Upgrading my review to 5 stars based on my recent refrigerator purchase. From reading my reviews most of you have probably figured out I'm a bit of a cheapie. I can't stand paying full price for anything. I've been in need of a new fridge for a while, especially after Massachusetts canceled tax free weekend last year. When they cancelled TFW this year, I could not live another year with a leaky ice maker. So off I went to Lowes for their 4th of July appliance sale. Sales people were great. Encouraged me to walk around opening doors and drawers. Then helped explain the pros and cons of the models I liked. Then let us know that the sale was extended - so I didn't have to rush home and measure my kitchen to see if we could accommodate the extra inch in size. Especially since I was getting on a plane the next day. 10 days later we ordered the fridge. Got to pick our delivery day and our time preference- morning, afternoon or evening. Got the call last night that we would get delivery this morning - just like we wanted. The delivery guys were great. Fast. Professional. Respectable. Spoke English. Gave me time to clean the floor and walls after they pulled the old refrigerator out. It was a much better experience than when we purchased a dishwasher from a high end appliance store 2 years ago. ***************************** It is obvious to compare this Lowes to the HD a mile down Rt 30. Lowes I've found to have more knowledgeable staff, more helpful employees, cashiers available (so you don't have to do self checkout). I've had better luck finding light fixtures and cabinet hardware. They have a nice garden department with fabulous sales. I'll take this place over HD any day. read more

Lowe's in Framingham is always a ghost town. That's why I go there. Went today looking for a cleaning item / brush that attaches to a drill. Went up and down the aisles. Plenty of employees on the floor "working" I tried to ask a woman for I do - she was running around with a scan gun. As I approached her, she looked up, scanned a random item and took off up the aisle. I went down another aisle and there was another employee, leaning on a shelf looking around - what he was doing was watching a video on his phone. WTF Lowe's??????? I have liked Lowes. I do mostly find the in store experience positive. Like when I buy paint, or need input on a product. I recently bought a washing machine from Lowes, end of September. I didn't purchase their support package. The delivery , this is the third time, was less than stellar. Within 2 months the washer died. I called Lowes. Not helpful. I called Whirlpool who was very helpful. Got a service guy to come out. Turns out the install by Lowes contractors was done incorrectly. This caused the eventual failure of the machine. The value now is reduced significantly. I have now been without a washing machine for 3 weeks. Hopefully they can fix it today. read more

Buyer Beware Framingham MA On May 26th, I purchased a refrigerator along with delivery, haul-away, and a 5-year service plan--totaling $2,081.03. On delivery day, the crew refused to bring it in, saying it wouldn't fit through the doorway (which is 31.5" wide--fridge was 29.5" with the doors off). Instead of trying, they left with it still on the truck. I went to the store that same day to ask for a refund and noticed two other couples at the counter describing the exact same issue. When the sales associate, Ed, finally acknowledged me, he muttered "I guess I won't be getting lunch today," then told me that no action was needed on my part and the refund would "happen automatically" once the fridge returned to the warehouse. That didn't sit right with me, so I followed up. The next day I called customer service. Princess was kind and clarified that I did, in fact, need to request a cancellation--and she helped me file an urgent cancellation case. Since she couldn't issue the refund herself, I returned to the store. Christian at the return desk was polite and helpful, showing me the documentation that it was "in process." A couple of days later, I received an email showing I'd been refunded $1,831.06, but this did not include the $249 service plan, $50 haul-away, or $29 delivery fee. After four more phone calls, I was told I could pick up the $249 in cash and would receive the $50 as a credit to my card. When I picked it up, I got the $249--but the $29 was issued as store credit, not a refund. I asked for this to be corrected. Katie, the assistant store manager, told me: "I wasn't part of the original sale so I can't do anything about this." When I asked to speak to someone who could help, she became visibly annoyed and said, "You can call George tomorrow or customer service." I asked her to call for me--she handed me the phone and then walked away for 40 minutes. Katie was rude and dismissive. Thankfully, Melita from customer service was professional and sympathetic. She managed to get the $50 refunded to my card but couldn't fix the issue with the store credit. She tried calling the store multiple times on my behalf but kept getting disconnected. She assured me someone would call within 24 hours to resolve it. As of now, that still hasn't happened. This experience involved four separate transactions to get one refund, multiple trips to the store, and hours on the phone--all for a product I never even received. While some staff were kind and helpful (Princess, Christian, Melita), the overall process was chaotic and unnecessarily difficult. I don't typically leave negative reviews, but this was exhausting. I would strongly recommend caution if you plan to purchase large appliances here. read more

