We stopped in, being from out of state, just to see if they had different plants that what we see at home. The answer was no, they didn't, matter of fact their selections were very limited. The house plant section was half the size of what we see in Texas, which is odd, seeing how Louisiana is more a tropical state than where we are, so theses houseplants would thrive even outdoors here, which we see in peoples yards everywhere. Where the locals get their plants we will have to find out, as it's not from this Lowes. This one is considerably smaller than the ones we normally see. I'm guessing it's because of the location and how it seems land is very limited. Tho this location looks like it's been here for a very long while. I have been trying to purchase a doorknob but needed the lock keyed. Apparently, this is a skill only two employees possess. First time I am told neither employee is there. Second time, one employee is there but he can't rekey this type of lock but the absent employee can. Third time, the second employee is there but in a meeting. She will be available in one hour. One hour later, I'm back for the fourth time. The second employee has been sighted numerous times by other employees and called repeatedly. After 20 minutes I'm told she is still "on call" but is trying to locate a third employee who may be able to do it. Ten minutes later I'm told "everyone is swamped" and no one would be able to help. I am giving two stars because every employee who walked by offered to help and called the second employee. In addition, Lowe's has no email to contact management and calling to speak with anyone is a one way ticket to automated voice hell if you are fortunate enough to not be disconnected. read more

So I have to wait a few days to RECEIVE the faucet and then have to make appointment for installation. PS. My local store didn't have faucet so it was to be delivered. They were aware of this. I bought an item that they only allow a 48hr return window for on Christmas Eve and it turned out to be the wrong thing. I don't frequent Lowe's. There are other options closer to my home. I did find myself in the Metairie Lowe's about a month ago and noticed a washer/dryer set that caught my eye had just gone off of sale 2 days prior. I didn't worry myself as I didn't need a new one at that moment. Fast forward to this past Monday 8/7/23. I'm in a temporary house while mine is repaired from Ida. I sold my old set because they were old and the temporary place has a set. I'm staying here a month and the washer stops working. This was Sunday 8/6. In a full panic I get on the local sales ads. I see that this Lowe's , which is really close to where I'm staying , had ONE in stock. I walked through the doors at 6:00 am sharp. I was getting that washer. I waited for 1/2 hour and repeatedly asked the operator to send an associate. I waited 1/2 hour and nothing. Nobody. I then asked an associate to send over whatever Manager they had. This would've been a completely different review had my saving Grace not arrived 3 minutes later. The Assistant Mgr , Daniel the epitome of what a store manager should be!! He asked how he could help. I could see he was already having a Monday and I completely understand. I worked for their orange competitor in 2 states. This guy listened to me tell him that I've been waiting 1/2 hr to buy a washer. He said "No Problem. I'll confirm stock and we'll get your washer loaded up right now.". That's exactly what he did. He opened that appliance computer to verify and HE got on a machine and got it from the back and brought it up for me. He rung me up right where I was sitting. He pointed out that there was an additional $75 off if I bought the set. I needed a set in 2 months anyway so I said "SOLD!". His work ethic is why this review is 5 stars. He went the extra mile and made $900 worth of additional sales. I just went in there for the washer. Without people like this guy , the store is just a give it your best shot like all the rest. This man deserves recognition for his effort. The Store Managers name is on the receipt, but this Asst. Mgr. really made my panic attack end up as a pleasant experience. I have spent a good bit of time at Lowes in the past year and must say that they carry a great selection of home improvement inventory and their prices are pretty decent. It's a ginormous store, and I have trouble finding personnel to help me occasionally. Other than that, it's a great resource if you're renovating, repairing or building. I utilize their garden center regularly as well. They not only carry plants, and everything to keep them healthy, but they also carry pool supplies, decking materials, and decorative outdoor accent pieces. We went in the store today to purchase a toilet and bathroom vanity. Ire assisted us and she was excellent! I placed the order to be picked up in a couple of days by my son. We went to my rental and measured just to double check and the toilet was the incorrect size. We drove back to Lowe's and went to customer service where JuJu was working with a phone customer. Ire just happened to walk by and saw us.. she immediately stopped and asked if all was ok as she was going to lunch! The fact that she stopped to check on us was stellar! She then explained to JuJu what we needed to do and even remembered the correct bar code as we had looked at both earlier.. As I was attempting to repair my washing machine after watching YouTube videos, I needed a ratchet set. So, I headed over to Lowes. I purchased what I needed only to discover there are levels to this stuff. I did not realize that I needed to build the tools. I watched the video again and cued it to the part where the guy said exactly what size I needed for each piece. Then I returned to Lowes with the other items and my receipt for a return which was easy. Then I asked if someone could assist me in my selection so I would get it right. The kind lady summoned David (I think his name was) to meet me in the tool section. I explained my dilemma and showed him the video and he took the time to help me get exactly what I needed. He even saved me $20 from what I had spent before and I ended up with a whole ratchet set and not just 3 parts. This time I even used self check out and I was able to enter my info so that if I lost my receipt and needed to return, my purchase would be easy to pull up. My washer is now working properly and I don't have to buy a new one. Winner, winner, chicken dinner! read more

