Not even one star!!! I bought 6 boxes of floor planks awhile back at Lowe's in Sioux Falls, SD. When an installer gave us an estimate, he said waterproof would be much better in the kitchen than the ones I bought. Took them back today, but was told absolutely no returns after 90 days. The manager, Rob Storey, would make no exceptions, not even for store credit. He was not pleasant about it....VERY rude!!! The boxes were still in the plastic, unopened, and still sold at Lowe's. Lowe's has a great location just off the freeway on 26th by I29. They offer similar building supplies as Home Depot and Menards,both of which are a half mile down Louise. Comparing prices on similar items Lowe's is the most expensive of the three. Same items can be 20 percent more. The store itself is clean, bright, nicely laid out and well stocked. I go there out on convenience and because they do have different items not at other stores. read more

Do NOT order anything from this location, and if possible, this Loew's in general. Our recent experience was absolutely awful. We ordered a washer and drying, after moving across country, a month ago. When we made our order online it gave us a date that it would be delivered on (two and a half weeks after our order). We never received a call to confirm around that date so we called the store. They had difficulties finding our order number, and once they did find it, they notified us that it would be another two and a half weeks to receive our items. I understand that during COVID things are being held up, so I had compassion for that response, however, at the very minimum they should have notified us. Then we were told that the online delivery date actually doesn't link up to their in store delivery system so we shouldn't have used that. If they knew that, the store should call each customer promptly to inform them of their actually delivery date. So, we wait another two and a half weeks... We were supposed to receive our items yesterday, after being told over the weekend (when we, again, called to confirm since they did not call to do so). We were told to wait until 8 pm. Toward evening, we again had to call and were told they had truck issues and some installs were taking longer than anticipated. 8 pm came around and there had still been no call or delivery. We called this morning to see what the plan was, and we were told our item is no longer in stock and that it would not be delivered, and to order other units. This is absolutely ludicrous and unacceptable!! The ball was dropped so many times. This company is disorganized and dishonest. Give your money elsewhere. Update: called customer service. I was on hold for an hour only to be told I could not speak to a manager. Loew's is an absolutely incompetent corporation that does not care about their customers, and due to this, provides no effort in making things right or retaining customers. The least helpful customer service people I've dealt with. Two employees seemed like they're were on drugs or hungover. When I asked questions, their response was they don't know or "someone" over there might know better. I could make this a long rambling review, but I will save you some time and just get to the point. If you are looking for quality products that will stand the test of time, run away from Lowes and drive to Home Depot or Mendards. If you are looking for low quality derivatives that will fail long before they should, you are definitely at the right place. We purchased several exterior doors and storm doors with all new hardware. Our first sign of problems ahead was when the Lowes installer drilled a hole in the wrong place. Then he installed the door handles incorrectly. When the doors were finally installed, we noted a magnet would not stick to Lowe's premium "steel" doors. Flash forward to now and every single door has been replaced at least once by the manufacturer and repaired multiple times (with little to no support from Lowes or Larson). And all this over the span of 4 years. Oh and now the presmium door locks are falling part. Spend a little more elsewhere and save yourself the time, money, and headache of dealing with an inept business that only pretends to care until the cash register rings up the total. read more

I'd give them a 0! Terrible customer service. I will never shop there again!!! We were there 2 days ago and no one seemed to be able to answer questions correctly or want to help us. A young guy in flooring walked away when I told him I wanted 10 feet of carpet. He didn't seem to know anything that wasn't on his phone. He even had trouble looking up stuff. I went back today and rang for service in flooring (had to ring the bell more than once.) 2 guys going by said the carpet guy was at lunch. Finally the store manager came, but refused to sell me anything after I complained about the poor customer service. I said some things I shouldn't have, but apologized. He never did. He kept throwing everything back at me saying he wouldn't deal with me. I was told 4 people in the flooring dept just quit. NO WONDER, if they're treated so poorly by the manager. I broke down in tears before leaving the store. I have chronic illness and some days just can't handle being treated poorly. I went to 4 other stores today with NO problems whatsoever. In fact I complimented them for their good customer service! I got a better deal at Carpet Land where the man was VERY nice, friendly, and went out of his way to help me. my son ordered a dishwasher that was in stock three weeks ago and they took full payment. he asked for the delivery to be made 3 weeks from the date of purchase so he could make the arrangements for it and to take the day off. well they sold the dishwasher that was in stock the day they took his payment(they verified that they had the dishwasher the day he purchased it). fast forward to today and he took the day off needlessly. Lowes didn't have the courtesy to tell him they sold his dishwasher and was unable to obtain a replacement by his delivery date. and the delivery didn't have the courtesy to call either to say they didn't have a dishwasher to deliver. unacceptable to have taken payment and then sell his dishwasher. I've advised him to stop payment on his credit card and purchase the dishwasher elsewhere. Ridiculous disregard for the customer and their time. read more

