hello I was just at Lowe's home improvement store near me in raLeigh NC on capital blvd. the service was horrible! i went to purchase 2 sets of window blinds for my home. upon arrival, I asked 2 employees who were standing around together doing nothing but talking to each other with a glazed look in their eyes as if they were high on marijuana and when I asked them where I could locate the window blinds for my home they both said they thought it was in isle 12; however, when I went there they weren't there and were in isle 13. then we went to customer service to attempt to utilize an official military ID card and the customer service representative and manager named Justin was not helpful by allowing us to use an established military ID card which had previously been approved. however, they would not allow us to use the card in question and that we had to pre-register by going to a website called "ID.Me". this was not an ideal way in which I would have liked to spend my Sunday afternoon in a store which was not helpful in my purchase and we were not treated the way in which a customer should be expected to be treated. needless to say I refuse to return to this store in the future due to this situation. I also will be telling everyone that I know of my experience and moving forward I will be going to the Home Depot instead for my purchasing needs. This Lowes is the worst. The "help " if you can find someone, is not helpful. They had a huge 2x4 foot sign advertising 5 annuals for $5, but I didn't see any pint size plants which was the size advertised. When I finally found a clerk she said she didn't know where they were she was new. So I walk around, find pint size annuals, go to ring up and she says 2.98 each. When I take her to the huge sign at the entrance she reads it then points to fine print at very bottom that says the sale ends 10/11 which was NINE DAYS AGO. Sign is prominently displayed at garden center entrance, somebody is not doing their job!! Proper customer service would be to honor that price for my purchase then take the sign down. Instead the clerk climbed up pulled it down and never said the first word. I bought stainless appliances and granite there last year and there was an error in that pricing too, but the dept mgr honored their mistake. Not getting my business ever again. I am truly dissapointed with the customer service repa at Lowes in Capital Blvd. I had a big restoration job and stocked up with supplies from Lowes. I had to return unused, unopened meechandise but my return was refused; I was told that it was over 90 says. It was only 4 says over. Great customer Service!!! We visited 3 other stores to find appliances, until I found Javonne at Capital store. He is very knowledgeable about all types of appliances and even there specs because we had some challenges with measurements. He recommended having one of their contractors to come out and measure so we would be sure to buy the one that works for our cabinets. Also worked with Russell on some dings to our fridge and he got a discount processed within 24 hours. The guy in lighting was very helpful, he spent almost 20 minutes with me trying to find lamps that would fit outdoor post. The ladies in customer service were invaluable in getting our delivery scheduled. And i think Cameron found an earlier date they could deliver.Even though there's another store down the street we will always use capital. There have great personnel there. read more

I hate to write negative yelp reviews and I barely ever feel the need to. However, the experience(s) I've had at Lowe's in Raleigh over the past few days have been unacceptable. First and foremost, the start of these issues began when I requested to have an estimate for carpets in my new home. I had tried calling the flooring department for two weeks and had yet to have an employee pick up. Once I finally did talk to someone at the customer service desk, they transferred me to the flooring department, and no one ever answered this call either. Knowing this, I decided to go into the store to speak to someone in flooring. I requested an estimate for later in the week. This was scheduled. The flooring person called the afternoon of the estimate and cancelled. He rescheduled for the next day for a window of 2-5pm, but would call prior to arriving. However, there was no call. So once realizing he was already at the house with no notice, I had to race over there. Mind you, I'm not living at the new house yet which is why I wasn't there to begin with. 4 days after the estimate, I hadn't heard anything from Lowe's. So I tried to call and ask about it. After 20 minutes on hold again, I decided to go into the store. I walked to the flooring dept and found no one so I flagged down a woman who worked in appliances and she kindly agreed to look up my estimate. She gave me an estimate that seemed confusingly expensive. However, I thought I would bring it home to analyze further. Turns out she had charged for labor, which should be free if you buy carpet through Lowe's. Easy fix! So the next day I try to call to clarify and correct the estimate. 20 minutes later on hold and no one picks up. I head into the store again to speak to someone in person. I explain my concern with the estimate and a new woman gets me a corrected estimate. However, upon inspecting the new estimate it was clear it was also incorrect as it was $1800 less than the first one. When I asked her about it, she stated that she didn't understand and I would have to come back another day when a flooring expert was available. After this entire ordeal, I decided to get carpet at carpet plus instead. I was really hoping to use Lowe's as I had heard good things from other customers, but this poor customer service and lack of any knowledgeable answers was off-putting. I would not recommend using this Lowe's if you don't absolutely have to. read more

