I called and spoke to the office and they said they'd look for them, but that it takes 2-3 weeks to get a bid. I asked the person, how far out they are booking. She responded, it depends on how fast you get the contract back to them. The problem is I CAN'T EVEN GET THE PROPOSAL so how can I send a contract back to them? If you can't even get the estimate/contract to the client and have poor communication and customer service, why would I hire you to put on 2 new roofs? If you are too busy, just decline the work when the customer calls.

Forget that they were a week late getting our permit and we lost an entire week of business for no…read morereason, forget that he had no idea how to work with the coastal commission (although he had told us he'd done work in the area before) and when they didn't approve our color choice all the materials had to be sent back and new material ordered and delivered (and he tried to tell us WE would have to pay a restocking fee--we didn't), forget that every mistake he makes he will offer you 15 minutes of excuses and then try to frame it like he's doing you a favor, forget that despite giving detailed instructions on how to handle working on our property while we were open for business (since we had to finish the project once we were open again because it wasn't finished on time) which he would readily agree to and then never pass along those instructions to his crew, forget that my husband had to double check all his work, forget that he put gutter screens on WITH DEBRIS IN THE GUTTERS--The reason I am writing this is because of the overt and insulting sexism I had to deal with IN MY OWN PLACE OF BUSINESS. Any time I called them out for being late, not doing what was promised, or giving any instructions at all, both Shane and his father would make comments to my husband saying things like "Your wife yelled at us" and other completely sexist comments with a wink-wink TO MY OWN HUSBAND as though they had some bro-club and could talk about me that way to him. This is exactly the issue with sexism--any woman exerting any kind of authority gets called out as bossy or a shrew--and the fact that I had paid $70,000 for a job just to have the people I hired speak about me that way is unacceptable. I am a small business owner--we have put years of blood, sweat, and tears to be able to open this business and the money that was being paid to him was every bit as much as my money as my husband's. What's worse is that I shouldn't have to justify myself at all. I hired him for a job, I expect respect and I shouldn't have to demand it. I only give two stars because ultimately we are satisfied with his work, although only the test of time can tell with a roof. He also gave us a few perks due to his mistakes. Mostly I am just glad to never have to speak to him again.
