This store never has what they have listed in store online. On two occasions this has happened. Both times I find the items cheaper at Home Depot. Ordered a refrigerator, set up the delivery, took a day off and they never showed up. The delivery window was Tuesday 9:30-1:30 and I got a voicemail at 12:30 that the refrigerator wasn't on the delivery truck. They would deliver it Wednesday! I had to call the store and change the date because I work! I took Thursday off. They delivered the refrigerator and were on time but the delivery guy told me he couldn't change the side that the door opened on because then it wouldn't work right and said 95% of the refrigerators that they change the doors on are returned. (BS)Then I found a chip on the paint on the refrigerator door! I've been calling the store and have been dealing with the AI operator and have been on hold for a total of 2 1/2 hours just today! Now I'm going to have to DRIVE 20 miles to the store to get customer service. DO NOT BUY APPLIANCES AT LOWES!!! I'm going to return this and although I'm boycotting Home Depot, I'll buy one there. I placed an online order for wire fencing. It was to be delivered later the same day. I entered both my mailing and physical address since they are different. Received a text message the order was delivered. Don't know where, but not at my house. I immediately tried calling Lowes in Camden. I thought if they could contact the driver and have them retrieve the order from the wrong address, they could get it to me. I don't get why delivery drivers just drop things off not certain of the address without contacting the customer. Well, that was my thought, but it took almost an hour using two different phones to get someone to answer the phone. I was then told it actually came out of the Dover location and they would call there and tell the manager about it. I decided to call them only to be called they had to investigate it and would get back to me. Ugh! In the meantime, I have a puppy who is capable of escaping. I'm going to Home Depot! Bought a new dryer a few months back and it was installed by a Lowe's-selected contractor. The distance from the rear of the dryer to the outlet for the exhaust was about 9". They installed a 12' metal hose but managed to crush the opening leading outside so that (unknown to us) a huge amount of lint was accumulating. We could have had a fire. I fixed it myself. The star is for the delivery driver, not Lowe's management. I recently cancelled pickup for a mower as it was already delivered a day before. Doing this, my order completely cancelled out. I immediately called Lowes to remedy this situation with little to no help. The associate on the phone was agitated that I had a mower that had not been paid for. He continued to repeat how we needed to arrange a time for a pick up right away w/out caring to hear what i had to say. Hello, why do you think I'm calling? The mower was delivered without payment? A week ago I financed and made a payment the day I ordered. Long story short, I paid for for the same exact mower within 5 minutes of hanging up with the associate. I wanted the mower I just got, not to wait all over again for another one of the same! They wouldn't allow me to resubmit payment. I just bought 30 bags of mulch at the Lowes in Camden, DE. I asked the person and the register if I could get some help loading. He told me yes, and went to get someone. He also told me to pull my truck around to the side. No one showed up to help, I ended up loading the bags with only my wife to help. We are both in our late 60s and I have a bad back. This is the third time I have asked for help with no help coming. There was also no one there to verify that I only took the 30 bags I paid for. (Good thing my wife and are honest people and did not take anything we did not pay for). I see workers inside the store visiting with one another, but not much customer service happening. Customer service has become a burden to this store. I think it's time to go back to the smaller garden centers and local hardware stores. If you go to the Camden, DE Lowes be prepared to figure it out on your own, load your vehicle on your own, checkout with no help, and do NOT expect the discounts you think you are eligible for (military, Lowes credit card). Parked outside garden center to facilitate my holiday purchases. All the greenery was half dead and not discounted. Still selected over $100 worth of merchandise. Wheeled my full cart to the checkout. The outdoor cash register was not working. Went inside. Self check out only available unless I wanted to walk to the other end of the store, which would mean I would have to push the cart all the way back to the other end of the store to my car. We purchased a Craftsman self propelled lawn mower with a 3 year a service contract one year ago from Lowe's, Dover, DE. One week ago the pull cord stopped working after it's second use. I phoned Lowes Service that day and was transferred to Black and Decker(?!) for repairs but they were closed for the Memorial Day holiday. I phoned Lowe's Service on Tuesday, there was no answer and I kept getting an error message on Lowe's Service website. I called the Dover, DE Lowe's for help and an assistant manager said she would call me back but never did. On Wednesday, Lowe's Service finally answered my call and since the mower was under manufacture's warranty I had to call Craftsman. After listening to many recordings and option choices, I then had to find a local Craftsman repair place. More recordings, more pressing buttons for options. Finding a local Craftsman repair shop, I learned I have to deliver it to the repair shop, it might take two weeks to process the claim and then travel miles to pick it up after repair. I am handicapped and 76 years old. How do I lift and transport the mower back and forth, loading and unloading and then mow grass that is growing taller all this time! I will have to hire someone to cut my grass in the meantime. What was the point in a Lowes Service agreement? read more

