LOWES in New Bern NC is not a competent store to deal with, and they need to learn that an apology is only good if it is sincere. This store delivered incorrect fence parts, then LOWES falsely promised me several times that the correct fence parts have been ordered. The fence installers were only able to set two correct end posts and one corner post in concrete....the uninstalled gate is correct but all the panels are wrong. I ordered my fence in late winter and was assured that it would be installed soon since I was ahead of the later orders that were placed by other customers in late spring. Now the very pleasant fence installer is booked solid 6 days a week until July and will do his best to work my project in....if or when I finally receive the correct parts from LOWES. After about three weeks of false promises I recently listened to a phone message that indicates the correct fence parts have been ordered. Evidently the delay ordering the correct parts was because LOWES never came to my home to pick up the incorrect parts. I requested LOWES take away the incorrect parts from the very day I learned from the fence installers that most of the parts were incorrect. LOWES in New Bern has scheduled a truck to pick up the incorrect parts three times, and I selected YES to the automated system request to do the pick up three times, but so far LOWES has stood me up with a no show three times. I have expressed to a project coordinator, store employees, truck scheduler, and LOWES national corporate customer service representatives that I am sickened by their scripted line "on behalf of LOWES I apologize for ______." and then fill in the blank for whatever was their latest goof or false promise. It now comes down to a matter of integrity and competence was to whether or not LOWES will do the right things. I have mentioned to customer service and several other LOWES employees that the fence is partly for my home security since I had a lot of tools stolen from my shed, a second attempt one night when someone was trying to force open the shed door, and that same evening that person tried to force open the sliding door to my sunroom. I have waited 6 months for my HOA to do home repairs along the rear of my townhouse/gutter and damaged wood around the shed door and supposedly those repairs were to begin this week....but the HOA repairmen cannot access the area they need to do the work because of the pallet of incorrect fence parts that LOWES will not pick up. I am handicapped and have to struggle to reach my large trash can and large recycle container on the other side of the LOWES pallet. My AC serviceman could not perform the annual spring cleaning of my unit because the pallet of LOWES incorrect fence materials was in his way. No one at LOWES is demonstrating an appropriate level of caring and they continually express meaningless apologies. What we need in New Bern, NC is a HOME DEPOT so this LOWES store will not feel so overwhelmed with customers when they put callers on hold for extremely long periods of time. What I need is for LOWES to pick up the incorrect fence parts, deliver the correct fence parts, and let us all pray the very nice installers have time to come back to complete the work they started for my fence. read more

Very unprofessional to offer a service and then not contact the paying cutomer for 3 weeks. They have a culture there of shoving work onto others and giving excuses. I'm sure there are good employees there, but overall customer service could use some work!. read more

Placed on order online 8/8 for dishwasher delivery for my parents...site stated 2 in stock. They were never called with delivery time so I called 8/13 And was told it would be delivered today between 8-12....no delivery, no call!!! My father called and the store stated the dishwasher they received was damaged so it would be another week. I called Lowes online tonight and cancelled order....they said the store will call with cancellation confirmation.....I won't hold my breath waiting for a call and I won't be shopping at Lowes either. read more

Lowe's of New Bern, NC is a nightmare. This morning there was a 40 minute wait in the only open line in the Garden Dept. There was nobody at the other registers. Customers had to load their own mulch, rocks, etc. and they were struggling to help each other in the parking lot because we were told there was only one guy to help and he was loading mulch at the far end of the lot. We all wondered why the Store Manager (if there is one) didn't come out and at least apologize and try to rectify the situation. Next time....WalMart. read more

I seriously hate this lowes. The store is fine for buying whatever you need but I will never buy another appliance from here ever again. First I was lied to by a salesman saying I would get my washer and dryer in 3 weeks even though online it said a month and a half. Then I was called after 3 weeks saying it would be delivered the next day and when no one showed up I called them and they told me they don't know why I was called and it was "back ordered" and wouldn't be in for another 3 weeks. When I called to complain about being lied to they tried to act like I was lying and were straight up rude. I called corporate so the store manager called and said I would get an update every week (never happened). Then I was called and told it came in damaged and it would have to be reordered. luckily they offered me the silver one so it would only take another week instead of 48 days, which is what it would take the white one to come on. I was told I'd be called to set up delivery, which never happened and they tried to deliver it on Memorial Day so I was obviously busy and they said I couldn't have it delivered for another week. After enough complaining they delivered it after another 3 days. In all, it took 2 months to get my appliance delivered and every single person I spoke with on the phone was rude and unprofessional. The delivery people were nice but that was it. Never again. read more