Today is the one year anniversary of the start of our house siding and windows project. We chose Lowes because we were hoping they would come in with a crew of workers and complete the job in just a few weeks. The salesman measured everything to give us a rough estimate. An estimator then came out 3 weeks later, after I had called Lowes several times to ask when someone would be out, and measured everything. We paid up front for the entire project on August 1, 2016. Lowes didn't want to start the siding until the 7 special order windows had arrived. We agreed and they gave an estimated delivery of 4 to 6 weeks. That would work out great because that would be about the time one of their contractors would be able to schedule the job. The windows arrived and the contractors did too! However, as the truck was unloading the windows I could see they were not the right size. The special order windows were 12 inches too short...they had been measured twice! Seven windows were measured wrong. Contractor blamed Lowes, Lowes blamed the contractor and we were stuck in the middle. The siding was already coming off the house as the demolition crew started working before the window problem was found. This is now late September. The windows had to be reordered...another 4 to 6 weeks for delivery. The siding was not put on because the windows were not yet installed. Our home had the siding off and Lowes logo house wrap on it. Project halted until windows arrived. We live in a small town and many neighbors were asking what was going on! The second set of windows arrived in December. Thinking that the windows would be correct this time, the Lowes contractors pulled out the windows. Our great room window is 146" wide. Quite a hole to have in the house in December in Minnesota! The windows were wrong again, this time too wide! Lowes store did not have anything close to fitting, so my husband called around found windows that were close to the right height, but not width, at Home Depot in Sioux Falls. 85 miles one way to buy those windows. Lowes contractor put them in and we had to drywall the space the window did not meet. More problems continued, and they started putting the siding on in very cold weather. I commented about the siding install at that temperature, they said it would be okay. Then they ran out of siding. 4 to 6 weeks to get more siding. We went to Florida for the winter, with the house project nearly half done. To cut this story short, the siding is now buckling in the heat because it was installed improperly and the installers did not put all the channels in under the windows. Lowes kept sending out people to look at the job to try to resolve it, but none of their contractors would touch it because it would be too big of a job to take it all off and put it back on properly. Dakota, the install person from Lowes called me two months ago and said he could not find anyone and he was "out of options"! If I could find someone locally, Lowes would work with them to complete the job. I finally found someone, and Lowes wanted to meet with him to discuss the project. They met on site, looked at the install and agreed to what needs to be done and the store manager of Lowes said to go ahead and start. However more siding had to be ordered because it was cut too short in many places, and not installed at all under the decking. Another 4 to 6 weeks! Then the store manager Carl, called and said that Lowes regional manager said to turn it over to their insurance. That is where we are at today. No siding has been ordered yet. Lowes evidently doesn't want to deal with the improper install and the insurance has not gotten back to me with a solution. There is much more to the saga that seems to never end! What can we do now? One year has passed! I am frustrated with the project from beginning to end...no end yet in sight. 9/6/2017. Update....today finally heard from Lowes insurance. They'll settle with us, but still has to be approved by just ONE more person!! Wanted to order the replacement siding.. 4 to 6 weeks! Where have I heard that before! read more

