I was the only one there when I arrived, but as I left, there were a couple of other people. One was being serviced and the other one was waiting or her term. There were two people working there, one in the front and one in the back room. I didn't have to pay for this scan, the company gave me paperwork, but I would come here because of the lack of hassle. Did a walk in appointment to get a live scan background check for a family member who was unable to do this successfully at several USPS locations. The personnel here were extremely helpful, they figured out the problem (excessive perspiration on fingers) and worked to fix this. They were also great at explaining the different confusing background check procedures. Despite the somewhat sketchy neighborhood (across from the Oakland PD Headquarters) I would definitely come back here again. Great job guys! read more

I let my guard license expire then I decided to do security again, so I have to start the process all over again and I'm looking in places for Vallejo to do this and all of a sudden I remembered LPG because that's where I first got licensed to their website found a class I was looking on Wednesday found a class for Thursday paid the fee which was 230 which included my application fee my life scan, and the training courses I need Were use of force and power to arrest. The class was explained very simply. It's a easy process and they told us it would take two weeks to six weeks to get a license. Well mines only took one day. I did the class on Thursday. I checked I was checking my email on Saturday and boom my license was there so they did a great job and helping me into getting my license again I would definitely, advise anybody who's considering doing security guard to use this company? read more

I was a little nervous coming in because of the reviews i wasn't ready to wait a long time to get my fingerprints scanned. so i sent a message VIA yelp to see if i could make an appointment and Matt the owner got back to me saying they weren't every busy and but if i wanted to book an appointment i could and he sent me the link. so after spending hours in the clinic a few blocks away i ran down to get my live scan and it literally took 5 min. I was so happy. Matt did my live scan and he was very nice. He told me to relax and he did all the work while scanning and it made things so fast he go them all done without having to re-do any fingers. (some people expect you to know what to do then get mad when they have to re-do them.) but matt knows how to get them done quick and effortlessly. read more

As a licensed armed guard, I was skeptical about the effectiveness of the impact of batons but today at LPG in Oakland, I was surprised with the instructor Mr. Phil Chachere's skills as a retired police officer (great man). Mr. Phil shared memories from his law enforcement experience, which were relevant to baton training & movements while teaching you the best skills he has. I really recommend LPG and Mr. Phil. I walked out of LPG class with confidence, because I learned baton skills and details of the law in California about how to use, secure, and defend myself with a baton. LPG is equipped with all you need during training and provide you with the baton. YOU DO NOT NEED TO BUY A BATON PRIOR TO TRAINING because you can learn a variety of options after class. I highly recommend LPG for your security guard pieces of training. They are professional, neat, affordable, and very organized in process of transferring the required skills for your certificate. The whole process was quick and painless (got in and out within 30 minutes with no appointment), just don't forget your request form. Compared to the other live scans I have gotten elsewhere, the gentlemen who helped me with my fingerprints was more gentle. In terms of price, LPG provides the most competitive price ($69 to have it sent to DOJ/FBI). Bonus: $5 off with Yelp check-in! (so $64 total!)
