What a disaster. We had to fix our hardwood floors after the purchase of our home and ended up dropping more than $2000 at Lowe's on flooring. We ordered everything online and were promised the 15th of Sept. We call to verify the flooring was there, and they inform us that the molding we ordered was in fact back ordered until October. We spoke to several workers and managers with no offer to rectify the situation, but instead are resigned to pick up the flooring and wait for the molding pieces. Luckily, our contractor offered to come back a second time to put in the molding. We get to the store to pick up our flooring and are told the flooring is also backordered! I don't know how many people we spoke to and no one mentioned this tidbit, not to mention WE had to call to get the info that the molding was backordered. We have no flooring, made a wasted trip, and no one has a solution but to agree that, yeah, that's real inconvenient for ya. We talked to Bonnie specifically who I'm sure is a nice lady but was of no help at all. No one has any answers, no means of rectifying our situation. Awful customer care. And Lowe's says gee, that's too bad. Don't bother with this store if you have a timeline. What a waste of time. Update: Rosemary at the Lowes in Mount Pleasant called 5 people in front of us said she can get our flooring straight from the manufacturer in 7 days. We will see if that actually happens, but it's worth noting that after wading through a mess of people who seemingly had no clue of what was going on with the system, she stepped up and helped us. I am editing my review to 2 stars, tentatively. At least someone attempted to help us, which we were grateful for. She was kind, helpful and apologetic. read more

I was not in the door 2 minutes, and somebody approached me and asked if he could help me. Awesome! I declined because I knew what I needed (shocking) and where to find (even more shocking), so schlepped on down the aisle. A second person approached me and asked if I needed help finding something. Wow, what gives? This is great because I almost never know what the heck I am looking for, what it might be called other than 'thingy,' and really have no idea where to begin looking for said thingy. I am thrilled at the level of customer service I received, and can only hope that on my next visit, I get as many offers to assist. We bought a gas grill before Memorial Day and paid for assembly and delivery. They had one already assembled and said they would reserve it for us. When delivery day came, they had none available because they had sold ours. When I complained to customer service about their ruining our holiday event, they totally ignored me. read more

Sure glad that there are Lowe's out there. Really kind of hard to order some of the stuff you get here online because you need it now, not later and you need to touch it. This store is pretty well laid out and we found good help with what we were looking for. We needed 6 of an item that there was supposedly only 5 and the service person found a stray one in another bin! That was very nice for us. We normally hit up the James Island store but were in Mt P already so tried this place out. I think I prefer this one as far as getting help. The James Island Store seems like an impossible place to find assistance when you need it. read more

I always dread coming here because I always see home decor I need!! This store has everything you could possibly want to enable you to complete those home projects. I didn't know what I needed to hang some wall vases the other day as I'm not very Martha Stewart like!! So I took my things in & let them do the hard work. They sure did. Ed from hardware spent about 30 minutes with me helping me find the hardware & showing me how to complete the project. Awesome service & patience with a customer who has limited skill or experience in these matters. So don't be scared of those projects, take your items in there & ask for help with them. Be prepared to spend at least an hour browsing all the different sections, from great plants to kitchens, bathrooms etc. read more

I was confused during my recent visit to Lowe's. I wasn't sure if I was at a home improvement store or a dog park. I don't appreciate dogs sniffing me while I'm shopping or having to avoid all of the leashes. Why on earth would someone need to bring a dog to a home improvement store. I can understand a pet store but a home improvement store? Don't get me wrong, I'm a dog lover but what are you people thinking? God forbid someone trips over a leash or gets bitten (dogs are animals not human) or even slips on poop or pee. If that happens Lowe's will have a major lawsuit. Keep your dogs at home! read more

This Lowes is set up like every other Lowes I've been to. Very open and has lots of items to choose from. I came in looking for black plasti-dip in the paint section. When I got to the paint section, their ground stock was empty. There was no one around to help out and the rest of the workers had their hands full. I then left to check another store. Just to double check, I went on the Lowes website and they said they did have stock, so I went back to check the top shelves. Low and behold, it was on the top shelf. Eventually, I found a worker that grabbed a box on the top shelves. I really wish they would have stocked their paint beforehand so I wouldn't have to come back a second time to get it. They offer a 10% military discount, which is nice and odd for a big store to offer it. read more

I go to Lowes pretty often as its close and convenient. I know the store well and they have most things I need. I would concur with a previous poster that it is sometimes tough to find help if you go on weekends cuz the place is packed! They are open later than the Ace and True Value so often it's the only option for tools and hardware. They often have deals in the isle straight when you walk in and opened/torn bags of mulch and dirt can be found. read more

I made the mistake of buying plants from Lowes, and I'm in the business!! It was convenient to the job so we purchased 500$ worth and most were from Monrovia, a high end grower that supplies to Lowes . The plants looked good above the pot however 75% of the root balls were non existent. Monrovia had moved smaller material up in containers and sold to Lowes when the plant material root ball had not matured and filled the new pot/container I called just as a courtesy to inform the garden department and the DEPARTMENT MANAGER could have cared less. He told me to keep my that the plants are guaranteed for a year. Btw their Pinestraw is terrible and over priced, BUY LOCAL , when it comes to plant material and mulch !!!!!! read more

