I have shopped at multiple Lowe's all over North Carolina. Usually it's like pulling teeth to find an employee that works there eager to assist and help with what you are looking for. Well I finally found one. I was looking to buy 26 bags of gravel for a job I am doing and I'll be. Walked by Garrett from lawn and garden stepped up to us and asked if we needed help. That's a first. Then he proceeded to load up a pallet of the 26 bags of rock while I went to pay at the register. He had it load and pulled around waiting for us and help loaded it on the trailer. On 5/30/2026 I went to purchase supplies for lawn work and buy a grill. At checkout I was told I'd have to pay for grill at customer service desk separately. So I did. The employees loading the grill complained about it was hot and they were ready to go home several times, the other employee was rough and just threw the grill on the back of my truck. Neither of them were professional or friendly. The lid was dropped several times ending up with dents. No one expressed they were sorry, once loaded they both just walked away. Over the past month I spent approximately $2000.00 at Lowe's. I purchased a refrigerator and landscape blocks and then on 30th I spent approximately $500.00. I won't be going back there and will recommend to my family and friends not to purchase from there. We went to the garden center to get a couple bags of mulch. Picked up bags that were broken open with missing mulch. One bag was only a half. The girl at the checkout gave us tape so we could tape up our broken bags and then refused to give us the discount for open bags. and I almost forgot she offered to let us go back of the store to get some empty bags to put our broken bags into. DON'T BUY YOUR CARPET FROM LOWE'S. We need I/O carpet for our sunroom. A week later they sent someone out to measure. We then waited 2 weeks to get it installed. The installers put down the padding then said there was an issue. The carpet they were given was 15x14. The room needed 17x12!!! How on earth someone gets paid to do this so poorly is amazing. They said 12' is a standard width so it should have been a no-brainer. If they expected the installers to piecemeal the remnants, they were wrong. Have been shopping at this Lowe's for 19+ years. Reasons I like: People I met long ago, still here. Any problem, I gather them together like a football game huddle, tell them my chores and strategy, we yell "Break!" and away we go. Ok maybe not like that, but whenever I need extra attention, they have always come through. The garden center is huge with just about any yard, nursery, or patio need. The pond section (which is my 80% needs) is well stocked and seldom an issue finding stuff...yes stuff. Always in need of more stuff. Must make mention of Miss Ava whom I've bothered over the years for help. Customer service is always overwhelmed, but if you stick with them, they handle it for you. What is going on at Lowe's. There is a single paint area employee who has been on the phone for the last 30 minutes trying to fix an issue with one of the color machines with customers either leaving or waiting 40 mins for paint. Any mangers around to support this guy. Of course not, but they have like 4 people watching me check out to make sure I don't steal anything. Inefficiency at its best. Customer service at this particular Lowe's has been on the decline over the last year. So, either the employee was not willing to ask for help, he asked for help and it never arrived, or management is too busy ensuring that customers don't steal stuff to manage the store. We had to get out of line to go put the product back and get back in line to wait over 20 mins with a different product. I have purchased 2 items and never regret that in my life as bad. 1- I had ordered a grill to pick up and they were trying to sell me a rusted one that had been sitting in the back for quite some time pick up. It was not even the same model. Did not accept the product at the store and demanded a refund! 2- Just today, 202208281421 - I received a patio screen door with a busted screen (mesh). I have been a loyal customer of Lowes for over 40 years and have never been treated as badly as I was this week at the store in W. Fayetteville NC. The management and customer service at this store is by far the worst I've ever seen. I purchased a craftsman pressure washer on 14 May 2025 it sat in my garage in the box for four days and I unpackaged and assembled it on 19 May 2025. it started one time and then broke so by myself I managed to load it into my truck and returned to Lowe's. I went inside and asked the assistant manager at the desk if there was someone who could help me unload it I was promptly told no. I did manage to slide it off onto one of the garden center carts by myself. take into consideration that I am a 63 year old disabled veteran. Once inside I had to stand in line for approximately 25 minute, whereas the customer service representative said she coul not return it because I had it longer than 48 hours. Lowes has so much confidence in the products they sell they only have a 48 hour return policy. I must admit that after going through everything I had already been through I started to get irate at this point. so they called the assistant manager over and she agreed to take it back, at this point all I really wanted was an exchange. A few minutes past and she came back and ask if there was any fuel left in it and of course there was, she then said there was absolutely nothing could be done for me and I would have to take it home somehow siphon the fuel from it and come back. it was at this time I requested to see the store manager and after a 25 minute wait he arrived with another man. I explained my