Buyer Beware!!!! The Lowes store located at 200 Caldwell Farm Rd, Belmont NC cancelled my flooring order over 9 months ago without notifying me that the order was cancelled ant they never returned the payment of FIVE THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED SEVENTY EIGHT DOLLARS ($5678.00). For context: I placed a flooring installation order in the amount of $5678.00 for a rental property. Due to a tenant holdover situation, we were unable to access the rental property to allow for the flooring installation. We immediately went into this Lowes store and spoke with the flooring manager (Chris) to let her know that we were unable to access the property until further notice as an order from the court. The flooring manager (Chris) assured us that she would hold the order until the tenant holdover situation was resolved. We were very grateful that Lowes was willing to hold the order until the situation was resolved. In the meantime, we continued making the month payment per the contract. Once the situation was resolved we called to schedule the installation. That is when we were told that the order had been cancelled 9 months earlier. Keep in mind that Lowes never notified us of the cancellation and they never refunded my payment total of $5678. Again,we went into the store to discuss this matter. We spoke with the assistant store manager Michael Franco who told us that Lowes made an attempt via telephone and email to contact us about the cancellation. When we inquired as to why the money was not refunded for 9 months, he had no answer for that question. Keep in mind that Lowe's cancellation policy states that refunds must be delivered to the customer within 10 days of cancellation, but they held my refund for 9 months. This stores action appears to be deceptive and fraudulent to say the least. Especially after reading some of the other reviews about talks about the store refusing to process their refunds. In my situation it makes me wonder if the refund was processed and someone at the store kept the money after it was not claimed for a few months. The assistant manager (Michael Franco) tried to defend the situation by says that I may have received the one email and voicemail but chose not to come pick the refund up. That makes no sense at all that the store informed me that they cancelled my order, but I chose to leave a refund of $5678.00 at the store for 9 months. I never got a notice via email or a voicemail. When I asked the store for proof that someone tried reaching me via email or voicemail, Michael Franco stated "I am not going to release that information". The real reason that he refuses to release the proof is because the outreached via email and voicemail never happened. Also, when is it acceptable for a company to make only one attempt to reach a customer and then keep their money for 9 months. When I informed the store manager that I would be expecting my refund within the next few days. He stated that it would take a couple of weeks for the refund to be processed and it would have to be processed as a store credit. The product is paid in full so how does a retail have the right to force a customer to receive a refund via store credit. After, I explained to him that I would not be purchasing the replacement flooring with Lowes, he then said the money had to be sent back to Synchrony Bank. AGAIN the product is paid in full so I do not owe Synchrony any money for this order. This was just another deceptive practice that the store is trying to use to delay my refund. At one point, he said the refund was sent back to Synchrony when the order was cancelled. I reached out to Synchrony, and they confirmed that Lowes never refunded the order. Synchrony is currently doing an internal investigation into the matter to see why Lowes stated that the funds ($5678.00) was refunded to my account. When I inquired about compensation for my damages for Lowes lack of communication in returning my $5678.00 for over 9 months, Michael Franco stated they would not be offering any compensation for damages. I let him know that if I was not compensated for my damages, that I would contact the Better Business Bureau and Consumer Protection, he replied "That's fine, all I have to do is send a response back to them and they will close the case. One has to wonder "WHO MADE HIM A MANAGER". His customer service skills don't align with the core values that Mr. Marvin Ellison has in place for Lowes. I provided him with a breakdown of the tangible damages resulting from Lowes keeping my money for 9 months and what I suffered as a result of them not trying o contact me. Here is the breakdown: 1. The price of the original flooring has increased by over $300 2. Installation costs has risen since the initial order. 3. The property is now occupied by a new tenant, so we will incur additional charges for furniture removal prior to the installation. 4 Due to the delay, I also missed a recent 10% promotional offer on flooring project. read more