It has been a 7 month ordeal since I ordered 13 custom made blinds (Allen and Roth through Vista) from them. - I am on my 4th reorder of 1-4 defective blinds with the remaining blinds either squeaky or difficult to handle - I've spent a number of hours total on the phone and in store on hold for employees who do not know how to navigate through their own system - I've been tossed around multiple times being referred to another person and yet again to another person to get inaccurate or wrong information - I've had to physically drive to Lowe's on several occasions to speak to a manager after being unable to get a hold of someone on the phone - I was given estimated delivery dates that accounted for the busy season yet deliveries were consistently 3-5 weeks late - replacement of the first set of defective blinds was postponed by a month after being sent "repair stickers" - Lowe's was able to give me a tracking number for the 2nd reorder of blinds after 2 weeks past the delivery date but when the same issue came up on the 3rd reorder, I was told that neither they nor the maker could not provide that information. With the help of a manager we contacted the maker several more times and was told the blinds have been mailed but no tracking number to confirm. I received an email with the tracking number 1 day after the blinds arrived at the house - after the 3rd run of defective blinds I spoke to corporate office requesting return of all the blinds and a full refund. I was declined a full refund or opportunity to return the blinds. They offered 25% off the cost of the blinds and labor. They did not accept any negotiations. I have yet to hear from them regarding replacement of the still-defective blind - The installers (Blind Faith) were very helpful and ready to install same day as delivery after the 1st reorder. They no longer work with Lowe's. I am very disappointed with the customer service and quality of Lowes merchandise. Even when given the opportunity to make things right (or at least make things fair) for a customer, they choose to nickel and dime you. I understand business is business but when your company is incompetent in its basic every day functions, further action should be taken to compensate. The pennies they've taken from customers is not what's going to keep the company thriving--it's the long term relationship with those customers. Safe to say they've lost our business. read more

THE WORST FREAKING CUSTOMER SERVICE THAT I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED FROM LOWE'S APPLIANCE DEPARTMENT. I am writing this review before I have received all of the appliances that I ordered. Over a week ago I purchased a range, microwave and a refrigerator. At the time I placed my order the refrigerator was in stock but we chose to have everything delivered at the same time. We were told that the refrigerator would be delivered on June 6th. Well on June 5th I called LOWE'S to confirm the date and time that they were delivering. Well to my surprise they said the range will not be in until June 13th and we can deliver it June 14th. I said at the time I placed the order the guy told us they would deliver June 6th. Whoever I spoke with said we will have the manager send Samsung an email to see if we can get it in sooner. So my fridge was delivered on Monday June 6th and i asked about my microwave and the delivery guy said there is no microwave on the invoice to be delivered today. So I called the store and they said we have it in the store and the plumber who is to install it has the microwave. Well today June 7th someone from the Lowe's in Garner called and said the guy who was installing the microwave was there to pick it up but they could not find it. So I gave him the order number of the microwave that i purschaed. He said OK I found it. So I hung up then realized he said nothing about my range so I called him back and he said ma'am your order for that microwave is not in our system. I said WHAT?! I said well I purchased the appliances at the Lowe's on Capital. He said oh that's why it's not showing up...Now remember when I gave him my order number he said he had it in stock. So I called and spoke with a manager at the Lowe's on Capital and he said in said I didnt place your order but I will see what's going on. I am SO PISSED OFF RIGHT ABOUT NOW!!! It's as if no one in the appliance department no what the hell they are doing. BTW, I'm anxious to receive my range because the one I have went out. I've been coming to this Lowes since 1993; and mostly it's been a good experience overall. However, today, it SUCKED. I couldn't find anyone in the hardware section and was ignored disputed attempts by the gentleman at the contractor sales desk. So, I tried to call from inside the store to get assistance in hardware as I stood in the main front isle at the hardware key-cutting desk. Three times I called, was transferred, heard the desk ring and light up, heard the intercom page and was disconnected. I've never really felt like screaming at the top of my lungs in a store before, but this time I almost slipped into the exception. Our refrigerator went to the great appliance department in the sky, and after a lengthy stint of product research and price comparison we ended up at Lowe's for a new one. While it took a while