I adore this place. One of my favs for furniture of varying price and quality. Seriously we talking $5-$1000. The space is great. Minus the parking. It's a mess. With people entering and exiting the wrong way. At least I have been able to always find a spot. The interior is two levels. One of mostly furniture and some rugs and one with smaller furniture and home decor/ books. The first level has a ton of toilets, desks, tables, chairs etc. always a nice rug collection. The second level has couches and things like dishwater and frames. Surprisingly good collection of affordable books. Had I more time I'd stay longer. And if they had more games and clothes I'd pick it over goodwill just due to the price, quality, organization, and staff. They are serious about the 6 pm closing tho. Well To them; it's 5:30-5:45. I have been trying....for over a year....to contact Habitat, to update my credit card number...since my previous number was compromised & canceled. I am either transferred overseas...where I am told they cannot do this....or....calling the US headquarters in GA....where I am told ...NO Supervisors ....are available to help with this request & problem. !!! I keep getting letters from Habitat....THANKING ME for my donations & support.....when I HAVE NOT made any donations.... because they have chosen to IGNORE my requests to continue giving !! I was giving $50 each month, before this happened. Something is SERIOUSLY WRONG with the upper management of this company !!!! They are crying for money....YET...they WON'T assist you in making donations !! Jimmy Carter would be SO... VERY....DISAPPOINTED & UPSET ....to know this happening at the charity that he LOVED SO MUCH !!!! read more

Always stop in the Restore anytime we are in the area. This is the only Restore we have found that has not raised prices to such a ridiculous level since reopening from the lock down and still have bargain prices on most of their items unlike most other Restores these days. Scored some really good bargains. I got a heat gun for $2 when the Restore near my house wants $15 for theirs. Also got a Husky 5 drawer tool chest for just $25. Wife picked up few kitchen items including a nutmeg grater made in Japan for just 50 cents. We spent $40 here which is the most we have spent in any Restore since they have reopened from the lock down because they still have bargain prices here unlike most Restores who now price used items at retail or beyond or put some very insanely high price on something that looks like it needs to be thrown on the trash. read more

The building got revamped a little while ago and it's much fancier now, which also means the prices went up. It used to be you could go in there and get some great deals, but now it's more of an antique store. I can never understand insane prices at places that run on donations, but whatever. I think everything is way too expensive. And that's Asheville for ya. They have a pretty good little bookstore and record store there now, but of course don't expect to find any great deals since everything is now individually and accordingly priced. I guess I gotta stop treating the place like a thrift store and accept it as what it is. A store. Great place to find linens (which actually are really cheap. I got a Queen set there once for $3) and odds and ends for home construction. And sometimes they have really crazy stuff like a hang glider, so you just never know. read more

This place is amazing. I bought so much of the furniture for my house here at unbelievable prices. I got a Pottery Barn slip covered sofa - $2900 retail - for $50 because the slip covers were stained. My Thomasville King Sleigh bed was $350. I've found original art work, won some of their wonderful auctions, and I run by at least once a week to see what else I can find!! read more

I love this store so much! My family hates when I go, however, because I stay forever. I like their selection of furniture, and we've gotten some items from the "construction" section as I call it - where they have building materials, sinks, bathtubs, appliances etc. We've gotten a couple of good office chairs over the years as well. But my heart really lies in their book section. It is a separate section in the store, and feels like a free standing used bookstore. There are sections for each book type, and things are alphabetized within their section. They have a lot of selection and their stock is replenished constantly. The prices are excellent - usually $2 to $5 per book. This book hoarder can't even guess how many books I've gotten here over the years. You can't beat the thrill of finding that certain book you've been wanting for $2! I used to always go on Fridays, when the same woman would always be working. (I wish I could think of her name.) She got to where she understood my reading tastes, and would ask me how I liked certain books I'd bought on previous trips. She never even acted annoyed that I usually stayed until the minute the store was closing. read more

More expensive than several nearby antique stores with poorer quality. I saw a mid century modern dining set in poor shape priced $100 more than a similar set in better shape at a different antique store the same day. No deals indeed. I wouldn't mind paying fair market value for cool stuff but everything I saw was more expensive than comparable stuff elsewhere. Not worth scouting out. read more

I am surprised that this place does not have more reviews. It's great. So, entering and parking can be a bit daunting. Travel down a long road, and find a parking space- quick! When you enter, you will of course see everything for home improvement and home building. They get donations from all sorts of sources, so it pays to check it out often. They have common stuff and stuff that only Bob Vila would know how to use. Sports gear is to the front left. Washers and driers are straight ahead. I saw a Maytag Neptune. (Be careful of that brand's washer- they had a mold problem once.) Tubs are to the back left. All sorts. Furniture is there, somewhere. Rugs are there for you or not for you. There is a ramp and steps to get to the "enrichment for the soul" section at the way back of the store. There are seasonal items, especially Xmas stuff. We saw a pulpit with a mic and my husband stopped to preach his gospel. The preacher that let his flock stray also donated all his church benches so you can rejoice in the fact that your tush has extra padding when you sit on them. Some items are biddable. Most are not. Some are way overpriced. Most are not. Dishware ranges from beat-up to fine English. Ever-present knickknacks are knockin' around. The fact that a repro of an interesting, wooden box as "vintage" from circa 1991 is insulting to me. Price was too high, anyway, so check those tags! Craft stuff is here, on the end caps by the windows. Lamps were terrible. Some items are laid out as special finds, so look for them. Records are in front of the book section. The book section is almost separate, and you pay for them separately as well. The books are also separated by subject. Sci-fi and photography are there. Paperbacks, too, and they are arranged alphabetically by author's surname. Nice! Fine art is in the book section. Get in some quality museum time by checking them out. They are in the hundreds of dollars. Look carefully at them before purchase. Before paying, look for well priced lightbulbs near the register. Look in front of the register for big, lawn related items. We saw a backpack leaf blower. My husband walked out with an edger and a standard leaf blower at great prices. He actually cleaned up the parking lot before getting in the car! They check out everything before putting it up for sale. If you discover that you bought a dud, you can return it within a certain time frame that is reasonable. I hope to return soon, minus the feet-away-loitering woman who claimed the register with a tepid smile and a cart jerk even though I was there first, a woman in her fifties shocked that strangers dare to talk to her, and the parents who just call their running toddler instead of running themselves to prevent him from getting run over by a Land Rover. I needed Richard Pryor for all three of these incidents; it's unfortunate that he is deceased. Home is where the heart is, and I heart this store. read more

With all they good they do, so sad that one of their poorly trained employees just walks up to me and asked me to pay for what was in my pocket. I politely showed her where what she was looking for was and gave them a $20.00 donation, and politely told her how outragoeus she was. Doubt I will ever set foot in there again. Trying not to let it ruin my day or opinion of this great organization but they need better training. read more

My Wife and I have been going consistently for a year now and have found some excellent deals but in the past few months we have noticed a substantial increase in prices. We think that is self defeating the whole purpose of re-use and we may soon stop going as it is getting to expensive. read more
