I was wowed at first, but that has completely faded…read more I called one place and they would not even talk to me as they blatantly stated that they would cost too much. I may have to write a review on that company just for that reason. So in my search to have my fence repaired I came across Sav-on Fence. I think they need to change the name and you will see why in a moment. The estimator came to my house and looked at what needed done. Two large gates and a smaller gate needed adjusted from some shoddy asphalt work we had done. (see my review on Tommy's Paving) A long story short they quoted me a $485 to adjust the fences as I was told that they would have to cut off the bolts and weld them in different places as not to degrade the integrity of the poles the gates were attached to. As I couldn't get another company to even take a look I agreed. (WTF is up with the DFW area and contractors? Seriously) I bite the bullet and pay the cost up front. The workers came while we were at work and completed everything. I checked the gates and they worked as promised. I never scrutinized the work until recently. The work was done mid November 2015. When I looked, there were no cut bolts, no welding. They merely moved some brackets and raised the fences. Today I called the company and happened to get the owner on the phone. When I told him about how the gates were not repaired in the more costly manner explained on my written job ticket, the owner started going on about how they should have never done the repair in the first place as it was less than $800. He continued to tell me that he doesn't make any money if he charges less than that. Guess what, I don't care. I was promised certain work be done and the work that was done was less than quoted. The owner continued and even bothered to tell me that the estimator was now in trouble. Really? Was it necessary to tell me that and make me feel bad for some poor guy that was trying to help me get in and out of our back yard? On a final note, he said I got a deal and he would not be refunding any of the price. I am glad he thinks that promising one type of work and doing way less is "A Deal". I will not even bother calling this company if I need any type of fence installed or repaired. Have your gold Visa ready if you wish to use this company.
