I wanted to love this place but I just didn't love the food. I honestly think its a personal taste thing because everyone always tells me how much they love salsa salsa. I tried blt tacos and a cesar wrap and both were just not for me. Everything came nicely wrapped and handled with care so I give extra points for this. Went here for the first time and it was good. I ordered the chicken burrito and steak fajita burrito. The chicken burrito was just okay and the steak burrito was good but there wasn't that much steak in it. The prices are reasonable for the food they dish out. Rip off alert!!!! This place used to be pretty good, but now... You will get the chewiest steak at a cost you won't be able to swallow. Just go to avocados down the road. We ordered quite a bit of food the other night; a shrimp and spinach quesadilla which had one small piece of shrimp for each of the four quarters and the rest was spinach falling out of the moosh tortilla. We got the special steak and spinach wrap thingy with a honey mustard something which tasted okay but the steak in it was god awful to try to chew. The shrimp BLT tacos were good but again, overpriced for the little amount of tiny shrimp they had in them. Since I am watching what I'm eating I normally get their "crossfit" specials of grilled meat and veggies but every so often, I indulge in their yucca fries with their creamy chipotle ketchup. This place was OK at one time, however today it was a train wreck. They messed up our order, i had a chicken burrito, the chicken tasted old, and was way over salted. My wife had a shrimp quesadilla with extra salsa, she got extra sour cream and no salsa ! The worst part of this is that neither employees had on gloves and the masks they had on did not cover their face but rather their neck! After moving to the south shore of LI from Huntington, I was starved for a good Tex-Mex place that wasn't a bodega with suspicious steamer trays, questionable food prep practices, and staff who suddenly don't speak English when one asks which mystery meat is the special of the day. Salsa-Salsa came to me on a suggestion of a co-worker who knew of my quest and my culinary standards. After finding the place about a mile West of the bottom of Nichols Road, I was pleased to see a clean and well managed store that looked like a big open kitchen. Upon viewing what others were ordering, I asked the cheerful cashier what had just been served and took my que from there. What came to me rather quickly was clearly worth noting as the monster burrito, covered in a baked cheese and sauce, defied logic. I mentioned to the cashier what I had ordered and she confidently assured me that it was exactly what I ordered and she had a cover for it to take home, if I wanted it too. It must have been a dinner for two and the size of a small football! As broke into the burrito, I was tempted into the delicious Tex-Mex side sauce with its spicy and colorful way. Demolishing the burrito was a first for me and I even went back for something to take home with a salad topped off with cilantro. My experience was very good and I have returned to this little place in Bayshore at least twice in the past 2 weeks. I put a 4-star note about this place on my mental map of food markers for LI as it clearly stands with my favorite Americanized-Mexican Food places, which for show would include Faz's in Huntington, El Ranchita in East Northport, and The Goldmine in Greenlawn. read more

I have visited at least the last few times I visited and I figured out what they do , they re toast the chips and re-serve them burnt ! They should hold themselves to a higher standard like the other two restaurants in Port Jefferson and Smithtown ! And , also who wants to eat yesterday's chips reheated , the taco was decent but it begs the question was my taco from yesterday as well ! I absolutely love this place. I have been going for the last 5 years and The food never disappoints. Consistently good. Like always. And the people are great and food comes out fast. My favorite item is the Veggie Taco Salad. It's not your typical taco salad. It comes with the most perfectly grilled veggies, greens, rice, black beans, guacamole, cheese all on a bed of chips. When you get to the bottom the chips mix and it's just so delicious. I also love the Enselada de Pollo, which is also is a delicous salad. It has the best cilantro lime vinaigrette salad dressing. Other favorite are fish tacos, and the burritos are huge. They come out with seasonal soups, like their pumpkin soup during the Fall is to die for. There black bean soup is really good too. Really? First time yelp did me wrong. This place isn't very good guys. I guess everyones pallet is different. Feel like this place is 1 notch above taco bell. I had the steak burrito which was flavorless and had to drench it in cholula. Now I'm comparing this place to some of the better places on the island like bubbas burrito and Mexican grill 2000 and this place isn't in the same league. Not very authentic and no where near a west coast burrito. Don't get me wrong it's not terrible but I'm one-and-done with this spot. Chipotle is a much better chain with the same prices n bigger burrito. My gfs chicken quesadilla was very dry but we both liked the sour cream though. Lol Go to MG2K. Salsa Salsa is a staple in my lunch routine. The Shrimp BLT Tacos are absolutely amazing!!!!! (really they are that good). The spinach salad steak wrap used to be another excellent choice but I found that recently the steak can be a bit off at times...not sure what it is, or if its just me but some times it just doesn't taste right....hit or miss so I tend to stick with the Shrimp BLT tacos which have never let me down. Being a huge fan of traditional Cuban sandwiches I tried the new Cuban Quesadilla the other day and it was also very good and very filling. Prices have recently gone up, what used to cost me $12 or $13 is now $14 or $15. I know its not much but I try to keep my lunches in the $10-$12 dollar range. Even with the slight bump in price I will continue to come back here for the Shrimp BLT Tacos....I cant say enough about these things...soooo good!!! read more

Two words: Steak Taco. You may think im crazy for basically saying that's the best thing on the menu...but for the price and what you get is awesome. The taco is packed with pico de gallo, cheese, sour cream, and steak and you walk away spending the huge amount of $2.75. Sometimes I feel it is better to walk in an order instead of call ahead because they are always putting up different specials on the board. The food was delicious and people kept asking where I got the food from. The taco and fajita stations were great because my guest had a choice of what toppings and meat they wanted.