I would do less than one star if I could. What a disappointment. Having been brought up in an adjoining county to Lowe's original home of North Wilkesboro, I've always favored Lowe's. I taken FOUR trips to this Lowe's (so far) for what I assumed was a simple hardware/plumbing part. On one trip, plumbing sent me to hardware. Then hardware says,"Why did they send you over here?". On another trip for the same part, i immediately pushed the "help" button. I turned a Lowe's bucket upside down for a seat. I waited over TWENTY minutes (while periodically hitting the help button) for help that never came. Some Lowe's employees just looked at me and passed me by. I've been bounced back and forth between plumbing and hardware without receiving any real help. If it's not their departmental responsibility, it's not their job...... or they have no clue what they are doing or how to provide a solution with their prepackaged parts. We had such a pleasant experience today at Lowe's! We walked in to do a return and to exchange some air filters and the customer service we received was so great!! We were taken to the aisle with the filters and the guy working specifically helped us find what we needed and it was so helpful!! Side note, they also offer great value packs of air filters which was a great value/bang for your buck. Also we went to the garden department and one of the employees was able to help us in figuring out which soil would be best for our citrus trees! All in all a great experience and highly recommend this location! read more

Dont rent from lowes in Belmont, they rent out dangerous equipment and still want you to pay full price even if someone could've ended up in the hospital. I pick up this concrete mixer and little while in we keep getting shocked through our boots and shovels or when dumping the mixer over. We end up noticing it was sparking and smoking. Equipment must not be grounded or something. We tried switching extension cords but it still did it. We had to keep unplugging it to work once mixed just to get through the day. I go to drop it off and tell them the problem I had and they acted like I should've sat on hold/ AI for 20 mins to get them on the phone even though they don't have someone that could've came out to fix it. I've rented quite a lot through Lowe's rental. And I'm disappointed in Belmont Lowe's. They couldn't get a manager over there and won't even give me a refund. Save yourself some headache and rent from Home Depot or a bigger rental company like united rentals. I had a problem with a stump grinder I rented last year from Gastonia Lowe's and they refunded me and even tried getting me more equipment. But not Belmont Lowe's. They just acted like it was no big deal we got shocked and didn't even give me a refund till a manager and mechanic is in store like this has anything to do with me. Opened a Pro account with Catherine and got a good deal on my roof supplies and was promised a $60 refund on the delivery charge after it was delivered. over a month ago. Talked to her several times and was assured it was refunded. Of course, it wasn't. Just a plain lie to my face. Emailed the corporate hot shot that handles the Pro division and shouldn't have wasted my time. DON'T waste yours. Maybe Home Depot will be better. It was hard to give 1 star to this liar. You go through the trouble of finding what you need for a project, price compare, sort through the pile of plywood at over $50 a sheet, find a cart, load it and roll it to the back to get it cut.................... This is the McDonalds Milkshake experience all over!!!!!! I need a 3/4 piece of Plywood. I don't want to buy a half sheet and pay almost as much as a full sheet but their saw is down more than it is up. WTF!!!!! I'll just go to Home Depot 10 miles away. I have had the worst experience dealing with Lowes in Belmont NC. DONT EVER BUY CABINETS FROM LOWES. My kitchen was measure by an outside company from Lowes but when I order my cabinets they were the wrong color, my measurement way off, my stove was not centered with my microwave, my sink is not centered with my kitchen windows. Cabinets went pass my wall that was taken down. The Diamond Cabinets Co. just through your products together, color was off ect. This was the worst experience and I would not recommend ANYBODY to purchase or let Lowes complete ANY Home improvement Projects. I spend over 10K and this is what I got. I decided to venture out to Lowe's to look for a new refrigerator yesterday and the level of assistance I received was outstanding. I was not able to get what I wanted due to limited supply but the effort from the sales person was stellar. So why a one rating you may ask? As I'm standing near the counter while the salesperson checks on my item, I observed a middle aged woman with dark hair tied in a ponytail and a blue shirt REMOVE HER MASK and openly sneeze without covering anything. She was not a customer, she was an employee in the appliance section. She appeared to be some sort of lead as she was instructing a younger gentleman to answer the phone. Not only was I disgusted beyond measure I was baffled by her level of disregard for others around her. We are in the middle of a pandemic and she felt this was acceptable. UNBELIEVABLE!!!! Horribly flawed App and Inconceivably Rude Staff. Went in to purchase a water filter for our refrigerator that went out after only 9 months. The app said multiple were in stock, but after searching, none were found. I asked a guy working in the Plumbing section and he said "Naw, we never carry that in stock." After showing him my app with them listed he said "Well, the App isn't my responsibility." When I pointed out that I understood that but this was something he needed to escalate to management, the rude, incompetent cut me off and said "Have a nice day Sir" and walked away. I went to Customer Service, asked to see a manager, and after waiting 5-10 min, no one bothered to show up. My family has spent upwards of $10K at Lowe's in the past year alone and will never set foot in a Lowe's again because of the arrogant mix of incompetence and rudeness experienced today. This is a really nice new location that has one of the strangest entrances from the Belmont Abby side on the planet! Who doesn't like a little Indy Car race track curves and dips on the way to a hardware store?!? I guess they did this to find out who knows how to tie down their lumber before they get to a main road? Sheesh it's ridiculous, but if you're in your car it's pretty fun to zoom around. Anyway back to the store... Tons of selection and the garden center in the spring is gorgeous. The staff answered all my questions and I was able to find what I needed. Please people if you own a truck don't buy bag mulch or dirt!! Sure if you only need a bag then go ahead, but if you need a giant load there is a better option. Go to a local nursery or garden center and buy a scoop or two of it and they will load it in your truck!!! You'll save tons of cash by not buying it pre-packaged in beautiful marketing branded bags. Yes your truck will get a little dirty, but isn't that why you bought a truck!?! I can't stand seeing guys loading 20 bags of mulch in a perfectly useful truck bed. I was actually surprised to see all the one-star reviews on this place. My husband and I have been to this location a LOT over the past few weeks while doing renovations. A few times, we saw an employee make snide remarks to other employees, act condescending to them, and openly (rudely) berate them about how they were doing things... in front of customers! That is extremely unprofessional! So, the last time we were there, I asked another employee about him and asked why he's so nasty to everyone. His name is Mike, he's apparently in management, and everyone dreads working around him because of his horrible attitude. Why keep someone like that in such a position? If you treat your employees well, they will be happier, which leads to happier customers. First time coming to this location after moving cross country due to military orders and I was amazed by Dawn's customer service. I was interested in a craftsman tool box for my husband. Colin scanned the item on display and said that they had some in the back. He then came saying that he couldn't find any. I asked if I could get any discount for buying the display one. Great Lowe's location. Frequent this one and always find the shelves to be well stocked and organized. Usually always an employee nearby in the red smocks if you need assistance. We have purchased things from everyday items to full size appliances and not had an issue to date. Logistically the parking lot is pretty easy to get in and out. Sometimes the Wal Mart next door is a bit busy and can take an extra minute or two, but nothing crazy. The aisles are pretty well laid out too. Also self check out here - 4 of them! And usually always open with a traditional check out aisle or two open. Hit this location up folks!! read more