longer than anticipated to find someone who worked there to assist us, once we did find them the refrigerator replacing process was over in moments - and far shorter a wait for delivery than we'd expected, too! Meanwhile there were 6 pages for an associate to go to plumbing repair desk, 4 calls for "code 50" to garden register and one page each for hardware, electrical isle and receiving. So after doing business with Lowe's for almost 60 years... the service I received over the past week has been the worse service I have ever received. From the time I submitted a protection plan claim for a washer that was only a couple of years old, to trying to correctly order another washer with an associate over the phone that obviously was not well trained, to trying desperately to have my washer delivered in a reasonable time with their third party delivery company J B Hunt. That simply put the icing on the cake! They arrived 6 hours late without even a call from them. The J B Hunt delivery staff were unprofessional and could not even hook up the washer correctly. My husband had to step in the help. No masks....... Never Ever Again will I order an appliance from Lowes Home Improvement. I am sad to say that they have really gone downhill!!!! Purchased a whirlpool dishwasher from Lowe's and they had to order it because they did not have in stock. Waited 3 weeks and they called to deliver after the quarantine stuff happened. Had them place on back deck which they did fine except box was partially open. When I went to install it the water line i paid extra for was missing they were supposed to deliver with machine. Now I had to wait on hold for over an hour to get them to deliver that a few days later. Then when I tried to install for the second time I noticed the instructions and parts(drain clamps & install holding clips) that are supposed to be included with machine were missing. I again was on phone for over an hour to get them to find parts and instructions which I had to go into store with face mask on to pickup. Then when I tried to install for the third time The water line they delivered was missing the water line elbow you need for connecting water line to machine. I went to the store this time because getting though on phone is always a hour or so ordeal and you get little help or none at all. When I went to store and told guy in Appliances that part was missing from the delivered water line he said you can buy another for $20.00 or go over to plumbing and buy $6.00 part to complete the package that was incomplete in the first place. I asked him if that was the right attitude since they shorted it and he said well that's the way it is. Well I am in process of cancelling my lowes credit card and the appliance bundle for another house i own as well as any other purchases in the future with Lowe's home improvements. While we did this the delivery guys just stood around smoking and joking. Then after we told them we were ready they decided to unpack and setup the fridge. This store continues to botch my washer and dryer delivery. I ordered new appliances through Lowes.com with guarantee 3-7day delivery. We needed the washer and dryer quickly as our current ones are failing. I even paid $150 extra for a color I didn't want as that was the only one with the guaranteed delivery dates. An email confirmed delivery 7/8 but come the morning of 7/8 still no call for delivery time. When I called the delivery center they informed me they didn't actually have the product in stock but would get back to me with a delivery time on 7/9 or 7/10. They never called back so I called the morning of 7/9 to find they still had nothing in stock and now thought maybe 7/16 for a delivery (no promise there either). The recommendation from Lowe's was that I should cancel my order and try my luck ordering through a different store (apparently they can't do this on their end?!?). Had I wanted to wait 2-3 weeks for delivery I could have ordered the less expensive color from any of their competitors. Feels like a pretty lousy bait and switch. read more

Store looked really good but was put out by the checkout experience. When I approached the register, two cashiers were talking to each other because there wasn't anyone in their lines. I walked up and the cashier went behind his register to ring me up, without greeting me. He scanned my items (more than $75) without saying a word to me.... I decided not to speak, just to see if he would? He scanned both items, i swiped my card, and then he handed me my receipt. Never said a word. Special order products and ordering items like windows take an astoundingly long time to complete. They are so slow, that it's mind boggling. And be careful if you do order windows. Be 100% certain you check the carton they come in for any problems before you leave. Once you take those babies out the door, if you then discover scratches, dings or find that a window is out of plumb, you'll never get Lowes to take those windows back. That's right - you cannot return them. Lowes will fight you to the death on that every single time. They'll claim that you damaged the window by not storing it correctly, or they'll come up with some other bogus reason why you can't return them. read more

