The short version: You'll likely have a better experience at a different Lowe's (the Sparkleberry Lowe's is just up the road on Two Notch). The long version: I have been extremely disappointed both times I have visited. The first time I went to this Lowe's, I inadvertently placed an internet order to be picked up here instead of the other Two Notch Lowe's. After having received an email letting me know my order was ready for pickup, I headed to the store. When I got to the store, I went to the Lowes.com product pick-up counter at the front of the store. As sometimes happens at Lowe's, the customer service area was being used as a regular check-out register for customers so I had to wait a few minutes to check in with an employee. When I checked in, the customer service employee found my order in the system and let me know that someone would be bringing it up from the back shortly. Easy enough, right? Wrong! After waiting for about 15 minutes, I checked in with the employee at customer service and she assured me that they were on it. After that, employee after employee kept coming to the front asking if someone was working (e.g., is Tasha working?). The employee in question was never to be found. After about 35 minutes, they decided they couldn't find my order and to instead go through the store and pick each item. This was frustrating given that I could have done this myself several times over by the time they decided to go this route. I continued to wait while an employee slowly began to hand pick each item I ordered. When he had collected all items, he brought them to the front only to return to the back with a duplicate cart holding all items I ordered. The order had not been lost after all, but was in the back the whole time - it just hadn't been labeled. A quick visual check could have avoided all of this trouble. When it was all said and done, I had waited an hour for my order to be located. The whole thing was just such an unnecessary waste of time. The only silver lining to this experience was the assistance I received from Izz and Joshua, who helped load my items into my car. Update: I bravely went back to this Lowe's a second time, because I believe in second chances and I really needed an item that only this store had in stock. Unfortunately, the item was not to be found. One of the employees let me know that it was showing as in stock because it was on display. When I asked why the item next to it was not showing as in stock when it was also on display, she just repeated what she said the first time. I asked when and if the store might be selling the display items, as I needed this one to finish a bathroom set, and she said it would happen whenever the store took the display down. I still needed some things at Lowe's but didn't want to spend any more time in this one, so I headed to the other Two Notch Lowe's (Sparkeberry) where employees there informed me that this was not the policy for display items (instead, that these items are not sold because they are not installed with all proper parts). In the end, I feel both of these visits describe how this particular Lowe's location treats its customers. Many associates here don't make appropriate customer service efforts and they try to push work on other associates. read more

On September 1 at 11 o'clock AM I ordered from Lowe's. My order had not been touched For twenty three hours. I waited 20 minutes on the phone trying to talk to a manager they never answered the call. Finally, I went down to the store asked to see a manager and sat down. After five minutes of waiting the manager arrived. I told him I've been waiting five minutes he responded "You haven't been waiting for five minutes on me."I told him of the twenty three hours I've been waiting for my order to be completed. And the managers's eyes lit up when he saw that was 24 hours late so of late Just yesterday No apology no nothing. After twenty eight hours I went to pick up my order from Monday the first. September 2, 2036 @ 3:00 PM that they filled yesterday and the gentleman asked me what can I do and I pointed at the sign and said get my order and the individual goes off crazy telling me to step down and all this stuff being super aggressive. I said you don't do that to people so he bitched and grumbled and filled my Order I demanded a manager and he walked off. The customer service heard him and after he walked off they called the manager. After twenty minutes she came over. She didn't apologize for what happened or anything. She listened to what happened. All the time her body language said to me hurry and get out of the store. I asked is he going to be disciplined and she said well I have to listen to his side of the story. I said that's your problem. A customer standing here demanding that the individual will be fired for his behavior towards a customer. I said you don't fire You have a problem. A little piece of advice Lowe's Garner Ferry don't shop there. The store is not stocked there's always crap in the floor. It's just not a good Lowe's. If anywhere I'd say go to Home Depot because I will never set foot in a Lowe's again. Don't get me started about the corporate complaint line. read more