Maybe it's because I was here on a Sunday evening, but while folks answered my questions (mostly about where stuff was located), no one was really helpful. I stopped in this location because I thought there might be a better selection of certain items (closet storage and lamps) and while there was more overall stock, it still wasn't what I was looking for. Oh well. The hunt continues. I was so pleased with my experience today at Lowe's. I had to ask for help finding a specific product because I could not find it anywhere. The worker I asked for help found where exactly the item was located, and then she brought me to it and stayed with me for a few minutes to answer all my questions. She did not rush me along like so many do, and I was quite impressed! I got everything I needed and on the way out another worker asked if I needed help to the car because I had a huge bag of soil. He helped me load up the trunk. (((This is a big deal because I can't tell you how many times I go other places and have big heavy items and the workers just look at me like, oh she can get it.))) My boyfriend and I were walking and a group of workers and a customer are standing in a circle and one of the workers was talking and using his hands as he was talking, he stretched out his arm with his phone in his hand and as we were walking my boyfriends shoulder and the workers phone touched. Cashiers all on their cell phones. Employees unwilling or unable to help me find a specific product. Original: Another failed delivery on an item they had 20 in stock of. Bad communication on delivery attempt, no communication on refund. No refund on delivery charges. No way to get anybody on the phone. I'll be opening a credit card charge back next. Horrible. The employees here are always helpful. If you compare Lowe's to the other home improvement store in the area, I give the edge to Lowes. They seem more specialized. I went the other day to have some glass cut. Who knew that anyone could cut glass without having to go to a glass store. They didn't charge me to have the cuts made, and the guy was super nice and professional. The customer service has always been great. I have zero complaints about this store save two..... #1- I buy plants here often, and about half the time (and I mean 50%) they die. This means if I buy a flat of petunias, half of them will die. I am not sure why, but the quality of the plants seems to be inconsistent. #2 - One time I was climbing on one of those blue ladder things and they made me get down. I was really bummed. If you are like me, one trip is not enough to get all the things you need for said project and you will most likely make another trip to get the things you didn't know that you needed the first time around. What we wanted was on back order at the other chain, but was in a Lowe's warehouse somewhere and they could get it for us by the end of the week. That may for an easy decision. We ordered it. I then pull the wagon graciously provided by the store, to the only register with a person there, since there are no bar codes on most of the items. For the second time I placed an online order and had issues. The first time they said they hadn't received the order even though online it said it was in progress. Had to wait 45 minutes for them to find my order and then pull the one item I ordered. Using their "convenient" in store pick up cost me more time than if I walked in and pulled it myself. Placed an almost $1,000 order for hurricane preparedness supplies thinking that it might go better. Waited all day yesterday to get the notification it was ready for pick up. When I called the store, the "customer service specialist" said she was the only person working and had a long line. She would figure out why my order hadn't been pulled an call me back with a time to pick it up. Never heard back. Checked it today and it was cancelled. Called the store again to find out what happened and they said I was notified of cancellation (not true). They didn't want to pull the large order so they just cancelled it. Understaffed (apparently); the system doesn't work (or the employees don't know how to use it; and no follow up. I'll be taking my business to The Home Depot, which actually offers the same service and so far hasn't been a hassle. Bottom line: Lowe's on Vets doesn't know how to use their online ordering system, and their customer service is poor and doesn't follow up. The least they could have done is take my order over the phone. Didn't even offer to do that. The store manager and customer service supervisor should be fired at this location. read more

Not sure where to start with this horrible experience... we are purchasing a home and wanted to have Lowe's out to measure and install new carpet on our close to the date we were closing. On our first visit to Lowe's it took around 30 minutes before some one came over to assist us. A nice lady from the cabinet dept passed by and assisted us with setting up an appointment for Lowe's to go out to take measurements. Mind you this took back and forth coordination with the seller for a good date and time... we agreed on Thursday between 12 and 5. We went back to Lowe's on Friday to follow up and select carpet, this time it took about 20 mins before we got assistance. She told us it takes 48 hours before the measurements would be rec'd but we could go ahead and make carpet selections since we knew what we wanted. She would add to our request. Our 3rd trip was the following Monday.. we waited about 20 mins for someone to assist. A man looked our information on the system, said our measurements weren't available (even though it's over 48 hours at this point). He went to look into it further and NEVER CAME BACK!!!! After about 30 minutes we left. We called the seller of the house and he saidNO ONE CALLED HIM FROM LOWES!!! I'm sure this will end up working out but the customer service at this location is HORRIBLE. Y'all need to do better and improve your customer service. read more

In general I am a big fan of Lowe's; but be careful if you purchase something from a third party who just happens to be showing their products in the Lowe's store. I met and made an appointment for a big Generac generator last year and it turned out to be NIGHTMARE. They took months longer than contracted to install the product and Lowe's said they had no liability since it was a separate company; even they let the company have space inside their store.
