This store is absolutely pitiful. Don't custom order anything or they will bungle it. Customer service in this store does not know what they are doing. Numerous times when I spoke with them the person that I spoke with did not know the history of my order, so I had to tell them the whole story from the beginning. Still they were of no assistance. We have had the worst experience you can imagine during our most recent Lowe's purchase. Please read this before you decide to trust Lowe's to provide your home with an appliance. I have sworn by Lowe's for about 20 years, and wouldn't think of going elsewhere for similar products. That is until I recently ordered a washer/dryer combo when our previous washer died. Over a month ago, Lowe's came to our home, took our old washer/dryer combo and installed our new combo. I was at work during the delivery. My wife and 2 year old son were at home. We ordered everything new, including a flexible vent hose . The installer completed his install and asked my wife to take a look for her approval. She noticed that a new hose was not installed, and that our old hose was attached to the new dryer. She questioned the installer and was informed that "you're new hose wasn't in yet, but would be in the next day or so" Why the hell didn't he tell my wife that before he installed the old hose? She asked him if it was OK to do our laundry with our old hose hooked up. "Yes, I checked it out, it looks fine. Can your husband hook up the new hose when it comes in a day or two?" Well, it wasn't OK. During the first load of wash in the dryer my basement was on fire. My wife heard loud noises coming from downstairs and peaked her head down and saw flames. She grabbed my son, ran outside and called 911. Luckily my family is still alive and my house didn't burn to the ground. A police officer arrived instantly to put out the flames. As each day passed we would think to ourselves, Lowe's will contact us soon to take this shit and bring us new..... right? We were WRONG. Lowe's does not give a shit about us or anyone. To this day we have the fire damaged washer and dryer sitting in our basement. We've been through several fire investigations, and countless emails and phone conversations. Today we received a phone call from the 5th or 6th different Lowes person we have dealt with during this disaster saying basically this wasn't there fault because there was lint in the hose, and they aren't going to do anything for us. Basically, the moral of my story is screw Lowe's, and spend your hard earned money elsewhere, where they actually care. read more

I have been making purchases at this store since it opened and I have had perfect customer service and help with everything. I had a need for special doors for my apartments and the gentlemen at the counter for doors and windows found a solution for me quickly and helped me with everything I needed. read more

We are avid shoppers at the other big box store. However, when shopping for flooring Lowe's had exactly what we were looking for, and a great deal on installation. So we took a chance. Never again! Most of the guys in the flooring department were very helpful and knowledgeable. There was one guy, though, who I'm not even sure he knew he worked there. Anyway, we were trying to get our flooring installed before moving into our new house so we didn't have to, ya know, move everything in, then move it again for the flooring installation, then move it back... because how fun and exciting does that sound? Due to the ineptitude of Lowe's and one of their contractors, we got to experience that (sarcastic) fun and excitement. The first contractor came out and measured everything (incorrectly), told us a bunch of (mostly incorrect) stuff and promised the install could be done by a certain date (that didn't happen). Well, it didn't happen because he went AWOL. So we had to reschedule, and that took about 3 weeks. And then we had to wait for the 2nd contractor, which took another several weeks. All in all, it was a terrible experience. The 2nd contractor (who, mind you, didn't work for Lowe's) was almost the only one in the whole ordeal who seemed to care about customer service, professionalism and quality work. He was great, and the floors like amazing. Oh, here's my favorite part.. the guy who came to deliver the flooring dropped it off in the garage. This was a huge job with about 2000 square feet, so a lot of flooring. The night before the installation it occurred to me, and I asked my husband.. "Hey, isn't that stuff supposed to breath for at least 24 hours before it's installed?" This was January in PA, so more like 48-72 hours, I was told by our contractor. Lowe's never mentioned or recommended this. We paid for THEM to install it i.e. we shouldn't have to read instructions. But we happened to think of it, and then we got to carry in about that 2000 square feet of flooring ourselves, yay. We paid for the install for a reason. First world problems, I totally realize. This is just a cautionary tale to warn others of our adventures with the Lowe's flooring department and overall (pitiful) customer service. read more