This place borders on why do I go there? There outside contractors could care less about Lowe's business. Told the mgr. I will never hire anyone of their installers/workmen as 2 times I had to ask why no one called me to do the work, and never getting a straight answer.....The last nightmare was buying a water heater and no one even trying to set up a date to install it....hello? I have no hot water!!! Ended up getting some one from Angies list, who in 2 days did it all.....The mgr. kind of shrugged his shoulders when I went to get my deposit back...thanks, but no thanks. read more

Our experience with the Window Department turned out to be a nightmare. It took for them 4 months to replace only one window after a sequence of mistakes and lies. And at the end of the process the job is not completely done yet. Store manager is impossible to find by phone and we still have everything unfinished since blinds now do not fit properly in the new window. They do not take responsibility for that and they want to fix it with a $100 store gift card, being that the blinds were upgraded by them time ago at a much higher price. We do not know what else to do. Please, stay away from them. read more

The past two times I've visited this store it has been miserable. Takes an hour to find 3 items because it takes 30 minutes to find someone who can actually help. And when you finally find them, it's as if you are a huge nuisance to them; like Shirley in the kitchen section. Really not a fan of this Lowe's location at all! The customer service at this store is the worst. First I go into buy a $2000 refrigerator and the sales person is oogling a Mt. P. soccer mom that is there; he was checking out her ass as she left the store. Then he finally decides to help me out with no friendly greeting or anything. I guess my booty wasn't as nice as the soccer mom's before me. Anyway, I order the refrigerator and set it up to be delivered in 2 weeks; thank goodness my fridge was completely broken at home. So 2 weeks pass by and call to find out about the delivery and they tell me it'll be another month. A freakin' month! So I explain how it has been 2 weeks since I bought the refrigerator and how I need it delivered ASAP, so they promised to deliver the following week. The day it is suppose to be delivered Lowe's called to let us know that our refrigerator is all set for deliver the next week!!! I call back and talk to a manager that promises over and over that it will be delivered the next day. The next day went by with no refrigerator; then the next. So I go into the store the next day to cancel the delivery and get a refund. The customer service desk workers were not friendly at all; they actually acted like it was inconvenience to give me a refund. I may use Lowe's again, but it is worth the drive to James Island or West Ashley for the better customer service. read more

Wish I could give it negative stars. Walked the store for an hour. Never acknowledged by any of the 400 employees standing around. Searched through lighting and electrical and one man was on the computer and never looked up or said a word to me. The other man was talking to another man the entire time and I couldn't get any help. Finally the conversation ended between the employee and the other man and he(the employee) made eye contact with me. I told him I needed some help. He told me that he could help me in a few minutes and walked away. The other man on the computer just stood there. After waiting a few minutes I finally asked myself what I was doing. Worst customer service. Cashiers don't appear trained in the lowes credit card 5% off. Reps in the blinds department don't know their own ordering software. I had to come back 3 times until Larry was there for help completing an order that was already entered in the system. Bottom line there isn't any competition in mount pleasant and most of the smaller shops don't have everything you need. So, you either go here or drive an hour round trip to go somewhere else. read more

My husband is a contractor and shops this store a lot! Today he needed me to pick up some lumber supplies for a job because he could not. I'm very construction illiterate, if there is such a thing and had to bring in my three rowdy sons. As I was meandering through the scary lumber section store employee Mark asked me if I needed any help. I immediately felt sorry for him because I knew I was about to monopolize a ton of his time. Mark helped me to decipher my husbands Chinese character-like writing and put it into motion. Yaaaay Mark! Mark was the ONLY guy working that department and had many customers that also needed his skills. Mark was able to multi-task and help everyone. I wanted to put in a good word for him through the store manager but none could be reached. The reason why I bumped one star off was because some highly creepy man was snapping pictures of Mark cutting my lumber with his cell phone (with my kids nearby). He didn't have a name tag so I don't know what that was about and wish a store manager was available to speak with about it... Anyway Thank you Mark! I hope somebody important reads this and gives you the accolades that you deserve! read more

Also, online they constantly show items to be in stock that are, in fact, not in stock. And to make matters worse, when another store has the item that they don't have, they refuse to transfer it. When the person answered the phone the employee I was working with, which happened to be the manager, said he doesnt understand why they call it Mt Pleasant because that person surely was not pleasant. Update; It took Lowe's over 5 months to finely deliver my Over the Range Microwave I ordered only to find out they cant install it because there are no studs to hang it from but 5 months ago I told them ( Lowe's on James Island ) and showed them photos so I would not have this problem. I was asked by the Store Manager " If they cant hang the Microwave how did they hang the Cabinets " ? I could only reply " Good Question ". Still having Leaking Problems and the Store Manager and the Install Sales Department seem to want to pin everything on me. Customer Service is non existing with Lowes. What a Joke. read more
