Derp! We came in here looking for a two-pack of an item, which according to their website they had plenty of. When we arrived to go pick it up off the shelves, we found that instead, we had to grab a slip of paper, and take it to the register so the clerks could go grab it from a separate shelf elsewhere. When we handed the slip over, there was great confusion and problems in finding the item in the back, and apparently they were sold out, contradicting what the website said. So they offered to sell us 2 single packs, but without any kind of price that you get for buying a 2 pack. Instead, it was much more expensive. So we bought one, and called it a day. Gah. We also managed to get some light bulbs with the help of our clerk. It took quite some time to figure out the proper light size and wattage. Gah. This Lowe's was laid out differently from what I'm used to, with the aisles being more jammed together, and a different sort of layout from what I'm used to. Thomas Czarnecki in the Waynesville store was truly excellent. I had a warranty issue with the washer machine that we purchased. I had the extended warranty. He made the whole process so easy. The customer service he gave was excellent. He should go into management. He really knows how to take care of a customer. It seemed that he was the only person who could help me, and he did just that. If you are going to purchase a washer or dryer I highly recommend Thomas Czarnecki, again he was excellent. read more

Of course my dryer decided to stop operating during a pandemic. We have a friend whom is very handy, so we chose for him to install it in lieu of Lowe's employees. We figured that our friend had less exposure to COVID-19 than official installation guys. All the Lowe's dudes had to do was drop the dryer off on a patch of grass by our patio. We had already taken out our broken dryer ourselves to that same patch, so the dudes' job was pretty darn easy. My husband even tipped them. It was a good thing that we chose our friend to install the dryer. Cause those dudes were not masked up. We discovered that the dudes had forgotten to give us the cord for the dryer. So much for double checking. When I called up Lowe's to let them know that we did not have our cord, the woman stated that it was because we had not let the dudes in our house. In effect- the missing cord was our fault. Yep. The woman I spoke with was nice, but was one of those weird people that deny the existence of the pandemic due to overwhelming fear or disbelief that a higher being that is constantly worshipped can have the audacity to let loose a rampant disease upon humankind. This woman forced me to say that I did not let the dudes enter my home. She did not ask the reason for that, because she knew why. But she enjoyed that fact for reasons of her own. I was told that I could pick up a cord curbside, but we later canceled the purchase of it and went to Ace Hardware instead. Heads up- the CDC does indeed have a delivery service and installation service protocol. But Lowe's is just "whatever". read more

Wow - very unfriendly staff. Although I kept smiling the whole time, all of the staff were just shuffling around without and care for customers. It was like no one wanted to interface with a customer. I guess Covid is paying its toll. Showed up for a curbside pickup. Large order of lumber. Front desk brought the receipt .... sent me to back gate (Pro-desk pickup) . Navigated my trailer thru a gauntlet of pallets, moving folk lifts with irritated staff. After several minutes of flagging someone down, the Back gate (pro) pickup said they didn't have it. At least 10 employees approached and no one would lift a finger. Finally one young fellow took the receipt and retuned a while later saying I needed to move the trailer to lawn+garden. I've been flipping/remodeling homes for many years and heavily rely on these types of stores. Not every employee is going to know every last detail of every part and it's location. Some actually do! This particular store in waynesville has very nice, friendly employees. Many REALLY know their stuff and have helped me save on a tremendous amount of headache and time. This Lowe's is conveniently located, employees are very helpful, and they have just about everything anyone will need; any job big or small. This is my store and I'm a very happy customer. read more

We bought a washer and dryer combo in Black Friday. They scheduled delivery for today Sunday 4th from 12-4pm. We confirmed delivery from two different places: Waynesville (washer) and Mills River (dryer and washer machine hoses). Waynesville store delivered on time and they were very helpful. They hooked washer machine and provided with hoses. But, Mills River warehouse was taking longer to deliver the dryer machine and when I called them, Britney said it was ok and that they had until 8pm to deliver it. Around 6pm, she calls again and says that there was a 2-HR delay but she will be calling me to give me updates. About 15 minutes ago, she calls again and says that they cannot deliver dryer machine today and have to reschedule to Tuesday, because tomorrow they couldn't deliver it. My husband got involved in this and when he asked who the supervisor was, she said she was the supervisor. She continued stating that they could not deliver tomorrow because there were other customers scheduled and the only opening was on Tuesday at 8am. Totally unfair, we got delayed and now have to wait because she could not fix the schedule, even being the supervisor. I really hope they deliver the dryer on time, because they installed the washer machine but not capable of delivering the dryer as scheduled. Lowe's used to be very good long time ago. Now, I wouldn't recommend anyone to buy there anymore. Horrible customer service. read more

