trees, and almost every single tree was dead with no evidence that the trees had been watered recently. Garden World trees were way better (though pricier), but we ended up with a Lowe's tree for similar price to Home Depot that wasn't already dead. read more

NEVER buy an appliance here. I bought an expensive refrigerator here. The company they use to deliver, GE Service would not deliver, lied to me on multiple occasions yelled at me, and finally told me the reason they had not delivered was because Home Depot messed up and I need to call them to fix it, I called the store and talked to a very nice man in customer service. he said the computer showed the appliance had been delivered to me even though it had not been. He said he would have Manager on Duty James call me back. I called back 2 more times and each time James refused to take my call and never called me back. The next day I called and got a pleasant Assistant Manager named Sherry and talked to her several times. The last time she told me to call the delivery contractor again and that she thought she had it worked out. I called the delivery company again and talked to Martha. She would not confirm delivery for 8 more days. I ask her about Home Depots promises about taking care of customers; she said they were not Home Depot and taking care of Home Depot customers was not there job. BTW if you look on the Internet you will find that this is the way Home Depot's delivery contractor often acts and thus it is obvious that Home Depot has to know that by using this contractor they are jerking their customers around. Anyway, I left several messages for Store GM Trent to call me; he has not had the common courtesy to return my call. As a result I went to Lowe's and bought the same product for the same price; it was delivered 2 days later. I called Home Depot and told them to give me a refund. That did not happen either; fortunately I charged it on my American Express, I talked to them and they will take care of it. read more