Very friendly when I initially shopped in December and helpful staff with the online order pick-up I did. I came in 1-4-25 to return some Christmas items I over-bought and did not use. And was briskly told by Return counter NO Christmas returns allowed (after 12-24-24 she said). It's on the sign-she pointed to a very small print sign on the wall. RIDICULOUS! I had $30 dollars of items to return and was shocked. I will tell everyone on my 5000 mom's group and NEVER shop at Lowe's again. Terrible policy! read more

Delivery cancelled and no new delivery date was made even though the person calling to cancel said it would be delivered the next day. So when I call, the next available date is 2 days away, while my contractors are standing around waiting for the materials to finish the job. When you call them, you wait 20-30 minutes on hold to speak to an associate and then another 15 minutes for the manager! Absolutely awful customer service! Ps this is the 3rd time they have done this! read more

June 2023: 4: I thought this store had a fairly decent selection as I have found in most of the stores of this size. While I was looking around, I found that the two staff workers that I encountered were capable and knowledgeable about the technology devices they needed to determine if their inventory included several items that I needed to complete my project. read more

Lowe's my wife and I ordered a stove from Lowe's along with a microwave. And a gas stove installation. Which we saved money for months knowing our stove was on its way out. Well shortly after we ordered our new stove the old one died. We ordered our stove Memorial Day weekend and as of July 21st we still don't have an installed stove in our house. When we ordered our stove and installation we were told to wait seven days and the install company would call to set up a date to do the install. So I called after about ten days not hearing from them . I was then told the install company was waiting for a permit approval from my town, and I would have to wait 5 days and if I do t hear back from them to call back. I didn't have access to the install company as they are a third party . So every time I called I was put on hold for at least 45 minutes. Finally after speaking to a Lowe's associate they got a hold of the installer to ask what was going on. The installers said they are still awaiting a permit. They will call me when the permit comes through. At this point it had been 12 days and still no answer . I waited ten more days cooking on my grill outside for my family to eat, in the rain and sweltering heat. I called again it's now been 22 days again we are waiting on a permit. So I called my town asking about this permit, and I was told they have not submitted a permit. Okay. I call back again second time in the day and again I am told they are still awaiting a permit. I wait another ten days and called back again and this time they told they were awaiting the permit I told them the permit was never even called in to my town. They then had me speak to a supervisor this is 32 days after I ordered my stove. The supervisor tells me he is excavating my order and someone will call me within 24 hours. Well 24 hours later still no call so I called again, then I was told the install company has 7 business days to get the permit. So I called back seven days later and I was told it would be 5 more days. So now it's been 47 days. After which I been calling every day since sometimes twice a day I've spoken managers corporate and install company. At this point I was told they don't have anybody to install the stove. I asked why? Because of the install this is the main reason my wife and I chose Lowe's. And not Home Depot To make it easier this has not been easy. So to some it up. Do not do install through Lowe's for anything in fact don't even shop there especially the one in Framingham. It def. Feels like nobody cares. Especially when you're told by really nice people that someone else will call you within 24 hours. And nobody calls. so you call back and are put on hold each time about 30-45 minutes. It has now been 57 days and I'm still waiting on my stove. Very disheartening and concerning to think they are probably doing this to other people too. This needs to be known. read more