Just left Lowes on Garners Ferry Rd. I went there to purchase some Mulch and Weed Killer. There was just one Lady at the register, so I went back in the Mulch, Sand and Border area to load my stuff thinking someone would meet me there or come at some time. Well the Cart wouldn't push once loaded so I went and got the Weed Killer and explained to the Clerk the issue. She called for Outside Assistance for about ten minutes. Having to go to the Credit Union before it closed, I went back outside and got another Cart, reloaded it with my Mulch and pushed it out to my Truck to load for the third time. Your store is garbage. Your management is awful, the employees are lazy, and some guy who looked official just told me he didn't "know where the bell" pegboard. Is located nor did he offer to find someone who did. The Manager of the Flooring Dept at the Gateway Overlook store in Columbia MD has the nastiest attitude that I've ever seen in my life. I usually don't write reviews but this man was so nasty that after we walked out of the store, without doing the business we came for, I thought the management of Lowe's should know that he is driving their customers away. My husband and I went to order tiles for our basement from this store because we were already in the neighborhood. We stood waiting for him to attend to us for almost 30 mins while he was surfing his computer. I gently reminded him that we had been waiting when he started speaking with someone that just walked in and he started shouting at me and telling me that he's the manager of that department and that I should mind what I say to him. Do not recommend this store for home improvement projects like a deck. They screwed up our order more than once resulting in an over 4 month delay for a basic 10x10 deck. The sales person Tyron was unprofessional and impolite on top of it. When seeking compensation from Lowes for the problems after the deck was finally finished the Hcorporate office required us to go to the store to get our money! They also provided back less than 20% of the total deck which given the issues we had was not right. They lack the ability to serve customers and deal with issues in projects including providing timely and meaningful ways to resolve problems and see a job done right. Hopefully other Lowes are not like this one. I do not recommend anyone use this Lowe's store for their home projects. Save yourself the headache and go elsewhere. read more

Heed the warnings of terrible service and snotty employees. I've lived in several states and have been to many Lowe's and Home Depot stores. This Lowes is absolutely the worst. I've frequented this store well over 100 times. No more. I now drive the extra miles to Lowe's on Two Notch. Several of the other reviewers here now go to the Lowe's on Two Notch because of the customer service at the Two Notch location is much better (not perfect but it is better). Great job "Tall Mike"!!! The customer service was excellent! We were sent from another Lowe's location in Columbia, SC to purchase an area rug that showed to be in stock. Once at the store the rug could not be located. We looked in all the bins, asked several associates, and even an assistant manager. Nothing! "Tall Mike" came by and asked if we needed help. We explained what was going on and he immediately went to work to find what we wanted. He went way above and beyond to make sure that we got what we had gone to the store to purchase. This young man is exactly the type of person that ALL business' need working with them in order to be successful. He was friendly, respectful, diligent, and knowledgeable. He sought out a solution, not simply content with telling us that the item wasn't in the bin it was supposed to be in. Needless to say we left the store, with the exact rug we had gone there to purchase. We are very grateful to "Tall Mike" for helping us in an era where typically you can't find anyone to even ask a question of, much less have them actual help you find exactly what you are looking for. read more

I ordered ahead of time online through the Lowe's website which I thought would be wise so I could drive up and get my items. This was not the case. We had to stand socially distance apart in a line where they asked us our order number but they did not listen closely and instead goofed off behind the counter joking around instead of getting all of the orders that I pulled up. While I was waiting in line and angry mother was very frustrated that I was served ahead of her she did not realize that she was in the return line in oh I was in the pick up line of course the pick up line is a higher priority for the customer service folks. Eventually they found my item and gave it to me without even asking for any identification, that is not very safe. I do not recommend people ordering to pick up items from Lowe's at this location. read more

This is not the first time but will be the last. I go to this store looking for outdoor carpet. They are out of stock but tell me the store on Garners Ferry (20 minutes away) has plenty in stock. I drive there just to find out they have none in stock and have not had any "in a few months". This happened a few months back (same store) when I was looking for a shower insert. Was told another store has two in stock just to get there and they say nope, we don't have any. Retail stores wonder why more and more people are buying online. read more

