As soon as we walked in the door we were greeted by our salesman Rocky. He was courteous and helpful, but not pushy. All questions were were answered and he seemed to be knowledgeable. At one point we were helped by his manager Daniel, who pointed out some things on the furniture that ultimately helped us with our final decision on which set of furniture to buy. The team that delivered the furniture was polite and did a great job setting up the furniture. They did not leave a mess and were quick about their work. I have been shopping at Home one since they opened the Abilene TX location. I've bought furniture for most of the rooms in my house here and I've watched as they've grown and built up the location. The quality/cost is spot on. Everything last, and honestly, actually lasts better than I would have expected. Service is always spot on too. We bought a reclining sofa and loveseat. Great price compared to other stores in the area. Now we know why. Loveseat motor quit working only hours after it was delivered. Wife found popcorn in the crevices of the loveseat. We suspect it was a repaired/ refurbished unit sold as new. This was further reinforced by the fact that the armrest on both pieces we bought were loose. These were supposed to be new pieces of furniture. Going to call the service number tomorrow. This is a racket. I have never bought poorer quality of furniture. If it were just one piece that would be different but everything I bought sofa, love seat, leather chair and Ottoman. The dye has rubbed off leather, cushions lumpy and fabric is not durable. I would highly recommend if you want to enhance the beauty of your home, stay away from the Home Zone. Poor customer service. We had a fantastic experience shopping at the Abilene Home Zone store. Our salesman was Nick Garcia. We originally visited several months ago while we were waiting on a closing date on a home we were in the process of buying. At the time, Nick was courteous and very knowledgeable of Home Zone's products. We didn't end up buying that say but made mental notes to return and to give Nick our business. That particular home purchase fell through and when we finally purchased another home many months later, we returned and made sure Nick was our salesman. We ended making several purchases and credit Nick for his professionalism and patience as we shopped and asked lots of questions. His store manager was also supportive and very helpful. Disclaimer: Based on shopping experience and not purchase. Very disappointed we couldn't find a way to get our chosen set back to Chicago. This place was wonderful. Yes, it's a discount furniture store so its quality may not be quite as good as a normal, expensive place. That said, for what it claims to be, its as good as it gets, and certainly better than the rip-off that is Ashley furniture. We dealt almost exclusively with the manager here, Danny. He was beyond wonderful and super helpful. He took us through, set by set, and informed us about the quality of each as compared to its price. He was very honest and up front about everything- this set is cheaper, about the same quality as this slightly more expensive one, but not as nice as this one, etc. He even admit to us that you get what you pay for; no false promises here! The store has a model that is ripped open for you to see the construction- you don't find many places that are this open and up front with their product. The thing that impressed me most about our experience here is that after about our third visit to the store in as many days, Danny was still very patient and helpful. We learned that we would be unable to hitch a trailer to our small sedan and bring back the set we had chosen, but Danny was attentive and helpful as ever, trying to give us advice on what to look for back in Chicago. They educate you instead of trying to schmooze you. I appreciated this a lot after having been to many skeezy discount furniture stores. I learned that it is still possible to find furniture that is decently priced, but has solid backs and sides (instead of fabric just upholstered to a crappy frame). People I got so disappointed with home zone. We purchased a bed and a mattress like a month ago. We got told we were going to delivered in two weeks. I took a month and a half for them to deliver a "half" bed to us with missing part. By the way we paid the bill before even receiving the bed!!! We were offered a adjustable mattress that the employee did not explain exactly how it worked. He just wanted to do a good sell . I received the mattress with an adjustable metal base that I did not really know was part of my bed. I am really pissed off and will no longer give my service to that place!! Nobody called to say we are sorry your bed and mattress are going to be deliver late, nothing! All my furnitures in my house were purchased at that store. No more!! You lost one of your good customer!!! read more

Man, my wife and I cannot say enough about Home Zone Furniture. We visited the Abilene store and were absolutely amazed at the outstanding customer service we received. A salesman named James Williams greeted us at the door, answered any questions we had and made us feel at home. A short time later we were greeted by Assistant Manager Daniel Perez, who checked on us while we were looking at a bedroom set. Daniel was an absolute class act and super helpful during the purchase process. He knew every single detail about the furniture and he made buying easy. Daniel also took us to the mattress collection and explained the benefits of each model. We had a terrible experience at another furniture store in Abilene, and after shopping at Home Zone, I can assure you that they have our business for life. Went to store and was greeted by Adam who assisted us as we sat on SEVERAL sofas, some more than once we never felt rushed, and he answered all our questions. Several years ago,I purchased a sectional sofa, ottoman, and queen mattress. They have held up very well and I still consider them a good value. I recently purchased the Oregon chest of drawers (at half price!) and love it!! Keith helped with me with the purchase and was very knowledgeable and efficient. Not usually one to gripe about service publicly but, I spent all day Friday waiting for Home Zone the furniture store to call and let me know that my furniture was at the store, ready for pick up. I was ready with a truck and a friend to help me all day, but they called me back at 4:30 to say they forgot to have it delivered to the store. Switch gears, how about you cut the delivery charge and have it delivered to my home on Saturday? Mgr: No we would not be able to have it to you on Saturday. Me: My living Room is bare I can't wait until after the holiday when I'm expecting guest over the holiday weekend. Mgr: Let me check with the regional manager and see what we can do for you. Two hours later Mgr: Sorry we will have your furniture in the store on Saturday. Me: So now I have to get another truck and another person to be on call with me for Saturday waiting for the call to pick up my furniture.....finally Picked it up. Did they offer to pay for half my truck rentals? No Did they take anything off of my bill? No Will I use them again Probably not. Because I have no need for them anymore my entire house has been furnished from this store and they could not even Compensate me for this huge inconvenience over a holiday weekend. On a good note the customer service in store is good. It's the upper management that has the power to retain customers but won't even take a moment to place a phone call Or knock a few dollars off for the frustration and time I lost for their error. Lots of employees but beyond the initial greeting at the door they aren't very helpful. We inquired about the floor model on one living room set since that was the only one in stock...no way. Asked about a certain type of chair....was told those are obsolete by the employee...found it at a competitor about 2 miles away, bought it today. My sample size on the number of employees is small but the employee I dealt with turned me off on this place. I dont know about you, but in all my dealings with other furniture stores thats never possilble. I had a very pleasant sales person in Kendrick. He checked availibilty and was very helpful in showing me a special feature on night stands I had also purchased for delivery at another time. I had a wonderful experience at Home Zone.
