Stephen came right away when we needed help finding a ceiling fan that was listed as in stock. He went above and beyond trying to locate the stock that was showing in store. After some digging he determined that the store didn't have fan and so he had his boss place an order with free shipping for us. That was very nice and we appreciated the value of this option. August 4th update. They said they would only give me a refund with a 20% restocking fee. For a $6,602.74 shed that was never delivered, installed, etc. No. I will not pay for items I do not have/was never given. Do not shop at Lowe's. They steal from their customers. Then they refuse to give refunds. Then they try to steal further money for items that they never delivered as a "compromise". They tried to get me to sign a release form. We actually had a pretty good experience at Lowe's today. We are planting a small garden for the first time and needed supplies. Most of what we needed was all placed outside in their garden shop. We picked up tomato, cucumber and pepper plants. Fencing to ward off squirrels, chemical spray to ward off insects, a trellis and some soil. The girl at the counter in the garden shop didn't really know much but she was willing to ask other employees and search her phone for the location of the items we could not readily find. She was helpful. We also purchased a clay pot to transplant our catcus. They didn't have a huge selection but we did find one we like that will work. All in all it was an easy trip, got everything we were looking for and wete in and out. Prices were like all prices (high) but i assume within today's normal. Plenty of parking, plenty of carts of varying sizes to meet your needs. read more

I placed an order for pickup a day ago and it's still not ready. Currently trying to call the store again and I've now been waiting for service desk for 23 minutes. The item in stock is almost an hour drive to this store and I can't seem to get any answers from Lowe's AI, Customer service or even get ahold of anyone at this store. First of all, let me state that I am a woman with a concept for an outdoor project but no idea what supplies I needed. My coworker was raving about her pick up experience at this Lowe's location. A product I was looking for was available for pick up so I placed my order using the Lowe's app. I received an email that my order was ready for pick up so I headed to the store. On our arrival there was a large tented area with numbered pick up spots. I did notice a line to enter the store and was thankful that I placed my pick up order online. I was about to call the number to notify staff of my arrival when Debra appeared out of nowhere. Debra was wearing a camouflage vest.... no wonder I couldn't see her coming. She took down my name and order number to radio into the store. Less than 10 minutes after collecting my information Debra showed up with my order and paper receipt. This location is not the closest to our home but I will be back after this positive experience. Debra was a star employee during our drive up experience on 04-24-2020. Lowe's is my preference over Home Depot. It just seems that it is easier to get help. However Home Depot seems to be cheaper usually so I find myself torn between both places. This particular location is over off Preston by the movie theatre. I'm wondering how the addition of menards coming soon will affect this place. I have gone to Lowe's for several of my home projects in the past, including landscaping needs and appliances. The staff is always nice and helpful. On our most recent visit my husband and I were looking for a new washer and dryer. Margie , who was working the department, was super nice and helpful in answering our questions and picking out what would best support our needs. They were impacted by some of the supply issues, but we were able to purchase a dryer. We got our product delivered. We received a call the night before with the delivery window and then a call about 15 minutes before they arrived at our house. The delivery guys were polite and efficiently took set up the new dryer and took our previous one. It made the whole process non-stressful on our part. I look forward to continuing shopping at Lowe's as we move into spring and for future home needs. read more

With the nicer weather lately, I've been working on cleaning out my flower beds. I underestimated the amount of mulch I needed so when I headed to the store - I had a single goal in mind. With the social distancing, there was a bit of a line to get in but the employees were handling the line with ease. Lowe's was one of the first places I experienced that were practicing a "one out, one in" policy. They were also making sure that it was one person per family (unless it was within the guidelines). I got through the line to get into the store quickly and headed to the garden center. I paid for my mulch quickly and was out of the store in less than 10 minutes. I drove my car to the loading area and the guys had my mulch loaded quickly as well. All in all, even with social distancing guidelines, I was in and out in about 15 minutes. I hate leaving bad reviews but this guy was so bad that I just have to. Unfortunately, this is not because of the Lowe's store, but an employee named Brian in the plumbers department. For a while I have been doing research on how to remove my garbage disposal and return my sink into a regular drain. I was preparing and trying to pump myself up to do it. Well, the day finally came. I took pictures of everything under my sink so I could show someone what I was wanting to do and it could better help them pick out what I needed as far as pipes. Brian was paged to help me out. I showed him the pictures and he picked out the pipes that I so-called needed. Immediately, the pipes looked strange to me because it didn't look like those would go with what I needed so I told him several times that it didn't look like that went with my sink and I tried showing him my pictures again. So, finally he gave me another bag to go with the one he gave me and said if these don't help you can always bring them back. I said to myself, well, maybe once I take it out of the bag maybe it would make more sense to me since he should know more than me for when it comes to this. So, then he said you're good to go. I stated, well, don't I need a drain? He hands me the drain, again, "you're good to go." Me: don't I need some type of plumbers putty? He starts looking for the putty (little did I know that when I got home ready to use the putty, I realised that he gave me soldering paste instead). Me: am I not going to need some type of pvc saw to cut the pipe incase the pipes are too long? Brian; "No, that's why I gave you the other bag, that should have everything you need." Me: yeah, but shouldn't I get a saw just incase?" Brian: you're good to go. Of coarse when I get home the only thing that was correct out of everything he sold me was the drain. I was so irritated. I ended up rushing to Home Depot to see if someone there could help me. I showed the guy the picture and he gave me everything I needed. I was able to get it together and of coarse I took the pipes back to Lowe's and got my money back. I would rather someone say, I am sorry, I just don't know verses just handing me stuff. I've never had issues at lowes but someone needs to seriously talk to that man. He was horrible. And I hate that I wasted so much time and I even had pictures to make things easier and that man was pretty much just giving me whatever and kept telling me I was good to go. 2 thumbs down. read more