Want fraud charges on your Lowes credit card? Lowes employee had no problem adding charges to my credit card without my knowledge or approval. Months later fraud charges were eventually reversed by credit card company but not without a lot of effort and documentation. Saga continues - after 6 months I was informed Lowes didn't have ability to design deck but was nevertheless charged for the deck and charged fees and interest. None of what has yet to be reversed and is growing due to interest and fees. Lowes appears to want to charge me for the fees and interest for deck they had NO COMPETENCY TO DELIVER! Stopped in yesterday to find screws & washers to hang a medicine cabinet. Asked associate to help. Young woman was VERY rude, almost hostile in her response. I ordered a patio door in April. It finally arrived at the store in July. I was put off for 3 weeks before the contractor could install it. On the day that I was told that he would be there between 8 - 12, I get a call at 8:30 and he tells me that he is behind about 2 hours. At 12:35 I receive another call and was told the parts to the door are not there and was left hanging. The lady from Lowes called the next day and said she had talked to the Pella Rep and they would mail the parts directly to my house. Three weeks later, I called and asked for the Pella reps name and number and was told to let her call one more time. The parts were overnighted to me. I called and left word at Lowes the parts had arrived. I couple days later I called Lowes again and was told that she would let the contractor know. Again, I was put off to the middle of September and then I received the call that the door was damaged. I finally went to Lowes and told them if the door was not put in by the last Friday in October that I would cancel the door. On Thursday October 28th the door was installed and the inside was finished. He claimed they sent the wrong finishing trim for the sunroom side and that he would be back on Friday. Friday he called and had a family emergency and I would be the first one on the list on Monday. I not heard a word. I recommend that no one buy anything to be installed from Lowes. Just moved to Columbia. Nothing but disaster with people at this Lowe's. Prior to moving in we bought four major appliances. We picked a delivery date. Two weeks before we were to move a contractor said he was coming the next day to install the dishwasher. I explained we didn't have the house date. He picked the date and time to install. He didn't show. When all the stuff got here the refrigerator was dented. Told we would get a new door. Went back to Lowe's the next day to set stuff straight. No one reported the dents. No one knew about the crazy dishwasher guy. Night manager managed to get stuff reordered but we had to be charged double until they picked up the old stuff. We didn't like the washer dryer and had to get those replaced. Called this morning. NO record of the stuff to go back. Showed up and they broke a pipe. We have NO water. They also installed the dryer incorrectly. Fire hazard. Do not shop there. We are now hoping they get our water fixed. read more

