I recently had a disappointing experience at the Lowe's in Decatur, Texas. I visited the store on February 22nd to purchase two storm doors and was informed that a installer would need to come to my home for quote. During this visit, I was told that I could get 20% off if I applied for a Lowes credit card. The installer came to my house on the following Tuesday but informed me that he did not measure storm doors and gave me an approximate installation cost of $199.00. I returned to the store on Thursday February 26 to finalize the purchase and apply for the credit card. But the new associate told me that previous Associate had sent the wrong installer for a quote, and they needed to come out again. Also, the new Associate told me that the previous information about the discount was incorrect-it only applied to the first $100,00 of the purchase. This was not explained to me initially. I had to make multiple trips from Bowie to Decatur and rearrange my schedule for the installer come back measure again. I also had trouble with communication, as I didn't hear back from the installer until the following week and I had to take another day off for the remeasurement. I returned back to Lowes in Decatur last Tuesday March 10th, tried to address these issues with the store manager and I was greeted by two managers. She took my information and I was promised a call that never came. Ultimately, I decide to cancel my purchase and went to Home Depot instead. This experience has been quite inconvenient and frustrating, and I hope Lowe's improve their customer experience moving forward from this review. read more

I am glad we were able to find all the materials needed to start building our deck. The employees were all friendly and kept asking if I needed assistance in each department. Checkout in Pro Services was great as well. The only thing: we ended up waiting over 40 minutes (running the engine underneath the awning with AC blasting since we had a vehicle full of kiddos) for them to bring out the lumber! And they DO NOT load it for you or secure it, liability reasons. I knew they would not secure it based on my work history at previous Lowe's locations, all we needed was it to be brought out! Anyway, sitting at Pro Services reminded me of why I didn't continue my employment with Lowe's when I moved. A lot of expectation places on too few people so those people end up not caring because they know it's too much work! I know it's busy which is why we didn't throw a fit though. read more

Lowe's Services: I tried to work with Lowe's Services on getting a generator installed and their services department was fairly incompetent. The sales person said that they had generators available and they would take care of everything - which of course neither ended up being true. Estimate stated Lowe's would pull all permits, provide the generator, the pad and handle the effective project management of the install. When the contract came, they had changed the delivery date from July to August, they changed to homeowner to pull permits and they were not providing the pad but the contractor would. Also within the contract they said that within 2-days of the generator being received they would notify me. In reality, the generator was delivered to the warehouse on September 29th and there was no notification. I sent an email on October 17th and only then did they say they had it. They would not setup and install until I showed up in the store mid-November to talk to the manager. They attempted to contact a contractor who would not return their calls so they gave up and gave me the phone number to work it out. When I got the contractor to agree to an install, Lowe's did not deliver the generator until the next day. I had to work with another sub-contractor to get them to come out the following week and they did not have a pad, so I had to get them to get one. In the end, they offered $300 for my trouble, however they made ~$2000.00 on the install, after paying the sub-contractor, I politely rejected the offer and chose to let those who read this know to stay away from Lowe's in Decatur, Tx. if not at least the professional services piece. read more

A nice young lady named Cindy Hooten is a great asset to your store. She has helped us numerous times to find exactly what we needed and at the best store price. She is very friendly and ALWAYS willing to help. I hope you take note of this and she gets something for going above and beyond as an employee. read more

Customer Service at this location is non-existent. There is no one to check you out either. The sales associates are slow to respond and have no idea about what the products are. read more

My washer died and I saw one on ad at Lowe's. I went to the store to purchase and they didn't have any yet on hand , even though they were being advertised. They assured me that I would have it delivered in 3 days so I went ahead and purchased it. Lo & behold on the day it was to be delivered I received a call indicating that the washer was on back order and wouldn't be received for at least 30-60 days. Now what? Plus the person that called me indicated he was "Only the messenger ". What a lousy way to do business. Why would anyone want to shop here? read more

Review Updated**** This Lowe's is terrible. We had to return the grill we purchased due to it being damaged. It took 30 mins and 7 employees to finally get help. It was the same girl who helped us previously. Before exchanging the grill, we made sure the new one wasn't damaged. Went through 7 boxes until one was found without damage. They were so bad, there were massive holes from the forklifts jabbing in the box. ALWAYS CHECK YOUR PRODUCT IN THE BOX BEFORE LEAVING WITH IT. My husband worked for Lowe's for 8 years, so I understand what the job entails. We came in on a Sunday, it was dead. We asked two young men for help with grills, waited 20 mins until we found another associate who then paged over the intercom within a minute. It still took another 20 minutes for someone to help us. Ridiculous. Employees are more concerned with closing and leaving than helping the customers. Only reason I'm giving this store two stars is because the woman who finally did help us was prompt, apologetic, and got us the help we needed. read more

Horrible customer service. Spent $2500 on a riding mower and it has been a week and 3 days over when it was supposed to be shipped to me. First call I made to the store and they didn't have a record that I actually bought it (lucky I kept my receipt) the manager finally called me back and told me it was rescheduled without telling me. Now I'm here the day before they are supposed to ship it to me for the second time and I keep getting hung up on. I was put on hold until they closed. And I still have no confirmation that they are coming. read more

Although the workers are very helpful in finding things the way many of the items are stocked makes it near impossible to actually access things without their assistance. If you log onto their app you clearly can see items in stock however when you actually get there items are places so highly on shelves it makes them often times impossible to retrieve. This makes what should be a quick in and out a process which takes far to long. read more

I guess the only reason this store is so crowded is because there are no other hardware stores in this town. I have never seen a store more understaffed than this one. Only needed a common simple compression fitting for a gas line. Took 20 minutes to find someone that had to go ask someone else (he worked in another department). Finally, after having to ask her twice, she left another customer to come tell me she "thought" they may not have one. Dropped the other items I was going to buy right there. I figured if Lowes didn't care anymore than that, they didn't deserve the business on my purchase of the rest of the items. It's no wonder Lowe's is closing stores. read more

Typical Lowes super center nothing special. Everything you could ever want all in one stop shopping. Very well managed and maintained.

Corporate Lowe's should be ashamed of this store. Both the store manager and the regional manager should be fired. The store is a filthy mess 90% of the time you walk in there. I used to live in Arlington and the Lowe's there was well run and immaculate. There are a few decent employees but darn few. Turn over seems high and most of the time you have to tackle an employee to get any help. Can't understand why there can be such a dump other than poor management. Get your act together corporate, this store is an embarrassment. read more

In all of my days I have never been to a hardware store without makita, Milwaukee or ryobi. I can cannot support a store that chooses dewalt or Milwaukee. I'm 14 and think that I have a little more knowledge on power tools than the employees. I asked where I could find a reciprocating saw because I've always been a Home Depot person and where I moved doesn't have one. The person then had to go to the back of the store and find someone who knew what that was. read more