My 4 yr old nephew is obsessed with Halloween decorations! So today, my mom and I took him into Lowe's to look at stuff. Plus, it gives mom a reason to buy more decorations lol. They were actually in the process of putting stuff out! We saw a few things and one of the employees noticed us. He turned the stuff around that he was putting together so my nephew could see it. He was working on the skeleton band! He then stopped what he was doing, found a box with the drummer in it, and opened him up to show my nephew!! From Flooring, doors, Bath supplies showers, toilets, buildings supplies of lumber, drywall, sinks, fans, lights to complete my fully finished addition. Each department offers ( In store purchases) Lowe's offers installation with licensed contractors for job to large or for inexperienced home handy person. My past experience installers performed professionally to my satisfaction and cleaned the work area before leaving. Always helpful service. Each Dept has it own dedicated specialized employees to help you find and answer questions. Today I stopped in for electrical supplies. The representative showed me special needs. Prices are fair. Easy self checkout. Ample parking they also offer curb side delivery service. Contractors and bulk purchases use a separate checkout area and is available for large loading services. I grew up in Army housing so there wasn't a whole bunch of home improvement we could do so I didn't learn a great deal growing up. Whenever I go into a hardware store I feel like I'm on a Star Trek away team, in the red shirt. I really appreciate this Lowe's because I am woefully ignorant of all the things involved in maintaining a home but the people who work there are never crappy about it. Sometimes at the hardware store people aren't as forgiving of novices. I used to teach so the best way to explain it is this: they deal well with stupid people, and deliver them from their own stupidity, without making the person feel stupid and they don't draw attention to your stupid. They just set you right and on your way. They've saved me from several home improvement disasters with a well-placed suggestion or an admonition that I'd be having a bad day otherwise. My parents and I actively disagree about which Lowes to frequent but this is my home improvement spot. read more

I generally prefer Home Depot to Lowe's but you can find a ton of things at much lower prices at Lowe's. I've likely been to all the hardware stores in the Louisville area and they all differ slightly. It could be the layout, the size, items they carry, the size of their garden section, or a list of other things. A few years ago when I started frequenting stores like this, I almost bought one of the sheds and started moving in. There were times I was making three to four trips to one of these stores in a day because I'd forget something or finish a project and need to head back. I've been on the search for a specific type of fencing(for a garden). They had that fencing literally just two years ago. They still have that fencing but not in the color I need! With that, I've been frolicking around the city to all of the hardware stores trying to find the color I need. That brings me to this Lowe's. Springtime in Louisville and it was starting to get cloudy. The rain was coming and I needed a change of scenery so I went out of my way to visit this Lowe's. I think this Lowe's might be a little smaller than others. It's definitely cleaner than other locations. It was also noticeable that the layout varied at this location. I've been in other uniform hardware stores where they change the layout and it's completely backward from another store. While the layout was different here, it wasn't confusing. As silly as it might sound, it was refreshing. It was almost like experiencing a new Lowe's all over again. Of course, there are times when I want to go to Lowe's or any other hardware store that's three miles away from my house. Those trips will happen... often. There are other times where I want to leave and stay gone awhile. This Lowe's is perfect for that. There are also other places to visit in that part of town. Right across from Lowe's, it looks like they're about to start building something else too. If you want to kill some time while shopping for your home needs, make the trip to this Lowe's. read more

