We wanted to purchase cabinets from Lowes and have them install but when the contractor who works with ALL the Lowes in this area told us $3500 and then Lowes came back with labor quote for $7300 someone is padding their pockets. They would NOT adjust the price and the cabinet promotion I was quoted would not be honored as when I purchased them a week later AS THE REP WAS ON VACATION I was told they were $500 more. We ordered a new dryer from y'all a week and a half ago. I get transportation and such. Said they'd deliver today (Friday 5/23/25) between 2p and 5p. Ten minutes to 5p they call us saying there's an emergency and can't deliver. I almost lost my shit with the customer service girl but it's not her fault. I told them when they supposedly call back in an hour (like she said they would) to give me the earlier delivery time for tomorrow. You're lucky I had today and tomorrow off and didn't have to take off of work cause I would've been a very unkind human being if that were the case. Rain doesn't count as an emergency. Super unsatisfied with the way this was handled! Why not communicate this earlier? If they don't come tomorrow, I'm asking for a full refund cause this is ridiculous! read more

Whatever you do, do not order fence installation from Lowe's. All of the work is subbed out and the subcontractor actually buys material from wherever they want. I signed the contract in early May with an anticipated finish date at the beginning of August. The delay was originally mine because I was having some hardscape work done. It is nearing the end of October and my project is still not complete. The subcontractor, John Dolan from JSM Fence Lowes Installer does not actually respond to messages half the time and I have had to escalate to Lowe's installation support in numerous times. I took their no interest financing deal but now a third of the time is taken up because of installation delay delays. There is nothing but one lie after another. This review is only in regards to an estimate we received for new windows and installation of said windows. Any other time we've been to this Lowe's, it's been fine. We arranged for an estimate to buy and have installed 9 vinyl windows. The guy that came to do the measurements was late and very off-putting. We weren't applying for finance, but we got the impression that we was trying to dig for info about our income. It was so uncomfortable, my husband decided we wouldn't be having Lowe's do this work before this guy even left our house. The estimate that we received was for a total of $8,132.54. The estimate was 4 pages long (mostly about finance options), but did not list the labor costs anywhere. In fact, where it was supposed to be listed, it said $0.00. After doing some math, I calculated the labor total to be $5,373.07. That divides evenly to $597 worth of labor PER window. The most expensive window on the estimate was $311.52, making the labor cost to install it almost double the cost of the window. Shady salesperson, shady estimate. Jim From appliances saw us looking and approached us with endless knowledge of the units we were looking at, He went above and beyond and so he earned our Buisness and we bought two units that day with no pressure from Jim, he called us and informed us with any information that had changed and kept us in the loop of what was going on, if you need any appliances ask for Jim at the Cicero location, What an outstanding employee! read more

Customer Service provides No Customer service, and worse negative service. Questioned receipt for just purchased item that did not ring up on sale. Melissa hung up a phone, asked for my receipt & refused to refund item and re-ring to confirm if discounted and said she was working with a customer (who was on the phone near the entry door, who asked her to take me 1st for the 1 single item as he had a flat bed with 3 bags of returns & on phone). She refused, had me wait 25 min. then my turn said she'd only do the refund & not cash out again, asked a young man, Cory, to do refund only and flagged the customer behind me "Next" He couldn't confirm it on sale and when I asked if he was going to make me go to the self register to cash out. He said, "no, I won't do that to you." Melissa needs Customer Service Training. I asked for the return policy, her reply, "30 days with a receipt & 365 with Lowes Credit." No store credit. Came in here looking at appliances for our kitchen remodel, had a good variety to look through

We had the most awful renovation experience with this store. All we wanted for our tiny kitchen was a new backsplash and a new countertop. It took months for them to coordinate taking down our old backsplash and scheduling the countertop people. Lou, in counters dept, had us buying the same piece for the plumber THREE times. He ignored my complaints about Stone Central, the Jack*sses responsible for installing our counter, and both the backsplash and counter had to be re-measured over and over again because Lowe's (who is in the business of home decor) doesn't know how to measure. Stone Central is made up of the most nastiest and lying sack of craps I've ever encountered. Their behavior and poor customer service was just shameful. They rescheduled us several times on short notice saying that they "didn't have anyone who could do the job." Then why are you guys open if you can't even complete the bare minimum??? And this has nothing to do with COVID, even tho they will tell you that it did. Read their Google or BBB reviews and you'll see similar complaints that are pre-COVID. I took off work for our backsplash installation and they show up saying they can't do the job that day because they didn't have supplies. So your one job is in home renovation and you show up with no supplies? I was livid. Back to stone central, they actually tried to get out of giving us a refund for all their mistakes. The Lowe's manager, David or something, had to give us $100 credit to our account to make up for my missed work day and our general aggravation. But we should have gotten more off. It took them almost 7 months to complete a job they should have been able to complete in 2. Yesterday I go in to just get a key cut. We ask an elderly man to help us find someone who can take care of it. He doesn't even speck to us, just goes looking for his coworker to help. He then just silently points us in her direction. Ok fine, at least we found someone. She proceeds to keep taking her time helping some fool who doesn't even have a mask on, for TEN minutes while we're waiting for them to finish. She doesn't acknowledge us or even say "sorry one minute!" She finally finishes with COVID Carl and then asks us if we need anything. We tell her we need a key and she leads us over to the key station. There is a white family there (of course), and instead of helping us first, two people who have been patiently waiting while she finished helping COVID Carl pick out screws, she helps the white family first and CONTINUES to ignore us for a second time. Even going to far as to chit chat with them and help them look for fun key patterns. I am SO sick of the blatant racism in this area and in this store specifically. I know the clerk wasn't white herself, but there is definitely an aura of "whites first" in this area. This is beyond just bad customer service. It's blatant dismissal, it's shameful, and I'm never shopping at this store again. I grabbed my husband and my key and walked out. Lowe's is not getting any more of my money if this is how they choose to treat people. Train your staff. Enact customer service protocols. Set up discrimination and nonracial profiling workshops. You guys KNOW you should be doing better. read more