I ordered a refrigerator from Lowe's. It was the fifth appliance we have bought in the past year. The other four were from Best Buy or Hudson Appliance, and we had great experiences at both. Not at Lowe's. The frig was supposed to be delivered between 11-3. I called at 2:30 and the store told me "they're probably running late." Called back an hour later, and they still couldn't tell me anything, except that I was supposedly the next delivery. (Both times I had to sit on hold for 10+ minutes. At 5pm I left for my sons' baseball game. They were supposed to call a 1/2 hour before delivery but I still didn't get a call. By 6:50, I still had not received a call. I called Lowe's and cancelled my $2800 refrigerator. I'll be sending my business to places that value my time and business. Lowe's does neither. read more

Hello All, I am sorry again for writing this review. My experience: - there are only automatic checkouts. No problem. - the checkout machines, to save money; they have never been upgraded. So, they do not offer as they should; ask for the number of paper bags to add to the items purchased, on the screen. - the paper bags placed on the left console; were covering a written piece of paper; written by hand with a code. - I am sorry, I did not notice, the hand-written part. - the attendant, of course, considered me, that I wanted to not pay for the paper bag. - I agreed to pay for the paper bags. No problem. I apologize, and I offered to make a secondary transaction. Instead; I got more admonishment from the attendant. - I asked to speak to the manager. - I was of course they refused me to speak with the manager. The answer was: I cannot speak with the manager with me; until the complaint I have is satisfactory. I only got the items in my cart; no paper bag to be clear. I left 10 cents just in case. I signed up for a kids craft event that was featured on their website with some other dads and our kids. We showed up on time, e-mail confirmation in hand, and no one there had any idea what we were talking about. Fortunately they had some old kits to give us, but refused to let us build them in the store. Poor experience for the kids. Completely disorganized and a waste of time. I went into Lowe's to buy two things tonight, one of them a dowel. I had to ask four employees before one stopped to look it up and help me. when I went to correct aisle, an incredibly aggressive contractor (Empire on his shirt) shouted at me. apparently cart was so overloaded, was not safe for me to grab $3 dowel that took me 25 mins to find. Lowes employee watched, did not try to explain until contractor belittled me. No caution tape up, no gates closing aisle. I will not go back, after 8 years of being a regular customer. I went to Lowe's Framingham 3 weeks ago to look at screen doors. The gentleman told me that the process is that for $35 they will send a contractor to my home to measure the doors. The contractor will send the measurements to Lowe's and they will contact me so I can come back and shop for the right doors. Sounds simple right? No true, the contractor came out, took measurements and sent them right back to Lowe's. Lowe's never contacted me and when I tried to call the store and department directly, you can imagine how horrible of an experience that was. I ultimately decided to cut Lowe's out. Ran in here this afternoon to grab one item from the plumbing section for a much needed repair to my shower faucet. Of course what I wanted was not carried in the store which forced me to pay double. Finding an employee to confirm the display at the end of the aisle was all they carried was easy and he was most friendly, even if he didn't give me the answer I wanted. It was 5 pm when I walked in and I swear, the night crew had already started as there were pallets clogging up the aisles.. I thought using the self checkout would get me out quick. How wrong I was. The lack of communication and operations that Lowe's has is unbelievably bad. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. 1.) I received an email that my washer & dryer order was scheduled to be delivered and they gave me a 12 HOUR WINDOW for delivery. My husband and I both work and figuring out schedules is not easy. 2.) The drivers showed up the day of scheduled delivery at 11AM, did not get out of their vehicle, and drove away. It had snowed that morning but no more than an inch. I received a call from someone at the truck company (that Lowe's outsourced) and they said they couldn't install because of the snow. They did not bother to get out of the truck, call me, or come to the door. Instead they drove away. My laundry is located in the basement and they wouldn't have even had to use the front steps, which they would have known if they had called me or come to the door. I called the delivery drivers, the delivery coordinator, and couldn't get through to anyone. 3.) Since I had taken the off I was upset that I had wasted a day for delivery and no one was getting back to me. I ended up calling Lowe's customer service and they patched me back to the delivery coordinator in Framingham, MA. At this point it was 3PM, and he told me they would likely not be able to deliver. I asked what the next steps were and he said we could find another delivery date. I said that I couldn't do weekdays since I had just taken a day off from work for nothing. He said he could deliver that weekend and said he would put me down for Saturday 12/14 and I would get a different delivery person. 4.) Saturday rolls around and they never called to let me know what time they would be arriving. I called in the morning and delivery coordinator at Framingham told me he had me in the system for next Wednesday, 12/18. He remembered me from earlier in the week and apologized, but this is unacceptable. He said he was reaching out to the Marketing Director to see what the issue was with my original delivery, since I wasn't the only one that called and complained. He mentioned compensating people from their time but then never mentioned that again. Since they screwed up my order again I asked to speak to the Marketing Director but he said they don't give that out. 5.) Now what? This is the second day I cleared my schedule for these people to deliver my appliances. He tells me they can come the next day, on Sunday 12/19. I had plans but I had to cancel because Lowe's is incompetent. 6.) The delivery guys show up on Sunday, 12/19 (sure enough it was the same delivery guy that drove away on Wednesday that I was promised a different person). The first thing he says is "oh, we're not going to be able to install today. You have old water hoses and we can only install with new ones." GREAT. That would have been great information to know and I wouldn't have paid for the install. Still have not heard from anyone in customer service or the Marketing Director on this whole situation. This is unacceptable. I'm the first of my friends to buy a house and will be telling everyone to STAY AWAY from purchasing appliances from Lowe's. I bought my dishwasher from Best Buy a few weeks earlier and had no issue and they had stellar communication. read more