Can I just say, how refreshing our visit to this Lowes was?! And on "Black Friday" at that! Having had dealt with THE WORST customer service at Lowes and Home Depot for the past 6 month in Baltimore, MD we were blown away but the team at this location. Back in MD the employees will run away if they see you eying them. If you ask them a question they never know how to answer it. But at this Lowes we were promptly greeted at the front door by friendly Cheryl. Then as we browsed the store we were ask no less than 4 times if we needed any assistance. One guy saw us go by twice and actually said, "Are you STILL doing okay?" Like, he actually acknowledged that he saw us twice. Wow, just wow. Thank you for just being friendly. Typical Lowes...... I'm at this location at least once a week since it's close by. I've found its really hit and miss depending on who is working in what area at the time your there. I've had some cranky employees, employees who probably don't know what day it is, and I've had employees that can answer my questions and will go out of their way for anyone. So I've got mixed feelings and issues with the folks in that store. Getting in and out of the large parking lot is easy and the store always seems to be well stocked and clean. I posted several pics so you can check it out. Large kitchen appliance area, plenty of tile to choose from, lots of lawn and garden equipment and supplies and the lumber is well stocked. The tool area is large with a nice selection and Lowes now carries the Craftsman line. The area I've consistently noticed where the employees are always friendly, knowledgeable and working hard is the paint area. And it's always a girl working that area. I've gotten plenty of paint over the past 2 yrs including the big 5 gallon buckets, and those girls move them around quite well, they also know what they are doing!!!...... The downside is the staff is not always helpful or knowledgeable and this location does not always have a lot of items in stock. But, it is close to home and so we come here a lot. This home improvement warehouse feels like the largest of it's kind in the Louisville area. It is certainly the largest Lowes store and most likely larger than any of The Home Depot stores. For that reason, this is a good store to visit with the others don't have that one thing you are looking for. Good: One of the first stores of this type to have a dedicated area for returns and exchanges. The area can be accessed without entertain the main part of the store--very good layout and organization. Bad: It's a popular store and there is only one way in and one way out... it can become very congested. Plus, from double turning lanes on southbound Preston Hwy, only ONE lane provides access. I visited this lowes to purchase a few basic needs for my home while I was in the area. On the list was furnace filters, light bulbs, wood screws, an extension cord, and a leaf blower. I found the empty box for the furnace filters that I needed and set forth to find an employee to help me get some that were up on the top shelf down of the ones that I needed. I encountered many employees and they all were friendly enough, but none of them wanted to own the situation and seemed to pass me off to another employee who passed me off to another employee... on the 6th employee... the young man climbed the shelves without getting a ladder and just dropped the box down on the concrete before climbing down off the shelves. I'm sure that this was at least a half dozen OSHA violations right there. I found my light bulbs, my extension cord and leaf blower... but couldn't find the specific wood screws I needed. Once the pass the customer scenario started playing out again I gave up on the wood screws. Go to the checkout the extension cord that I picked out was a 50 footer for $9.99.... There were dozens of them back there in the $9.99 slot and it rang up for $24.99. Needless to say after a lot of argument (and I felt like I was accused of moving the product) they gave it to me for $9.99. I won't be back to this store... the employees that I did encounter on the floor were nice, but the one on the cash register seemed to have a chip on her shoulder. Granted, it was a busy Mother's Day weekend, but after waiting in a long line in the garden center to buy a single tree, we were told by the cashier that the line was closed. This was announced as we stepped up, not as we got into the long long line. Who manages their customers that way? I have had the worst service from this store I have experienced in my adult lifetime. I purchased doors. Front entry, front storm, and back door with installation. The project started in October of 2018. I have had so many problems with the purchase, it is only today 6/2019 that I have the issue resolved and when I say resolved I only mean they gave a minimal refund of $150 and I still have a storm door that is NOT installed properly. I am so tired of dealing with the issue that the door is going to stay the way it is which is very unfortunate to have to settle for less than perfect when you make a purchase this large. I wish I could tell every detail of this horror story but you would get tired of reading this review before I finished. I will NEVER choose Lowe's for any installation project again and I caution anyone before choosing Lowe's for your project as well. If I could give less than one star I would definitely do so. Their products have been fine thus far. I ordered a new toilet and sink for bathroom last month.I had to order a $450 water heater this month and my complaint is the same with both orders.I ordered the water heater on May 3 rd, of course, NO free delivery but even for pick up I cant get it until May 18 th. I am disabled and have to pay people or get shipping. Last month I paid $59 for shipping of sink and toilet and still had to wait two weeks for that.I live not even five minutes from the store.You would think with an almost 500 purchase u would get free delivery. When I walked into Lowe's I was in a great mood. By the time I walked out without my items I was so angry that I was shaking. At the cash register, I told the cashier Debbie, that I had two bags of concrete in my cart, but I only wanted the smaller one. I could not lift the bigger one back out of my cart and there was no one around to help me. She very hatefully stated, "Well it doesn't matter one of them have to come back out." And it went downhill from there. I can honestly say that I have never had anyone yell at me like she did except when I was in boot camp. When I said something to the manager, he just wanted to get someone else to ring me up. I felt that he was afraid of her. I called corporate and still nothing. We used this Lowe's when we built our house 14 years ago and we are going to begin remodeling over the next couple of years. I will take my business to Home Depot where I went that day and they offered plenty of help. If I can't find it there, I will find it online. The absolute lack of response from corporate will keep me from going to any Lowe's. I have never reviewed any other establishment before, but this experience was so horrifying that I felt compelled to write this one. read more
