Went to Lowe's today to purchase a few items I needed since the website stated they were in stock. Get there to find out nothing I saw online was in stock! So after I realized I was walking around in circles trying to find this and that, I decided to ask someone for help. That was a struggle just trying to find someone without walking the whole store. When I did, I was told to check another location because the other store nearby had them in stock. That was another fail! Don't use same day delivery. I purchased an air purifier for a significant amount of money and paid for same day delivery on the 16th. It is now the evening of the 18th and neither the store or corporate can offer ANY sort of a resolution. The driver picked my order up and did not deliver it. The store does not have any more of my item. They refuse to let me pick it up myself from a different store. They refuse to refund. All they could do was send an email. That was the resolution after waiting for the ASM working to come by for over half an hour. That is absolutely ridiculous. I just want my item that I paid for. I should not have to track it down. I should not have to beg to pick it up from a different store. I shouldn't be told there isn't anything that can be done. read more

What a disappointing experience. We were replacing the exterior doors to our home and had selected a couple of in-stock doors. After a length/somewhat challenging process of getting the doors measured, it took a number of weeks to hear back from Lowe's. When we did, we went back in and learned that one of the doors was not in fact in stock and that the other would have to be custom-made. This visit took over an hour to get everything resolved and we ended up abandoning the plan to replace the door that needed to be custom-built due to the extended manufacturing/delivery time (~60 days). We paid for one door, which was available for transfer from another store, and installation ($1000). We were told that we should be hearing from the installer the following week. Well, the following week came and went. On Friday we called and learned that the door had just arrived the previous day. We received the number for the installer to facilitate the scheduling of the installation. We were going to call the following Monday due to some schedule conflicts. Two days after we spoke with Lowe's, we received a call that the wrong door had been delivered and that the correct door was going to cost $700 more. We were furious and cancelled the order immediately, requesting a full refund. We are now 3 weeks into a process and having to start anew. It will be a very long time before I work with this location of Lowe's again. read more

Went on a Sunday afternoon after lunch and needed assistance in the plumbing dept. They paged for help three times and no one ever showed up. Inventory is a wreck, everything is all mixed up, lots of empty spaces where stock should be, piles of stock in the wrong place. A waste of time and gas. I truly hate writing bad reviews. But this store is honestly my least favorite Lowe's I have ever been to - all around just an unenjoyable experience while you're there. No customer service, to the point an older gentleman came up to me while I was standing around aimlessly looking for an associate , he shared he has asked for assistance 3 times and received zero help. My mother had to help, an older woman pick up heavy items because yet again , no associates to help her. The carts are never in the front of the store , so you will have to turn back around and go to the parking lot to fetch your own- so just grab it before going in , unless you're wanting to get your extra steps in. And lastly , it is evident that the associates are not trained properly - not only have we had a disaster in the ordering of the appliance but also having paint made. The rest of the crew were sitting up front chitchatting while we were running around being sent to 3 different aisles! The restroom was completely nasty looks like it hasn't been cleaned since the pandemic began. Not to mention no hand soap or hand sanitizer and the stall walls look like they had been peed all over you coughed on and sneezed on. I've been a long time customer of this particular Lowe's location since it's so conveniently located to my house. Nearly every tool in my garage was bought here and every project I've completed was supplied by this location. My most recent purchase was for some custom shades for my 1st floor, totaling about $1,000.00. When I placed the order it was estimated to take two weeks to manufacture and deliver, it was postponed three times and didn't end up being delivered until a month after the order was placed. This was frustrating but understandable, stuff happens, I wasn't going to get too worked up about it. So when it was finally delivered, I noticed that one particular box seemed a little "worse for wear". After opening the first roller shade, I immediately noticed sub par quality and small scratches all over the lower portion of the shade. It's hard to describe what it looked like, but it didn't look like something that happened in delivery, but rather at the warehouse it was manufactured in (I'm not an expert so I'm not sure). That damage wasn't extreme, but for the price that I paid, I expected something great. Instead I feel like I bought them at Walmart. I called customer service and for the most part they were helpful. I was transferred to the store manager of the location I ordered them at. She did offer to replace the damaged shade, but I didn't wan't to wait another month for something disappointing. She then offered a refund of the damaged shade. So I can't complain too much there. I just feel like my time has been wasted. And after spending more money than my wife would probably like at this location, I was hoping for something more, like a bit of a discount if I had decided to re order and an expedited delivery or something to make up for the inconvenience. To summarize, I've really liked this place until a recent botched expensive order. I'll still come here for small purchases. But for any large purchases I'll be going to Home Depot or smaller local shops. Edit 1: So after sucking it up and deciding to install the shades anyway. I noticed that they were manufactured completely wrong. The brackets force us to install two shades next to each other in a way that makes them roll in opposite directions. Will a guest notice that these two shades are backwards? No, but it is going to drive me insane every time I look at it. One shade has a dark brown "edge" on the bottom, and another has a beige fabric brim. This is either incompetence on the manufacturing end. Or a mistake by the lady that submitted the order. Now I have no choice but to return them all and order somewhere else when I can find time. (Am a Drill Sergeant so most places close by the time I get off). This sucks, never in my life did I think that shades would take me on such a rollercoaster of emotions. Edit 2: Found what appears to be paint splatter in the middle of another shade. read more