3/23/2019 Lowe's is sorry, they lie, and they have some rules that are plain stupid. Home Depot offers Veterans a discount, too. I got plants last year, the Manager this Morning told me, "It has been in Policy for 2 years that Veterans are registered their system with their DD214, and a phone number. They want to know the exact date you were discharged. Why? A Veteran is a Veteran, so I guess they are trying to cause People a lot of trouble! Also, Plants die of some kind of Fungus, and they don't honor what they say. My tree was never put in the ground, it had a small brown spot on it, I let it gather up some water, because they don't like to water them there, I took it back, some old smart man, said, "Well you shouldn't have bought it, if it had a brown spot on it!" I am sick of Lowes, spent lots of Money there- buying sheds, tools, sanders, Electric Fireplaces, drills, saws and much more but no more. They lost a good Customer today. Then another time, I reported the Restroom needed attending, I was told, "We don't have time to worry about S---! We have things to do, it was horrific- I left immediately that day, it was so bad, a little girl got sick, and lost her stomach contents, now you know that is plain laziness in their part. As soon as you walked into the Door, the stench would make a Pig wallering in mud sick. The Manager today was saying, "Call whomever you want." The Service has not ever been that great except 1 Day a Man in Hardware called another store to get the remaining parts, I needed! That was back in 2007! Folks, if you want decent service, go somewhere else. Also, they were really nasty about a Gallon of paint I took back to them, then they played those fake commercials, it was Valspar, this happened 2 different times once in 2007, and then in 2016. This today pulled all the icing off the Cake, it's over with them, and believe me, word of Mouth is the worse or best advertisement you can have. I was told go to Home Depot and get BaerPaint, leave Lowes, they will eventually catch on and it will be too late! I am done with Lowes, done as burnt Toast. After a terrible experience at Home Depot on Two Notch Road, I went to Lowe's to make my purchases. An employee was helping me within 2 minutes after entering the store. He even opened up another register to check me out. I was in and out in about 15 minutes. On July 30, 2019, I went to the Lowe's out on Highway #378 in Lexington, SC and purchased a pack of halogen light bulbs. Not paying attention to the pack, they were a double pack that someone had opened and taped back together. Once I got home, I noticed that both of the bulbs in the pack were cracked. I didn't think that I was gonna have to take the bulbs back so I didn't bother to keep the receipt where it can be found again. The next day, I decided to take the item back to the Two Notch Road store because it was much closer to where I lived instead of Lexington. While I was going there, I decided that I needed a spigot knob for my outdoor faucet. Being that I ruptured the plantar fasciitis tendon in my foot, my mobility was obviously impaired. When I asked for help near the plumbing while limping and hopping around, the a short, Black guy with glasses and in his late 40's or early 50's pointed me in the direction of what I had asked him to get for me since my foot was impaired. I told him I needed help and then he told me to go to the plumbing department and ask the guy who worked over there. Before getting there, I stopped this young guy and told him that my foot was sore and could he find the part I needed. He took it upon himself to get the guy out of the plumbing section and when he did; the guy said that he is out of that part without even looking for it. I know that it was after 9:15PM, but that is no reason that you should dismiss any customer just because you are ready to go home. I then went to customer service about my initial claim about the broken lightbulbs that I had gotten from another store and they told me that I have to bring back a receipt in order to exchange them for another pack. I have already driven 16miles to another store just to receive crappy service and do you think that I will be going back just to bring a receipt? To add the icing on the cake, I have been trying for 4days to speak to a manager on the phone and I have even gone to the store and never did a manager come out to speak to me. This store is a joke and the workers are not customer service friendly. From now on, I will go to Home Depot where people stop what they are doing to help you and walk around with you to make sure you can find what you need. read more

DO NOT USE THIS LOWES TO BUY AN APPLIANCE!!! It started with the salesman in the department whom I had to show how to open the detergent dispenser on a Bosch dishwasher. He was clueless. Then came the delivery or should I say NON-delivery. After calling mid-morning because no one called me. It took the operator five times to connect me to appliance department. She was clueless. Appliance department had the wrong number even though it was filled out on the order when we bought it a week ahead of delivery date. Yeah, why did it take a week to get on the schedule? Was told it would be delivered between 12 and 2 with a 15 minute heads-up. I called at 2:10. Manager of appliance department said there's no delivery set up for me. What???!!! Took him some time to then find the order. He finally found it, was told they were running behind, he'd call back in 5 minutes with an update. I called 30 minutes later. This time it only took the operator four times to connect me, so she's getting better :/ Manager said delivery guy was done for the day. They will deliver tomorrow. What???!!! He said when they're back at the store, the delivery guy had plans for the rest of his day. What???!!! So he's more concerned about the delivery guy's schedule rather than mine. Great. I demanded delivery. Delivery guy comes 1/2 hour later. He said he was already at the house, but no one was there. What???!!! I was home all day in the front of the house. Yeah right. He was there :/ I asked him what door he knocked on or why he didn't call? He said, "Don't question his integrity? What???!!! I asked a simple question. He was offended because I asked what door he knocked on? Really? Yeah, right he was there. I guess I was in a coma or something when he came. Tried to call store manager. He was gone for the day. He left at 3:30. What???!!! DON'T buy anything you can't walk out of the store with. DON'T BUY AN APPLIANCE FROM THIS PLACE!!!! Oh, and they still have Halloween decorations on their website in May.
