The person that gave me the quote showed the guys what I wanted and then he left them to work. The crew was here for about 2 hours exactly, and they did a good job, but I believe they make sure they run over to get you to pay the next hourly rate of $185. Needless to say, when I received the invoice, it was for 2 hours. A little more than what was discussed, and this was a pretty straight forward job. I've had them do work prior to this install, and same thing. Good work, but pricey if you ask me.

Approach the counter and their expert staff will have the answers you need. They carry Greenlee and Klein tools, which last a lifetime, much better than Husky or comparable brands. Colonial can supply wire, light fixtures, switches, faceplates, etc. they carry more vendors, have better experts on staff, and have better tools than Home Depot or Lowe's. If you are a do-it-yourself-we, this place is a must check out. Colonial has been my go to spot for electrical supplies and tools for years. I would recommend it to anybody.

The Olde Mill House Shoppes is two different buildings - the old stone house and an old barn - that have a wide selection of stuff that women love to shop like rugs, furniture, lighting, home decor, kitchen gadgets, pantry items, women's clothing and accessories. They also have a floral department that I think makes wreaths. My favorite part of the shoppes was the old stone house. Aside from admiring the lovely architecture I enjoyed looked at kitchen gadgets, kitchen decor, pantry items like bread mixes and such. I loved the creek of the floors too. It was a very charming experience. A lot of the furniture was definitely in the Shaker and colonial styles. The lighting section was amazing. Lots of early American inspired design lighting. I wasn't in the market for lighting so I moved on to other things. The rug section was fun to peruse. I saw they sold one of my favorite brands - Dash and Albert. They also had a lot of braided rugs. Regarding the clothing section in the refurbished barn, it wasn't really my style but it seemed like there were some regular customer in there having an absolute ball shopping for some new outfits. It kind of reminded me of the fun, comfy and colorful styles you might find at Chico's. Aside from the above, there was plenty more to look at like some linens, wall art, candles, etc. Overall, this was a fun place to explore and a great place to stop in while in Lancaster County.

When I called Jack Cunningham, the owner, he said to stop by with the fixtures so he could check them out. Jack fixed the problem while I waited which turned out to be a 20 yr accumulation of dead insects that had built up inside the bulb socket. It's rare today to find not only a well made product of superior quality and workmanship like Jack's light fixtures but also the excellent customer service that Jack provides. It's refreshing to find someone who still takes pride in their work and goes the extra mile for the customer. Thanks Jack!

A gentleman from Nolt Electric showed up to fix the front porch lights yesterday afternoon. I also had him fix one of the light fixtures in the in the meeting room that needed a new ballast and change a couple of lights that were out in the reading room. He was putting away the "good" light tubes and overheard two staff members talking about a leak in the mechanical room. The plumber had recently left for the day unable to complete the job since it required a special part. The bucket we were using to capture the drips was filling super-fast at that point. So, we were discussing the logistics of keeping it manageable while the Library was open and turning off the water when we closed. So about an hour later, around 6:30, the super electrician shows back up with a bucket/hose combo to move the water from the leak to the floor drain. The bucket was too tall....so he took it back to cut it down to size. Super Electrician to the rescue!! What a GUY!! I was so very impressed. It speaks volumes for the man and the company he works for - They exemplify "service above self"!

At Home is a GIANT store of things you probably don't need but won't be able to leave without. You'll find outdoor furniture and smaller pieces of indoor furniture. You'll find every imaginable color of linen shelved floor to ceiling. You'll find something to hang on every wall and to place on every flat surface. Then there's lots of random stuff that you can't live without. Yes, it's easy to get lost here and yes, it's easy to spend your whole paycheck. The prices are actually very reasonable but it's the abundance of choices that will empty your wallet. The Lancaster At Home is the carbon copy of every other At Home that I have visited. What stood out to me was our checkout experience. The cashier was so helpful, she was patient with my mom's questions and, with me pushing my mom in a wheelchair, she even helped us carry out our purchases. This was my mom's first visit to At Home and she loved it. I know from now on, it will be on our agenda when I'm in town visiting.