This has to be the absolute worst Lowe's I've been to from the west to the east coast. I've tried a few times to give it a chance hoping I caught them on an off day but nope, terrible. I waited for an associate to assist me for about 20 minutes. He was helping someone else so I was patient. Finally he came over and asked what he could do to help, I told him I would wait till he was done helping them. He said on its ok, that's just my brother. He then rushed me and got back to chatting with his brother. My girlfriend just went there to buy 4 doorknobs and 4 deadbolts. She didn't go super late, 6:30pm. Come to find out no one in the store is available to key the locks the same. She was told to come back when they have someone working that can do it. No surprise as to why we choose to order from online as opposed to going into a store. At least you know what to expect when ordering from online. read more

We i arrived the expert named Stevie was on a break. So i decided to walk around Lowe's with my dog. They were so helpful and patient with us as we had many questions and special needs for the 122 year old house we are working on. I live in Mint Hill but would drive to the Belmont store simply because they have a clean, organized store and the best customer service I have experienced in years!!! Stopped by the Belmont location, needed a 100lb propane tank. I already knew from other stores the basic location of the tanks. The isle that I thought I needed was blocked by a lift so I asked two employees if the tanks were on the isle, they said go to customer service to get them. I knew that wasn't the answer but went with it anyway. Customer service hand no clue, one of them even said they didn't carry the 100lb propane cylinders. They called another department and then sent me to the isle that had air compressors on it. I was so pissed I just left. Online shows the isle and number on hand. Going to Lincolnton or Denver, I know exactly where they are located there and the employees actually know what they are doing. read more

Being a first time home-buyer, we spent plenty of time the past few months in the Belmont Lowe's. Our experience was pretty amazing. Everyone that we encountered at Lowe's was extremely helpful and seemed genuinely interested in ensuring that we found what we were looking for and got exactly what we wanted. We thought we may have just got lucky the first time in, but time and again we have been impressed. We purchased our counter tops and kitchen tile back splash from this Lowe's and the crews they sent out did a pretty solid job (although one dude left all his latex gloves in the backyard). When we thought there was a problem with the tile work, they sent someone out right away. Turned out the house is still settling and after touching it up, left us the tube to touch up as needed. Separate visit: we went for Christmas decorations and there was a man in the area of the lights helping everyone out and suggesting different things. Again, super friendly. read more