I bought my home in 2009 and have been coming to this Lowe's for everything--appliances, installations, paint, flowers. In the last three years the service has been steadily declining. The managers must truly hate to hear complaints, too, because they evaporate like ghosts whenever you ask to talk with one. I really feel sorry for the regular floor employees who are clearly overworked and poorly trained. The last straw was attempting to buy and have new doors installed at my house. The sales associate had no clue and gave me wrong information. The installation crew was inexperienced and caused damage to my house and to the doors--so much that they all three had to be reordered. Lowe's headquarters is working to resolve the issue but are pretty ineffectual at being able to get anyone at the store to answer the phone (if that tells you something) or to get the installers to call them back. It's a joke--at least it would be if they didn't take your money before leaving you in the lurch when the installers do shoddy work. Never again, Lowe's, unless I can pick it up myself in the store and use the self checkout. My advice? If you are shopping here, lower your expectations--not just a little but a lot. Now drop them a bit more... There you go--you're ready to shop. read more

Do no shop at Lowe's! They do not stand behind the products they sell! I bought a weed eater 92 days ago and because it is past the 90 day window the will not exchange it. I even bought the extended warranty and because of a "new" policy change Paul the assistant store manager of store number 1064 on garners ferry road will not exchange it like they have in the past with the extended warranty. They are making me go through craftsman for repairs which I've never had to do before. And I'm out a week eater until repairs are made. Anyone wanna we'd eat for me? Buyer beware. With the store closure due to retirement of cedar terrace hardware this is a great alternative. Friendly staff who are very familiar with the department they're skills are native to (plumbing department answered my plumbing question but was not sure about my HVAC electric question and referred me to the HVAC electrician on duty at the time). Picked up item and them returned it at customer service for a store credit. They said they couldn't credit my account without my card. ZERO STARS for THEIR WEBSITE's INACCURATE OUTDATED INFORMATION REGARDING AVAILABILITY OF ITEMS. (5 stars for awesome employees who really care, work hard and not their sh*t) Many high ticket appliances are advertised in primary positions on the website as available - and even on sale. You spend lots of time going through the product details, comparing different models etc, only to discover that it is NOT AVAILABLE. Chat services are just as bad because Chat employees use the same worthless, time suck, inaccurate data base as we consumers. It's even worse because they can look up stores close to your zip code and tell you how many items the various stores have in stock. BUT after many attempts at using Chat for this very purpose with absolutely no luck in locating a stove in 3 different cities in multiple stores, I was finally told by an employee that Lowe's data base software used by Chat employees is not only the same inaccurate data we consumers use online but that the information regarding what is in stock & where is totally WRONG! I called a Loews store in Columbia SC at the end of September because Chat told me the appliance was in stock there. But the in-store employee told me the item I was calling had been out of stock since MAY! Lowes had five months to update the accuracy of their inventory's availability online for consumers & their Chat personnel and they didn't do it. It's not just this item it's many appliances. Meanwhile Lowes continues to promote this product and many others online as if they're available for delivery or in store pickup and it's ABSOLUTE LIES. I was later told that their entire system still uses DOS! Can you imagine?! WTF?! DOS?! No wonder their data base sucks. Whoever manages Lowes at higher levels