situation and he ask the other man if they had been having trouble with the craftsman pressure washers, he replied yes they had been having quite a bit of problems with them. the manager said he would get it taken care of. He then disappeared around the corner with the assistant manager and told me because of my attitude there was nothing could be done. After much more discussion I informed the manager that I had spent over 30,000.00 in his store in the last 2 years and he laughed in my face and said so what. He finally agreed to send it out for repairs and it only took them about 35 minutes to Get me a repair ticket. I ask if they would deliver it when the repairs were completed and he said they would call me and I would have to pick it up When I got home I called corporate Lowes customer and all they have done is lie to me for the past 2 days. Customer service among some Lowes Southern Pines employees is non- existent. Today, after requesting assistance to load 20 bags of 50lb mulch, I was told that it was not possible as the loading gate was locked and "nobody knows where the keys are." I then requested assistance to get the mulch loaded through the front door. I was then told by the guy at checkout that he had tried to find someone, but nobody is available. The area requires a Home Depot to lift the service levels! Or, perhaps we should all support Burneys where the service is always excellent. read more

Just sitting here reading all the negative reviews and comments from years ago. Nothing has changed at this lowes. I will not single a person out but everytime I come here, this same person has to stop ringing me up to finish her personal story to another employee. I didn't think anything of it the first time I came here but now that it's happened 3 or 4 times, I decided to see what other reviews are like and I have to agree with most. I'm pretty easy to get along with but this constant cringe feeling I have when they continue to just ramble on about their personal life either before ringing me up or in the middle of it. Terrible customer service. Everyone else looks bored. Nobody hardly knows what I'm looking for or any base knowledge of any kind of tools or type of lumber I'm looking for. Called to see if an item was in stock, person on the other line didn't identify herself and when I asked about the item she just said acted like I was bothering her!! We ordered a refrigerator to be delivered during a 12-4 window. When I called to find out where it was at 3:45 I was told that the delivery driver said he was here at 11:45, but so was my husband texting me while I was at work. He never showed up nor did he bother to call to inform me he was here or that he would be early....I have gotten the run around on the phone with Lowes delivery and whatever company they hired for deliveries that day. I just wanted to tell everyone my story about this company. I use to work for a company called ECMD which was a GREAT company who value their employees. I encourage anyone to work for them if you ever looking for work and that vendor for Lowes. I was over the Fayetteville area for all the Lowes location and I had two locations outside of Fayetteville which was in southern pines NC and laurinburg NC. On Oct 13 a Lowes I arrived at my Lowes location in southern pines early that morning to see an employee name Amber Ours (you are a horrible human being for what you did by the way) in my area of work and we conversed and had a friendly conversation only to be stabbed in the back and the cops called on and faslely accused me of something. There was no arrest made due to the fact It was a hearsay matter and they couldn't make no arrest but Lowes took It upon theirselves to ban me from all Lowes location without knowing if the person was telling the truth or not and I understand that, that is their employee but at the same time if you have no evidence or camera to prove It why ban someone from all locations. When you can just ban me from that store. I believe which wasn't fair at all but that's what happens when you are a black man in America. So my job ECMD had to make a decision to just suspend me until they got a final answer for Lowes Corporate to try and lift the ban for me and they fought me for to get my job back. So I have been out a job since Oct. 13. I am forever grateful for that company best company I ever work for. So everyone BUT Lowes agreed with me and understood the extent of the situation. So, Fast forward I have literally tried to fight for my job and during these hard times I have now spent holidays without pay because that job constant of being in Lowes but you can't if you are ban. Lowes have put a burden on me and my family not knowing that bills don't stop but that employee still works there and still has her job. It's not that im not looking for a job but I am. It's still a process you have to go through to get a new job which I still have to wait to get my first pay. Don't get me wrong I am a hard worker that likes to work but It was just easier to just have a company like Lowes to just ban from that location. From Oct. 13-until today Dec. 8 they finally An answer and they choose not to lift the ban even getting advise from their lawyer to lift the ban they chose not too. I felt I was discriminated against and didn't have no say in the matter because I am a black men and that was falsely accused by a white women. We all know how that goes. So I wrote this to tell my story about my experience about being a vendor for Lowes. Thank you for everything ECMD. Lowes y'all are horrible for that and I will never shop here again and I'll tell my family and whoever the same because this wasn't right at all and it's crazy to me because I actually spent money in Lowes and was a customer outside of being a vendor for Lowes. One of our deliveries was from Sanford which included water line and no refrigerator, a $14.99 part delivered by 2 Guys! 2nd one came with dent on front door which wasn't accepted. 