I always prefer Lowes to other "big box, home improvement centers". The staff is generally more friendly, helpful, and just easier to find. Other than that there is nothing that would make this particular Lowes stand out from any other location or competitor. There is always excptions. You may be luck and find an employee with decades of practical experience. read more

I'm a technically competent person, I don't generally need help when I enter a home improvement store. Why have I stopped frequenting the depot and only shop Lowe's? Cicero Lowe's has a very proactive stance towards the members of the armed forces. From the manager, to the employees hired, veteran outreach and yes right down to the parking spots. Wonder why people are shopping on line and having products delivered to their door ? This is one reason every time I shop at the store there's only one cashier open it's frustrating my time is valuable everyone's time is valuable but there's a lot of employees standing around in the store and only one cashier it's so frustrating two times have left the product at the store and just left thats a loss in sales for Lowe's , so sad for them that they don't get it customer service is number one .the employees in the store care less hopefully in the future will be able to cash out using our phone just like they're doing at other stores and In the meantime frustrated shopper. Absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced!!! Purchased 2 dozen pieces of shiplap for a project!! We made several attempts to paint several (six to be exact) pieces. The product was extremely difficult to paint and one several coats of paint were dry the paint could be removed by just lightly rubbing anything against it. We were obviously not happy and decided to return the product. Thinking the store and employees would be receptive to this problem with this junk product, we brought all 24 pieces, 6 painted and 18 not painted or modified in any way. The store would only allow the 18 unpainted pieces to be returned, they did not care about the problems we had painting the 6 pieces and would not return them for even partial credit. They said it was against store policy and based on the policy displayed on the wall it said nothing remotely like this. I asked to speak with a manager and the manager, Lisa Becker would not even come to the returns desk. She only instructed the cashier what to say. After several rounds of this I insisted to speak with the manager. They brought over another very rude "tough guy" manager who would not help us he only said "man, you're crazy you can't return that" At this point "things" escalated and then I found out that the "tough guy" manager was sent over because the other manager, Lisa Becker snuck out on lunch (most likely to avoid dealing with this). So after all this we only received a refund for the 18 pieces! Not the first problem we've had with this store but it will be the last as we will NOT shop at Lowe's Cicero again!! We'll likely not shop at lowe's Clay either and just go to Home Depot as they know how to treat people and a reasonable to work with!!! read more

Went into lowes with a plumbing problem, walked right past at least 4 employees and no one asked me if I needed help. Now, I don't know much about plumbing so I was wondering the isles aimlessly. An employee walked right by me and didn't even make eye contact. I did eventually find what I needed, but there was absolutely no customer service. My store is the one in Cicero which I visit during the day. I had such a very good experience in the flooring dept that I had to tell the manager. First let me tell you I am an elderly widow with no knowledge of home improvement in any way. I asked the young woman in flooring about their best vinyl plank flooring in a gray color which I wanted to put in my basement family room. She went over and above even climbing up and getting down their samples they have on display. She demonstrated with a knife how scratch resistant it was since I have a dog. They had no small samples to take home so she took a board out of a box for to take home and consider. She even told me how to take care of it. I bought the floor as it was just what I wanted. Another time I went in there to buy chalk paint in gray which they didn't have so they graciously mixed it for me and explained the whole process how to paint my dresser, including the use of primer, which they also shook for me. I have learned that if you need help you go to the person in that department and ask qestions. They are more than willing to share their knowledge which I have to believe thay have received some training for especially that young woman in the flooring dept! Whenever I have gone in there and asked for help I have ALWAYS received it. That's during the day maybe part-time night workers aren't trained the same way. Home Depot in contrast good luck getting anybody to help you there! Last time I was in there I had to ask a customer for help, that's why Lowe's in Cicero is my go-to place when I need something! read more

The store manager mumbled a sorry to me when I asked to discuss it with him. I normally shop equally between Home Depot and Lowes. Recently I purchased a TroyBuilt weed wacker and blower from Lowes. Within 2 months the gears in the engine went and won't run. I went to Lowes and could care less. The return associated told me it was my fault for not taking their extended warranty. THE PART IS ONLY 2 MONTHS OLD! That was $250 down the drain. From now on I will buy my tools and big item products only from Home Depot. At least they are understanding and stand behind their name. read more