is an idiot. Penny wise and pound foolish. Don't want to spend money to update software. And obviously they don't want to spend the extra dollar to have sufficient man-hours of staff in-store The result is a very poor customer experience. It's not the employee's fault, mind you. It's obviously coming from "upstairs." The staff are really great - particularly the veterans. I was renovating a rental house spending thousands of dollars a week at Lowes and after a while I just got burned out on the hours and hours of time wasted by inaccurate information and stores without enough staff. I took my business elsewhere to their competition and got far better service and on-line software that was actually accurate. What a concept! So if anyone from Lowe's upper management is reading this - you need to get your act together b/c you're destroying your brand. I know labor is tight right now and it's hard to find staff. however, associate training is not affected by scarcity, so the extremely poor performance found in this lowes is inexcusable. This is squarely the fault of very poor and low caliber management,not the workers fault. In fact, I have never met a manager, department supervisor or executive there of the many times I've been. I now drive extra miles to avoid going to this lowes. They are unreliable in every useful way. Now and then I find an associate willing to with general useful knowledge. Just had a frustrating phone experience with Joanie in Store Support. I don't have an issue with their gift card policy (read: no refunds). However, I was given 3 GC of various amounts this Christmas to finish a DIY project in my home. They are now worthless, because the store, nor store support will special order the item(s) I'm looking for. April tells me Lowes policy is now they will not special order items due to Covid harming supply chains. Forget that they stock items already from this supplier. They won't make an exception and order the item I need for me to use these GCs. I'm told repeatedly that I can "use them anytime on other projects". But the store ALSO no longer stocks the LVP I need to finish the landing on the stairwell EITHER. So, I have $217-300 approximately in gift money they intend to keep. They won't refund it, so I can BUY the items at the Home Depot across the street, NOR will they order the item even at a higher price, so that I can finish my stairwell! I understand the policy, but exceptions can be made, when 400 yards away, the item exists. But they don't want to give the money to their competition. What's most alarming, is once I spoke with Joanie in "Store Support", she refused to give me any further information to take the problem to someone who CARES about the situation I'm in. THIS is partly why we're in this "Retail Apocalypse". Corporations conform to the Amazon model, and GIVEAWAY FREELY the elements of the shopping experience, customers still crave: Humanity. Bottom Line; My family has invested in a company, Lowes, I no longer wish to shop in, due primarily to their unwillingness to stray from policy to help me finish my project. This Lowe's is close to my home. If I can help it, I will make the extra 20 mn drive to go to the Home Depot up the road. I am thankful that they are here but I have renovated my house a few times and I always run into some kind of an issue with them. First, I placed an online order where you pick up the items in the store. When I got to the store (at the time the system told me to arrive) my order was incorrect. In the time it took to get my order fixed, I could have just gotten my stuff off the shelves so it didn't save me even a minute of my time. I'm glad they automated their veteran program because before I would always have to fight to get them to accept my VA Ids. They have a semi-good selection and the staff tries to be helpful but there are definitely not enough of them. I have to give them an okay rating because I'm in there all the time however, I'm only there because of the convenience. I find better prices at Surplus Warehouse and better finds at Southern Salvage. read more

