The last brewery on my Rochester brewing-spree was LTS Brewing. There was a bags tournament going on, but I was there for a flight of beer and just a flight of beer (I'm no good at bags anyway). The space is large, but cozy. They had cocktails, seltzers, and of course beer on tap. Some of the cocktails sounded delicious and I almost pulled the trigger on an Amaretto Sour inspired seltzer cocktail; however, I stuck with a flight of four beers. Inspiration An American IPA recommended as the guy next to me at the bar's favorite. It is a combination of American and New Zealand hops in both the brewing kettle and in the fermenter (dry hop). Medium pine and melon, medium-low bitterness, and medium-low malt. Popped A Cream Ale brewed in collaboration with Chaotic Good Brewing using 50lb of air popped popcorn. Medium-low malt flavor with a hint of sweetness (sweet bread almost), popcorn provides a lovely complexity to the bear, and there is very low perceived bitterness. My favorite of the four! Great job done by both breweries on this. Biergarten A good old fashioned Helles with a slight sweetness, spicy hop profile, and low bitterness. Clear, crisp, and easy to drink. Bock Bock Bock As you can guess, a Bock brewed with SEVEN malts. The Dark German Munich is most apparent and it is fermented with a bock lager yeast. A darker beer, but still lighter bodied with a ton of complex malt flavors like caramel, toasted bread crust, and even a hint of molasses. _______________________ read more

My wife and I grabbed two pints, ordered some food, and headed outside. We wanted to enjoy the pleasant weather with our beers. They have a large patio for outside seating with a view of the bags tournament! As we were drinking our beers, the bags, boards, and players kept increasing in their nearby field. By the time we left there were an impressive number of games happening. If I lived in Rochester, I would definitely be here for bags night every week. Everyone looked like they were having a lot of fun. The beers were pretty good. Unfortunately for the food, we had to remind them several times that we had a food order before it was finally brought out. Our 2nd stop in Rochester after grabbing some grub and beer at Forager. It's just a few minutes down the road. Since it was earlyish on a Sunday, there weren't many people inside (too hot to sit outside!). Actually I don't know the brewery scene in Rochester, so maybe that was typical. Anyway, props to the server who lost his shit when he saw my dragon, that's probably the most severe reaction I've ever seen to my harmless 20 inch long reptile :) More bare bones decor in this brewery than most but that's OK, if the beer is good I'll drink it in a run down shack if I need to. We sat at the bar and ordered a flight. Trying to remember what exactly was on tap but alas. I know we had the kolsch, I believe there was also a tripel, and the crtl+alt+delete plus cherry and berry infusions of one of their base beers. The beers were solid, the cherry infusion was probably my fav. My husband got a bowl of the popcorn but put way too much salt in it and made it inedible, thanks babe. We left happy and full of good beer. Rochester seems to be putting on a good show of craft beer - cheers! read more

Nice low-key place with great beer! Not very crowded, but plenty of seating- bar, high top and low top tables, and some couches! They have free popcorn, several party-type games like Cards Against Humanity, and tvs (but no cable). They dont serve food, but you can order delivery there or bring your own food! Great place to get some people together, we had a potluck. I'm picky about my beer, and they had so much options that I really enjoyed! Great variety, including a couple IPAs to some German styles. I got a flight to start ($6 for 4 filled-to-the-rim tasters) and that was definitely the way to go, to figure out what I liked best, which ended up being Karma their Kolsch. It had a great note of honey. They also serve craft sodas, and you can get growlers of the beer to go for $12. read more

We just went for the first time to fill a growler and we'll be back. Super friendly staff--the bartender took the time to wash our growler for us (which we'd brought in clean, but we definitely appreciate the attention to detail) and they seal those suckers well--she used a shrink wrap band over a screw top. Great place to bring groups. Their beer is always fantastic (my favorites are any IPA of theirs, the altbier to name a few), and a couple months ago they had a helles that was out of this world good. Staff friendly and very attentive, which is difficult to find. Staff actively engaged with the community. These people care a great deal about the job they are doing and it shows. This is probably the best brewery in Rochester. I've been in few times and I've never had a bad beer. The staff is great, the're very knowledgeable and helpful. It's great place for a small get- together as they have a variety of beers to suit almost everyone's taste, they even have craft sodas for the DDs and non-drinkers. They have a few large tables and some smaller quite ones tucked in the corners. It's pretty lively but not so loud you can't have a conversation. They don't serve food but have all the menus for the local delivery places. read more

I've been here ~5 times; maybe once a month. Bartender remembered my name and what I liked to drink. Their standard IPA is the best in Rochester; just wish they would have food trucks more often. We are quite frequently going to new breweries, and I must say this one is comparable to Forager for beer taste. Did flights of all the beers and took home 4 growlers. Inside is nothing special - only bar seating or 6-top tables (suggestion: a table for 2 or 4 would be nice). It was so loud inside that I could barely hear the person I was with (though we were on the opposite side from anyone else), so we went outside - much better! The tent was down, which I imagine would be scorching inside. It was dusk so cooled down, but gets very hot when sun beating down. Umbrellas (suggestion 2) would help since there's no shade. They serve butterless, flavorless popcorn, no food menu. There was a food truck once when I was here and they also allow you to bring in outside food, so plan accordingly. The beers and sodas are good and this is why we are here. Hoping to check out a tour at some point, but their site doesn't give any upcoming dates. read more

The second best brewery in Rochester, but in my opinion not too far behind (and well in front of Kinney Creek and Grand Rounds). Nice, if not simple interior. Clean and modern in style that new microbreweries seem to be opening in these days. They have a decent selection of beer and self-serve popcorn off to the side as well as a collection of board games from which to choose. Never been here in nice weather so I've never sat on the patio but looks to have some outside space. Unfortunately, LTS is the only of the 4 Rochester Breweries that is not within walking distance for me. They also have a couple of craft sodas available for their NA or underage friends. read more

This is a brewery with bad popcorn. They sometimes have a food truck come in the parking lot as well. Ive been here a few times but its not my favorite brewery in town and I find the beer just okay. The atmosphere could really use an upgrade, the bar and viewable brewery are cool but when I was first there they had decent tables but also some old dirty looking craigslist couch. My favorite brewery in town, by far! Simple interior with varied seating options - we usually go for the couches in the back corner. One beer here will probably make your entire day better. I go for the Belgian style beer called Fun, while my partner gets the hoppier options of Inspiration or Introspection. They offer house made soda-pop too, which are pretty neat and inviting to familes. They also have lots of game options, both inside and outside on the patio. They don't sell food, so we usually bring our take-out here or order delivery, which they encourage for hungry customers. Nice patio area, which is dog friendly - kind of rare for Rochester!! The Tuesday night trivia here is also a blast - they give you a free drink each round you win and a different, bigger prize for the overall winners... I love the beer here and coming here for a drink - we live on the south end of town and make the longer drive for this place because we love it so much. A lot of people will bike here in the summer, and I'm pretty sure they offer discounts for bikers. It's a wonderful place to be. read more
