1st? I LOVE when a menu has PICTURES. What I love even more? When EVERY ITEM on the menu has a picture! This cafe was adorable, dog themed and had very tasteful decorations inside. There's a bar area, indoor and outdoor seating. The ladies working there were very kind and drinks/food was served quick. Food tastes wonderful, everyone enjoyed their meals- potato's & mofongo were crispy and perfectly salted. I loved my 4 golpes the fried cheese and spam were so good. Our table had zero complaints. Coffee tasted great too. A much needed brunch spot especially after arriving from the airport. Would definitely recommend. read more

Giving this place 2 stars because we had great service and food when we visited last year, but this time it was a completely different experience. The service was not great at all. We constantly had to ask the server to come back to refill our water, order more drinks, and clear the table so we had some space. Our glasses were empty for quite a while, and when they came to pick up our plates, they left the empty mimosa glasses without asking if we wanted another round. On top of that, the food came out cold and had very little flavor, which was really disappointing. I'm a big fan of a good brunch spot, but unfortunately this one just didn't deliver. Located across from Pena Blanca restaurant, little brunch place with a doggie motive. The place is very trendy, nicely decorated and cozy. Already had lunch, so we opted for the cookie cup coffee. I had the dirty chai in the cookie cup and my hubby had the cappuccino in the snickerdoodle cookie cup, with whip cream and cinnamon. Both selections were amazing. It was the best guava chimmichuri I have ever had on my med rare steak, sunnyside eggs, home fries all perfectly cooked and seasoned. The Pan Sabao French toast was pretty good. Love the local bread but a little too soft for my taste, needed a crisp to it but the guava sauce and honey whipped butter... chef's kiss. My husband had the smoked salmon and it was so good! Toasted sourdough and herb whipped cream cheese... with a little salad. The lattes were perfect, not too sugary and beautifully made. To top off a great meal, the service was wonderful. We randomly stopped in after paddle boarding right down the street. It's very cute inside and the food was delicious! We both had the breakfast tacos and then we shared the cinnamon French toast dish. Which was amazing! I believe the name of our waitress was Bianca and she was very sweet and an excellent server. Walking into the restaurant we were immediately taken in by the decorative concept- Dogs with all kinds of cuteness. And, dogs are welcome. The restaurant is very clean looking and smelling so no worries there. We started with cappuccino presented in a Cookie Cup and the Woofle Old Fashioned. Both drinks were great and served almost immediately by the very friendly and helpful server. Then our Croquetas Puertoriqueños arrived. These can be described as a whole meal in an appetizer. Perfectly balanced and with fresh avocado on top. Lastly, our meals arrived. Hubby had Avocado Toast. He was mostly happy aside from the tomato on the Avocado Toast was overripe so he set it aside, and happily ate the rest. I had the Eggs Benedict with Smoked Salmon with a side of the Truffle Fries ( fries w/ garlic, truffle oil, cilantro, and Parmesan cheese). Delicious! The "New York steak" was flavorful, but it was a bad cut full of gristle & fat, so rare that it was inedible. Our second visit to Lucas & Ella's, tell you what, over the top service and the food is just mind blowing! I had the the yogurt parfait. All I can say is the fresh fruit and toasted almonds and honey had me all smiles, the hubby had the salmon toast with greens -- he couldn't stop eating it for me to get a picture!