Been a resident to this area for about a year now, and have learned to try other stores first; especially since the onset of the COVID restrictions. The staff has a tendency to ignore you while waiting in line at customer service or the registers (and not just me); including walking away before something to the effect of "I'll be right back" to even acknowledge that someone is standing there. Don't expect to find more than one person per section either, and learn to push the customer needs assistance buttons if no one shows up within two minutes - repeatedly. However, and in their defense, they do appear to always be hiring. So, for whatever reason(s), they have employee recruitment and or retention challenges. I cannot say that I will not shop here again, as this location does have most of the stuff other Lowe's has; however, this is not my first choice when selecting hardware, lumber, tools, or appliances. read more

If Concerned About COVID 19 Don't Do It! Just not safe! Customers had face covers, employees not so much! Today, early morning, employees in back corners without masks! In store, almost have of employees with masks had them off of their noses (!)..MUST cover nose and mouth...Some had plastic face shields. No proof these stop the spread. Curbside recently--had to tell employee bringing items to car to pull face cover over her nose--when she knocked on our window to sign (this contact not necessary, ordered online)! Store needs management safety monitoring.If customers wear masks to keep y'all safe, then employees should wear cloth masks (over nose and mouth!) to keep us safe! Outside register (much safer!) in garden area--not open this am! Won't go back!--Didn't have half of what we needed anyway. read more

The customer service here as a whole was sorely disappointing. Victoria was rude and rolled her eyes when we expressed concern regarding the 15 minute wait at the front desk to pick up a purchase that had to be retrieved from the cage. 15 minutes is 10 minutes too long given that we already purchased the item and there were three people behind the desk. Looking at other reviews on here, poor customer service seems to be the trend. To point out great customer service, Jonathan who helped us in plumbing/toilets went above and beyond to be helpful. I was surprised by the low reviews since moving to the area. The Lowes that I have previously shopped at have had very high reviews. I learned since shopping here that their ratings are earned. While it is NOT the fault of most employees, but apparently a management issue with proper procedures and efficiency that have earned this store their ratings. I found four windows on their web site that were IN STOCK at 10:00 pm (store closed). I purchased them so I could install over the weekend. I just received a call this morning that there are only 3 windows in stock and it will be TWO WEEKS until the fourth window comes in. I asked if another store nearby had the 4th window (figuring I would drive to the other store to get it). She returned to the phone and said, "yes, it will be two weeks before we have the fourth window". Understand, they are the only large home center in town. However there is Haywood Builders and Ace Truevalue if price is not the issue, but service is. *****Update***** They continue to amaze. Walked in the commercial entrance at 5:35 pm. 2 people behind the register. I ASKED if they would be there for a few minutes. They said YES. I figured they are open past 5:30, so I would get back to the register before 6:00 and I would be good. I went to lumber, saw about 5 Lowes employees hanging out, talking. I asked where a specific type of wood was. They pointed at it and walked away. I needed help loading about 400 board feet of lumber, and nobody came back or offered to help. I go back at 5:45 pm to the register and its all closed up. I walked into the yard where the group of 5 Lowes employees was now hanging out. They told me I would have to push this lumber cart the length of the store to the front register. Then, turn around and push it the length of the store back to 30 feet from where I was standing, to load it in my truck. Yes, I did that. NO, nobody offered to help load my truck. How does this store manage to operate when stores in other markets have true service for their customers? I shouldn't be exhausted and dripping with sweat when I walk out of a Lowes store! There are 3 other hardware choices in Waynesville. I think everyone should be encouraged to use them. They do not ignore their customers. They are each doing well because people are looking for an alternative to this poor service. read more