I've been to this Lowe's several times, and normally have okay experiences...and then I decided to get an estimate for wood flooring. I paid $35 to have their contractor, Legacy Flooring, come out to take measurements for an estimate. Legacy called me a little after 10 o'clock at night, and insisted on scheduling an appointment before 4 p.m. on each day that I suggested. I agreed to have them come out on a Friday at 4:00 p.m., and told them that I would have to leave work early. I took time off work to make sure that I was at home when they arrived. Legacy did not arrive at 4, and no one called. At 4:40, Ben called to tell me that they would be at my house in 20-30 minutes, and that he "hope this is not a problem." I said, "It is a problem. Are you aware that your appointment was at 4, and that I took off work to make sure that I was here?" Ben rudely responded that he was measuring other customers' homes. I had to remind him that I, too, am a customer. He arrived with Taylor about 25 minutes later. Do you think either of them bothered to acknowledge that they were more than an hour late, or apologized for wasting my time? The answer is no. I told Ben that running behind schedule is understandable, but that he had to have realized that he was behind schedule earlier in the day, and could and should have called well before 4 o'clock to let me know. That way, I could have worked a full day. He rudely responded that they have a lot of customers and that he had to take measurements at their homes. It took every bit of etiquette not to tell them right then and there to get the hell out of my house. I allowed them to finish their measurements and they left. I brought this to Lowe's attention, only to be told that this is a common complaint that they get about Ben and Legacy Flooring. The Lowe's manager also told me that the installers are different people, so I wouldn't be dealing with Ben. I told him that if taking measurements had to be scheduled after 10 o'clock at night, and showing up to take the measurements was this unprofessional, I can't imagine what I would have to deal with to actually get floors installed. More than a week later when I had not heard from Lowe's, I called to see about the estimate (I paid for it, after all). I was given a vague estimate over the phone, and had to request that a written estimate be sent by email. I received one a few days later. The vagueness of that wasn't much better, and I did not receive a useful written estimate until I went to the store and waited 30 minutes for someone who knew how to print one from their system returned from lunch to give me an estimate. Needless to say, my purchase and installation will not be done by Lowe's. Even more importantly, it will not be done by Legacy Flooring. In all fairness, I considered Lowe's for my upcoming project because I had a very positive experience when they installed wood flooring in my home several years ago when I lived in another state. We order all the materials for a three season sunroom addition from Lowe's Home Improvement of Capital Blvd, Raleigh, NC. Our experience has been nothing but a nightmare. We went with our general contractor to place the order and had the order numbers alone with the number of materials. A gentleman by the name of Ken that assisted us with placing the original order incorrectly ordered the windows, the door, and lots of other materials. We were first contacted the next day by Clay about the door. It was incorrectly order and we had to give the information over the phone and a credit card to pay for the correct order. We asked if the door was going to come in at the same time with the windows and he said yes, but it never did arrive on the date they stated. Next, as our contractor was picking up material, time and time again he had to correct errors with the amount ordered and the type ordered. We could not believe that was happening! One week goes by and we call to get an update for the windows. We are told the order was just yesterday and it will take fifteen days. We did not understand what was happening and ask to speak to a manger. We spoke to Elizabeth and she stated she was going to look in to it and call us back, she never did! Four hours later we get a call back from Clay NOW stating that the windows were also ordered incorrectly!!!!!!!!!!!!! We went back to the store within an hour with our general contractor to see that the issue was and we asked what could be done to expedite the order. Our general contractor even asked if he could pick up the windows from the manufacturing company who was an hour and a half away from here. Could we order from another manufacture or if Lowe's could pay to have them sooner, we were told no!!!! We did ask what are they going to do to keep me from not ordering them from Home Depot and they gave me an additional 20% off on top of a 10% off we had gotten when we ordered the windows. We should have just gone to Home Depot! The discount was not been worth the headache! Last week we were told the windows were going to be in on the 14th, the contractor was told the same date. Lowe's called us yesterday to say now the windows are coming the following day after. We asked to speak to a manager and explain everything and that we were so disappointed with Lowe's and at this point the person that is losing money and time is our general contractor. It has impacted him so much! They were supposed to finish the job on the 14th. We have been given the run around, told so many stories and different dates from Lowe's managers and Clay. We are so upset! All we want is our windows to finish a week project that now is over a month because of Lowe's Home Improvement. We are not here trying to get money back or an additional discount, we don't care about any discounts, we just want our windows. We will NEVER NEVER buy anything from Lowe's again and will tell anyone that asks about Lowe's what happen and to not go there. read more