Mark in appliance is really helpful. We went looking for a new refrigerator and on one of the busiest shopping days of the year. MA Tax Free Day! Mark took time to explain the features, the price savings and helped us to get an on-line $150 rebate that was being offered during a limited time. We wouldn't have even known about it if he hadn't told us. He was also not pushy to try and convince us to buy one over the other. He listened to our needs and showed us which ones would work the space we have and how we are using it. I would call ahead and see when he is working and meet him when it is not so busy. Kudos to Framingham Lowe's. But honestly a store is only as good as the people providing the service. I'd like to commend the staff in general for helping me with recommendations etc. but wanted to call out Jim who was especially helpful with our lumber needs. Not only did he provide friendly service and advice, he went above and beyond with making sure he cut it for us (many cuts) and made sure pieces would match etc. all the while maintaining a friendly conversation that is very welcoming. One piece of the set was not available, but they went though options with me as to how I could get the missing piece in the quickest way possible. If you need service under warranty for an appliance you bought less than 6 months ago this is not the store to go to . We bought a freezer in Jan.2022 and it stopped working in May 2022. After trying everything service told us to try it still didn't work. We were told we had to find our own service man as they don't have any. In addition we bought the extended warranty, which pays up to $ 300 for food that was lost, but it doesn't apply since the original warranty won't cover it. Went up the chain of managers and was told that none of them had authority to do anything. Suggested I call corporate Lowe's and after more than an hour on hold I gave up. Lessen learned - if you want to buy an appliance go to a specialty store that has it's own service dept and will stand behind it's sale. All Lowe's cared about was taking my money and too bad if you need service help. Customer care is not a priority. read more

This place deserves a zero or a negative star. If corporate "gives A ^$%" then they will look into this store. Lowe's MAY have a superior product than other home improvement stores but that doesn't give them the right to treat anyone like garbage. (I am only talking about this store) You go in on a Saturday afternoon and the place is empty, on the same Saturday afternoon Home Depot is packed!!! The parking​ lot is overflowing!!!! First, I wonder why? I have been to both stores plenty of times (in the south shore area,) and found them to be very competitive​ with customer service​. Always greeting you when you walk in, and when you ask a question, they will actually respond. Unlike this Lowes in Framingham​ where the employees shrug their shoulders and walk away. ( on multiple times!!! I have receipts​ to prove that​​ I actually did purchase and not making this up!!!) I already bought my kitchen cabinets (5 days earlier) and needed help with getting kickplates for it. I am NOT over exaggerating​ but I​ waited 37 min before someone came to help me AFTER I asked 4 different​ people and 1 manager for assistance. They did not even bother asking what is it that I​ needed help with. I asked someone in the appliances section and they said I​ don't work in that department and walked away!!! The second​ person responded by saying not sure where the person who works in this department​ is and walked away. This is not an isolated incident. I had to come down here because I had already purchased hardwood floors and needed a few more things and the same thing happened a few days later. This reflects strongly on management who don't​ care or are incompetent of training employees on customer service. I am sure corporate​ knows this store is not making money like its other locations. If they give​ a damn don't​ listen to me, just drive down to Framingham and spend a half hour in their parking and then its competitor​ 3 min up the road and you will know how much business they are losing by the minute. read more

