It was a beautiful day for outdoor seating and there was a great family friendly outdoor patio available as well as some tables on the lawn. There is indoor seating as well. We sat outside. Fast friendly service. Waitress helpful with answering questions about menu. My favorite dish from Lucharitos is the Mexican street corn! Will order it every time. Also ordered the off the smoker bbq pork butt taco-yum! Shrimp quesadilla and a burrito. Burrito was huge! Always have to enjoy a margarita at Lucharitos-many flavors to choose from. After opening my takeout, I realized that this business decided to decrease their portions by 25%. A quesadilla used to be 4 nicely portioned pieces. Lucharitos is so good!! It's worth the drive for me. Loved everything from start to finish. I ordered the pomegranate margarita with salt. Really good, would have it again, and it was strong too. For a starter the trio nachos was recommended and it was a big hit! It was shared with three people and it was devoured completely. Loved that it had 3 different meats in the nachos. For the entree hubby ordered the smoked tacos, the bbq one and the duck one. My son tried the smoked bbq taco too and also ordered a burrito. I went with the chicken salad. Side note, I don't know why Yelp keeps saying I'm in San Francisco. I live in Center Moriches. The food is tasty enough, but here a few things to consider: 1. They will screw up your order. Every single time. And I'm not talking about tiny, honest mistakes, I'm talking about them giving you the wrong food. Items that are not even close to what you asked for, so please check your order before you leave. 2. The prices have gone insane. A year ago a typical burrito or quesadilla was around $16, now it's more like $20. A side of queso was $6, now it's $10. We're talking about 25-75% price increases virtually overnight, so don't blame inflation, that's not how it works. This is greed. 3. We made our last take out order online, which was a mistake. I missed the "service fee". Our order was about $90 before tax and they added service fees of $13. With fees and tax we were up to $116, and then they prompt you to leave a 22% tip for takeout. What was the service fee for if you still want a tip? We won't be back. read more

last evening Bon G. and I went to Atlantic Seafood for fresh cherrystones but were unable to snag an outside table...so we went to Lucharitos down the road a piece for Mexican food. This place is really cool! The restaurant is not open yet due to permits but they have a large corner footprint with picnic tables spread out over the property....with hanging lights and some with firepits. We ordered wonderful Pulled Pork Nachos for an appy and Tacos for mains. I got the Pork Butt and Duck Tacos and BJ got the Duck and Mahi tacos...both excellent and very filling. Now its BYOB till the main restaurant opens...We enjoyed the food and the service was great...A definite find in the Center Moriches. read more