The customer service at this store sucks...the majority of the staff is less than personable or professional. I experienced one of my worst shopping experiences with Lowe's recently after spending over $2,800.00 in one purchase. I have left more than 6 messages for the store manager, Jayson Baeschlin, who has yet to return any of my calls. I have reached out to corporate with no success. I will continue to voice my concerns as they have forgotten that the local community supports this store and in return, the local community demands that the take a look at the poor customer service, especially during the pandemic. If you can not be kind and professional to the customers, find another job. I don't think they would like themselves, if they were the customer and they were the associate. The one star is given because at least my delivery showed up. My washing machine is delivered but no hoop up kit, which had to be purchased separately. Even though we told the associate that we already had the hookup. The delivery guy was very rude with No customer service in mind. It was like he did not care about us at all. So, we declined the delivery because they would not hook it up without the hook up kit. We tried to call Lowes customer service several times but the phone just rang and rang. Going into the store and dealing with the people there has always been delightful. HOWEVER, I have bought appliances from there for years and they are the worst about scheduling their deliveries. My suggestion is to take the week after the day you are scheduled because you will be waiting around your house twiddling your thumbs until they call and reschedule the delivery. Multiple times! The customer service at the Camden Delaware store is beyond horrible. At 8 am this morning I purchased a utility cabinet from the North Dover store and when I got it and unpacked it I found damage from forklift. Went back to Dover store and was greeted by Niles who immediately stepped up and got a supervisor, Jackie, who jumped right in with options. I want that cabinet and one option was to return it and sell me a new one and then I could get the bad part and leave the rest as the return, perfect, they do this all the time. They did not have another so Jackie, being the excellent customer service rep she is offered to order one and do it when it came in. Another opinion was to go to the Camden store because they had six in stock. Jackie called them to let them know I was coming. I walked through the door and walked to the counter and this is my greeting " oh, you're that guy I'm on the phone about, my mangers says we can't do that" no problem, let me speak to the manager. She was with another customer, stall tactic, but after 10 minutes or so she wander out and said " I can't do that because you bought it at the Dover store". I replied " you can but you won't do it, we all know you can" I have spent about $6000 in that store in the last 4 months rebuilding my shop from a fire. I have about $45,000 more to spent BUT, I will not be getting it from that location. I also am a manager across the street and I will not approve any of our needs to be met by this location as well plus I'll pass my story on to my 72 associates. This store sucks at customer service. Went into the store and worked with a sales rep and ordered all new kitchen appliances. I basically let them pick my delivery date since it had to be ordered. We picked a date a month out. The day before delivery they tell me it's not in. A little more notice would've been nice but fine. So I call a couple days later to reschedule my delivery and they tell me to call back tomorrow to talk to some guy named Lee. When I wake up that morning I have a message from there super shitty delivery service (XPO) that my order is on its way and they'll be to my home in an hour. WTF!? I didn't schedule that. So I call Lowe's AGAIN...to schedule for a Saturday (this was on Thursday) and had to wait and speak to multiple people just to get that settled. But they tell me it's taken care of. Then Lowe's delivery service, XPO calls to tell me my order is on its way. I explain it's been scheduled for Saturday and that I never scheduled for Thursday. They say ok and then they have the manager call me. I confirmed with him a delivery on Saturday and we were straight, or so I thought. Saturday comes and there's no delivery. I spoke with Todd at Lowe's and he says someone dropped the ball and forgot to put something in. He then tells me the appliances will come tomorrow on Sunday. And here it is Sunday everyone! And guess what!? NO APPLIANCES!!!! Apparently now they're telling me the sales department messed up when they sold me the appliances. So Ive just canceled my order. Lowe's does not have their shit together. They out source their delivery service so there are constant miscommunications and no way for Lowe's to deliver any type of customer service. And it takes forever to speak with the right people on both ends. Why do I need to be a liaison between you and your delivery company Lowe's!? Lowe's offered me nothing for all the trouble (I had two guys here to help me move my old appliances upstairs, and had to send them home 3 times. ) Todd didn't even try and talk me out of canceling. Hopefully I'll be able to find a reputable company that has better communication and cares about there customers. I don't even care if I have to pay more. Terrible, Terrible, Terrible experience. First the appliance I purchased with delievered without the cord (which I paid seperately for and was told would be sent out with the dryer). Had to wait more days for guy to come back with the cord. Guy could not get dryer to work, said there was something wrong with our electricity. PAID my electrican to come out, only to learn that the guy Lowes send out did not ground the wire and did not connect it properly. I called the store manager who acted rude and said it wasn't Lowes fault because they subcontract with a company out of Philly (FIRST OF LEARNING THIS!). Gave me a name and number of a "melissa" with the company. I repeatedly called this woman and left messages. Her phone only ever rang once and went straight to voice mail. I called back to the store, they said the manager was not there asked to be redirected to District manager (THEY REFUSED). I asked the district manger's name (THEY REFUSED TO GIVE ME THAT). I contracted with Lowe's to install a deck at my home what an incompetent nightmare they have been. The installation contractor did a fabulous job, however we are now on the third month trying to get Lowe's to order the proper parts to complete the job. Lowe's is incompetent, they assign me a project manager that never returned one call, I never saw the person nor did they ever come out to the jobsite. I have a project not complete with major safety issues, due to the steep decline of the steps which have no handrails. They have not offered any compensation for there incompetence for not being able to use my $20k deck. We are now over three months into the job and still waiting for them to order the correct material. Never use Lowe's for building. read more