This Lowe's is great! I've been here many times and the employees are always extremely friendly and so helpful! I've never had to hunt someone down for help, they always find me right when I need them. Besides the great service Lowe's has an unlimited inventory of home improvement goodies. Neither myself or my husband are particularly handy around the house but after taking a lap through this place we always want to try something new. We've also been very lucky with the clearance aisles. We found a huge framed mirror that was marked way down and a good quality large area rug for our living room for cheap. The only thing I don't love about this store is the number of hours I want to spend here once I walk in the door. read more

I like coming to this Lowe's to get my flowers. I only shop the clearance rack for flowers and plants. My mom and aunt taught me that with some water and a little love, you can bring flowers and plants back to life. And it's been working for them for years and so far for me. I much prefer Lowe's to Home Depot Big Box any day of the week. While it's true that I much prefer to give my business to small town hardware stores, lets face the facts.. This place is cheaper, I'm guaranteed they'll have what I'm looking for, and I'm certain I'll find an expert in the department I'm looking in that actually worked in the industry - not a general handyman who'd probably also teach me how to siphon gas from a car using an old hose.. no.. Not at Lowe's. It's too bad that the company's portfolio and debt to capital ratio is so much poorer than HD.. I'd love to see them expand. Went to buy a few thing. First of all, 21 mm socket are very popular and I asked if there are more in the back, the worker just stared at me and said if it ain't there, its gone. Ok, no biggie. I went to get a large storage bin, there was no lid for that particular size. I went and asked a worker, she said she will get someone to help. I waited and waited. I had to connect to the store wi-fi to call the store for help. It took me thru 18 options before I have the option to talk to customer service. Dailing 0 will not take to customer service until you listened to all the options. Then internet drops so my call ended. I tried again but got same because I could not find someone to help get the correct lid. If the bin is there, why not the lid?? Make no sense. Frustrated and left without either. read more

My installations was set up (you have no control over the time of day) from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm. I was told I couldn't buy just one tile as a sample in Belmont and the guy literally said, "I mean...I don't know you so I can't give it to you either." Last week my boyfriend and I visited the Belmont Location. We needed to purchase wood for a deck. Several employees walked past, never offering to help us. At other locations, you can barely walk and aisle without being asked if you need assistance. We returned a few days later to customer service to apply for his 10% veterans discount. After having two other customer service employees advise him to wait for "the one that could help him" and waiting over 15 mins in line, he was finally helped. However, the employee promptly advised him that "he really should complete this at home, she "could" do it for him, but it would take "a while". So, basically, she just didn't "want" to do it. I've been in management for over 20+ years and I was shocked. If you don't want to work in customer service, then find another job. I understand that Lowes takes pride in our service members. They may want to look at how they are treated locally in their stores. read more

I don't usually go out of my way to talk poorly about a business but I feel people should know what they're getting in for. As far as going in to the store and grabbing essentials this store is convenient but....for using their contractors or services this store is garbage. The "new" system has been being blamed for 7 months now but...when will it cease to be new and start being reliable? I'd ordered some shutters to be installed...the person came to measure and I thought we were on track as I was informed they would be in touch shortly (exact time eludes me but I believe it was a 48 hour window)...over 2 weeks passed and I went in. I was informed that they had NO record of anyone coming to my home and would I like for someone else to come? Well I wasn't exactly assured as to their competence so I declined...This was later resolved some months later by a helpful store employee...and the shutters came out nicely but...this was nearly 4 months later. I recently had ordered a door and had the contractor come to my home, yet again, to measure the door opening. Well he was completely rude and unprofessional. Once again days passed and I heard nothing so knowing the drill from aforementioned I called. Luckily I was put in touch with Matt who is an awesome store manager...it's a shame the same can't be said for everyone. He sent another contractor to come measure and I really was comfortable with him-measurements were sent in and everything was a go. The wife and I went in to pick out what we wanted and I was called 3 days later due to holiday weekend to come pay...I left work early and rushed down only to be told I couldn't pay as no labor quote was given...and just got a "sorry". Since that time I have called numerous times and have spent no less than 30 minutes on hold when no one in "millworks" picks up. I'm so sick of the lack of professionalism and attitudes that I'm about to just get my fee back for measurements and go elsewhere.