I called the store and ordered an expensive Gas oven on Feb. 21. I ordered it from this store, because It is for my vacation home in the area. The oven had to be ordered. Oven Finally arrived on May 12. Didn't know it had arrived, until I received a call that they were on the way ti deliver it! Not good, as I had told Lowe's to make a note that I did not live there and to please let me know when it arrived, I would need to make appt. for delivery. I made an appt. for June 4, AM delivery, which I made a point to stop in Lowe's on Wed., as I arrived in town to double check my delivery time. I was told I was the first delivery by customer service. I had arranged for the gas company to disconnect the old oven on June 3, prior to delivery and reschedule them to connect the new stove, after delivery on June 4, PM...Also arranged for Habitat to pick up the old stove on June 4 PM. I would/ should have been able to use the oven whole I was at the house. I did not have access to my oven and will not until I return on June 30, and I have rescheduled the gas company to reconnect. Lowe's did nothing but lie to me... delivery person said it out right, my delivery was pushed back because a large contractor had 8 appliances he wanted delivered. It will be a very long time before I ever shop in Lowe's again... i have been a very good customer, spent several thousands of dollars remodeling homes and customer loyalty does not mean a thing to them!!! read more

I've been a customer for four years now and I have not had too any issues with this location. Inventory is usually good, customer service is good. (If you do have a problem, ask for manager). Any issues I have had have always been resolved. I have purchased from every department and have bought appliances with delivery and installation. Did have some issues with lost paperwork that delayed an installation, but it was resolved. I try to use local stores as much as possible but the materials cost on large jobs is always better at Lowe's and the inventory is usually better also. read more

Very slow customer service. Paint department leaves a lot to be desired - management should hire people who pay attention and are at least knowledgable about paint products. took about 45 minutes to mix up two quarts of paint! And the appliance department also needs better customer service - the outright lied about appliance repair as we had a oven that would not work and was purchased at lowe's by the previous owner of our house. They could not give us repair information and insisted that we had to buy a new oven. All-in-all - if you can even find a manager to ask questions - they are more annoyed than helpful read more

This Waynesville Lowe's is absolutely the worst store I have ever been in. They simply do not know the meaning of customer service. Nobody ever around to help you, and when you find someone they pass you around from associate to associate. Don't bother pulling into the curbside pick up area and expect them to bring your order, they put a phone number on a sign that nobody answers. I placed an order on line that was supposed to be in more than a week ago, no notification on the status. I have called numerous times in the last week and nobody answers the phone, when you push a bunch of buttons and finally get through to someone they put you on hold forever and just hope you hang up. We bought a dishwasher in November, 2017. It was installed by PlumbSmart plumbing company in Asheville, NC. The next day there was water dripping in our basement and in the cabinet under the sink. We have a wood floor in the kitchen, and it buckled. Lowe's guarantees the product and the installation, but it has been extremely difficult to get Jessica Williams (Senior Claims Examiner), the person assigned to our case, to return phone calls and emails. I have made numerous calls to her which she never returned. The company is obviously trying to get out of the claim. We are so disappointed in the way that we have been treated throughout this ordeal I would not recommend having ANYTHING installed through Lowe's. read more