I have seen a lot of 1 star reviews for this location but I have to put it all into perspective. People usually leave reviews when they are upset or have a great experience. I have been shopping at this location for many years and I've never had a bad experience. With that said I have actually had more positive experiences than negative. This is one of the busiest Lowes in the state so understandably there will be issues for some. I'm actually leaving an honest feedback. For the many times I've visited rather than one grape or one not so great. Take it for what it's worth but this Lowe's does a great job. I want to commend the fine employees that work in the appliance section at the Lowe's in Camden, DE. They were all very helpful. Particularly, a wonderful gentleman by the name of Scott who came to the assistance of my daughter who had recently moved to the area. Her military husband was away and she was concerned about how the movers had hooked up her washer and dryer that had been purchased from Lowe's in another state. She needed to buy a venting hose and was worried about how to install it properly. On his own time he came to her house and checked them free of charge and put the vent on for her. He was a lifesaver. Our family is very thankful for his kindness and helpfulness. Thank you to this amazing individual in appliances and for Lowe's for hiring such remarkable people. read more

We buy our black oil sunflower seed here for the birds. Bird seed keeps getting more expensive as the bags keep getting smaller (go figure). We also shop here now for major appliances. They install and offer service agreements that are a fairly good deal. Used to go to Sears, but now prefer Lowes. We'll shop at Spence's and/or Rose Valley Greenhouse for plants in the spring, but if those places don't have what we're looking for, Lowe's usually does. read more

I buy 20-30 bags of mulch at a time AND I'm a female and everytime I give up waiting for them to HELP load the mulch into my truck and do it myself. Don't get me wrong I will work my ass off but they literally hire people to do this and everytime I find myself HAVING to do it myself. They don't check receipts so I'm sure people who aren't as honest as me take extra supplies but that's THEIR problem since they seem to hire the laziest loaders humanly possible. My Husband and I were shopping around local businesses looking for flooring options for our hall and living room. We wanted to get rid of the carpet that was down (Contractors choice - home 5 years old) and were unsure if we wanted replacement carpet or some other type of flooring. The options too many to list. We stopped at Lowes and the Pergo flooring was an immediate "I like that". We then spotted a design of the flooring and made our choice. I cannot think of or mention anything negative about the flooring department. The salesman mentioned a measurer needed to come to my home for a price of $35.00 but that cost would come off the total price within 1 year of purchase. Lowes was then notified by the measurer of how much material was needed. My husband and I returned to the store to finalize the pattern and underlayment. We mentioned that there was carpet currently on the floor and for an additional price the installers could rip it out. We decided to rip it out ourselves. We were notified the flooring would take approximately 3 weeks to come in. (That was fine - no rush was needed). The salesman then added if we wanted the flooring delivered to our home there was an additional fee. We chose to rent a Lowes truck for 1 hour. the store employee helped load the truck. We were contacted within a week about installation and make an appointment for this. We were cautious about store hired installers having had a negative experience with Home Depot installers in NJ. Once again I have NO complaints! Four men came for the installation (1 a foreman) the job was completed with 6 hours. When they left they removed the old carpet we ripped up. They cleaned up afterwards, except for my new floor you could tell no one had been there. Excellent Service, Professional, Caring...really looking forward to working with them again! read more

Thought i would save myself some time...ordered online. Parked in the 15 minute pickup parking. Went to the pickup kiosk. no one came. waited, no buzzer bell or otherwise. (there went my 15 minute parking out the window) went to customer service desk. waited. pulled up order, it wasnt ready. no one was available to pick orders. She asked an employee to do the pick for her, as she couldnt leave the desk, he told her he was too busy. I asked if I could go get my item. I was told she didn't know where it was in the store. I went to the far end of the store to retrieve my item. Brought it back to service desk. Now i was asked for ID to pick up item. I was miffed. I was offered a 10% discount for my trouble, only she couldn't get the computer to authorize. this entire process was over 45 minutes, and I still didn't get discount....Still. waiting.....if I had been in the store, I think I would still be waiting..... read more

Disorganized and terrible customer service. Tried to order blinds, made an appointment in store to place order was stood up 3 times. Got my deposit back and canceled the "order" I was never able to place. Ordered and paid for 9 fence panels to be delivered. Waited and when delivery did not come in scheduled time called the number on one of the multiple confirming text messages I had been receiving because in addition to no delivery the text message showed only 1 fence panel on the truck. Called the store twice because my first on hold call was disconnected to learn there was nothing in the truck for us. Rescheduled delivery for the next day. Well see if it actually comes as promised. We wasted an entire day waiting for a delivery the store knew was not going to be delivered but never bothered to call and inform us. In the mean time I am still getting confirming text messages for the original delivery day. Really screwed up customer servI've and delivery system. Unless I can carry the item out in a bag, I won't be making any further purchases at this store. It's Home Depot from now on. read more