9 days later another was delivered, this one also had dent on front (didn't accept. Manager from store called and offered $1K discount if we would accept! Declined offer. Another manager said they would be sending a Gift Card for our inconvenience (which was never received!), this was offered for food spoilage which occurred while waiting on one of their cancelled deliveries! . Tried to call manager several times to share my experience, was on hold for 29 mins, 35 mins, another call 47 mins. Lowes in Southern Pines has got to be the worst store of any location. Can never get an associate over the phone (or in person) for assistance. Placed an order for carpet in Jan, it arrived, poor communication between Legacy Flooring (install company) and the store. They 'lost' two rooms worth of carpeting. The store reordered the carpeting, and it's mid April with still no carpet. Also, the company they contract to install the rugs, Legacy Flooring, has scheduled and no-showed 3 times. This place sucks. read more

If I could leave 0 stars I would. I ordered a Refrigerator and a stove at the store in Southern Pines, NC. The employee informed us the stove had to be ordered but the refrigerator was in the store. We place the order and paid. They were supposed to deliver on the 10th of April, but changed for the 11th from 12:00pm to 4:00pm. Delivery did not happen. Called the store several times and could not get anyone to help. Went to the store and was told by the customer service that it was delivered. I told her that if that was true I would not be in front of her. Then I was told of I would like to schedule a delivery. So it was never in the truck (deception). I got a refund, the Manager never attempted to talk to me even though he had my information. One of the assistant managers came by and did not even addressed me. The Lowes in Southern Pines has to be the worst of all Lowes locations. If you know what you want and where to find it and, you don't have another option, then you may get what you need. If they even have it at all. Every experience I've had at the Lowes in Southern Pines is horrible. Just this week I look at their local ad and needed something. When double checking there site there was supposed to be 9 available at this location. After going there and not finding it, I asked and they said we don't have a sales paper to look. We ordered appliances for our new home,, we were told we could not purchase special oven till it was measured by Lowes qualified installers because apparently people have bought this model and it didn't fit. They measured it,, they said we could buy it,, you guessed it...it shows up and does not fit correctly...They took off legs and slid glass overlay onto granite so the entire weight of oven is resting on the glass cooking top...the oven manual states this is not to be done and is a severe hazard because the glass can shatter injuring people...so we paid $125 for professional measurement, $125 for custom qualified installers and they have yet corrected the problem...my granite is pulling off the glued wood counter tops..I will have to replace granite and new backsplash at a major cost...looks like we are going to Carthrage ( Moore County Court House)..and the new microwave doesn't work....it seems that they should understand that if that glass breaks and anyone gets hurt...they will be legally liable because they knew it was a danger... read more

Wow how fast my experience can easily change in a matter of minutes! After finishing my previous review and waiting at the checkout lane. The older female sales associate who rang me up wasn't as friendly. I brought previously-purchased paint with me to have it shaken up and she gave me a nasty look as if I was stealing it. LOL. I then proceeded to ask if she could look up my MYLowe's card info with my phone number. The moment i tried to look at the screen to make sure she didn't choose the wrong one, she adjusted the monitor with her hand away from my view to hide it. LOL. ITS MY INFORMATION even though I know there are 2 random people that have used my phone number on their system. But yeah. She seemed crabby. Being a loyal customer of Lowe's and spending lots of money there (fence, appliances, tiles, etc.), I have to complain of the lousy Customer Service there. After buying a toilet and a special seat ($ 450.00) what we had to order, we got a call that it came in yesterday. Today I tried to pick it up. I had to wait 30 minutes for an already paid item. "Jason" the guy to get it from the back took his time!!! Jenny the unfriendly desk clerk told him that he has to bring an item to the front. I was watching him walking as slow he could, chatting with other 2 Employees at the front door before he came to pick up the paper for the item. I told him friendly that I was in a hurry. That was wrong, because walking to the back of the store to get the item took him 15 Minutes. At the Service desk, no apology, no smile, no thank you, no good bye! Thank's Lowe's! I had Lowe's replace my deck. I am very satisfied with the job, but weeks after I approved the finished job, I noticed that the Lowe's contractor partner had overdriven the nails with his power nail gun. I consider it minor but sloppy workmanship. I went back to Lowe's with photos hoping to get some free wood filler and spatulas to fix the nail problem myself. My salesman's manager gave me that AND a $200 GIFT CARD! Plus an apology. I'm very satisfied. I will use & recommend Lowe's again for similar contracting jobs.