Bought KITCHEN REMODEL through Lowes and JL Builders did the work. Some of their work was good, but mostly it was sloppy, slow and negligent. They screwed things up almost daily. The workers spilled concrete all over my office, causing thousands of dollars worth of damage and JL Builders and Lowes were extremely reluctant to fix any of it. They are completely screwing me over! I was supposed to have a washer delivered today and no one showed up. Unbelievable. We haven't had a washer in over a week now and have laundry piled up expecting to be able to take care of it today. Lowes just called us a day ago confirming the delivery too!! DO NOT GO HERE!!!Got a washer dryer and microwave. Paid for installation and disposal of our old microwave. I was not home and the workers took advantage of the kindness of my girlfriend. They said they needed extra parts and had to come back the next day BUT she had to sign them and there that they already installed and disposed the microwaves. She did so, TRUSTING that they were professionals and true men of their word. This was NOT the case at all. They NEVER CAME BACK. And we have tried over and over to contact the store to sort the situation out but nobody EVER answers the phone and at the end you cannot even leave a voicemail!!! Unreal. Customer service is NON EXISTENT. DO NOT GO HERE. I even tried other departments just to speak with ANYONE but this was to no avail. GO TO HOME DEPOT, go ANYWHERE ELSE. If you're considering using Lowe's for mid-range to high-end cabinetry and counter tops, please reconsider. Find an independent shop - - or even make the drive to West Asheville and go to The Home Depot! Lowe's doesn't have what it takes to pull it off. After a lengthy ordeal dealing with everyone from the local design person, the cabinet and counter install people and their CPO folks, I feel like they're in over their heads and you will be incredibly disappointed, at best. Not worth saving a few extra dollars. I could write a book about our kitchen and bathroom design and install nightmares. Furthermore, what irked me the most, is that they didn't really seem to care. They delayed us getting into our new home by almost 3 months. And, if I hadn't been a "squeaky wheel", we still might not be in. I have been shopping at this terrible store for eight years! I so wish they had put a Home Depot in Waynesville, this store would be out of business in a matter of weeks. There is no such thing as helpful people in the store, that is if you can find someone! Several items that were returned by other people were restocked even with defective tags on them. This is the only store in my life that I dread having to go to! Just yesterday I purchased a fluorescent ceiling light , opened the box and the plastic cover was all broken in pieces. I went to Lowe's last weekend to purchase shades for our deck. Online it showed that they had 4 in stock (which I know isn't always correct). When I got there I found 2 so I pushed the button on the next isle for assistance. When the employee came (within a couple of minutes) he was not very friendly. When I stated that I could only find two and online it shows that 4 are in stock, he rudely said "they're right there" and I probably rudely said, "those are the wrong size. Well he looked it up on there computer and said well it shows that we have 8 in stock. Well after about 15 minutes of looking on the tops of the shelves from the ground he couldn't find them. So I took the two I found and also paid for the other 2. He wrote my name and number and told me when his manager returned he would ask about them and call me. Well 6 days later and still NO CALL! When I got home I could tell that one of the shades had been opened. And of course the brackets to hang them are missing. After looking at the receipt the employee that helped me put in the order that I would pick up the other 2 on 07/29. I have no idea where he came up with that date because I am STILL waiting for a phone call from him or his manager. I looked online today and it is showing that they have 3 in stock. I have decided that tomorrow morning I am going to the store and look if they have any on the shelf. If they do I will return the one missing the brackets. If they don't I am going to return it to the store in West Asheville where the customer service is MUCH better and this is where I will go from now on, And I will get a refund for the other 2. read more

I go to the Lowes here in Waynesville mostly out of convenience to my house.. The workers there are for the most part very friendly and knowledgable about their assigned areas... That said this week I had an ordeal that I reeeeellly feel I need to comment on... There were some steel shelves on sale at a good price so I and my sister-in-law decided that we would get 4 of them... online info indicated that they had 20 so no problem right? well, no wrong .. So I am in the store looking for them, then asked an employee about them and to his credit help us look, or we helped him look for about an hour for them. only to discover that they had not been brought down (off of the racks) yet and no one knew where they were put.. so I was asked to give a phone number and the would call me when they were found DID NOT HAPPEN so I called again went through the lengthy menu and was told by a customer service person they would transfer me to someone who could help... did not happen.. called back and the same thing happened again.. till finally I was told to call today to see if they had found them ( which by the way was in the brochure flyer this week) So I called again to no avail.... being a bit tenacious and yes ticked off I called again..and this time I got a young lady named Spencer to help me and she did.. and a man named Titus as well.. so I got the racks and am happy with them but listen up Lowes of Waynesville.. I have a lot more I need to buy but I really think I will have to rethink where I get it now.. NOT good business. or service.. read more

I've shopped at this store for over four years because, as another reviewer said, it's the only game in town. I've had to insist on spending money there for big items such as a refrigerator because the salespeople are completely uninterested in helping out. The only reason I found the refrigerator I wanted is that the factory rep was there and did their selling for them. We had to interupt a conversation among salespersons so that I could drop a thousand dollars into their cash register. Because of sales personel this Lowe's lost my business on a water heater as well as carpet and vinyl as well as anything else I can purchase somewhere else. The monoply is their only asset. read more