I went to the tool section and she sent me to the paint section. 2 workers in the paint section said they had not idea where it was and walked away. I then searched for marking flags. I could not find anyone who knew where to find this. I am so done going here. I will drive the extra distance. After getting an estimate, on January 11, 2021 we paid for a new front door and storm door. They came out and installed a front door that has a dent in it, and as of today they still haven't installed the storm door. The door has the wrong glass in it. Purchased a refrigerator two days ago. Was supposed to be delivered on Sunday. Received a call Sunday morning saying it could not be delivered. Tried calling customer service and the carrier and they could not help me with rescheduling or a refund. Went to the store and the manager on duty attempted to reschedule with their carrier Spirit. Was finally reschedule for today and was supposed to be delivered between 1230 and 430. Well I cancelled what I had going on for a second day in a row. Did not receive a phone call. Called Spirit to check on delivery status. I was informed it was not loaded again. Again rescheduled for a third time. Was told it was not loaded on the truck again. I do not have a lot of faith in this third attempt. I cannot even get a refund. I will not recommend this location to anyone and will recommend to everyone I know to go elsewhere. Poor service. Out of $500 I guess. 3rd time and no delivery I will be seeking assistance for a civil matter. Every person I have spoke with does not know what to do. read more

I purchased a fridge on 6/23 from your Harbison that was said it would be delivered 6/25/22. Apparently the fridge was stocked at Garnerferry location which was never communicated. I have still not received the fridge and delivery dates continue to pushed out. Yesterday I received a call from automated services stating my fridge would be delivered Wed. today. This morning I get a call from garnersferry location stating that it again did not make the delivery truck and would be rescheduled for 7/2/22. I advised her not to change anything because I received a automated update that it would be here today. She confirmed she was looking at the fridge and would not be delivered today. I then called Harbison location to speak to a manager. Apperantly the fridge now suppose to deliver tomorrow. As a common courtesy they should have made sure they had my fridge delivered to me today since they were looking at my fridge. Garnersferry location had my fridge since Saturday and confirmed they are looking at my fridge with my name on it but can not get it shipped today. Due to the inconvenience and loss of food related to this delay and confusion on your end why couldn't one of the warehouse employees deliver the fridge as a common courtesy. This is unacceptable. I have worked in a warehouse setting below and this would be a courtesy we would have accommodated. Your stores do not know what they are doing. I have never had an issue with your company before but this is unacceptable. Your company has loss any business from my family, friends and myself. My groceries have gone bad and I am suppose to just take a loss? As on right now I am suppose to receive my fridge tomorrow. Let's see how that goes. read more

Just came out of Lowe's. Virtually every staff member I saw in the store either had their mask down around their chin or it was only covering their mouth and their nose was exposed. Several employees were talking to customers in very close proximity and had their mask around their chin completely exposing their mouth and nose. It was beyond ridiculous. read more

I would just like to say Michael gave my mother and I white glove service. That is, going above and beyond what the bare standard is, and genuinely looking out for the satisfaction of the customer. Why is this important? Because Home Depot can have a wider selection of tools, selection of wood grain for contractors to choose from, gardening supplies, lawnmowers, etc. but it doesn't mean jack if a customer walks in there being made to feel like trash. Michael did exactly what any retail veteran would do; used his charm, and expertise to help AND even educate the customer (in this case, my mother, I was just a witness here). I would also like to point out that Daniel was a really big help, at a time of day when no one else on hardware would help us. We had been to the store earlier that day to get some other things taken care of in the hardware isle, and I would also like to recognize Daniel for multitasking like a boss. I witnessed both of these men, Daniel and Michael, at different times of the day, really do their best to help us, and other customers out. I hope you guys get the recognition you deserve. Over the past maybe 20 times I've been to that store over the last week, It's folks like these that make me come to Lowe's first. read more

They had what I needed and people were available throughout the store to help but it all went downhill when I got to the register. I bought some plain white tiles which were 16 cents each. They of course didn't have a bar code or anything on them. The cashier tried to look them up in a book she had at the register. She couldn't find it. She had to ask someone else what she should do and that person didn't seem too helpful. She told her to page another department to get them to call her at the register. We wait and wait. No one calls. She tries to search on the computer to find the item. I actually tried to help her. Still... no luck. I'm pretty patient but at this point it had been around 10 minutes at the register so I turn around and make eye contact with the woman that was maybe a tiny bit helpful last time. She just looks at me and goes back to what she's doing. Finally a guy comes over and asks what we needed. He runs back and finds the price and comes back and oh hey... what do you know... 16 cents each. 15 minutes standing at the register. Not cool, Lowes. Not cool. read more