Sorry to say but the honeymoon is over Lucharitos. 2 years ago I wrote a stellar 5 star review but 40 check ins later I am sad to say that you have lost my business for a very long time if not for good. Arrived before 5pm. Waited at the outdoor hostess stand for over 10 minutes. (Plenty of tables open)Told by multiple staff, I'll be right with you. Once seated the waiting continued. After waiting another 10 minutes we just got up and left. Multiple times you have screwed up our takeout orders & from what I've heard it has happened to many people I know. The service almost always sucks unless you sit at the bar inside the restaurant which has uncomfortable chairs. They don't offer happy hour and at $13 a margarita (last year they were $12) they for sure skimp on the tequila. And the prices here have skyrocketed. $18 for 8 wings. $7.25 for a shrimp taco. $18 for nachos. What an absolute joke.(btw the nachos at Painter's are way better and double the size) And I'm sick of hearing "please be patient I know service is slow but no one wants to work." Really because every other restaurant we frequent doesn't have these issues. Anyhoo, We left and went to Rhum in Patchogue. Although it was busy we were seated as soon as we walked in. Waitress was at our table within a few minutes. Had our cocktails a few minutes after that. They have excellent happy hour deals and their food is fantastic and reasonably priced. Locals love this place and have no problem overpaying for food and drink because there is nothing like it in the area, great they can have it. We went last week and the food and service was outstanding. Tonight, not so much. First issue if I wanted to listen to BLASTING Rhianna I'd go to a bar. 2nd your waitress needs to know what alcohol is available at the bar. 3rd she should check in. 4th when one dinner is served SOMEBODY should notice and it shouldn't take me flagging down a bartender to get the waitress and it shouldn't take cancelling dinner to get a managers attention. Went there for dinner with my wife last night at 7:00 p.m. they put our name on the list said it would be about a half hour. So I went to the bar and ordered two drinks for $35 in Dixie cups. 45 minutes later I get a phone call saying that they can't seat us because the kitchen is backed up and we'll have to go find some place else to eat. Absolutely unacceptable, they should have accommodated the people that they put on the list and stopped any further reservations from that point. Extremely bad management of the situation. We are very disappointed on how the situation was managed. All the people that were on the waiting list should have been comped and there were at least 10 parties. Today I went to lucharitos to meet Matt. I made him giggle and he spit some guac out on me. The men valeting in the parking lot were sweaty and dedicated. There were only about 4 cars in the parking lot, but they had valet anyway. My car was still playing bangarang by skrillex when he got in the car, but he didn't make fun of me so that was nice. Update: This will be our last time going here. I had no problem originally giving 5/5 stars despite the consistently high $400+ bill, but after today we will be making margaritas and tacos at home. They gave us bootleg chips out of a bag instead of the ones they make, ALL the margaritas were $20 each when only half our party asked for upgraded tequila, and they put a mandatory 20% gratuity- giving the woman a $120 tip after she messed up and "accidentally" sent us a complimentary order of stale churros (as per the waiter who delivered them and insisted) and then charged us for them. Sorry but for $800 we should have been walking out of there plastered and/or full. Oh and you only get 6 small wings for $18+ tax and no they were no smoked or cooked special. Old post: 10/10 food, service, atmosphere, etc. This is a great place to hang outside, have a margarita, and play some corn hole or lawn tic-tac-toe. Shout out to the waitress Lauren who not only stayed on top of her customers needs (including getting a water bowl for a neighboring customer's dog) but did it with the best attitude. In fact, she had us so hyped with her good vibes that I sang my margarita order to her and she sang it right back to me to confirm. It's people like her that need serious employee recognition and a raise. One suggestion I would make to the owner would be to cut the radio off when you have the live music playing. The poor guy who was singing for the night had to constantly compete with some Employee turning Beyoncé on and blasting it, causing him to wait sometimes up to 5 mins to get someone to shut it down. It was extremely rude and all the customers noticed and started saying something after the 3rd time it happened. Also, last comment... and again not serious enough to drop my rating... ya'll don't put cheese on your nachos? We ordered to go one night and not thinking we needed needed to explicitly state we wanted cheese, got chips with lettuce and diced tomatoes and chicken on top. Maybe it was an oversight? Second chance visit 3 years later. Chips and salsa are standard "freebies" at a Mexican restaurant. Here they are $2.50 for the chips and $6 for the salsa. $20 burrito. $7 taco. Auto populated gratuity starts the meter at 20% but is highlighted at 22%. The total bill at this place comes out to be nearly DOUBLE what you'd expect. It's absurd. Food was decent, but a $7 taco should have real blue cheese on it, not Ken's blue cheese dressing. $120 lunch for two adults and a kid (non-drinkers) should include silverware, not a bucket full of plastic. Three years later and the yellow jackets haven't been resolved. Dog friendly = annoying. If we were casually drinking this easily would have been a $200 lunch. This approaches the "special occasion" tier of restaurant pricing, but this place isn't really that special. read more

While I do like the food (although they could have more variety), I was really put off by my pick up order yesterday. I have only ever dined in at this location but yesterday I picked up an order to bring to my family's house nearby. I was really shocked at the bill being so high. After leaving my family's house I looked closer at the receipt and there were hidden fees I was not informed about such as a $7 included gratuity PLUS a $3 packing fee?! Wtf is that about? I feel if I'm forced to pay a gratuity then that should include packing my food since that's all the server was actually doing for me. This kind of nickel and diming really puts a bad taste in my mouth and makes me hesitant to return. I think customers should be informed about added fees so they're not shocked when a few items cost nearly $100. I get that restaurants are hurting but so are people and this kind of behavior will make someone like myself who can't afford $10 extra for PICKING UP MY OWN FOOD not want to return. Maybe If I was informed about these charges first I would not be as upset or I would at least have a chance to say "no thanks" and eat at a place that won't charge extra for nothing. I can't say enough about this place! I had been to the location in Greenport before but my bf and I took a drive today and stumbled upon this location. This was the best food we have had in a long time. I also can't speak highly enough about all of the precautions they are taking during this time of COVID. You felt like you were sitting in a backyard setting with gardens all over, the smell of barbecue in the air, the waiters and waitresses were wearing masks and gloves, everything came in take out boxes and plastic cups with paper straws and little packets of plastic silverware. The tables were spaced out more than 6ft. The food was amazing. We had the chips with trio of dips (queso, guacamole and salsa) YUM, the guacamole was absolutely fresh and the queso was certainly homemade. I had the Rito bowl with the pulled bbq pork.. delish! My bf has 4 tacos, carne asada, shrimp, adobo chicken and mahi mahi. Also had their fresh pineapple aqua Fresca. All in all we will be back.. it was worth the hour drive!!! read more