I am waiting for the delivery of a refrigerator I ordered on Nov. 29. It was to be delivered on Dec. 5. I placed a call and told them not to deliver the floor model, I wanted a new in box since it cost $1800. Received a call on Dec 5 that it had not been put on the truck. Dec 6 the wrong refrigerator was delivered but left in place as a loaner. Checking order, was told it did not come in until the afternoon and would be out in the morning. Dec 7 received a call at 11:40 that it didn't go out on the truck but would be delivered tomorrow. Dec 8 refrigerator arrives, before it is brought into the house, I noticed dents along the side and door. The floor model was being offered. I refused. I called the store and am told now that one will be in on Dec 10 and delivered Dec 12. Do you believe it? I don't. I have called Morehead City and they have the model I want. Wouldn't you think it would be easy enough to pick that one up and just stop lying to the customers. I want to call corporate headquarters. Don't they care about customer satisfaction? My refrigerator arrives on Dec 12 or the order will be canceled, and we will never pull into Lowe's parking lot again. I will drive to Morehead City, Cape Carteret, or Jacksonville and do some additional shopping. read more

When it comes to their delivery process it is absolutely awful! We've ordered numerous appliances from Lowes of New Bern and they seem to always be confused about when it is supposed to be delivered. No one ever calls the day prior or the morning of to let us know when things will be delivered like they are supposed to either. The last two times we've ordered I called and they didn't even know I was supposed to be getting a delivery. The dryer we ordered that was supposed to be coming at 2pm came at 8:30pm. It was not only missing pieces and parts, but it was dented and damaged as well. We ended up having to send it back which took an additional two weeks to complete. We were told we would have our refund in 3-5 business days. We of course had to order another dryer which put us out an additional $500+. We have waited over a month now for a refund. No one from Lowes in New Bern seems to ever know what is going on or what they are supposed to be doing. Seems to be very poor communication and organization going on. read more

Went in to buy some medium size moving boxes. They had 3 on the shelf but I needed 12. Looked around for an associate, found one, dark hair & dark glasses. She had a cart full of recycling boxes & stated she could not help me & I should go to hardware. OK, went to the contractor desk & stood there while 6 associates looked @ each other waiting for the weak one to come forward. She did look the stock number up for me & called for assistance but no one showed up. After a few more minutes of waiting, I went looking for yet another associate. Found one half way up a ladder & asked for someone to help. She immediately helped me. The other associates should be fired for their lack of professionalism. It should not take 8 associates to get help. Too bad a few idiots ruin it for the honest, hard working ones. They are better suited for the unemployment line where they can be treated unfairly & with contempt. read more

My issue is with the appliances this store sells and the service that is provided. Never, and I mean NEVER buy a Frigidaire appliance ...period and don;t buy apliances at Lowes. We purchased a Frigidaire glass top stove and 30 days before the 1 year warranty expired ....the electrical control panel blew out. The store replaced the part and had a service company come out and install the new part. Three months later after the installation of the new part...............the SAME part blew out, I called back saying the same part blew out again..........hmmmmmm .......a 3 month old part is not under warranty and I must pay for the part $150 and pay for the installation of the new part. What? The 3 month old part is not covered? NO third party parts that Lowe's uses in its parts replacement are not under warranty. Lesson? buy your appliances at Sears. read more

Customer service is, for the most part, rude. There are exceptions, but in general if you can't find something on your own, be prepared to deal with a rude or at least, unconcerned employee. Returns are even worse. It's always a slow process, and even though they advertise a "no hassles" return policy, they apparently don't know what those two words mean. The return policy states "no receipt required", but when I tried to return a $30 dollar item (after spending thousands on a remodeling project), I was told I would need a receipt because that particular item was frequently stolen from the store. A faucet! Still in the original, unopened box. There are plenty of items in Lowe's that are much more valuable and more easily concealed. It makes me wonder what else you can't return with the no hassle, no receipt return policy. We really, really need a Home Depot in New Bern. I returned an item to the Jacksonville HD (a sink) and was in and out of the store in 5 minutes. They even came out to my vehicle so I didn't have to carry it in. And don't get me started on the rude girl/woman working in the Lowe's NB flooring department! read more