I am disappointed by Lowe's in Sioux Falls. As a contractor, I believe their service is sub-par. They have some unique and quality building products. However, it is really a pain to get someone knowledgeable to help, especially when something needs to be ordered. I have never been a big Lowe's shopper --- Menard's is much closer to my house. But ..... last year I needed a new storm door and both Menard's and Home Depot had a strange "disconnect" between the purchase and the installation. I wanted "one throat to choke" and only Lowe's provided that. I got a good door at a good price AND they arranged delivery, installation, and disposal of the old door. No fuss, no muss. So, when it came time to buy appliances and their name came up as strong local dealers --- I went shopping. Senad is the Appliance Department manager at Lowe's in Sioux Falls and is a very (very) knowledgable guy. He walked us through all the options and offered a great price. We left, shopped elsewhere, and soon discovered that the other store's salespeople weren't nearly as knowledgable nor nearly as helpful. After visits to Sears, Karl's, and Home Depot we headed back to Lowe's. We purchased a refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, microwave, and garbage disposal --- all with installation. It took a lot of coordination and a few bumps, but Senad hung with us every step of the way. The microwave arrived without the correct mounting hardware and Senad got us a replacement INSTALLED at 3:00pm on a Friday afternoon! When we got the fridge in we realized that we should have purchased a "counter depth" unit ---- yup, you guessed it --- Senad immediately jumped in and solved the problem. Replacement in process! I have purchased lawn mowers, a stove for a rental, and recently a new washer and dryer for our home. The experience is always excellent, and the delivery and set-up is as well, in fact after the washer and dryer purchase, we went back today and purchased a new dishwasher. Because of the first purchase years ago, if their prices are competitive (and they always are) we always go there first and have never been disappointed. I ordered a miter saw from Lowe's back the beginning of June 2020. They said they're where limited quantities of this item so I may not be able to get it right away which I was ok with. Here it is the beginning of November 2020 and I get an email from Lowe's stating my saw is ready for pick-up. I also got a call from the store stating the same thing. Great, a kind of forgot about ordering it but it was a really good price so I went to the store to pick it up. After waiting for my turn in the pickup\return section of the store I handed my email with my order number to the employee. She never acknowledged me in anyway, she got on her computer then called for assistance from someone else. They too, never acknowledged me and he went to, what assume, go look for my item. After about 15 minutes, she asked me to step aside and she starts helping other people, again never saying anything about what going on with my pickup order. After another 15-20 minutes I finally had enough and told the employee she could keep the saw if they ever found it. She simply said 'OK' and continued helping other people. By the time I got to my vehicle to leave, I had a cancellation email. Apparently they they are quite efficient sending emails but that's about it. There are many options in Sioux Falls, SD big box stores; I would suggest Menards or Home Depot as I've never had issues with either of those stores. Jim S read more

Yesterday, I went to Lowes to buy gardening stuff and I decided to get another cactus. I like the selection they have for cacti its a nice range of cacti and succulents, so I get to choose. I got this little cactus not too big and I bought it. When I got home I discovered that the 3 pink flowers on the cactus were glued on. They were glued on! The side of the container of the cactus had a little sticker (which most plants have) saying that the flowers should be white. Not pink. I realize that Lowes wants to sell it cacti but gluing on flowers? I don't see myself purchasing another cactus from here anytime soon. read more

Day 61...bought appliances Nov 30, 2017 that stated 3-7 days availability/delivery, still waiting.

We ordered a microwave on September 4th with a delivery date of September 21st. After not hearing anything we went into the store and also called multiple times to try and find out where our microwave was and every time we were told it's on the truck you will be notified when it's in. Over a week went by past the delivery date, no phone calls or notification from you guys only us stopping in or calling you multiple times. After being very polite to the associates but very firm they went and searched and found a microwave that was the one we ordered however it was someone else's and supposedly someone else picked up our microwave. The date on the Box says June 25th so this microwave was there the whole time that we have been waiting for ours to come in. This is unacceptable how can you not have your inventory situated so that your customers can feel valued and get their items that they ordered. I will never do business with lowes again this experience was absolutely horrible. We have multiple appliance stores in this town so there is no reason for me to ever step foot in there again. read more