It would not be fair to castigate this store for not having everything because they do. The store is well laid out and we did get friendly service from a garden associate and Rich in hardware. But, most associates just walk by and ignore you. The worst thing is trying to leave. One register with one cashier taking forever and an inability to deal with another customer's check. Plus, there were problems with self check out. I can't bring myself to go back there. There is one in Milford and a Home Depot in Framingham plus there is a terrific hardware store in Hopkinton with terrific service. But this Lowes is off my list of places to go. But very offensive was the sale of Chanukah candles and menorahs made in China. CHINA! read more

Toto... we're not in Home Depot anymore. How do we know that? 1) HELPFUL people who work here. What a concept. People actually stopped me and asked me if I was finding what I was looking for, went to go look up the product for me, and SMILED at me. Who knew that customer service reps could provide.... customer service!!! 2) Selection and stock. Home Depot is always out of what I want. Probably b/c the one in Watertown is between Harvard, BU and BC campuses (campi?) but crap. You'd think they would stock up pre- 9/1. 3) Home delivery? Actually delivers INTO your home. At Home Depot, the delivery fee gets it to your front door and that's about it. At Lowes... they BRING IT INTO YOUR HOUSE. To where you actually want the item to live. I've had a mixed bag of results here. I really liked that they gave away pallets for free, which was awesome because I needed some pallets. The main knock I've had with them is that the store is enormous, and when you need to find someone, it's pretty tough. And they will generally point you to "aisle 13 or 14" and think they're done. Maybe it's partially that I'm not a do-it-yourself kinda guy but the associates rarely seem to know what I'm talking about, and I don't think I'm *that* unclear. But really, there's noone in this store. If you don't know what you want, and where it is, you could be wandering here for months. Just bring your string if you find the Minotaur. read more

I will never shop at Lowes again. The people are not knowledgable in their products and the managers are extremely rude to customers. Here's my story: I go and ask for two cans of white paint to paint my room in February. It's now May, when am ready to paint, I learn that I have a can of grey paint. What?! So I was handed the wrong paint. Okay. I go back to Lowes to return the paint, explain the situation and they denied me a refund or exchange or store credit. They rudely said there's nothing they can do. Even with the receipt, they argued that there's nothing they will do. The store manager rudely said, "You didn't see that it was grey paint?" I said "I never imagined I would be handed the wrong paint by your paint experts." I went to Home Depot and others agree that it's a wonder that the Lowes in Framingham is still open because it's widely known that customer service is absolutely terrible. Because of a $30 can of paint, you not only lost a lifetime customer but I told my whole family and all of my friends and they agree that maybe we should all take our business to a company who cares about their customers. read more

I really like this Lowe's. The staff are always very helpful and nice to deal with. I feel relaxed when I am in this store. I would go out of my way to come here versus HD. My only gripe is the lady who works for the Solar Company who always asks you if you can talk when you walk in. Its the same conversation each time "I have already explained to you the last ten time we spoke that solar will not work for my house". I know she is trying to make a buck, but there has to be a better way. Other than that, I love it here. read more

This really is a well organized store. I came in with a really esoteric need, and the Lighting guy KILLED himself to find me an easy fix to my problem. Basically, I bought a really cool light fixture at a yard sale (I think it used to be an outdoor light for a swanky restaurant or home)., and I wanted to rewire it for low voltage. This tickled the Lighting Guru, and he dug through a box of discounted lights, until he found what I needed. And, they cost me a buck each! Finding what I needed took him a boatload of time, but he happily went at the task. What a Guy! read more
